We had a team event for one of our company's employee resource groups. It was a lot of fun and our host took great care of us, and went above and beyond, with a smile! If we were to have any other events in Atlanta, I'd definitely recommend them!

We came here for my friend‘s birthday party, Desmond was our host and coach, he was great made sure we had a good time. Make sure we had drinks. Make sure we had our form down and knew how to play the games to keep score really worked with us on an individual level. Highly recommend for a fun outing.

Ok y’all, this place is so much fun!!! We came for my brothers birthday!! Sterling was great! He showed us different techniques, set us up for competition, oh and did I mention they have a bar!! Oh we had a great time! Oh and the price was very affordable! Go here!!!

I went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. This was one of our activities for the day. We had a reservation. I do not know if it was required. Just to let you know this is like a rehab bed warehouse space. It is open indoors but open air sort of. The huge warehouse dock doors remain open. We had a great instructor that was patient with us considering it was all women in my party. I never in my life thought I would learn to throw an axe as a sport but I am not defeated. I was pretty open to the process. It's a little bit harder than people think it is. It looks so simple but can actually take the wind out of you. The other tables were fun to be around. They allow you to bring your own food and alcohol. We didn't know or else we would have done so. I would recommend this for groups definitely and would return.

Our group came for a wellness retreat about a month ago and had a great time! Jewel was our head coach and did a great job with our session. She was also very entertaining and helped wake us up (we had a bright and early morning session). I was surprised at how much fun I had (it was my first time axe throwing)! Others in the group who had gone axe throwing before at other venue said that this was one of their favorite axe throwing sessions. Highly recommend! Thanks again Jewel!

Google
When I say I had the best time! We went for significant others birthday. But the staff was amazing. Shout out to coach Kyle! He did amazing teaching us how to throw axes and just made it over all fun and safe. 10 out of 10 must try again!

Google
Jewel was amazing! She accommodated a large party of us, very early in the morning. She effectively taught safety, technique, and gave us some tips on how to improve our throws! I’ll definitely be coming back.

We went to Bad Axe Atlanta last night for my bachelorette party and it was so much fun! Coach Kyle quickly put us at ease with throwing sharp objects and was encouraging and entertaining! I can't recommend this place enough! I will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Popped in to Bad Axe at the last minute for a group outing and it was a pretty decent spot. My group went around 7:30pm and it wasn't too crowded, so we were able to get assigned to a booth as soon as we walked in. Our instructor was pretty well informed and really good at throwing axes! So he was able to teach our group a lot of decent games to play while we were there. Only reason why I am keeping a star off my review is because I didn't really care for axe throwing at all (was my first time), the environment was more "quiet" then I expected it to be (thought it would be a more lively experience with music) and the price was a lot more expensive then I thought it would be. Overall, if you enjoy axe Throwing and want a Lowkey spot to do it at, this is your place. It wasn't really my speed, but I think if axe throwing is your ideal of a good time, this is a good spot.

Yelp
Came here with a Bachelorette party and had an amazing time! From the beginning to the end, customer service was superb. We were greeted, and given instructions on how to throw. We were even checked on several times throughout our time and given pointers on how to do better lol. Great time was had by all. Drinks were able to be purchased. It was a little warm in the area, hopefully that gets addressed. Overall, it was a great place for a group outing!

Yelp
We had a great time here! Pablo was our coach person, so friendly and fun! Loved that they let our kids hang out with us while we had fun. Super neat place. Definitely recommend for a fun night out with friends, date or family.

Yelp
I went to Bad Axe on a date last weekend, and we had a good time. There was a full house on a Saturday late afternoon but because of the layout it didn't feel crowded. We walked-in but you can make a reservation. Also, you have to complete a waiver using your phone, so if you don't have a smart phone it may be awkward while someone prints a waiver and finds a pen (maybe not but maybe so?!) Each party gets at least 2 lanes to throw, and there are axes of different lengths and weights so you can figure out which suits you best. You get a training talk and the trainers come around and help you with your form. You can bring in food and drinks (but don't go crazy with a buffet and poppin' bottles.) Considering Covid, this is a good activity for getting out. Most people had on masks. There was a large bottle of antibacterial gel available. The lanes are decently spaced out. The public space was not crowded. The only reason this isn't five stars is cuz I'm cheap. For 2 people for an hour you're playing $30 per person. You also tip your trainer (PLEASE do this as they are helpful and very chill.) Other than the price, this was a good activity.

