BAD CHX - Medical Center, TX

Tried out Bad Chx in Houston and it definitely lived up to the hype! This food truck serves up Nashville hot chicken, and it was a solid experience from start to finish. There was no wait at all, and they got started on our order right away. We ordered the chicken burger, and it was extremely tasty—crispy, flavorful, and packed with unique fillings that gave it a signature twist. Definitely not your average hot chicken sandwich. On top of that, the person working the truck was super friendly and welcoming, which just added to the good vibes. If you’re in Houston and looking for some bold, flavorful hot chicken, Bad Chx is absolutely worth a stop!

Being a hungry first responder, I’m so glad my partner found this Gem of a food truck! I got the waffle sammy. It was so delicious, hot, and fresh! Bad Chx will remind you why food trucks are always a unique, genuine cuisine experience.

I have ate here often. You to have good hot chicken. Not sure what happened. They do not evsn give you the spicy sauce. Chicken over priced and salty no spice to it must be a new owner. This chicken taste like churches

I’ve been coming here for almost 2 years and today stopped by with the menu changed. I ordered the chicken but the seasoning was different. Is there a way to get what I had before? The pic is attached

I almost drove away because of the tacky location but I guess its normal for a food truck. Glad I stuck around to try. Halal fried chicken is the best in all of Houston, fries were good, wings were good. I loved their crispy wrap. Has a bit of turkey meat in it, which gives it the best smokey flavor and makes it different from any other wrap i’ve had. Good portion sizes, fresh, and yummy. Will go again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Tasty Nashville Chicken – Worth the Wait! Tried the Bad CHX food truck and was really impressed with the flavor — the Nashville chicken was absolutely delicious! We ordered the family pack, and it was a fantastic deal with plenty of food to go around. The only small downside was the wait time. We were told it would take about 15 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 20. Not a big issue, but something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry. Overall, the food was well worth the wait. Great flavor, good portions, and definitely something we’ll be coming back for!

This food truck is delicious!! My dad comes here after work and introduced us to it, now my brother and I come every other week. Service is wonderful, workers are respectful and welcoming. And the food is top notch. It’s a unique taste compared to other places. 10/10 would recommend.

Just tried the new loaded rice with hot chicken. The overall experience was exceptional and yummy. The service was great too.

This place is so dope. I love the wings and the flaming hot mozeralla sticks. Great customer service but check your order before you leave! Love the step up platform and cool food truck design as well. 8/10 recommend!

Loaded fries 4/5 Overall a pretty good hot chicken addition to the Houston area! They have a good variety of options from tenders to sliders to fries. I think the biggest pro is that they do not skimp on the portion size of the fries and that they give you a good range of option to pick for your level of spice. Otherwise, I feel like its hard to stand out as a hot chicken shop without an unique take on it, and while Bad Chx is delicious, I would not call it unique. But hey, in the end of the day, you don't have to unique- you just have to serve good chicken, and Bad Chx certainly does that right!

I ordered pickup via ubereats. They had bogo for the classic chx so I had to try. And I got the family mixed platter with mild seasoning. Let me tell you...they were seasoned well. I would've added more salt but I'm asian so it's expected but overral, the chicken pieces were a good size and the tendies were thicccck. Their chx sauce is also good; a cross between caines and cfa sauce. Their classic chx sandwich is a solid 4/5. No need for the cheese. I'd get this again next time I'm craving chicken. I originally wanted jollibee but I decided to try this food truck. The men cooking and serving were great. They did forget to give me Cole slaw with the family platter but it's all good. They hooked me up with the sauce and drinks as well. I did try and call ahead but they didn't answer so I opted for ubereats. I'd get their bogo special again next time!!!

Great customer service, the guys on the truck are very nice and talkative. The portions are HUGE! Worth the money for sure. I do wish that there was more cheese and less of the sauce on the fries. I did like how the fries had pickles and jalapeños. I like how you can pick your spice level..I chose hot and WHEW! They were not lying, it's HOT!

Came back for the second time and this time and I had the Classy Chx Sando (Medium Spice) with Fries and I got to try out their Shrimp with their sauces. They were all so delicious!!! Honestly I don't think I can eat Nashville style Hot Chicken anywhere else unless if it's Bad Chx!!! They're so good!!! You have to give them a go if you want some of the best Hot Chicken in H-Town!!!! And it's perfect for a picnic right here at Hermann Park since it's very close and convenient!!! Put them on your radar!!!

