Great BBQ!!! Nice smoky flavor and a healthy portion on the sandwich. It was my first time having cowboy beans. I had the Frito pie. Piled high with pork and my new friend - cowboy beans. Fast friendly service. The mild BBQ sauce was a little too sweet for me.

Google
Stopped in today and was not disappointed. They smoke their meats on-site and the flavor is delicious. This reminds me of the kind of BBQ you used to find in most small towns across Oklahoma back in the '90s. Friendly staff, delicious sides, and amazing BBQ.

Google
Pawhuska’s Best BBQ! Thank you.

Google
Stopped after visiting the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. It is a small place, but everyone was friendly. Good BBQ! I got smoked sausage (yum!) and sliced brisket (good flavor). I also got cowboy beans and cornbread. The cornbread was too dense for me, but to each, his own. Overal, it was a good experience. I will definitely return when I am in town.

Google

Google
The food was good... the wait was about 15 minutes... the service was good and polite. She checked on us numerous times. It was crowded... the ambiance was quaint. Overall: good.

Google
We went there to eat after visting the Pioneer Woman's place. The place was very rustic and authentic of the old west. The food was fabulous. I had a slab of ribs. The ribs had a very good flavor and was cooked with real hickory logs. My only issue was the need to let the ribs stay on the smoker another hour or so. Great tasting spare ribs...however they were a bit tough. A little more time in the smoker and they will have a great product. The wait staff was friendly and top-notch. I will be going back on my next trip to Pawhuska.

Yelp
Great BBQ and Steaks. Love the flavor of their BBQ and grilled cooked steaks. They also have great cobblers with ice cream for desert.

Yelp
This has been a long time favorite...we just haven't been up here to partake, and apparently things have changed... The restaurant was empty, but it after 7. We ordered a slab of ribs and 3 meat plate. Meats were all delicious, just as we remembered them, pulled pork, brisket and polish sausage. Ribs were also delish! Admittedly, if you are looking for uniformed servers and fancy menus, this is not the place, nor has it ever been. Good BBQ, Rustic accommodations, just as it always has been. We finished with blackberry cobbler, Mommas favorite, with ice cream, and all was good with the world. We took home plenty of food and got a few more meals off the leftovers. This was an iconic BBQ restaurant for years, but it is apparently for sale, so I don't know it's future. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Pawhuska!

Yelp
Ribs are always fall off the bone. Cute little place. Wait staff are keen, and helpful with the menu.

Yelp
Had the cowboy fries with brisket. It was really good, and had a good price. Better come hungry because it was huge!!!

Yelp
Favorite is the bologna sandwich here this place is a classic staple in pawhuska been around for years! They do have special features on the menu such as meats that can only be ordered on the weekends which is a plus! Their kids meals are decently sized and everything is fair priced.

Yelp
Really good BBQ! I had brisket, hot links, Cowboy beans and potato salad. Food was very fresh and tasty. Hot bbq sauce had a good amount of spice. Very nice! My wife had pork loin, chicken, cole slaw and fries. She really enjoyed hers, also. Next time we are in Pawhuska, this place will be on our list of places to visit.

Sarah W.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Bacon cheese fries are a must!!! Their pulled pork is delicious. Coleslaw is good. Highly Recommend this place!

Yelp
Fantastic experience eating at BB's today. Classic joint that consistently produces solid BBQ and sides to die for. The kids portions are large and service is provided with true southern hospitality. My wife went with the Frito pie topped with brisket, while I went with the Nacho Doritos topped with pulled pork. We were blown away by how good it all tasted, make sure to add onions and peppers! The owner stopped by and visited with our daughters, which put the experience into overdrive. Until next time BB's.

Yelp
The name isn't what it once was. Horrible service and mediocre food. We had to refill our own drinks. The cooks and help in the back are visible and they are not in a big hurry to get your food out. The awkwardness of no music and small rooms makes the dining experience a little weird. Also the beans are straight out of a can I would think having a smoker out back may lend to the recipe but wishful thinking.

Yelp
Eh... wasn't to bad. I had the ribeye and it was excellent. I just love good steak. My little wife had some ribs and brisket. Really good smoke but horribly dry. As to the sides, I had a baked potato, she had some potato salad. We will not hat the potato salad again. For desert, we went back to the Mercantile for pie. Cheers!

