Bad Owl Coffee opens Downtown in November - Eater Vegas

"The downtown branch is now promised to debut in early November, replacing a shuttered Starbucks on the ground floor of the Bank of America Plaza at the intersection of Fourth Street and Bridger Avenue. Currently hiring baristas, future employees are being advised the coffee shop will serve a full lunch menu, expected to import choices found in Henderson, including sandwiches, pastries, waffles, quiche, and toast prepared with avocado, or pear and prosciutto. Still to announce its future opening hours, coffee fans in the neighborhood will also be able order Bad Owl’s affogatos, cortados, nitro brews, and very popular lavender lattes." - Bradley Martin

Google
Really chill coffee shop in the Bank of America building. Perfect for when you need a place to chill and have some coffee. Their drip and regular coffees are pretty good! I also tried their overnight oats and breakfast croissant and they were delicious. Will keep coming back here whenever I am in town.

Google
I had a fantastic experience at this coffee shop! The variety of coffee choices was impressive, and the server went above and beyond to prepare a mouthwatering breakfast croissant for me. The Chai tea I ordered was also quite delightful. Moreover, the location was conveniently within walking distance from the Fremont area. I highly recommend this place!

Google
My partner and I stopped by for a coffee before we went to the strip, and saw this place as we were walking round downtown. The place is really quiet, with a warming atmosphere and the servers were really friendly. We ordered two cold coffees and both did not disappoint, I had a banana flavoured one whilst my partner had a pumpkin variant which he also enjoyed. We didn’t get food as this wasn’t an option when we visited, however, I can imagine it would be decent - and prepared cleanly!

Google
Super cute Harry Potter themed cafe! We were visiting Las Vegas from Slc and found this cute place! Super nice staff and I loved the Matcha! My husband enjoyed a hot chai. Street parking is available off street and there’s a parking garage, $3 per hour I believe, that leads into the building. It’s a cute place, very cozy, and worth stopping in!

Google
I had a fantastic experience at Bad Owl Coffee on 10/17/23. The ambiance is amazing, providing a cozy environment to enjoy your coffee. The overnight oats were delightfully creamy and delicious, and the cappuccino was absolutely perfect. But what stole the show for me was the chai latte; it was the best I’ve ever had. Even though the barista was working alone at 8am, she did an incredible job. She was friendly, kept her cool despite the rush of customers, and everything I tried tasted fantastic. Bad Owl Coffee is a must-visit for coffee lovers!

Google
LOVE this location! Happy to find it closer to home, but I'll still travel into Henderson for their other location. This one's located on the ground floor of a downtown office building. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee is good, light breakfast items (that I've had) are tasty and the atmosphere in here is calming. This would be my escape from a hectic and yucky world every day if i were in this building. Definitely a nice, 5* stop. Just know if you're driving down here you'll need to pay to park.

Google
Okay full disclosure, a name like "Bad Owl" does not seem like a good omen. Why is the Owl bad? What will the vibes be like here? Well, GOOD NEWS! This place is really cool. They have TWO flavors of beignets! And TWO types of green tea! That's an A+ in my book. :) The decor is cool and full of books. Pro-tip - this downtown location closes at 2PM (!!!) so get your self in the door bright and early!

Google
WOW! I had a peaceful morning experience at Bad Owl. There was only one barista that was kind, attentive and worked very hard during the busy morning. Their overnight oats came in a hefty portion for the price and the Chai Latte was fantastic! Coffee wise, I appreciate how open they are about where their beans come from and how they are processed. This makes it very easy to find the perfect beans catered to your taste. Overall, I recommend to anyone looking to find a new favorite spot!

Yelp
Truly the best coffee I've had in vegas! Most coffee isn't that memorable in Vegas but Bad Owl truly was! I've been here 2 times and gotten the oat-chatta latte, roasted almond latte, and the Biscoff latte. By far, the almond latte ranks 1 and oat-chatta latte 2! I had the almond one to go and even then, it was phenomenal! They put roasted almond chunks on the latte. I also got an avocado everything bagel which includes cream cheese, avocado, and housemade everything seasoning. I think about this concoction often! The aesthetic was minimal to Harry Potter if you are expecting Harry Potter decor; it's not that much for the decor. Truly they make some of the best lattes I've had in Vegas, and it's a lot! Plenty of parking outside and seating is ample during the weekdays. Give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Small coffee roasters in a business building. Food menu with delicious-sounding options, baked items as well as many original coffee creations. Nice ambiance and friendly service.

