Bad Larry's Bar and Grill

I made an unexpected order for takeout because I was minutes away and looking for something quick for dinner. I was thrilled to find that they offer TOAST as an option. I love using that when I’m on the go . The food itself was delicious. I didn’t spend any time except waiting at the front desk to pick up my food. when I showed up to pick up my food I liked the pub like atmosphere, but the benches in the waiting room need some repair.

We were a large party of 22 or so celebrating November births in our members. Granted it was a Tuesday. They had advance notice and they only brought in one wait person who was normally off. It was good bar food with a wide selection of kinds of food.

One of those places I dropped in, on a whim. Enjoyed the food immensely and glad I did. Was 1st customer of the day, so food was quick to arrive. Small talk isn't my forte, and waitress engaged me in such, but I got thru it. :) Staff is definitely nice. Location a bear to figure out the entrance. I'd come back without question.

We have been wanting to try this place for a long time, as we drive by it time and again. We finally got the chance this past weekend and we are glad we did! We had some great discussions with the owner(who was our server, as well) and other patrons at the bar. Plus the food was great! We received large portions that satisfied with enough for another meal later. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the fried and homemade potato chips were delicious. I was able to play a little keno and we both had an ice cold brew/cocktail on a hot summer day! All in all a great experience and we will definitely return. I also want to comment that this place is perfect for family as well, we just preferred to sit at the bar, there is plenty of seating throughout the restarting in a very laid back, comfortable setting.

Bad Larry’s is the perfect name for this place. We ordered takeout and boneless chicken wings were basically frozen, soggy tiny chicken patties ““ tossed and honey mustard really just had like a tiny bit on it. The salad was a very average salad, The burger wasn’t supposed to have anything on it besides cheese and bacon, but it came with everything and no ketchup on the side. There was barely any sauce on the burger, which, if there was enough sauce, the burger would’ve been fine I guess. We weren’t given any utensils for the takeout or I’m not gonna lie. Hopefully, they can improve things to become good Larrys

Food is average at best. My wife got a burger and it was un edible. I got a Stromboli but it came as a calzone. Drinks were very good. Bartender was great. We will probably give it another shot. We just need to learn the menu and ehat they do well.

PROS: friendly service - the girl at the front was very friendly and efficient. Nice interior. Good potato skins, great appetizer combo plate. Food was ready on time and very hot. Cons: chicken finger breading was very very dark, edible - but it made me wonder what they were fried in. Curly fries were underdone and onion ring batter had no flavor and fell off in flakes leaving you with half cooked onion. Parking is a bit hard, although it does say there is parking in the rear that I was unable to find. I’d be interested to try some other things we saw on the menu but this one didn’t hit a home run.

Freshly made for each order. The food is great, popcorn chicken or thin crust pizza are to good go too options!

Like some others, a few years in the past I had an underwhelming experience. However, lately this place has really turned things around for the better. Staff is friendly, I've tried pizza, sandwiches and a couple Entrees - food is good and the ambiance is improving as more people return here. If you haven't tried it in a while and were not happy, I'd recommend giving them another shot. Reasonable sized bar, some specialty drinks, hightops and tables for groups.

We have wanted to try this place for a while as we have seen it driving to Hannaford's from Shirley. If you want to sit at the bar and drink some beers? By all means, I'm sure they can open cold bottles of beer OK. Their food and professionalism sucks at the highest level. I ordered (for delivery) the seafood platter with Xtra shrimp, haddock, clam strips. lemons, tarter sauce. I also ordered a 2L Pepsi and a lemonade The order arrived without the Pepsi and lemonade. Only (1) tarter sauce. (1) lemon. The haddock had a 3/8" of flourly batter covering that tasted like it came out of an air fryer, not deep fried. Pus the haddock was exceptionally dry. Mark of overcooking. The shrimp was equally ill-battered as it did not stick when trying to eat. The fries were soggy BIGTIME as they chose to stick the haddock pieces on top of the fries. The clam strips were not fresh, I should have just gone to therocery store and bought my own. They would have been cooked properly andnot dried out pieces of shit. If you want good food? Avoid this dump. There are plently of quality places around. This establishment's forte is obviously serving alcohol. Never again. I hop that I sapre some of you from the same waste of time/money. I'm disgusted.

