Bad Luck Bar

Unfortunately, my friends and I got very sick from eating oysters at happy hour. A few of them smelled and tasted rotten, while others were just really fishy. We didn’t ask for anything to be comped, but I really wish I didn’t eat here. I only had two oysters because I was afraid and I’m glad I didn’t have more. The bartender also seemed very disinterested in helping us when I came up to the empty bar to order. The bar back tried her best. It feels irresponsible to serve spoiled raw seafood. Please be more careful!

I like the vibe in this local neighborhood bar. Open concept around the center bar with few tables, patio and standing spots. Lights were mostly red The bartender (s) were super friendly and service was excellent. The cocktails we ordered were perfectly done. Menu has food too. Have nothing against them, and I wish them best of luck on their business.

A great local haunt in BedStuy, this place is always buzzing. Very laid back and light on the frills, this bar has a great happy hour that actually ends at a reasonable time )7 pm!), friendly hardworking bartenders, and surprisingly good food (even if the menu is limited). It does get really loud inside once there’s a critical mass, so this isn’t the place for a deep, meaningful convo. If you want less noise, they do have outdoor seating, but I’ve never tried it myself. Prices are super reasonable, and the bar tenders try to keep the service moving at a good clip. Definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby and looking for something low key.

Great place for a drink and some fantastic oysters! To be honest... My first oyster and it did not disappoint. Great guys running the place! Will definitely hit it up again next time I'm in NYC!

This bar is so cozy and great. I’m a vegetarian, and there’s a very delicious eggplant sandwich they just added to the menu. Saxon and Harry were very attentive bartenders and made the experience so great

Perfect low-key spot for a light bite and good drinks. Menu is ideal if you’re not trying to do a full dinner but still want something to snack on. Cocktails are fun without being pretentious, and the bartenders are attentive. Great place for starting or ending your night.

This place stinks - literally! They changed their menu to oily and fishy items. I’ve left this bar and people have commented on how bad I smell like fish. It’s unfortunate and it used to not be this way! Service is good but darn they have to fix the smell.

This local haunt has a good vibe, very small interior with loud music and red LEDs if you're feeling that, or you can opt for the outdoor sidewalk seating with little stools and a bar for people watching. The prices were very reasonable, you could get a beer for $5 but I opted for the Japanese yuzu lager for $8, and they were able to make a fizzy mocktail for my friend off-menu. Staff were kind and the food looked good, I'd come back for a cocktail and some snacks for sure! There was a bit of fun décor inside but I always wish that bars had one memorable thing to set them apart from the default bk bar and give them an identity, not a gimmick just a little special element, so I wish that had been present here. Also there was very limited seating and we had to hover for a bit to even snag spots outside, it was super cramped indoors and a little stuffy and too loud for my taste, but that's nyc bars for you. Great if you're looking for a solid spot to grab a quick drink and head out.

Terrific small neighborhood bar with a great happy hour and very reasonable prices (by current standards anyway). 13 oysters and 2 drinks 33 dollars. Oysters were fine, but not amazing. Well amazing at that price.Only a couple of drinks available for this special, but we had the royal martini which was great.. Other cocktails reasonably priced --very reasonable at happy hour 5 to 7 pm. We enjoyed a Negroni which was quite nice. Bar menu also good. We had a Spanish Tortilla--very nice. Nice service. Good vibe. Will be back.

Posting a couple of menus because they can be hard to find online since this far is new. I think they might change a little still, but I get the sense that this is a fairly representative menu. I really like that they have the greatest hits of our food there. Very compact, efficient menu. Their oyster happy hour deal is 13 oysters and two drinks for $33. So bring a friend. when I went the oysters were pink moon, so pretty legit oysters. Nice place. Cool and cozy. That neighborhood has the best bars... Friendly staff. Great prices on cocktails, and some interesting ones at that.