Review is for the food truck in the medical center area visited on Aug 7. Boss was craving fried chicken and the hospital we work at didn't have their regular giant wing Wednesday ... so I did a search and Bad Chx comes up 1.5 miles away. I didn't do any research prior to ordering, just gave them a call and ordered a 5pc wing (hot) and a 5pc drumstick (hot). The guy that answered didn't seem like he was in a good mood. He took my order, told me it would be ready in 20 and hung up, didn't ask my name or anything. Arrive in about 15 and the phone guy is at the window and as I walk up, he says "Yeah?" Not a "hi, welcome to ..." or any greeting as you expect when about to give your money to a small business. But I'm not sure why I expected more due to his attitude on the phone. I inform him that I called in an order, and he ask "hot?" I state yes and he grabs my order, bags it and rings me up.... $21 for a 5-pc wing and 5-pc legs and 2 slices of toast! I get in the car to inspect my order, and both the wings and legs were on the small side and there were no fries. When you look at their menu online, then click on meals, you get pictures of chicken with fries and toast and that is what I expected to see in the box. I read the description and fries are not included. Go back to the truck and order fries and that was an additional $5 for some fries with no seasoning and pulled from the oil early. Once ready, he hands them to me and walks away. The other guy in the truck put his hand out to take them back and bagged them up for me. But again, no thanks for stopping by/come again/hope you enjoy/tell a friend.... nothing. As for the chicken, it was fried to perfection, nice crunchy breading but no heat whatsoever. If I had to describe, it would be like they lightly sprinkled some tabasco sauce. Doubt we'll be returning anytime soon.

Food was delicious and cooked fresh! Flavor was outstanding. We got the waffle sammy sandwich, loaded fries, and the cheesy chx sandwich for 2 people. This was more than enough food for the both of us! Service was friendly and helpful. Only thing is that the order took a minute of waiting since they cook everything as it is ordered. Highly recommend checking them out!

I've seen this truck at the local gas station for at least a couple of years, since I moved to the Medical Center area, and I've been curious. The cost of food has made me a bit leary, because I've paid tens of dollars for food from food trucks that don't equal the quality of the food. I was extra cautious when I saw the images of chicken tenders being used on the sandwich, instead of a chicken breast. Last week, I just threw caution to the wind and my kiddo and I went all in....and...it...was...worth it! Prices still make my head spin, especaily when I saw that there was an option for one or two tenders on a bun. Well, the size of the tenders were like a scene from The Flintstones (Google it, Gen Xers!) where when you ask for ribs you get dinosaur sized ribs. Theses tenders were huge...and the taste was just as huge! Very flavorable, indeed! Can't leave out the fries, which were seasoned to perfection! The guy in the windows seemed to be all business (I guess that heat will make you have a straight face) and the wait wasn't long at all. My kiddo was impressed! I'm actrually craving Bad Chx, right now!

I tried Bad Chx at the lyric market not at the food truck location. This one is recently open at Lyric market in downtown. Food was OK compared to other chicken sandwiches in town this is not the best. Price range is considered cheaper than other vendors in lyric market.

My first time visiting this food truck. Great location to med center My server was so kind, unsure if he was the owner or not, but excellent customer service. Food-I asked for his recommendation, and he stated to do a mix of the classic chx and cheesy chx. My level heat was hot. Was too for lava. Hot was enough heat for me. I liked it! I got the combo of fries. Nice size meat to bread ratio. Excellent service, prices comparable to most food trucks, will come back.

I stopped by on a Friday evening to check out this food truck, and ordered the Waffle Sammy with fries. The sandwich consists of double garlic cheese waffle buns, pickles, coleslaw, and chicken tenders. On first impression the sandwich, particularly the waffle buns, looked appealing. However when I bit into the sandwich, I felt that the bread was too thick and it didn't allow me to appreciate the other ingredients inside. The chicken also felt dry. I also like fries to be crisp and their fries felt soggy. The prices are a little expensive for just a sandwich and fries. It is in a convenient location, but given the prices and quality, I don't think I'll be back.

Driving around at almost 2am with few options open without going far, we stopped at Bad Chx. I didn't have any expectations as I'd never heard of it. The brightly colored red & blue food truck is located in an unassuming gas station parking lot. It was rather quiet with a few people waiting in their cars for their orders. So happy we circled around to try! We ordered a burrito and the loaded fries. My partner's burrito was fully stuffed with chicken and a flaming Cheeto covered mozzarella stick! The loaded waffle fries were covered with melted cheese, chicken, pickles, and jalapeños. As a person who loves heat, I only got mild to share with my partner. The mild flavor isn't for those of you that think spicy ketchup is spicy! Overall, great food and service as the food came out in less than 10 minutes & tasted fresh!