I have tried Bad Larry's over the last few years and had complaints. No More! Now I'm a regular! The hair hanging in food is done, the food has flavor! And the bar is great! Ok, I have to amend that. I've tried ordering from their ToGo window and it's a mess. They aren't familiar with the menu, I try to order based on the menu on my phone, they don't get it. I ask what's available, they don't know. The one thing they got right, the girl told me to go in the bar and order, they know more. So I did. I won't order at the window. But The Bar! Exceptional! They know the menu, they order what you want, it's great!

We go here frequently. Menu has variety, food is always good. Only feedback I can offer is I see the specials posted on FB but I can't order them online. The staff is usually so busy I'd love to have access to those specials without calling in.

The Help should not be allowed to use their cell phones. Food is just so so, service is poor , at best . Zero Ambiance. Didn't feel Welcomed, things were not clean, silverware needed washing. Should be called Most Terrible Larry's.

Service sucks ass. Waited 15 mins at a table and got nothing. No drink no menu and there wasnt anyone in there. Do not go here. The waitress and business does not want to make money. Do not go here. Place will be out of business soon. The name bad larrys doesn't do it any justice it should be called awful terrible larrys. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

BEWARE this place will try and scam you!! We had a group of 4 and the place was empty. The table was sticky, the bartender was also the server but was on her phone constantly. We were given a table menu. I ordered the Steak Tips which were $17 dollars and change, I ordered them medium, they came out rare and the server was trying to tell me it was medium. So, we sent them back, they were still not right but not worth the fight. The others in the group ordered a burger, which was cooked unevenly with some raw areas, the Lobster Roll which was small and dripping mayo out the sides and lastly the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo which was so thick and flavorless. Then the check comes, the steak tips were $21 dollars, which was $3 more than the menu said, and the burger and the alfredo were upped $1 plus from the menu. I questioned the server on the prices, and she proceeds to say that those aren't the prices and goes and grabs a takeout menu to show me. I said you gave us the table menus and if the prices were different why aren't you giving out the correct menu. I would have NEVER paid $21 for 5 small steak tips and frozen broccoli. She was getting a bit argumentative but agreed to take the $3 off for the steak but not the other meals. HORRIBLE. Stay clear from this place, the food was not good by any means, the service was lacking, the place was dirty, and they are overcharging purposely.

6/6/2024: Parking was adequate, nice New England town. Clean and large dining area and bar. Plenty on the menu with excellent choices. I had the cheeseburger with french fries and a fried pickle. The burger was perfectly made to order, the bun was fresh and not overwhelmed with condiments. The food was worth the wait. Service was less than fair, no greeting, no offer to seat, no menu until requested. Server spent all the time on the cell phone while I was there, I guess not much to do. Server noticed me when I walked in, asked me once if everything was all right and handed me the check when I asked for it. I paid with a twenty and waited for my change which the server assumed was their tip. I should have said something, but not worth it. Sad ending for a great meal, I won't be going back. I never felt welcomed, not in the least bit.

We've lived in Lunenburg for about 6 months. Bad Larry's is our go to place. They don't have a lot of staff but those they have are great. They couldn't be more friendly. We love Jacklyn and Bradley! It's like that place where everybody knows your name. We've had almost everything on the menu. Buffalo chicken is so good. The quesadillas are delicious. I order half and I still take some home. The cocktails are yummy and they have a great variety of beers on tap. My husband loves IPA's and they usually have some good ones on tap.

Best food in town! The quesadillas, and tender are my go to! So many sauces as well. Owner Al is awesome! Great atmosphere and friendly service.

While we have enjoyed this restaurant for takeout occasionally over the past couple years. It does seem like that are more inconsistent than not these days. We decided to get takeout tonight from there for dinner. I ordered the Ruben with fries. And my wife the chicken stir fry. Her meak was ok. So ill base this on mine. First off. The reasons I love these Ruben is not just the meat and slaw. But the marble rye it comes with. Not today apparently. And I asked for fries with it. And you'll see amount I got in the photo. Lots of money for disappointment.

I really haven't had much from here. I can just tell the chicken tenders they use are freshly breaded as opposed to frozen from a bag. They're good.