Yelp
Checked out Bad Axe Throwing for date night! It was a rainy Wednesday and when we pulled it it looked pretty dead. They were open, but there was only one other corporate party going on who had a few lanes. We were immediately greeted and asked to digitally sign the waiver to play. Super easy and I appreciated it wasn't a ton of questions to fill out. After a few min we were ready! We were shown to our lanes and given instructions on how to throw and play a game called 21. We were both better than we thought we would be and had a ton of fun! The fiancé and I are both super competitive! After a bit our instructor came by and asked if we wanted to learn a different game. He showed us Cricket. I thought the games shown were very easy for beginners and I appreciated the instruction. Towards the end of our 45 min the instructor came by and showed us how to throw 2 axes and said we could try knives or full size axes for an additional $5. Really the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was I feel that for the price ($30 per person for 45 min) it should include whatever you want to throw. I get they want to upsell, but how would a knife or a different axe add cost for them? We did take advantage of them selling beer/wine and had a couple beers while we played. The 45 seemed to go super quick since we were having so much fun! We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Kyle our coach was amazing and this being my first time Ax throwing I have no regrets! Planned this for my boyfriends 28th birthday party, with a party of 15, and it was definitely a favorite!!! BYOB's, pizza was delivered, and alcohol was encouraged! Ask for Kyle for a sarcastic and fun experience; what a great experience!!!

Yelp
This place is the best! Our host was such a huge part to us having the best time! Nobody in my group had done ax throwing before and we all left setting the date for our next visit, tee shirts in hand lol the host gave us great games to play and constantly was giving tips and advice for how to throw better. He was quick to help with beers and such. The only thing that I think would have been helpful is if they had buckets of beer, but it was a blast! We will be back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
I had so much fun here, This was such a unique date idea. I didn't hit any of the targets but I give myself an E for effort. Lol Before you start the instructors will I instruct on you how to hold the axe properly and how to throw it. There's also a score board so you can keep track of every target you hit. Parking is hell so get there early. I would definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
Some friends and I came here for a sober January outing and had a great time!! Our instructor Ben gave us a lot of great tips and taught us the proper way to throw the axes. We spent some time practicing our throws then broke up into teams to compete. We had so much fun! The place is located in a warehouse so it is quite chilly in winter. Once you start throwing axes you warm up pretty quickly though. Definitely rec immense for a fun outing!

Yelp
While visiting Atlanta on a quick baecation, we decided to try something new. Axe throwing is adventurous and inexpensive. Definitely an upper body workout!! Very good way to relieve stress and get those competitive vibes flowing. We were assisted by Conner. He was very helpful and showed us techniques and competitive games. In case you were wondering, yes I won. Bad Axe has several lanes for throwers, we were able to have fun while social distancing. Appointments are recommended however we came as walk in and only wanted about 10 minutes before beginning our session. We paid about $25-30 a person for one hour. Must sign waiver prior to throwing.

Yelp
Great staff, clean establishment, pleasant atmosphere. I will be coming back here. Didn't visit bar but maybe next time. First time throwing an axe and staff was friendly, instructional, and made me and my date feel welcomed even though we've never done it b4. Thanks!

Yelp
We went with a group last night and made reservations. The price was cheaper and we got longer throw times for booking in advance. There is parking on premises and it's far enough off the main area of West Midtown, so very easy to access. Our coach showed us several different throwing styles and gave us various game options. We brought a picnic style dinner. The venue was full, yet spaced appropriately. Large layout and high ceilings, so you felt comfortable. Masks required on entry and exit. Everyone in our party agreed that it was an amazingly enjoyable activity and we can't wait to book again!
google avatar

April B.

