First time here and LOVED the classic double burger 95/100 - crunchy edges - great flavor - a lot of smash burgers suffer from being too salty - these were not. The buffalo wings were big, juicy and had a smoky flavor 95 / 100 - if it was crunchy I would have given it an easy 100/ 100. The waffle fries were good but nothing special - 70 / 100 Definitely coming back.

YAY AZ BEEF!!!!!!!! My family loves Bad Jimmys! The burgers are juicy, yet have a crispy edge. Cheese is good. Sauce is flavorful. Fries rock! I also love the Love Island cocktail. Tastes like a spicy gusher. Honestly whatever you order, you can’t go wrong! GO THERE! AZ BEEF!!!!

Had been craving a smash burger for a while and took a chance on this yelp find. They had only been opened for 7 months. So went with a classic smash, old fashioned and fries. (Fries are enough for 2 people) The burger was fresh and the old fashioned was a great balance. Definitely a good option if you want to get off the beaten path.

Solid smash style burgers just off Old Town. Pleasant service, nice setting (like much nicer on the patio when the weather gets nice. Price is a bit high for quick casual burgers, though. Burger was solid. Definitely a small notch above Smashburger, quite similar to Shake Shack (but this sauce is better). Waffle style fries were tasty, but had that sort of spray starch texture on the outside (some folks like that extra crispiness, but not my favorite). Gonna have to try the bar some time.

Pros- waffle fries and wings were good. Cons-hamburgers are dry, thin, and crispy. DO NOT WASTE your money! It cost $86 for 3 people. Only one beer in entire party. I went to the counter to let them know that they forgot the onion ($1 extra). She pointed out the tiny grains of nonexistent onion bits. In-n-Out has better burgers at 1/3 of the price. You have been warned.

This place should be called "Freaking Good Jimmy's"! We love the place and come once a week for a burger and soft-serve. The service is always great and the quality is excellent. My daughter has been raving about Bad Jimmy's and really wanted me to try it as she knows I like a good burger. I went with the Double Burger and shared some fries with her. They make the burgers "smash burger" style and The Double comes with cheese, sauce, and grilled onions. The fries are waffle style, and were delicious, and tasted fresh. Loved the burger as well. It had a nice crust on the patty and the sauce and onions added to the great taste. Ambiance was good. It was too warm outside so we sat inside in one of the booths. Very clean restaurant inside. Service was on point as well. I'll return!

This restaurant is great! I frequent here often since they opened as I live fairly close. The smash burgers are amazing and the waffle fries are top notch! Staff is always extremely friendly and make the visit memorable. One time my burger had a very long wait and the counter employee surprised me with fries to turn the experience around. I've had the friendly chef toss me some of their secret sauce from time to time as well. This place has always delivered great food and great experiences since they've arrived and happy to welcome them to the neighborhood

I loved that the ambience was fun and relaxed with over the counter service. The food was great with the smashed burgers having crispy edges and a juicy interior. The double burger was still on the smaller side, though. We were expecting a burger with a little more heft to it. The fries were fresh and spot on. We will be back for more!

You know those places where the people are really nice and welcoming? When the food is good, that just pushes the experience to the next level. Bad Jimmy's is one of those places. Even though it has a Scottsdale address, the place is not fancy, so know what you're getting and set expectations appropriately :) I had a Big Marble Proper Lemon (a soda that is apparently made in AZ) with what I like to say was a pastrami sandwich that had a smashburger under it: the L.A. BURG. This is on the menu as "K4 Ranch Griddled Beef Pastrami, K4 Ranch Premium Arizona Beef, Single Patty, American Cheese, Griddled Onions, Mustard, on Martin's Potato Bun" GOOD STUFF! It also had pickles that you can just see in my photo. My wife and I split an order of fries. I am not an expert on fries and will eat them if they're there, but I can take or leave them. These were good, but nothing I found particularly amazing except that they were served hot. The sandwich was a little difficult to eat but the flavors and textures worked well together and the meat was hot. Just be sure to grab a bunch of napkins before digging into this one. The pickles added a nice crunch and a bit of sourness as a counter to the richness of the meat and cheese.