Went there about 5 months ago after are terrible experience. It was a new spot that just opened so we gave it another shot and sat down this time to eat instead of ordering take out. The set up was weird. It's kind of a pizza joint take out spot. But they have tables for a restaurant experience? We sat down it took a while for someone to wait on us. The glasses and silverware were kind of dirty. But like I said it's a pizza place that waits on you? We ordered the Mac and cheese bites for a app. The presentation was a little off, as they put them in a weird ceramic dish? Either way they were pretty tasty. As to wether they actually made them there or just ordered them from a food service company and fried them is debatable. They were perfectly shaped, everyone of them. But like I said they weren't to bad! I ordered a buf chicken salad and she got a Greek salad. Salads weren't all that bad either. Nothing gourmet by any means, it's what you would expect at a pizza shop. The Down part is now the meals and food is priced at a sit down restaurant price point. Which this place is not and the food is not on par with a sit down restaurant. Now the place has been changed to "Bad Larrys" not sure what that is or what happened? There is a bar in the place as well but no one is really sure what is going on in terms of the food and bar. Could be a little clearer. But unfortunately I don't foresee this place staying in business to much longer.

I order from here once a week and the food is always hot and very good. I told them I had my dog at work and they sent him a bag of bacon. Love this place! Nice, small family business.

We enjoyed a quick meal before our sons football game. The gentleman was quick to seat us at the bar and our order was in quick too. It wasn't busy and the food came out quick and we were able to get to our game in time. I had the Larry burger, very good! Loved the fried pickle on top! We would go here again!

Yikes - tried this place twice, once a year ago and they were packed with an art show. One bartender trying to handle a lot solo, however, he spent a lot of time conversing with patrons and not waiting on customers. Ordered two beers and 15 minutes later still hadn't been served, so we left. This spring, went in on an afternoon with only a few people. Bartender was friendly, but again service was horrid. Took awhile to be acknowledged at bar - then when order for food finally came there were no utensils, had to wait until someone showed in bar area to get them (several minutes). To her credit, she apologized and said "it's usually not this bad". Waiting for the bill in an empty bar area was pushing 10 minutes however. The good news - food was good and nice beer selection, friendly staff. I will try again but hopefully the service picks up the pace.

They suck. Bad Larry's is a perfect name. They prepare food without gloves & after handling money. Food is often undercooked. Staff doesn't have a clue. Bad....Bad.....Bad...... don't waste your money.

Went here for the first time ever with a friend - it was fantastic! Our server, Kat, was so kind and engaging in conversation. The loaded fries were to die for, meals were great and the drinks were just right! Can't wait to go back.

Love the Potatoe skins, the bacon is crisp and the cheese is bountiful! Then order the turkey club and share it with a friend.

Stopped in for late lunch and a beer. The staff was super down to earth and nice. I had the Fat Larry Burger. It was awesome. One of those big burgers when you are starving and was delicious. It had mozzarella sticks on it which was such a great pairing. I would defiantly come back and recommend to others. Check them out!

The Pizza is awesome most of the time. Downside is, sometimes it is not. I have had other people say the same thing to me. Consistency can be off. Guessing it depends on who makes the pizzas. My favorite is the BBQ chicken pizza. Tonight it had a slight almost weird beer flavor to it and not much BBQ sauce. I will go back because as I said, when made right it's delicious. I will also say the staff is always very friendly.

The food was good. The service was definitely a bit slow. The servers attitude was pleasant though. Overall I can't complain.

I have given this establishment dozens of chances. But I can't give them my business anymore. My review is of the takeout. I have only eaten in a few times, that seems fine. I order there almost every Friday night and have for quite sometime. I live right down the street. Often the order isn't ready when we get there at the time given. I don't mean a few minutes, like a half hour or more. Or, the order wasn't put in and we have to wait, or we go home and come back, or the order is wrong when we get home. The latest is that they ran out of an ingredient to make a sandwich. Which was the actual meat to make said sandwich!! Only to find this out when I show up. I asked why didn't they call, they said they had, but I had no missed calls, and my phone is always on. It's almost become comical. The only reason for 2 stars is for the few times dining in

I wouldn't eat here again if the food was free. Bad reviews are also being buried by yelp, scroll down to the bottom to see. The challenge lies in service as staff seem inexperienced and forget little things. Service is an opportunity to set them apart with that "neighborhood feel" but they are lacking. Staff argue and complain on floor, sit at bar seats during service hours, on their phones constantly and seem less worried about making sure customers are happy and experience is positive. I hope the owner can turn it around quickly as I was always hoping a place like this would open in the center and I don't want to see a small business fail. Good luck! Visited again, service continues to be slow and sub par. Take out ready 20 minutes after time given and it did not seem very busy. Maybe give it one more try to see if staff can be trained better.