Yelp
First time coming here. It was amazing! Good to get any stress or frustration out. The coach connor was fun and hospitable. We had a party of five and were shown all the games to play. Would definitely recommend and be returning again to throw.

Yelp
A perfect way to have fun while socially distancing! This was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. Our instructor was really concise and to the point, as well as helpful. He ended up teaching us the games after we had about 20 mins of throwing to get the hang of it. Parking was easy and there was no wait on a Saturday night.

Yelp
I'm not 100% sure how I feel about axe throwing as a leisure activity. There's an element of safety along with an element of unfamiliarity with hatchet handling that seems like a recipe for calamity to me. And to be fair, the instructors and coaches at the facility put safety and awareness at the forefront. They go to the furthest extent to instruct safety first. But what they don't know is that John in lane 6 had 3 shots of tequila and a bump of blow before tossing. Then John takes his axe and tosses it in the wrong direction and then Friday the 13th poor Sammy in lane 5. So because of my own trepidation, I can't really say I had the best time. But here are some takeaways from my visit: - you can BYOB and food too - great for large groups and parties - plenty of lanes - good instructors - parking can scarce on peak days - we paid about $35 for an hour of hatchet hurling Overall I say 3-stars. I'm just too nervous to ever do it again. But Bad Axe can be a good time for the most part.

Yelp
Very fun! Kyle was a great instructor, and I didn't know that throwing underhand was a thing until he showed me. Definitely will come again.

Yelp
I actually have been meaning to come here for about a year now but could never pull the trigger. It took my best friend's birthday celebration here for me to finally see what I've been missing. What an awesome experience! If you're tired of the same old bowling, movie, or escape room activities, give this one a try! The thing I like about this the most is how you can customize your experience! The facility is BYOB and BYO Food lol! My group didn't realize that when we got there but that rookie mistake was easily rectified by UberEats lol. Make it easier on yourself and have food delivered if you have a big group. This place is perfect for big groups but make sure you check the website for availability. Thankfully we were able to secure a 2 hour block with two throwing areas. And the long table and stools near our section was adequate room for our 12 person party. Our reservation also came with an axe throwing expert to teach us the proper throwing techniques! She was awesome! Along with coaching us, she also kept score as axes kept flying lol! This is a great opportunity to let off some steam or try something completely new! The only thing that was semi-problematic was the parking. The lot in front of the facility itself is extremely small, allowing about 6 or 7 cars in the front. They do have parking in the back and street parking attached to the building behind the facility. But that was a small blip in comparison to the the great experience as a whole!

Yelp
Horrible service!!!! We booked a party for 6 people, only 4 could make it and they wanted to charge us $60 for the 2 people who couldn't attend due to illness. After calling "corporate" both the manager and corporate said there's nothing they could do. Mind you, there's NO ONE INSIDE. So we left. Lost way more money for the inconvenience.

Yelp
We came to bad axe throwing for a work team building event. It was interesting because I have never done anything like this before nor would I have ever gone if someone didn't suggest. This place is really cool located in what looks like a tucked office complex, there was plenty of free parking also. Upon walking in the facilities looked somewhat small but turns out there are axe throwing stations around the back as well as couches to sit and wait for your turn. Our host was really cool as well very knowledgeable, down to earth, friendly, and funny. Come to find out he's actually a world axe throwing regional champion! I enjoyed my time at bad ax throwing my only thing was my coworker reserved like 4 hours & after an hour and a half I was over it. I suggested to our host having other things for patrons to do so people could have options like boardgames, card games, cornhole, and it wouldn't hurt to play a little music. But then again we did come during a weekday in the afternoon so who knows what the evening festivities look like.