I'm very glad we tried Bad Jimmy's. What I can tell from other reviews is many people don't understand what a smashburger is. It's a patty made from a loose ball of ground beef, pressed firmly on a hot griddle to make a very thin, wide patty. The smash method gives it a crispy, caramelized crust with juicy beef flavor on the inside. So yes - your patties are supposed to be thin! I like simple so my Lil Jim was perfect for me. (Single Patty, American cheese, Not-so-secret-sauce). Have I mentioned that my husband always ends up ordering the best thing on the menu? He had the L.A. Burg (Griddled pastrami, single patty, American cheese, griddled onions, mustard, pickles.) If you've ever had a Crown Burger in Utah it was reminiscent of that. We found the fries to be crispy and well-seasoned. The inside of the restaurant is loud and fairly small: just a few tables and a row of bar seating. They have a patio which fixes both issues once the weather cools down. One thing to note is the five star service. You don't see that often at a fast casual place. We were greeted multiple times by friendly workers, and were also thanked for coming in by numerous people too. It was really nice to see how kind and invested everyone is in making Bad Jimmy's a welcoming place.

Wow, one of the coolest small bars in Old Town area. This new burger bar specializes in smash burgers with soft buns. They are delicious! They cook the onions in with the beef and are very savory. Sat at the bar and service was great. Also had an order of waffle fries and they were excellent. Selection of top shelf spirits at the bar and hip cocktails. The burger was over salted and they are priced @ $12, making Bad Jimmys a solid 4 stars. Will come back to try another time and also try the soft serve.

Was staying in Scottsdale for the weekend to attend the 9th Annual Heroin's Anonymous Convention with a grip of friends. We had a craving for hamburgers and Bad Jimmy's was down the road so we hit it up. The place is really small inside and was packed so we sat outside in the patio area. The burgers are the smashed on the flat grill type (semi crispy on the edges. I got the double burger with fries and it was delicious! It definitely satisfied my craving. On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a great spot, I'd hit it again if I'm in the area and craving a burger:)

Great staff very attentive and happy. Location was convenient and small (4 inside tables, bar with 12ish seats and plenty of outdoor seating if it was cooler), darker vibe inside with dim lighting at lunch Fries were fantastic, hot great flavor good crunch They dont have any ice tea options Burger was good. LOVED the crunch on the ends with it being a smash burger. Bun was meh, tasted like a grocery store generic bun.

Oh man, do I love it when something I've been eyeing, meets expectations and all the hype!! I had high hopes for this spot since I really liked the previous restaurant here- Starlight BBQ. I was sad to see that go, but Bad Jimmy's makes up for it. I read some 1 star reviews saying dry burger, no noticeable cheese, or fries were old with no flavor. If that's what happened to y'all...bummer. I had an awesome meal here. Let's not confuse things, it's pricey IMO. My burger alone was $16. This was a $40+ meal for 2 people, essentially fast food style experience. But goddamn I'll pay that again for food I genuinely enjoyed. I'm someone who consistently lists burgers as a top favorite food. Like, I would have one for a last meal situation. And this burger meets my last meal criteria... Bad Jimmy is a bad, bad man :) The fries were great- perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. Nice seasoning too. I just used ketchup this time but some ranch would be good too. I ordered the green chili burger since it's likely not on the menu all the time, and I've been on a green chili kick lately. But, I'm really glad my man ordered the classic double. I liked his better than mine lol. It was so cheesy and I liked the sauce on that burger. These smash burgers have great seasoning (aka salt) and the lacey burger char on the edges-- SO good. Someone commented they're too salty, I thought just fine. But I eat out regularly and my taste buds are accustomed to higher levels of salt than people who eat bland food, lol. Fun fact-- most home cooks under salt their food and that's why meals cooked at home can sometimes lack flavor or depth. I'm glad we split our burgers so I could try 2 options. Next time I'm going for the classic double or the double with grilled onion. We finished up our meal with some tasty soft serve. I wanted to order a cocktail from the bar, but decided this time to focus on the food and next time I'll come back for a drink. All the staff working were super nice and I will definitely be coming back.