Yelp
Well the wife and I went there a few months ago after leaving the Pioneer Womans place. We ordered a slab of ribs. The flavor of the meat was outstanding...however the ribs were pretty much raw. We could only eat the end tips, the rest was tough, chewing as hell, and simply under cooked. Very sad expedience. They need to train their "so-called" pitmasters a little better. We wont be going back

Yelp
The sign was correct. Brad's was bad. The best part was our waitress. She did a good job. The food was mediocre. There was plenty, but it was cold. Meat, fries, beans--cold like from the fridge. Lots of microwaving going on -- not only could we hear it through the kitchen window, but a few parts of the meat were halfway warm while others were cold. Fries were swimming in grease. It took a long time to get the food, and I realize they were busy, but shouldn't the beans at least be warm? As far as the establishment, it needs a thorough cleaning.

Yelp
Oklahoma BBQ...what's going on here? Got some Memphis stuff going on, along with some TX BBQ and then you throw hot links and bologna on there for good measure. Asked for marbled brisket - got dry stringy meat covered in sauce Tried Hot Link - why?; mushy sausage of unknown meat origin and where's the SPICE? Chicken - was this smoked? Fried Okra was ok. Cornbread...well they give you a lot of it
google avatar

Yelp
4.5 stars! (1/5 off because I'm a semi-vegetarian - but I might consider turning full carnivore for this place.). Fried Okra! YUM! Chicken sandwich! Yum! The meat is smokey and so tender it practically melts in your mouth. Baked beans were delicious, very sweet. And the cornbread! Mmmmm...Also tried the 3-meat plate. Sausages were delicious (everything was). Service was friendly. All smiles. And I loved the decor and ambience. Hardwood everywhere with lots of old photographs. Oh, and the cobbler at the end - we had peach (loved it!). Highly recommended.

Mike P.

Yelp
Excellent BBQ! The brisket was awesome and the smoke chicken was so moist and just the right amount of smoky flavor. Ribs were fall off the bone and the Hot BBQ sauce was just hot enough to really complete the meal.

Curtis S.

Yelp
Surprisingly great food and service! The line to get in to Pioneer Woman was a mile long and we were starving. Saw this place on the way out of town and decided to give it a try. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but there's solid bbq inside. Our server was super friendly, too. Give these guys a try!

John L.

Yelp
Look here's the deal with "Bad Brads" the food is great. Best BBQ in this Neck of the woods by far. However, here's the BAD, There service is by far the best example of horrible! To start with they never hold up to the posted hours of operation. Closed about every time I've tried to dine. If I am ever lucky enough to get in, either their closing early and turning away business, or the Steak as advertised on Fridays, isn't available. Either the sky's to blue, or the winds blowing to hard, or we quit cooking them at 6 or 5 or 7 or whenever they just want to. Can't tell you how many times I've driven to Pawhuska for their grub and been let down. Won't happen again. Not worth the drive or the ordeal. Try the " Mercantile" is well worth the wait!!!

Yelp
Well, I realize I probably just had a bad experience because several friends had lunch here just this week and liked it. But I went for an evening meal because I've been hearing about Bad Brad's for years. It took a really long time to get our food and overall service was mediocre. Unfortunately the brisket was unbelievably tough and the smoked "chicken breast" was a pressed together piece of chicken not real breast meat. My friend got Polish sausage which had good flavor but the casing on the sausage couldn't be chewed and really couldn't even be cut with a knife. The baked potato was good. We were both definitely shocked. Not sure what happened, but don't think I will be driving over that way again soon.

Yelp
Ordered to go. Brisket sandwich and potato salad. Waitstaff and cooks were very rude, like I was in their way. When I asked for some extra sauce, I was told that "We don't like to do that, but will this time". For almost 12.00 for a sandwich, I think they should. Soda was awful and had no syrup in it. I was so disappointed. This place is really not what it used to be.

Lawrence G.

Yelp
Would have given it a two star but some of the food was good. Nachos with pulled pork and cowboy beans was good. Brisket was good. Ribs tasty but to much fat for me. Bbq sauce was excellent. Salad ordered with dressing on the side came with it on the very small salad. Cornbread had sugar in it. Waitress was either rude or had had a bad day. We don't live here but if we did we probably wouldn't eat there again. $$$ price range.