Yelp
We came here with a big group of friends for our second excursion in axe throwing. We loved it the first time, so we were super excited to try a new venue. The first time we had zero expectations, because it was a brand new experience, but this time, we had something to compare it to, and it fell short in comparison. Our axe master, the guy who teaches you how to throw was a nice guy, but the games we played initially seemed to not make a whole lot of sense. First of all, we were all either beginners or still new to axe throwing, so why was he trying to show us a way to throw underhanded when we haven't even mastered overhand? Secondly, the first game we played was grouping us into two groups, and we had to hit the number 21, I believe. It was some odd and random number. My gripe is, we are not axe masters. I'm thankful to hit the board at all and make it stick, much less be trying to shoot for a "1" point or a "3" point to win the game. Come on! The other issue was he was not good about safety. The other place we went stressed time and again to not hand off the axe to someone else, and several people in our group were doing just that, and he was not recognizing or not correcting this behavior. I found myself trying to hand off once as well, but again, not so safe. I felt like he should have been paying better attention to things. He was not all that helpful either in technique of throwing, but he was nice. My other issue was that the place was super hot. It was like in an old garage space or something, and they had it open. I can't imagine going in summer. Another problem was the location of the bathrooms. So we were throwing on one side and you had to traverse past the people throwing to get to and from the bathrooms. You had to constantly keep an eye out so you wouldn't accidentally get hit. Not very safe, in my opinion. The plus for me was that you could bring your own alcohol. Strange, but nice to not have to pay for anything extra there. The other axe place said it was prohibited because it was considered a sporting event, so it's dangerous to not have some restrictions on alcohol consumption. Well, that kinda goes with the territory at this place. The only other plus is the big medal my boyfriend won for winning the competition in our group. He's ridiculously talented at axe throwing for whatever that's worth. But we had to pay $20 for the medal, but my friend who set it up knew he was probably going to win, so she went ahead and paid for the big fancy medal. And it IS nice. He actually even went against the axe master and they tied and had to go into sudden death, of which they both hit the same area twice. So one of the other employees suggested they go for the kill shot, another area on the board where they have to try to hit the blue dots. He was a little farther than the axe master, but neither one of them hit it. I didn't think that was really all that fair, because he had never practiced to hit anything other than the bulls eye, but hey! He's THAT good. Don't know what you can do with that skill in the real world, but it's fun when you go axe throwing, just will have to do it in another locale.
google avatar

Beverly B.

Yelp
Christian is an awesome instructor! He gives tips and they stick! I was able to hit the board and even got a bullseye. The location has a good assortment of music and I can't wait for them to open the bar. It has a lot of space and the fact it was byob is great! Definitely will return!!!!

Yelp
Customer service was great.. brought my family out to throw Axe for the first time and it was an amazing, fun, and new experience. Didn't know throw an ace could be such fun. The establishment was clean and spacious... we had one on one training and the employees were very polite and helpful the whole time. My family and I will definitely return. Had a blast!!!!!!

Yelp
Super chill and fun date or evening out. They definitely abide by covid rules. They clean the axes regularly and practice social distancing. It is harder than you would think but the coaches are helpful and funny. Its approximately $30 per person and everything is touch free. You sign the waiver via your phone and pay with card and the square. Get out and try it, a very chill vibe.

Yelp
Great service and fun ! Definitely recommend going in a group. It's easy to pick up on and they even offer knife throwing.

Yelp
We went during the week when it wasn't that many people. The trainers are very helpful and they teach you cool games to play.

Yelp
I celebrated my 47th birthday here. It was the absolute best experience ever! The staff was so accommodating and helpful. I was able to arrive early to decorate the table. They also allow partons to bring their own food and drinks. Conner was our Ax coach and was so much fun! Highly recommend this place

Yelp
Came for a bachelorette party. It was my first time trying axe throwing and found it very overwhelming. The instructor was ok- i found him to be intimidating as well as the other girls. Wish he made our experience more comfortable. We had a 2 hr session, but i felt after 1 hour we were about ready to go. Its also pretty expensive, including tip it was around $65. They didnt have any food, drink options available other than fountain water. I feel like these options wouldve helped the experience.
google avatar

Miranda B.

Yelp
This is a long overdue post. Bad Axe throwing was amazing. The customer service was amazing and our instructor KYLE WAS AMAZING. I was there for a Bday party. We were able to have him for about 2 hours instruct us on how to throw the axes. Kyle also did some fancy tricks for us at the end. I have never thrown Axes before but I can tell you I will definitely be back. This place allows you to bring your on food and drinks yes that includes Alcohol also! Do yourself a favor and try it out . Great for Bachelorette, or Bachelor parties. Also great for team building or just a night out on the town.