Stopped at Bad Jimmy's in Scottsdale after running some errands in the area recently and got really excited to try their smash burgers and wings. The spot is very clean and the staff is friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, they were out of wings during my visit but their smash burgers were super juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right! It is easily one of the better burgers I've had in a while. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, making it a good place grab a bite quickly during lunch. They also have a bar, which I can imagine makes it a great spot to hang out after work or later in the evening. Even though I didn't get the wings this time, I was really impressed with the smash burgers and would definitely come back for those alone.

Burger cooked well and crispy. Toppings are proportional and it's really not bad. Got the seasonal Green Chile Burger with inverted buns, which was interesting but tasty. I feel like it was lacking a punch of flavor, especially for $16. The fries.... my favorite. Seasoned perfectly (maybe on the high side which I like). I'd come back just for those. Overall, it's pretty expensive but good food. They have a cocktail bar inside as well and really dim, red ambience which is cool.

Bar, booth, and patio seating in a clean, retro-garage style eatery. 90's is not a throwback for this old broad. Loved the atmosphere and music selection! Two gender-neutral restrooms for customers.

We finally made it to Bad Jimmy's this past Saturday afternoon, right when they opened. I've been hearing great things about this place since their food truck days but hadn't made it out until now. Let me just say: totally worth the wait. I'm a huge burger fan--any kind, any style--but smash burgers are my weakness. And Bad Jimmy's absolutely blew me away. From the music to the decor, the vibe took me straight back to my high school years. The service was top-notch too; everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Now, the food... wow. The menu is simple, but honestly, that was the best burger I've had in my 40-something years of life. My husband and I were already telling the server we couldn't wait to come back and bring the kids. (He recommended trying their wings, which are available Mondays at this location and daily at their Uptown spot--definitely adding that to our list!) And we didn't wait long to return--brought the kids back the very next day! They loved it just as much as we did. A special shoutout to the server: after a long pool day, our 4-year-old was cranky and suddenly picky (no sauce, then no cheese). While I did a little "mom trick" to get her to eat the burger (just flipped it over to hide the cheese), the server still brought out a fresh Lil' John burger at no charge, just to help. Such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. Thanks, Bad Jimmy's, for an epic weekend full of burgers, fries, and great service. We'll be back--probably sooner than we should!

My favorite smashburger in AZ so far!! Burger is so dang good, fries are delicious and love their soft serve. Ambiance is great, very retro diner vibes.

Really good smash burger... one of the best we've ever had. Will definitely take family and friends here when they are in town. Olive oil and salt ice cream was good but way too salty. Will say light salt next time. This is a great location with a big patio and lots of parking. The music inside was super loud so if you want to have a conversation might be best to sit outside if it's not too hot out.

I was craving a burger, decided to try this hidden gem! I seen people enjoying outside seating with the misters and shade going! They have 2 double styles. I order the one with grilled onions. I also decided to try their fries (crisp cut). And I got a float. The float was just soft serve in a cup, except the ice cream tasted a lot better than your typical soft serve. You choose the soda at the fountain machine, which I chose Dr. Pepper. The burger was really good, they had a homemade sauce on it, not sure what it is, but it was so good I use my fries to dip in it. The fries were ok, I was hoping for a more crispy style, they were thicker with more potatoe per fry.. not a bad thing, just not what I was craving. They have a bar with a nice selection of spirits! I'd come back if in the area for sure! The burger was pretty darn tasty!

Great burger option in phoenix. We came here after a hike and were ravenous - so the burgers and fries hit the spot! I got the veggie burger and it was really good! A little too fried but still very good! The fries were also amazing! M The restaurant is a bit loud but has a fun and young vibe! Service is good and fast

Too many burgers being cooked at once. The menu is boring and staid. Easy money for Jimmy, but no choices for us. It was like everyone eating the same thing at a wedding. Nothing special about this guys food either.

They are always busy but food comes out fast! The burgers are good. There are many options for the burgers. The chicken wings are so good. We got buffalo wings and could not stop enjoying them. The highball is tasty. I like to see their highball maker machine at the bar. Their float is great. We can pick the soda we want and they soft serve is creamy delicious.