Yelp
Add a little magic into your day with this cute corner coffee shop with cozy sitting corners and bookish decorations. I tried the iced biscoff latte with oatmilk which was very tasty. My husband enjoyed his cold brew. I also loved the other unique coffee flavors on their menu with cute emojis and icons to help differentiate when you order. I saw pumpkin, Ube, matcha, and other unique flavors

Yelp
Oh my! We stumbled across this coffee shop near my house. A friend and I enjoyed the most absolutely delicious lattes! Parking is not the most convenient but this is the perfect place to go to while walking around downtown! Super cozy environment and friendly staff. They said they have other locations that have extended hrs compared to this location. I will most def be going back for a latte!

Yelp
I didn't know anything about Bad Owl Coffee Roasters before stepping into this location. I just assumed it was your usual, mom-and-pops little coffee shop. Boy was I wrong. Some of the recipes on their menu were just so damn creative! I love unique food, and so I couldn't contain my excitement; I struggled to make a decision! Eventually I landed on the banana cold brew latte, and the bacon, egg, and avocado brioche. My husband got a kyoto cold brew with their exquisite peanut butter banana toast. Our son got an apple juice and chocolate muffin, which they toasted for him and he gobbled up immediately. My banana cold brew was heavenly. The toppings had some toffee crunch to it - so don't get a straw when they ask if you want one. And the overall flavoring was sweet, but not too sweet. I just love banana-based desserts, so naturally I would love to sip on this with my breakfast every morning! All the food we received was made with obvious care, presentment, and flavor combination intent. My breakfast brioche was piled high with gorgeous ingredients. My avocado was cut in thin, long slices placed delicately between the succulent bacon and fluffy folded egg layers. My husband's toast was gorgeous, and put together with more than just the ingredients in the title. There was also cocoa powder, almonds, and honey. And the bread itself was just so thick and fresh tasting. We've been attempting to imitate this toast at home ever since. I was incredibly impressed with the food service we were provided at Bad Owl Coffee Roasters. It's clear the employees take great pride in what they do, or the quality would not be to this level of absolute loveliness.

Yelp
I'm writing this because to be totally disregarded as a female by 2 other females is absolutely ridiculous.. I asked to use the bathroom at 1:58 and they close at 2pm. BUT MIND YOU, I started my period while in Bank of America and blood literally dripping down my leg clearly visible to these employees and they closed the door on me and refused to let me use the bathroom. Had NO SYMPATHY at all. This is absolutely horrible customer service and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I will be contacting their manager and HR.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute location, only open during the weekdays and it's inside of a bank building? My last visit to Vegas I discovered Bad Owl and visited their other location. This location is so cute and just a place I'd want to spend hours reading a book and getting away from everyone. We tried the coffee flight and it was so good, I highly recommend trying it. I love their coffee beans so much and my favorite is the Ethiopian beans or the Ibexx I believe they're called. If you're in the arts district it's a must to stop here and get their coffee.

Yelp
We stayed at Hotel Apache on Fremont Street and this was one of the closest coffee shops. We were pleasantly surprised by the nice servers, extensive menu, and Harry Potter themed decoration. We came here all three days to revive us in the morning before Life is Beautiful music festival. Items ordered: ~L'Orange Cappuccino: I drank this in under 5 minutes because it tasted so good. ~Spinach Raspberry Muffin: tasted better than it sounds. ~Chicken Pesto Sandwich ~Avocado Toast: worth the 7 dollars!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love bad owl. The Harry Potter theme is great. Not too much, but you can see the small details. All locations very cute.
google avatar

Lindsey M.

Yelp
The cutest cafe within walking distance from downtown Las Vegas. It's located street view in a beautiful work building. It has a Harry Potter theme going on with owls, bats, and HP artwork. A little quirky and quiet. People were mainly ordering coffee. We ordered two of their breakfast items, the breakfast croissant with ham and their breakfast burrito. When I saw the total, I was sticker shocked. But when I took my first bite it was well worth it. The croissant was buttery, flakey, big, and hefty with two scrambled eggs, savory ham, and cheese. Omg it was way more than I expected. Plus it came with either fruit or yogurt. The breakfast burrito was huge! And also filled with my favorite hash browns. Mmmmmmm. If you're wanting something worthy of your first meal of the day, come here!

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by Bad Owl for Coffee while visiting Vegas. We are huge Harry Potter fans so we were excited to see what this place was all about. I was a little disappointed with the decor and hoped for more Harry Potter decorations. However, it was a cute shop and the drinks were great! The lady who helped us was very friendly and made great suggestions. This is a good place to grab a coffee if you are close to Fremont Street!
google avatar

Jill P.