Yelp
This plaza is bad a**. Plain and simple. Had some friends go here with me for my 28th birthday and we had a blast. Brought a cooler of our own beer and had our own two throwing lanes to play on. Played 21 with throwing axes what is cooler than that!? The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They really help you with your throws when you are first starting out. This place is awesome for a chill weekend day with friends or to bring a party or event to. 5/5 from me!

Yelp
I planned a surprise party for my husband here. I first heard about Bad Axe because one of my good friends planned a birthday for her husband in the DC location so I started looking to see if there was any axe throwing in ATL. Turns out there was one here too for Bad Axe. Reserving for a group (ours was a group of 16+) online was pretty easy - they do ask to enter a credit card to reserve. Their website is also pretty thorough for those who are a little nervous or want to read up on axe throwing. David, our instructor, even called me a day before. The location is a bit off the beaten path as it's tucked away among some warehouses along Chattahoochee Ave. Plenty of parking once you get there. We had lots of fun with axe throwing. I got the axe to the target a few times. I would LOVE to go back to throw some more. It's almost like playing/throwing darts. This place is also BYOB and you can bring food too. So we had napkins, beers, and birthday donuts going. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because there are 5 stalls/alleys for axe throwing. We were at a wall were lanes 3, 4 and 5 are together. Being in lane 4, we were sandwiched between two stalls that had MUCH LESS than our group. Honestly, we just didn't have enough standing room behind the axe throwers (two can throw at a time). We asked if we could be placed on the corner since we had a few in our group who weren't throwing. We were told that others had reserved it and also because their groups were bigger than ours. This was definitely NOT the case and so, it was just uncomfortably tight to have 16 people stand in 50 sq ft space. I definitely want to come back to Bad Axe. The pricing here is much more reasonable than their other competitor Bury the Hatchet. In a group, Bad Axe was $35/person and walk-ins are slightly cheaper. Bury the Hatchet is $40/person (reserved or walk-in) AND they charge $5 for those who are just observing. Bad Axe doesn't charge you if you're not throwing at all. So count me in if you want to go throw some axes!

Yelp
The perfect date night activity or venue for a group event. They currently offer BYOB, so you're able to cater to your own spirits. We were coached by Connor and he was very informative. We practiced, played a game and just hung out. It was an inexpensive good time! We spent about 1.5-2 hours here. I'm sure they will see us back very soon and we'll be bringing our friends!
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
The guides here are super friendly, and work to make sure everyone has a blast. Perfect for small to medium groups... grab an axe, chunk it at your target, and get some of that pent up frustration from your asshole boss out!

Yelp
Wow... what a fun experience! I was looking for something out of the box to do on a recent trip to Atlanta, and I came across Bad Axe Throwing. I wasn't sure how crowded it would be on a Saturday afternoon, so I reserved a lane for a party of 6 (note, 6 is the minimum to do this) about a month in advance. Upon arrival we were greeted by our awesome axe throwing coach, Chloe. She was super kind and professional, and she thoroughly explained the ins and outs of axe throwing to my group. When you reserve a group event you have about 2.5 hours on your lane. At first, we thought that would be too long. But once we started throwing time flew by. Chloe periodically checked on us throughout the afternoon. You can bring your own food. We got hungry about an hour in, and we ordered pizza from a nearby pizzeria. We really had no idea what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. I believe everyone in the group commented that they would be back.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Beware - RipOff - Great fun, but I was told after throwing that I lost my $91.00 deposit because they converted my group of 4 to "walk-in" and they deposit could not be used. A very disappointing way to run a business The owner asked me to do a review and I also sent an email directly to him
google avatar

Khoi P.