First the food was pretty good for what I got. But as you can see in the picture the bun to tender ratio sucks lol (you do pick the amount of tenders yourself). The sandwich was veryyyy saucy so if that's not your style I would skip this place. Obviously the fries were super saucy as well but I mean it's loaded fries so I'll give it a pass. The price was kind of high to say it's literally fried chicken but it wasn't absurd. My least favorite part was the guy at the truck taking order was like mad rude and snappy and I didn't care for that. If I'm paying a pretty penny for a chicken sandwich and fries I expect some courtesy. Otherwise it's fine I wouldn't go back though

First timer here! My husband and I were visiting Houston (my first time here) and I like to research places on where to eat that we don't have back home. Came across this food truck and reviews are what led me to try it out! When arriving we saw it was just one employee at the time and when we ordered we were told it would be a 15-20min wait for the food and trust me when I say the wait was worth it. Everything was freshly made and very well seasoned! Portion size is very worth the price range! Definitely recommend!

Staff are gross cat callers I've experienced this behavior from them more than once while walking by this food truck.. overrated and overpriced food as well. Truly disgusting

Hubby and I tried Bad Chx in Sugar Land, Tx. Nervous at first but once we took the first bite, OMG! Delicious! Flavor and the size of chicken amazing! Mozzarella Stick delicious! Will definitely be getting more. So glad this place is close to my home. The gentleman who served us gave excellent service with smile and great communication on explaining the orders to us! The vibe was fun and lots of laughs. Enjoyed it!

The name suites this place the food is terrible, the fries were good even the toast was nasty the chicken may have been spoiled or spoiling. Try at your own risk!!

Food truck near medical center parked in a gas station but very well lit and feels safe even at night. Love the Chx burrito every time with mild spice level which has a decent kick. The loaded fries is a huge portion and good for sharing. The service is very friendly & committed to making your order great.

Ordered food through Uber Eats. Looks like the restaurant only printed part of the ticket so part of my order was missing. This is always hard when you have a delivery and it can't be corrected. Outside of that we ordered the chicken drumsticks in hot. And they were hott! There should be a warning, you're only real options are mild and hot. I like spicy food but this was way too much. Plus they forgot the ranch that cost extra. 3 people tried them and no one could finish them. I can say the fries and toast were good. We also got the sandwich in mild, pretty tasty.

Man me and my girl tried the food truck on fry rd and let me tell you the customer service was 100/10 the guys were super cool and even let me try their national drink which was absolute fire, the food we got was incredible from the size of it to the taste of the food, the burrito was super big and had me full, the chx sauce was phenomenal, and my girl got the 2 tender fries box and she couldn't finish. I highly recommend.

I barely caught the end of the Grand Opening Free Chicken Tender Sandwich event. It was really good. The bun was fresh, the chicken was tender and the cheese sauce was just spicy enough and ... it was ready in five minutes. Thanks alot for the good food and good service. ~Sandra

This is about Bad CHX at Thr Lyric. Horrible, horrible, horrible. PAID $3 extra for fries and got 10-13 cold fries. The waffle sandwich the waffle was cold sliced with shredded cheese in it that wasn't even melted. $17 and some for a sandwich and a few frie. Wasn't even worth eating. Will not go again.

If you like canes and chickifla. You're sure to love Bad chx . Big flavor on the hot tenders and good seasonings on the waffle fries. Try out a Vimto soda as well.

Terrible service but absolutely delicious food. Management should hire another person or two to help so this business can operate professionally.

$17+ for a perfectly decent chicken sandwich and a laughably small portion of fries. This felt eerily similar to buying an $18 corn dog at the State Fair....except I wasn't at the State Fair.

Mannnn I'll tell ya - at 3 am when there isn't much open, this place just hits different. Can't even lie to you, it's really freaking good. Who cares if it's unhealthy? I'm so about this place it isn't even funny. Highly highly highly recommend.

They consistently server good food no complaints at all and they stay open pretty late so they are a great option when everything else is close

Me, my boyfriend, and my mom picked up some food here. Total was $34 for a chicken sandwich & fries, the chx burrito, and a loaded fries. Me & my boyfriend got mild and it definitely had a kick to it and one tender is definitely enough. My mom got hot and said it was hottt Guy who took our order was cool. The food truck looked clean. Overall, the food was tasty & the chx sauce was yummy too. We will be back!