Yelp
Not what we expected. The Yelp reviews got us excited to try. We entered and the display case was practically empty. The menus are on 8 1/2 x 11 paper that you can't see until you get up to the cashier. Therefore you need to know what you want right away or let others continue to go ahead while you look at the menu. Too stressful for me so we left.
google avatar

Yelp
What cute little gem! Came here to work for a bit in the morning and it was nice. I had a regular drip coffee along with a blueberry muffin and a chocolate filled beignet. The barista that helped me was nice. Good wifi. The beignet just tasted like a regular donut hole but it was still good.
google avatar

Eve C.

Yelp
Coffee was fresh, and the atmosphere was also great. I swung by for lunch and it was quick and perfect for my afternoon coffee break!
google avatar

Frances L.

Yelp
A coffee shop just slightly off course of the old strip but serve amazing coffee. If you want something different from Starbucks this is it!!! This is a cool place just to hangout with friends, stay a bit away from the casino or alcohol, a place for a quick reality check.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Pretty good. People are friendly, orders can be mixed up, may have to wait for a bit unless you called something ahead, seating is pretty limited. Our order actually got lost or given to someone else, and had to check in to get it redone unfortunately. Bear in mind the cooking capacity isn't the largest so it may take a bit. Having some time to sit, this was probably the biggest bottleneck I could see. Coffee was good though, we luckily found a little tiny table to sit at and wait for the food. We had ordered a bridgeport burrito with avocado, and an avocado everything toast with taters. Food hit the spot albeit delayed by being delivered elsewhere. There's a couple different options nearby. If just for coffee this would work, but for food I would explore other options unless calling ahead and doing a pickup to save time.

Yelp
It might be a while before I try this place again. As a downtown resident for the last 9 years, I was looking for a chance to try this place out. Finally, the perfect opportunity came up. Everything fell apart so quickly and now I'm just waiting for them to refund my money. It's been about an hour. After I find someplace else to eat, I'll call them back if they haven't processed my refund yet. First things first, I need breakfast.

Victor M.

Yelp
I've been a customer of Bad Owl since I moved to Las Vegas back in 2016. I've always enjoyed their drinks, pastries, and sandwiches. However, I must say this location in downtown has been disappointing majority of my visits. Today in particular, not only were the drinks less than mediocre, but the service was on par with the quality of drinks. I will continue to visit Bad Owl but only at their Henderson and South Vegas location. P.S. Bad Owl management, why is there such disparity between the excellent service and quality at your other two locations compared to this one in downtown? Surely you all have noticed this...
google avatar

Angelina J.

Yelp
I wish they had a location in downtown Henderson. I am in love with the iced butter beer latte and avocado toast. I sit and people watch in per bliss at this cafe any day and weather.

Yelp
Beep, beep, beep... That steady heart beat thump, thump, thump... That's the rhythm my dear friends. Those bad ladies and gents here at the owl Keep my pulse alive with more and more coffee. Then more and more coffee again, Please! As I stand here six feet apart, brrrr so cold this morning needing coffee. The crew here at Bad Owl keep the mornings rolling with delicious lattes, hot steaming coffee, and shots of espresso. Now under new rules from the governor, no more inside dining. If you are lucky tables are outside; or grab and go these days with COVID. Wander with me for an afternoon journey. Where are we going? What shall we explore? I'm in the mood for a pistachio lavender latte and the big comfy chair in the corner. They make a mean pistachio latte here, just because add some dashes of lavender it's the perfect way to move more onto the explore. Let's go around the corner, that smile over yonder is beautiful and beaconing me to just be. What of our being? I'm on a way to explore more with that pistachio latte. Wander far and take the dive, made with love from the owl team. While we wander over and around my appetite has been building. What's good here? The avocado toast is a favorite of mine. Make sure and add egg. It's an extra charge, but worth the extra paper. The waffle platter comes varied with the usual breakfast delights. For those that need something quick and healthy, the steel oats. Perfection. The oats are cooked for twenty four hours then delivered to you when needed. The oats are best with a little fruit and some brown sugar. Mmmmm! In the afternoon the menu consists of sandwiches with meats and cheeses. Have a glass of wine with that lunch sandwich or perhaps a tasty refreshing IPA. All the food is made here with love and originality. The coffee hot, food delicious, if it's not what you want they can make it. The best way to latte is here with the owl team. Know that even during the new orders from the state about the virus your coffee and tea dreams are real here. Call ahead or use the social media sites to have that Mocha ready ahead of time. The dining experience has moved outdoors now with standing room only. These days of dining again in the corner in the comfy chair are on hold. Better days are around the corner. Happiness starts with the owls and continues in your car or office for maximum enjoyment. Better days are to come. Light triumphs over darkness; have that coffee to make the day even more irresistible and inspiring.