Yelp
Terrible appointment scheduling. Call in to find out about availability and I get the corporate line which then needs to call the location. Informs us that walk-ins are only available from 6-8:30. When asked if we could check with the location directly, they said no, we would need to go there. This is no easy drive from downtown. So we take a Lyft there to get there at 7. Upon arrival, my group and I get out of the car only to be turned away. Exactly what I was afraid of. So we take our Lyft back. I paid for it both ways because they wouldn't let me check directly with the location on availability. Terrible terrible terrible Update: After email below, asking for further information, they didn't act on anything. Zero reply, which is what the number of stars I wished could of gave them.

Yelp
Came for a friend's birthday party. We ordered pizza, brought beer and music! This is a different but cool thing to do. Evan, the owner is super friendly. So much FUN!

Yelp
Came here about a week ago and our coach was so awesome. I totally forgot his name. Maybe it was Kyle. He was bald. Lol. But anyways, he was very knowledgeable and cared about our safety. He cracked lots of jokes and taught us a few cool tricks. I was super nervous to throw the Ace the first few times but he gave me that extra motivation that I need. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
This place was bad ass! Our coach Kyle was straightforward and fun! Thank you for such a great time The Homiez

Yelp
John was our instructor and I couldn't have imagined an instructor any better than him! He gave us a orientation on how to throw an axe and once we got comfortable he showed us different ways to throw the axe, how to throw multiple axes at a time, and how to use his personal "mini" axes (not sure the exact terminology of them). He showed us how to play some games that are played in the axe-ing league. There's also plenty of lane space if you do a group booking. Lots of stools and tables if you bring food and drinks. Love the atmosphere/vibe and it's perfect for a fun activity that is out of the norm! Will def come again!
google avatar

Darius T.

Yelp
I was skeptical about how much fun you could really have and for how long you could have it at this place. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I was with a group of about 15 and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Shoutout to the axe masters there who were coaching us and showing us how not to leave with missing limbs or digits! We stayed for about two hours and were entertained with lessons, tricks and some friendly competition. If your looking for a new activity to change the norm, drop in at Bad Axe Throwing to and throw a few around.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday celebration and had such an awesome time! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Our host was SUPER energetic and informative. She was extremely helpful when discussing form when throwing the axe and safety rules for playing the games. We had a blast and would definitely revisit this place again. The parking is limited on the weekend but there is a lot next door which you can park at as well. The ambiance in the lobby is nice and the entire venue is open so you are able to see what is happening all around you. This place is great for crowds for 10-12 people and smaller groups as well. The is a small bar where you can order drinks as well.

Yelp
My wife brought me here on a Father's Day outing. Great experience! $25 an hr per person. Axe throwing is just what it sounds like. Instructor gives a ten minute tutorial then starts the time after the tutorial. It's pretty fun. I will go again with my wife and kids.

Yelp
First time coming to this place. Never knew axe throwing was a thing. I was a little nervous but we had a very skilled very funny, cool instructor who taught us quite a bit. I started off terribly and after a few games with friends by the end of it i was actually hitting the targets quite consistently. It's a very neat very cool place to meet with friends. My fiancee surprised me by having my 30th birthday party here with some of my friends and i really enjoyed myself. I even got a souvenir axe with my friend's signatures on it. Axe throwing is something i can definitely get into and i can say that BAD AXE THROWING played a huge part in introducing me to a new hobby and their inviting nature made it even more exciting and comfortable. I definitely suggest it for friend outings and company outings!!!!

Yelp
Came here for a birthday party on a late Saturday afternoon. Ty was our Axe Instructor/Guide. Ty was high energy and took the time to work on individual technique. He facilitated multiple games and made it fun. After standard throwing and games he taught us some trick throws which were pretty cool to try. Overall had a great time. Excellent place to come with a decent size group for socializing. Its BYOB and snacks. Good activity for about 2 hours.

Yelp
A great night out. Had no idea what to expect for our first venture axe throwing. The space is a simple warehouse with five throwing stalls (two targets in each stall). The graffiti on the walls make it a fun atmosphere. You have a staff member paired with each stall to teach you to throw and keep you safe. We had Christian and he was a ton of fun and a really good teacher. We learned basic throwing skills and then played some games. The two hours flew by and I can't wait to do it again. - Andy