Ordered an Italian grinder for takeout and not only was the meat skimpy but what meat there was sliced very thin. Lots of lettuce & onions to make it seem fuller. Homemade chips were very good. This is the 3rd time we have tried them and it's a nice place and would like to see them do well but they need to step up the food. Other than the chicken fingers which are fantastic we haven't been satisfied.

Tried this place looking for a venue with outdoor seating. Sat on the patio and waited 15 minutes until my husband had to go ask for service outside. The server, who was the only bright spot in this place, was friendly and warm and warranted the one star. Our appetizer took 15 minutes. Our food took 15 minutes after that delivery. They claimed they were understaffed, but there were (and I counted) 8 people in the place, including us. The kitchen, and I looked (because it's easy to see in by the bathrooms), had 2 cooks working. There is NO reason this place should have been operating like this on a Friday night. Food was mediocre at best. My husband's Italian was skimpy on meat and unimpressive. My crispy chicken club was almost impossible to eat because it was too big to fit in my mouth. I had to cut it up into tiny pieces. And my daughter's cheese pizza tasted like frozen pizza. I feel like the owner is trying to be a "full-service" restaurant, but is operating on a "take-out" mentality. Get it together, dude. Will never go back. I recommend you don't try it at all. Save your money and go somewhere else. Any chain restaurant would be better than this.

Had an amazing burger, was the Fat Larry Burger! Let me tell you, it was amazing....from the fried pickle on top all the way through the big burger, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks IN it. Can't beat it! Great food, great staff! Definitely will be back to try the BFL (Big Freakin Larry Burger). Highly recommended!

I thought I would give this another try. I had company and we thought Pizza, that will be quick. 2 hours later the delivery arrived. The pizza was mediocre and the fries and onions rings were bland. It was better than last time, but still not worth my $$.

Our first time here and most likely our last . The food was so so. The Reuben club was very dry, and had no dressing. The onion rings were very doughy and dry. Though the fried pickles were very good . We went because it's local and heard it had dart boards . No score board but the darts were ok . We had higher hopes . Though for choices in town, it's not much worse than all the others .

The food here is outstanding especially the Steak Tip Dinner! The staff is super-attentive without bugging you. The outdoor patio is almost done but the inside is clean and comfy, and the décor is interesting also. Ladies will like the clean fully stocked bathroom and seniors will like the easy access and affordable prices. Zedas is a Great place to eat out, take out from or hang out in at the bar!!! We love it!!!! Two thumbs up Al, Adam and Daisy.

I really enjoy the food here it's fresh, good portions, and decent prices. I normally get fish and chips or a salad. The service is friendly and welcoming

Hardly had Ham on Grinder x2 Times.. But they made up for it. Tasted great... Pizza is Good.. At least they learn from mistakes.

Worst service ever. Will never go back. Attendant took over 10 mins to get our drinks and he asked us then if he had already taken our order and told him no, we've been waiting 10 mins. He seemed put out and there was only 2 other patrons at the bar. After 35 mins we cancelled our food order bc we couldn't wait any longer and the patron next to us asked to get her lunch to go when ready as she needed to go as well. No apologies or explanation for the terrible service.