Was so excited to drive to this place and try it out after seeing the hype- and the hype was RIGHT! Seriously the most amazing burgers and the waffle fries were perfection! The ranch was so good we bought some to take Home we also indulged ourselves in the soft serve ice cream and it was the perfect treat! Worth the 30 minute drive and happy they opened up the location here. Staff was very kind. Definitely a must for burger lovers!!

The Fries and ranch here are ELITE!! Perfectly crisp, seasoned and a fresh homemade ranch. The burger was good, buttery, but left something to be desired, perhaps needing a bit more sauce or more seasoning in the meat? The inside of the restaurant is very cute, Diner style, fun ambiance! Unique burger with quality taste. Tried the double burger, fries and swirl soft serve. The burgers are rich even though the patties are thin, the burger will fill you up. The fries were a very crispy waffle fry and those were delicious. The soft serve was decent, but after filling up on the burger and fries we could've done without it. They have a nice little outside patio with plenty of tables and unique old school seating inside with a liquor bar. Overall, a good unique burger spot in Scottsdale.

This newer Bad Jimmy's location might be tucked into a quieter corner of an awkward plaza, but it absolutely holds its own charm. While the downtown Phoenix spot has a bit more energy, this Scottsdale location feels calm, clean, and super well-organized. The bar area is especially cute, and the staff here--whether behind the counter or serving--are always friendly and sociable. Honestly, it's one of those places I find myself craving regularly because the food is just that good. Now that it's closer to home, I can see myself coming back often. A great addition to Scottsdale. I didn't take any photos of the food because I got it to go, but it did not disappoint.

Plenty of patio space with mist fans, minimal seating indoors and out. Incredibly small place. Cashier taking orders was unmemorable, waiter bussing orders was low-energy. Orders took 20 minutes to complete. Odd restaurant vibes. Burgers & fries were OK at best. Can't believe we spent over $12 for one burger.. AND we were hungry. Best of luck to Jimmy.

We got the double burgers and split fries and my gosh was this good! I've been hearing so much about Bad Jimmy's recently so I went to the old town Scottsdale location. If you like a smash burger you're in for a treat. These burgers were insanely good, the bun was perfect and the sauce on it wow. The fries were also the perfect texture, and the spices on it omg they are my perfect fry. Not to mention the ranch, so so good and they are a really good size for 1. The inside is a cool vibe with a full bar, limited indoor seats but they have a few tables outside. The employees were nice and the food came out pretty quickly. Will definitely be back!

Small but mighty burger joint! Very fun and nostalgic 90s decorated place. Menu was simple with just 3 burger options to pick from. If you like thin and crispy pattys, this is your place!

Really good burgers here - would highly recommend. The only downside is that they are so busy and inside seating is limited. A little loud with the music, so probably not much of a place to take kids - but the food is incredible!

Came here late night for dinner. Menu is smaller but everything was solid. Indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor reminds me of a diner vibe with a bar. Bartender was very personable and engaging. We had 2 double burgers and shared a waffle fry. Food was fantastic and hit the spot. Very filling and tasty. Burgers were super thin but with the double patty was perfect. Waffle fries were cooked to perfection and the 196 lemon vodka seltzer was epic. On our list now. Appreciate the service and food- fast, clean, friendly, and dynomite! Price point was awesome and we felt we got a tremendous value for the money!

Best burger I've ever had. There, I said it. And what's even more impressive? This was take out. If a burger can impress me that much without stepping foot in the restaurant....Thats a winner! Highly recommend you all RUN, not walk to Bad Jimmy's! Delicious!!!!!

I would not recommend this place at all. The wings are awful. We spent almost $80 for 2 adults and 2 children for that price for lunch the food should have been excellent. The burgers were mediocre at best and the fries had a gross seasoning. Their management team should know their workers do a lot of leaning against the counters, what happened to "you got time to lean, you got time to clean" Don't waste your money here, In n out has better burgers at half the cost. also the music was so loud we had to go outside so we could try to hear each other. Overall experience "Bad" our littles said they know why it's named "Bad Jimmys"

This place is the spot!!! No matter which location you go to they are coming up with some of the most insane specials. Diner vibe with great music and cool staff. Love the veggie burger.

