Yelp
The food was great, service was great. However, I think there are important aspects to our dining experience that should be brought forward before seating. The biggest complaint I have is that we had someone with celiac with us, so we ALWAYS ensure there is gluten free option. They advertise gluten free options so we ordered our drinks for 6 of us and then began to order our food. As she ordered they informed her they can't guarantee there won't be cross contamination. Otherwise, it seemed like they nickled and dimed you. (I don't mind paying when I go out, I generally tip 25%, I'm not someone who goes out and complains about paying so that isn't it) but at the bottom of the menu it says there is a 4% charge on card payments, they use cans of pop and bottles of water without refills and still use plastic cups with ice so a lot of waste, you can't upcharge your sides so you have to pay a la cart if you want anything but chips or fries.
It was okay, the atmosphere is good, I wouldn't discourage anyone from going but maybe wouldn't strongly recommend it either.
I think it would have been a better experience had I known some of the little oddities.
Disgusting response from the presumed owner who didn't even address the false advertisement (which is why they received 3 stars on my behalf in the first place) of being gluten free.
Please note I was not asking for discounted sides but an upcharge for a side I preferred. Edited my review to one star after this poor excuse of a response.
Hi Myranda
I appreciate your feedback but let make educate you on the rapidly increasingly price food, labor, water, utilities in today's world! First of all let's address the sides not being discounted for chips. The price of chips are very expensive and we almost give them away with each order. A basic price of tortilla chips cost per plate about .35 cents but the cost of a side is 5-10 times that amount. If we discount a side we will be losing money.
Now for the cost of soda. Do you have any idea how much you actually lose if fountain sodas or free refill that don't get drank or loss from the spoilage and spills, even the cost of CO2. This does not happen with canned products and the product is always tasting good and carbonated correctly. We serve the best quality we can possibly serve and we also in business to make money and not go out of business like 50% of the restaurants around us.
We located in very expensive piece of property inside a four star resort. Do you expect us to learn the quality of our products or do you think the guests that stay at a 4 star report expect only the best not necessarily what is the least expensive. I don't understand why you expect a beach front property to offer inferior product so you can get a free refill or reduced price on a side. I suggest you qualify the restaurant first to see if it caters to your budget before coming in and expecting a bar or a fast food experience. Yelp reviews are the worst and you think your negative input has value but people like you do nothing but damage and wonder why restaurants and business are claiming down through the United States. Didn't your parents teaching you nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all! Geez...yelpers are the worst!
PS I did read the entire response he does respond to this AFTER I responded to his initial response. It's incorrect and ignorant but as he says ignorance is apparently a virtue (especially insulting the entire demographic of this platform)