I've been here twice in 4 days. Well, I forgot a bag and it was still intact when I can't to pick it up. But then I sat down and had a drink...well 3! And everything was goodt. It's so chill and every patron has a great personality. I feel safe and seen and invited here. And I'll be coming back. I had the watermelon margarita and it's refreshing. The deluxe martini is smooth and a tad sweet versus savory. And they make a perfect tequila gimlet. Tias is a bartender here and he's the best. So sweet and engaging. I had the Sicilian pizza and it was tasty. I'll be back. It's only been open for 4 months but it's a keeper.

Vibey spot, and good menu. Low stars for low-grade service. At least on Sundays. Inattentive bar staff is only excusable when the bar is big- and this one is not.

A great spot to visit and in my neighborhood great drinks and great atmosphere, they even have some tasty seafood, happy hour and a good selection on drinks ! Music is sometimes loud but you can, sit outside and enjoy people watching

Kind people, good drinks, cleanly shucked oysters, amazing fries. Bad Luck Bar is easily one of my top bars in the city.

Chill ambiance inside + great lighting. Service at the bar was attentive & they serve the sides of lime in a little shot glass which is fun. Fries were standout; perfect fry & well seasoned. The brat was garnished with choice accoutrements + tasty each bite. Great price! Made an ideal bar snack paired with a High Life & lime.

This used to my first date bar of choice because the B44 bus stops right in front and if the date went badly I could look up the schedule and run out and get on the bus and go home! The menu changes a lot but the drinks are always good.

Very easy to miss from the outside but you'll be so glad you find it. Warm red lights, small and intimate bar with a good playlist going, and approachable staff and crowd. Love the Nostrand Fizz, somehow had an unexpected fennel taste which could be considered a polarizing flavor but I liked that it was still light and refreshing. I'm not a mezcal person in the slightest but theirs was chilled and somehow bright/citrusy, which I found it quite tasty. We didn't stay for the long but when we walked out, it felt like we were brought "back to reality." A fun escape to help you wind down from the daily grind.

This is a plucky little-neighborhood-bar-that-could that makes you feel like you're sitting in an updated version of a 1920's Parisian expat hangout. It's an easy place to start up a conversation with strangers at the bar. The menu is limited, but good - I've enjoyed the wings, the fries, and the oysters. The cocktails are also quite good. I see the owner there frequently, and he and his team seem dedicated to making it a fun place to be.

Lovely bar with disgusting bathroom. The food is very good and it is lovely ambiance inside. Quite small and packed on weekends. I will be back for sure

What a vibe! Pete and friends are always welcoming and warm. They have an amazing playlist every time and the pizza makes me nostalgic. If you know... you know.

A little advice from a 4 time James Beard Award winner. Tell your bar team to put their phones away during service. 8 people in the the bar and I've been sitting here waiting for a cocktail for over 10 minutes. Are you at work or nah?

Somewhat of a new bar to the area. Really great vibe and a few outdoor seats too. Love that they do a nice happy hour and have orange wine. Oysters are great too. New fav neighborhood spot for sure. Great for dates and friends just catching up.

Accidentally ran into this bar while on a walk with a friend. Thought the name was cool and walked inside. The vibe feels like you're in the 70s with disco ball in the top. The way that the bar is set up is hella cool. It's like a round shaped, that fills most of the space. Drinks are worth the price and not too pricey. I got a Whiskey and was pretty solid after two of them. Plus got some fries cause they look hella good. I tried the little pizza flat bread thing, but wasn't a fan. Imma start coming here pretty often. A lil date night. Not too loud. Definitely recommend. The bartender was cool and the cook was cool. Very chill night.

Intimate space with great cocktails and the perfect selection of bites... including oysters. The employees are friendly and very welcoming. Went here with a friend can't wait to take my boyfriend.

One of those spots that makes you feel like "Everybody knows your name" when you walk it! Love this small and intimate spot.

What a find! Tiny little local bar with a few great apps. Great stop for drinks & a bite to eat. Shared some fries with an interesting spicy kick to them & some good Sicilian slices of pizza. Don't miss this place if your in the area!

please bring back the bratwurst pretty good. kinda hipstery and has a theater kids vibe to it. negroni pitcher is good. but please bring back the brats. the east la dogs suck. and the ceasar salad too why are we getting rid of the best stuff