I have been wanting to try Bad Jimmy's for sometime now but parking was just too much of a challenge at the Phoenix location. To discover they were opening a Scottsdale location close up where I live was sweet music. Got to try it today. It did not disappoint. I had the Classic Double with the Waffle Fries. Both were great. This place is a burger joint...nothing more, nothing less. The menu is simple and straightforward. I was able to walk right in and they took my order right away. After ordering, you get a number and they bring the order to you. Twice staff checked on me to make sure everything was good. Had a great conversation with the manager, Anthony. It is obvious he enjoys his job and takes pride in the restaurant. He even came back with a complimentary Vanilla Soft Serve which was drizzled with a little olive oil and sea salt...two things I would never think to pair with ice cream yet it worked! Bad Jimmy's is where Starlite BBQ was located and is much better suited to the space as people are in and out. As a long-time resident of the neighborhood Bad Jimmy's is a welcomed addition.

The food was excellent. The burgers were nice and hot, cheese was melted, and the fries were hot as well. The service was fast, the burgers came out quickly, and the ambience was nice. Kind of like an old style diner.

Bad Jimmy's? Honestly they should be called Decent Jimmy's . Cause they ain't that bad. More or less decent. Burger 3.9 out of 5. Those Tennessee wings or whatever you call them ...they're different...I don't know, I would say they're decent at best ,3.5 out of 5. The fries maybe they gave me the decent batch cause they were about a 2.9 out of 5 . Over all 3.5/5.

I came here on the first day for lunch, and had the Double Burger, because I've had it before and loved it, and it did not disappoint. Super high quality meat that I know from the truck and Phoenix location, beautifully caramelized and integrated with onions, the lacy, sickly delicious edges...freaking awesome, particularly with fries and a litre bottle of Mexican Coke. So what's the problem? Later that day, my buddy wanted to take me up on the offer I had thrown out at lunchtime. It turned out to not be any sort of problem. While I could have wolfed down a second double, the special burger was the LA Burger which was a single smashburger patty topped with a layer of griddled Pastrami, and mustard! That delivered a completely different flavor profile, and I was delighted. Since it was now dinner, I didn't have any issues with having a cocktail or two, so I had their take on a sour, and then a classic margarita as a follow up, and they whipped them up quickly! Bottom Line: these guys are good at anything they think should be served in this spot. The cocktail program is worthy of a place cranking out some of this town's best food. And, the restaurant looks even better in the evening with the patio lights on and house lights dimmed, the bar, kitchen and Drink Machine lights adding to the ambience. Perfect meal on a perfect Scottsdale spring night.

I came here with my family. The burger was smashed and crispy at the ends and if you like your beef like that you will love it but was very over priced. I also then ordered a soft serve ice cream and boy was it good ! I thoroughly enjoyed it but would I ever pay 7 bucks for a soft serve ice cream? Never ! What a rip off. I could enjoy that at McDonald's for 10% of that. The burgers were overpriced as well. I can't imagine ever going back for that. In n out way better and fresh and not as oily. Sorry guys I can't imagine you staying in business for too long

Good burgers, is a shame the service is so bad. Consistently terrible service. It's clear they're going for a certain atmosphere, but the "too cool to take your order" attitude is rude. If you're just there for the food, I recommend ordering to-go from the much friendlier counter staff. If you're planning to sit at the bar, be prepared to feel invisible...and I've watched the same happen to other guests. Bizarre atmosphere.

I was really looking forward to it, but I really think a burger shouldn't taste like two layers of grandma's pantyhose soaked in hamburger grease.... with a ton of sauce on top. The guy told me that that's called a "Smashburger". I honestly don't think that's a Smashburger. I've had them before. I think all us foodies have had one. ... If there was 1 ounce of meat in both layers ,I would be very surprised. It was like looking through burnt spiderwebs.

Had a delicious craft cocktail at the bar while waiting for our burgers. We waited probably 15 min or so and these smash burgers did not disappoint. Crispy edges, grilled onions, and well seasoned. ( we did get the sauce on the side to dip). The waffle fries were fantastic too. Love a place that just does a small menu really well. And I'll be back not only for the burgers, but to try some more of those cocktails.