Yelp
I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan & I was so excited to come and try their version of butter beer. Sadly, it was not to my liking :/ Also, this is a Harry Potter "inspired" cafe.

Lauren B.

Yelp
Love the bookish theme! I couldn't decide between all the great-sounding drinks, and finally settled on one, but tried my brother's coffee and liked it better. The employees at the front were very accommodating and replaced it for me free of charge. Thank you!
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
I went in today and got an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun and an iced coffee. Not kidding, one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Very high quality and made well. Iced coffee is legit too. Great little coffee place.

Dolores C.

Yelp
Coffee was so good I went back for a second cup which is unusual for me at a coffee shop because I'm a slower coffee drinker. Love this place! And the decor is super cute
google avatar

D M.

Yelp
Good coffee and such an adorable place! I can't wait to go back very soon! I want to try something new each time!
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
So originally I gave the business 4 stars. But this is the second time they made my drink with regular milk when I asked and paid for oatmilk. Everyone is nice and helpful. I love the decor. But unfortunately I won't be coming back because of the repeated mistake and high prices.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Super friendly service and some of the best coffee I've ever had before! The banana latte and the butter brew were so delicious and full of flavor we had to order more! The beignet was also fantastic but was gone before a picture could be taken. We will definitely be back in the future!
google avatar

Justin P.

Yelp
Probably the best f coffee spot in downtown Las Vegas. Multiple seasonal single origin roasts available with a variety of flavors. I ordered the bananna cold brew late with a touch of mocha and it's one of my favorite sweet coffee drinks I've ever had. Come here.
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
I can honestly say, Bad Owl is one of the BEST coffee shops in Vegas. The lattes are delicious, and the croissant is baked to perfection. They have free WiFi and lots of places to sit. And there's an adorably modern book shelf with tons of reading materials. Customer service was excellent too!

Stefanie W.

Yelp
I love the butterbrew with espresso! It's so yummy, not to mention all of the Harry Potter decor and themed items. The staff is very friendly which is always a plus.

gyssen brylle J.

Yelp
Coffee is really great! Especially the one with orange a little bit sweet which suits my taste buds. For the pastries you have to try the AVALANCHE. Service is above and beyond. Although the place is a little bit over rated from tiktok, it's still a good place to visit. Chill vibes.
google avatar

Araceli R.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop! The coffee has a great strong flavor which being a coffee addict this is good. Not at all water down or tons of milk. Got the Avo egg sandwich, that balsamic drizzle on it hits a different way which makes the flavors come together with a tanginess
google avatar

Samuel O.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop that's well decorated inside. Location feels secure and interior space is not big. Music isn't distracting, and it is enough to drown side conversations. Menu is a bit small. They offer the classic drinks at an above average price point. Still, they offer signature drinks. Feeling adventurous, I tried the biscoff latte. It was good but nothing revolutionary; simply cookie butter in a good latte. I enjoyed reading in this cafe. Given the luxury, I could see myself spending hours here.
google avatar

S L.

Yelp
Visited the downtown location, parking could be tricky. It was a cute a quaint little spot! The vibes and music were great. We had the oat chata and the dark venom drip, both coffees were great! The ladies who helped were very nice and helped us decide on the drink's. Worked with our laptops WiFi password easily found! Will def return.
google avatar

Cyndi G.

Yelp
Excellent Pour Overs and friendly staff. Located in the lobby it's a great downtown location for yummy coffee. Tried the Radiant Rhino with cream and loved it.
google avatar

Cristine W.

Yelp
I enjoyed my coffee and pastry - the doughnut thing was bomb as hell, not sure what it's called. I probably would have preferred a different roast, but I think you get what you get kind of thing... Love the ambiance and appreciate that it's quieter than their other locations!
google avatar

Scott P.

Yelp
This was a really awesome little hidden gem! We were walking back to the hotel after getting our marriage license and saw this little spot, and we love owls so we had to go check 'em out! My wife got a latte and she absolutely LOVED it, and my coffee was really delicious as well. I got a bag of coffee to go and they were happy to grind it for me. There's a nice little relaxed sitting area for you to just kick your feet up, enjoy some nice music and a tasty beverage. You should definitely find this little spot and check 'em out!
google avatar

Ashley I.