It's sad that I joined this app as a start only to post a terrible review. First off this was not a one time visit to Very Bad Larry's! I tried, salads, pizza and others only to have them under cooked, overpriced and bland before. I waved them off for a year. While I get that things happen when it comes to food prep you can't control, customer service can help that. So, that is my biggest complaint here. Finally tonight I broke down and gave them another try. I ordered a Meatball sub, said it came with chips (not) and asked to substitute coleslaw for rice on a $12 dollar haddock meal (size of a very Small sunfish). Neither came with my order. After I got home, I drove all the way back only to get attitude from the manager who almost tossed me both with an "attitude" after I was ready to pay for the aforementioned cold but now not included but on the menu "on the house!!" chips. Try 4 of "you really need to try them again" gets me a big "WTF was I thinking". What a waste for a prime spot in the center of our town. But after years of good food from the old village grill...what do I know? Buyer be aware of any good reviews. My guess is they get to drink for free.

I've never eaten there so I can't speak to that but we ordered take out from them twice in the last two months since the first time was sooo good! We had the chicken tenders the first time that tasted fresh, not frozen. Great selection of sauces, we ended up with the garlic Parmesan and honey bbq which were great. Second time we tried the pizza which was sooooo delicious, Jamaican jerk chicken pizza and the rodeo bbq. Fair warning, the Jamaican jerk pizza was realllly spicy but so good! They seemed to have teenagers/young adults working there but both times picking up the take out they were friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend bad Larry's for take out!

I keep wanting to go back to get a better experience but it just never gets better. I've ordered delivery multiple times and they forget to bring food when they deliver so I have to call back to receive what I've payed for. This most recent time they took my phone number to get my address but didn't clarify that address with me so they delivered to the wrong house. Didn't call to tell me or ask me about it. I called an hour and a half later and was like "oh your pizza is waiting here for you". The food is now cold and I'm upset.

The judge of a good place restaurant takeout pub food is the burger and the half pound handmade Burger bfl big frickin Larry was amazing being old I only ordered one Patty and it was freakin good the fries the service even Shaun the bartender very attentive very good and stuff I highly recommend here if you want to have a nice sandwich sub Pizza local place in , even has Keno that is all

I recommend that you do not go here. Service is terrible. We were the only people in the bar. First, I asked for a water and got a club soda. Second, I asked for a side Caesar salad and got a garden salad so they had to go fix it. Mind you, we were the ONLY people in the bar. Lastly, after eating, we waited a good 10-15 min for the bartender to come back. I had to yell back to have her come over. Terrible, terrible service. Food was mediocre. I will not be going back. Can't see this place lasting...

We have ordered from here on several occasions. We have continued to give them chance after chance to not only be timely but get our order right but they continue to disappoint. I can understanding growing pains for opening a new restaurant but they have run out for us. The last time we ordered they got our whole order wrong and not only that it took them over an hour to deliver it. When I called to tell them they had an attitude I wanted it redelivered with what we actually ordered. They also did nothing to make up for it. We ordered originally at 6:30 and did not get the right order till after 9. This time it was again over an hour and a half to get the food. A simple sorry or even offer a 2 litter to make up for their mistakes would go a long way.

Not a bad place. I mean, don't go in expecting 5 star service and then leave a 2 star rating, dummy. It is what it is and that's all it is. Quaint little eatery with expensive art on the walls. I'll be back!

Went for lunch today. Service was terrible. Took a drink order and left. Came back awhile later to take a food order, without drinks. Then took order for the two kids, and abruptly left to get the drinks. She didn't take the order for the three adults in the group. Brought the drinks after we asked her to please take our order. Kids food came out long before ours. We had no silverware when she dropped off our food order, and complained to another staff person that this was because the night staff failed to do something. After reading about similar stories on FB and on Yelp, I won't go again. Two stars because the food was generally ok. Not great, ok.

I just went here this rainy Wednesday afternoon, and brought both my father and one of his long-time friends along. We arrived around 1300 or so and it was pretty slow, so were seated immediately. We ordered our meals and had them in about twenty minutes or so. I had the Ruben with a side of the chips for about $10 - both were excellent - the Ruben was thick with just the right proportions of bread to beef to slaw, and the bread good quality and toasted, so it was neither soggy nor dry in the least. The chips were perfect - thick cut but with just enough bite - and they make them from scratch on location, I'll probably order those in the future. My father had the burger, and his friend had a salad topped with marinated beef, and both agreed that they were great as well. I think we spend about $35 total for the three of us. The prices are about what you would expect for a restaurant, and in my opinion this is quality food, it's worth the price. It's located in a small sort of plaza, so there are a couple other stores nearby you can take a look at while you're there. If you are visiting, I'd recommend the place for a stopover. I'll probably take other friends there as well, now that I know it's a nice quiet place, especially in the afternoon. In summary: good food for an acceptable price, nice location with parking in front and back, great place to meet a couple friends for lunch.