Yelp
The bbq was average in flavor and very dry. We drove a hour and chose to eat lunch here instead of waiting in line at the Mercantile. BAD DECISION. No line and 2 cars in the parking lot should have been a sign. Ordered 2 combo plates, very small portions for the price. The smoked chicken was comparable to thick sliced deli meat. Brisket and pulled pork were ok with enough sauce. The sauce was good, thus the reason for one star. The sides were sub par. All of these things could have been made slightly better if our server had been decent, no dice. Hands down the worst service for a $40 meal I have ever had. We had to ask for someone to take our drink order and we were one of only 2 tables that were occupied.(there were at least 5 employees milling around) I actually had to find someone to take our lunch order, get up and find the tea myself and ask for someone to get our check. No one ever checked on us or served us in any manner other than bringing 2 paper plates of food to our table. If you are hungry for bbq and in Pawhuska keep driving! Bartlesville is 20 minutes away, Dinks is wonderful and they always have wonderful service. Bad Brad' s is just that, bad. Don't waste your money!

Yelp
I was in the mood for good BBQ & lots of it. A friend of mine recommended Bad Brad's in Pawhuska. I immediately googled "Bad Brad's Pawhuska" & clicked on the menu link listed under the 1st result: badbrads.com My husband & I perused the menu & I was immediately sold on the promise of calf fries. Not something I normally consume & but suddenly I was craving them pretty hardcore & totally willing to make the hour & a half drive for them. The dinners sounded lovely & the cost was acceptable. My husband & I were off! The ride was absolutely lovely. When we arrived at Bad Brads, I was excited. It was a house with picnic tables set up outside, a parking lot full of trucks backing up into a wooded area & an old man grilling steaks. I was convinced that I was about to experience the most legit BBQ ever. Man. Was I in for a big disappointment. Upon entering the cramped entryway, we were seated in the back of the dining room. The waitress was a surly, unfriendly & disinterested middle aged woman. She gave us our menus & took our drink orders. While she was away, we noticed that the menu was not what was on badbrads.com. When our waitress returned I began to say,"the menu online..." but was immediately cut off with, "That's not this restaurant. That's another Bad Brad's. We don't have any of the same items". I couldn't BELIEVE how rude & dismissive she was. I also couldn't believe that this was a KNOWN issue & that I surely wasn't the only person to have been confused by the website online, yet they hadn't made an effort to establish their own presence online. Perhaps "badbradspawhuska.com" would work or the more appropo "thesh*ttybadbrads.com". So we drove over 1.5 hrs. for a food item that wasn't even on offer. Had we still been close to Tulsa, I'd have given the waitress an earful & found another establishment to whom I would spend my money. However, we were starving & I was still hopeful. I ordered a 3 meat plate, counting on leftovers for lunch the next day. The plate came with a choice of 2 sides. I asked the waitress what 2 sides she would recommend. I commonly ask wait staff for their recommendations at places I've never been before. The cow of a waitress seemed really thrown at my asking for her thoughts. She responded with, "well, it depends on what you like" to which I said "I like everything"! I'm a fat girl & find some cheap self deprecating humor to be appreciated by most folks. Not this woman. She rolled her eyes & explained that the "potato salad was mustard based, the coleslaw was mayo based, the cowboy beans were spicy & the baked beans were sweet". Then she stopped. There were many more "sides" listed on the menu but I figured that since she hadn't mentioned any of those, they weren't available choices. I'm not a big fan of potato salad, coleslaw OR baked beans but I figured if ever one should get such things, it would be at a roadside BBQ joint. I figured they'd be homemade & incredible. So, along with my ribs, brisket & polish sausage I ordered a side of potato salad & baked beans. My husband ordered bologna, pork loin & hot links with french fries & onion rings (it as at this point that I realized the other sides were allowed, but the waitress had run away. So I was stuck). Now would be a nice time to mention that 2 tables of local folks were seated and ordered well after us...yet, they were served a good 10 min. BEFORE us. They were also given a basket of crackers & a bowl of butter for their bread. I didn't want those 2 things, but it would've been nice to have been offered them. Just sayin'. So we finally received our meals. Awful. Just awful. The plates were of the styrofoam variety, split in sections. 1 paltry amount of CANNED baked beans, 1 sad amount of PACKAGED potato salad, 2 ribs, a slice of brisket cut into fours & 1/2 a sausage topped with a flaccid piece o' Wonder bread. Seriously? Seriously. My husband's fries & onion rings were store bought frozen. Limp, cold & unappealing. There was nothing exciting about the food. It was food. It wasn't delicious. It wasn't special. I was so disappointed in the fact that not even the baked beans or potato salad were homemade. I don't even know if the meat had even met a grill or smoker. I could've picked up something better & cheaper in any grocery store. Our waitress ignored us for the remainder of our time there. Never dropped off a bill, never informed us that we would just have to pay at the front on our way out. Our bill totaled just under $40.The most I've ever spent for such a small portion of sh*tty food. Also, let it be known, I have never given such a horrendous tip in my LIFE which is REALLY saying something, considering my husband is British & we've lived in the UK for a number of years where tipping just isn't a "thing". The Bad Brad's we found online is located in Stillwater. We will be visiting THEM but never again will my shadow darken the doorstep of Bad Brad's in Pawhuska.