Yelp
Smh... drove all the way to this location for it to be closed. Normally closes at 2pm but they closed early today with no signs on the door about an early closure.
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
What a find! Just a few blocks from the downtown casinos, a warm, calm, welcoming space with delicious and creative coffees and food. I had the banana cold brew (bananas are excellent for a hangover, btw) made with housemade banana syrup, and avocado toast with chimichurri, ricotta and pepper. Delicious!
google avatar

Sabrina H.

Yelp
It's so cute. Great service and fun lattes. I got a matcha and a burrito and both were delightful. Will totally come back.
google avatar

Melissa H.

Yelp
Found this place while driving around Vegas. Wanted something quick and not casino food. It's in a large office building. It is really cute inside (I didn't get pictures). We got there at about 9:30 on a Tuesday and we're the only ones until we were done ordering. We ordered 3 avocado toasts and 1 Avada Ricotta toast, a matcha latte, tater tots and a hot coffee. The girls that work there were really kind and helped us with figure out what kind of coffee we wanted based on our tastes. There were only two employees working at the time so when more customers came our food and drinks took longer. I do understand, this little place probably doesn't get orders that are as large as at one time. The avocado toast came with a slice of lime and it really added flavor to the meal. We asked for the eggs to be cooked over medium but my son's came out over easy. They fixed this right away and gave him a new one. The avada ricotta toast we so tasty with the cilantro sauce, ( tasted like a chimichuri sauce. The bread was fluffy and really added a nice texture. My husband's coffee took the longest to come out. The employee apologized as one of them was also new. The service was great, a little slow but nice. The avada ricotta toast would have me coming back over and over again.
google avatar

Carlos B.

Yelp
Stopped in from the Golden Nugget because I was solo for breaky. I loved the barista behind the counter cordial yet professional. The sando was delish. And my coffee was top notch. You should by for early morning breaky love
google avatar

Trish C.

Yelp
I like Bad Owl and I have been happy with the yummy avocado toast and coffee in the past, hence the 2 stars. However, I just went in and ordered a cup of coffee (pour over, nothing fancy) and after waiting 35 minutes finally had to ask for a refund because I still didn't have my coffee! At least there is a Starbucks fairly close by so I can now get a quick cup of coffee.
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
Coffee was tasty and pastries were good. We liked the atmosphere. I always find it odd to go to a coffee shop in an office building, but it was fine.
google avatar

Jared S.

Yelp
Hidden gem in the middle of Las Vegas. Great coffee drinks. Great iced teas. Pastries are perfect. Quiet. Cozy.
google avatar

Darya D.

Yelp
if you are a whore for lavender oat milk lattes, look no further. and do not doubt yourself, it IS better than the fun fancy signature drinks, which will call to you with their cute clip art and flavor descriptions like sirens in the night. the banana cold brew coffee and the almond were solid but paled in comparison. i must note that the l'orange cappuccino delighted my cousin tara. if you are a whore for matcha, know that they use the culinary powder kind (rather than ceremonial grade). my young cousin, being a knowledgeable matcha fanatic and chef, was "disturbed." cute interior that puts you at ease, prob why we remained planted there for some time leisurely munching our toasts.
google avatar

Veronica V.

Yelp
Love their coffee and breakfast items. Great place for Harry Potter lovers. Service was great!
google avatar

Kalpesh K.

Yelp
You'll have to pay for parking when you come to this place. 15min = 75c. Cosy little coffe shop. The coffee is good.
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
The downtown location of Bad Owl is a smaller version and a little bit quainter than the other locations in town, but it serves the same good food and coffee as the bigger brothers. I visited early on a Friday morning, needing my daily dose of caffeine. When I walked in, there was one person in line ahead of me and she was placing her order with the girl behind the counter. I noticed that she was the only one working. Okay, it's a smaller shop, so I think little of it. When it's my turn to order a cappuccino and the Classic Avocado Toast (pictured), I pay and sit at the community breakfast table. The girl goes to work from the register to the barista area, gets both my drink and the previous customer's drinks ready and served. Then she starts on my breakfast order. Here is where I thought things were going to go off the rails. In comes three more patrons, all of who waited patiently in line, as the girl behind the counter is taking care of our orders. I have to hand it to her, for being the only one working, she had an amazing demeanor, talked vibrantly with all the guests, and was skillful in producing quality drinks and food. As you can in the picture, my breakfast was lovely. I need to implore the owners to get at least one more employee and not leave it to just one. I would hope there is enough traffic in the area to allow this to happen. I would hate for the establishment to miss out on patrons who are in a hurry.