FYI This business renamed itself "Bad Larry's Bar and Grill" sometime in October 2016. UPDATE: I have been to this place five or six times since writing my original review, in which I expressed hopes that they could be very good in time. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. If anything, they have gotten worse. Prices have gone up, portions have gotten smaller, and quality has gone down. I used to get a sandwich and chips that now costs $12 and probably has half the meat in it than it once did. They have also screwed my order up multiple times in numerous ways that I will spare readers from listing. I might still go to Zedas in a pinch because I live very close by, but please, DO NOT GO OUT OF YOUR WAY ORIGINAL REVIEW: I will update this review when Zedas is more well established, but I have been impressed so far. This place JUST opened (on the day I am posting this). The restaurant was pretty quiet, but that is to be expected on their first night. Atmosphere looked quite good, the food was overall good. There are certainly things to improve on, but I think a lot of that will come with time (eg. pizza was just OK, freshly made chips had no salt on them which I thought was a bit odd, and the sub had far less meat in it than you would expect). Overall looking great though, and I would definitely recommend checking it out , especially if you are a Lunenburg resident. Also, they have a full bar, which is a great addition.

I was so disappointed with the customer service that I received at this pizza place. I had ordered from them in the past for a few pizza parties that I have had for my classroom when they were under a different name. At those times they have been friendly, on time, and reliable. Everyone loved the pizza! I held a pizza party for 20 students the day before December break. I ordered 2 party pizzas the day before, and gave my address leaving my personal cell phone number so that I could be reached easily should the driver get confused arriving at a school. I confirmed the time of delivery for 11:15. The next day I placed my first call to the main line at 11:30, as the pizza was already late and we were on a tight schedule with holiday celebrations. The owner told me he would call the driver. I again gave him my direct cell phone number to give to the driver. The driver called me and said she was at the main door. I waited at the door for over 20 minutes, and called her cell phone 5 times afterwards. I also spoke to the manager again, who told me that "the driver went out of her way to deliver for me since I didn't tell them which school I was at." I assured him that I had. After a total of 6 phone calls, the pizza arrived over 35 minutes late. During this time we had 20 anxious students waiting. I called back after school and asked to speak to the a manger. I have never had a more disappointing experience in my life. Not only was she dismissive and defensive, she was confrontational and arrogantly rude. Her explanation for the tardiness and disorganization was that she was a new business owner and had two staff members quit. When I explained that I had placed the order the day before, she interrupted me and stated "let me stop you right there. How was I supposed to know that someone was going to quit?!" She also informed me that "she used to work at the school and knows everyone there." She offered no remedy to the problem, and made it seem that I had been more of a burden than a customer. I give credit to new business owners, and understand the stress it must take to get through the first few weeks. However, I have never felt more disappointed and disrespected than my experience with this manager. I will never again order from them.

Same owners and staff as the old Centre Pizza (where they stored pizza boxes above the employee toilets and never cleaned). Overpriced poor quality food. Literally 1.5x more than anywhere else around. The soups are heated Campbell's for 5x the price. Steak & Cheese start at $10. Pizza sauce is way too sweet. Bread is gummy. Homemade chips are gross and cooked in dirty oil. They should be ashamed of calling this a restaurant but the joke is on the community for giving them any money at all. The old female bartender is psychotic and more drunk than the patrons. They put everything into styrofoam (even subs) with no vent holes, so the food is soggy when you get it to go. The place looks nice, but don't let the appearance fool you. They should have invested 1/2 the money they spent on decor on recipes and cooks instead. Eat dirt before you eat their food. Seriously. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else!

Went there for the first time a bit ago and ordered a chicken parm sandwhich over the phone. Went to pick it up and they forgot to start the sandwhich. After waiting a while they said the wrong chicken was used and started a new sandwhich. After finally getting my order the sandwhich was subpar and expensive compared to other local sub shops. Also messed up a pizza delivery to my house. Won't be eating here again.