I got the classy chicken sandwich with fries in Lava for lunch. The guy raised his eyebrows at me when I said Lava. Little did he know I am Jamaican and I love hot ish. The chicken was delicious and it was spicy. I could smell and taste the spicicyness.the chicken was perfectly fried juicy and spicy. A lil tingle on the tongue but no fire department needed. The bread was soft. I wish I asked for more pickles and I wish the fries were cooked longer. This was my first time trying any "hot chicken" I will be back it was very good.

I've been to the medical center location 3 times this week. Chicken sandwich was fire, Waffle Fries are well seasoned and it didn't take long to receive my order. In the parking lot of a gas station but not bad to park at. Dare I say it's better than chick fil a.

They should rename their truck to Bad Fries for how horrendous they were. Good god. I had to throw mine in the air fryer when I got home to have any type of crisp. Look at the amount of ranch they give. Laughable. $0.75 for that. Do yourself a favor and go to wingstop for better ranch. Their chicken was ok. Go to canes. This place is mid.

Extremely poor service!!! I stopped by the food truck one evening to grab a bit. The person at the window was extremely rude so i cancelled my order and left. Management should really find better help at this place. The food is solid but service needs work.

I've been here several times now. The chicken sandwiches aren't very good. The chicken tenders are good though and so are the fries. What aggravates me are the tiny containers of dipping sauces that are less than half full and cost $.75 each! This sort of nickel and dime gouging is enough to make me not want to return.

Foot truck near the VA Houston. FABULOUS!!! Chicken was melt in your mouth juicy and tender. The mild is a tad spicy so watch out but holy moly it was so delicious!! customer service was amazing as well!

BAD CHX: A hot chicken restaurant that is definitely bringing the heat . There are two locations in Houston, a food truck and a brick mortar. I visited their brick and mortar spot located inside Lyric. They offer 4 spice levels to their chicken. I got mild because I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food . I ordered the loaded fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, fried wings and drumsticks. Everything was prepared fresh and steaming hot! Even though I ordered my food mild there was still a bit of a kick to the chicken tenders but everything had a good flavor overall. The portion sizes were huge! I was very impressed with Mohamed's customer service as he was very hospitable.

Move over Chick-fill-a We drove across town for a try at Bad Chx. It was worth the trip We got the burrito, fries, loaded fries, Bad tenders, it was delicious and tasty. The owner was very polite

In need of a late night dinner after the Houston Rodeo, we ordered from this place. It was delicious "Nashville" style chicken. I had the tacos and my husband had the burrito with fries. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. My tacos were topped off with slaw and pickles. We had the spicy chicken so the slaw helped break up the heat. It's a must try.

Awesomely huge and spicy chicken sandwiches. The mild is plenty hot for the average person; I'm scared to even attempt the hot. This thing is a beast and worth trying!

BAD is right! Lyric Mkt location sucks. No sense of urgency with the downtown working crowd. 25 minute wait for a cold chicken sandwich with mid fries while my friend received their meals and ate before my sandwich arrived is unacceptable and we won't be back.

This food truck chain has three locations in Texas from which they sling Nashville-style hot chicken sandwiches, tenders, and fixings. I had passed it probably a hundred times, so one hungry evening I decided to give it a go. The employee working that night was remarkably friendly and helpful. When asked about spice level, he candidly offered that he didn't find the "Lava" tier to be enjoyable at all and recommended the next spiciest level. I took him at his word and ordered a "Hot" Cheesy CHX sandwich. Outside of it being quite sizeable, the buns were lovely and soft, the thick slab of chicken was juicy and well-cooked, and the gooey American cheese was a surprisingly tasty upgrade. It was topped up with some creamy sauce, pickles, and coleslaw. I liked that the chicken wasn't overly breaded or fried. My one knock is that the seasoning, which was more of a dry rub with brown sugar, wasn't particularly spicy and I was hoping for at least a little bit of pain. Between the great service and satisfying sandwich, I need to give this med center-area food truck another try. Although I might go full Lava this time.

Fries were absolutely terrible, chicken didn't have much spice or flavor! The employee was awesome and food truck looks cool tho! Skip this place if you're looking for Nashville hot!

Gave these guys $20 for my order my meal cost 11.19 he only gave me back $8..I mean but y'all can keep the change..kept telling the dude I wanted mild loaded fires he kept saying hot ..I said no mild ..he kept saying hot then finally said mild but still gave me hot over all my fries was soggy and it took to long for my order given that my break is only 30 min these guys took exactly 30 min ...

Food was great owner and staff is outgoing and try's to make sure you are a satisfied customer. They do have drinks also.