Yelp
Dried out meat that tasted of lighter fluid. Bagged, limp, iceberg salad mix swimming in dressing. Waitstaff nonexistent. Never again.

Yelp
Family seems to love it gives me the heartburn blues everytime....

Yelp
It's a little bit of a drive for the MAB to get to Pawhuska but is usually worth it. The 3 meat combo is great and the ribs are top notch. The cowboy beans are some of the best around. And even tho the side portions are small the meat part makes up for it. The ribs are plump and juicy and I'm sure those pigs never missed a meal. Solid 4 star.

Yelp
Eaten here twice. Slightly below average BBQ. But probably one of the best places to eat in the Pawhuska area.

Craven W.

Yelp
The Mercantile had a 3 hour wait so we ended up at Bad Brad's. Good service, good BBQ beans and the real fresh fries would have been good if they were cooked all the way. Brisket was dry and tough but the hot links were OK. The biggest disappointment was the chicken breast or was as they called it, "a slice off the chicken loaf". What's a chicken loaf? It was as bad as it sounds. Never had anything from a BBQ restaurant like it so for that reason, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Rose C.

Yelp
Too bad, Bad Brad's-- no longer in love. Main reason? There was no service. We arrived after the lunch rush, and the dining room was a mess, we cleaned off a table and then waited to get menus-- finally went to the cash register and found some, but found no one to take our order. Got up again and asked in the kitchen and they sent someone out to take our order. It was all very slow-- of course, time had slowed down because we were really hungry and the wonderful smell of the smoker had whetted our appetites. But still, it was slow. And then, the 'que was pretty dry. Just hope it was an off day and that Bad Brad's is still usually bad in a good way.

Danny W.

Yelp
Great selection of meats and fantastic sides. Always busy for lunch and dinner says something about the place. Decent prices based on pretty healthy portions given.

Randi V.

Yelp
LOVE!! The people were nice and chill, the food was delicious, prices were good and since I was up that way visiting family I was able to bring my dog and sit outside to eat :)

Cara V.

Yelp
Horrible experience. We brought family from out of town to eat here several weeks ago. I genuinely feel bad for bringing them to such a terrible restaurant. The sides are just *meh*. Pre-bought, nothing great. The waitress wasn't the friendliest. My husband and I both ordered pull-pork sandwiches. When they were brought out all you could see was bread. We both took off the top bun to see if there was any meat, and there was hardly any. My husband mentioned to the waitress that there wasn't much pork on his sandwich, so she went to the kitchen to check with the cook. Several minutes later she came out and informed us that that was the last of the pulled pork for the day (enough for one sandwich), so the cook just split it between our two sandwiches. Seriously?! The waitress never apologized, and even better, still charged us full price for both sandwiches. My husband ended up ordering a side of ribs because he was still hungry. My brother-in-law, who was with us and who formerly owned a restaurant, was completely disgusted with the level of service and how the situation with the pulled pork was handled and the fact that we weren't compensated. Sub-par all around. We'll never return.

Yelp
Took my visiting family from Wisconsin for some authentic Ok BBQ on Sat. mid afternoon. what a disappointment ! One of the chairs at the table was wet and we had to wipe it off with table napkins for a seat. The waitress was ok at 1st, not too friendly tho. She finally took our order after quite a wait. When the food finally arrived it was barely warm. I ordered the 2 meat combo plate with "chicken breast" & hot links. What puke! The chicken was some sort of pressed lunchmeat type stuff without any hint of smoke. The hot links was simply one some sort of unknown meat sausage cut in half, neither hot nor smokey. Others in our party ordered "chicken breast" sandwich w/fries, same bad chicken crap on wonder bread with cool very greasy fries, awful! My wife ordered 2 meat combo with "chicken breast" & brisket. Same chicken crap & dry non smokey brisket. Also asked for a side of pickles that were never received from the waitress who never visited our table after delivering our food. 1st waitress I ever stiffed, she didn't even bring the check to the table, I had to wait 5 minutes at the till for her to take my cash. If I never go here again, it will be too soon! The place should be called "Brad's Bad BBQ".
