The Best Korean Restaurants In The San Gabriel Valley

"OK, so you’ll drop some cash at Kanghodong Baekjeong, but if you’ve never dined at this world-renowned Korean barbecue spot, now is the time to do it outdoors at one of its two less-crowded locations (there’s a second in Rowland Heights). The quality of meat at Baekjeong, which means butcher, is impressive, but don’t stop at the micro-brisket and the seasoned short rib. Here, you want to try it all - especially the ultra-fatty pork jowl, the fiery red spicy intestine combo, and the yangdaechang, which has both tripe and large intestine. You’ll need kimchi jiigae and gyeran jjim (steamed egg) while you’re at it, of course, even though the banchan are plentiful here. Or if you’re just in for lunch to go, order up the lunchbox, which has steamed white rice with a fried egg and your choice of meat." - dakota kim

Kang Ho Dong Baek Jeong Review - Koreatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong is one of Koreatown’s most popular BBQ restaurants. While the meat and banchan are both very good, a meal here is a true test of patience as wait times fall in the two-hour range almost every day of the week. If you’re looking for a quintessential, rowdy BBQ atmosphere, Baekjeong's college student-filled space can’t be beat, but if you’re simply looking for great BBQ, there are other options in the area with half the wait." - Brant Cox

Google
I left this restaurant with mixed feelings. Before the pandemic, this place was always busy with huge crowds and long waits, but now there were only about 3-4 occupied tables during lunch. It was definitely more relaxing to eat with fewer people, and the food tasted fine. However, I didn't find the staff to be very friendly or attentive. I just wish the experience had been better.

Google
Excellent place for Korean BBQ. If you're celebrating a special occasion and don't want to be turning short ribs, this place does all the heavy lifting for you. They do absolutely everything for you except eat. They bring water, and have all the salad and banchan there at the table before you sit down. The server came to introduce himself and lighted the grill. He started cooking our brisket and came back in a minute to turn it over. He took it off the hot plate when it was done, but we could eat it when it was still on the plate. I asked him when it was ready to eat. Next, he brought the New York steak or rib eye. He cooked it perfectly, asking how I wanted it cooked. Third, he cooked the marinated boneless short ribs. We asked for more salad, rice wrappers, and spicy tofu. All sides are all you can eat. I gave it 4 stars because it was pretty pricey and the 2 of us had enough food, but in regards to the beef, we could have eaten more. I was glad for the experience. But I can only do this on special occasions if you know what I mean.

Google
I love this place, very good quality of beef and pork. We got boneless short rib and beef bally. Our server, Eugene, he is really friendly, he remembered us from second time we visited, and he cooked really well on the beef. He cooked the perfect beef! Best K BBQ in town.

Google
We had such a great experience thanks to Tommy! He was friendly, attentive, and made sure our table had everything we needed without us ever having to ask twice. He explained the menu, gave great recommendations, and checked in just the right amount. The food was amazing, but Tommy’s service really made the night even better. Definitely coming back—and hoping he’s our waiter again!

Google
The quality of meat and side dishes are great, if not excellent; however, our waiter Justin was terrible. He doesn't talk unless we asked.. When we asked him to refill sidedishes, he took the plates and never remembered what to refill. He managed to use the least effort in cooking for each table and burnt some of our meat. When he done cooking, he just ran to other table without telling us if the meat is ready to eat... The dinner costed hundred fifty something, and we feel the experience doesn't worth it.

Google
Baekjeong Kbbq is an a-la-carte place. We got the beef combo. The small size was perfect for two of us. We also ordered the beef fried rice, which ended up being too much for two of us after the combo. We liked the lunch box as well. They prepared the beef and fried rice for us. There was a time when the worker was slow and didn't come to us for a while, but I understand that they needed to prepare meat for other tables as well.

Google
I used to like Baekjeong a lot, it was one of my go-to when I was craving kbbq in the area. However unfortunately, the recent visit was a huge letdown. It was pretty empty around 4:30 pm on a Saturday. I was happy that we did not need to wait long, but now I kinda know why we did not have to wait long. Ok. Long story short, we had the Hodong’s favorite combo, and obviously it was not our favorite. The portions were way smaller than before, and I don’t know if it was the meat quality issue or the services. Most of our meat was overly cooked, even though we told our server that we would prefer our meat to be medium rare, and it was like medium well to well done. Not to mention, we felt extremely rushed to finish the entire meal (even we told them to slow down the cooking) I could not help but wondering if it was the same owner as before, the decor changed a bit, and everything was not as great as we remember. Aw well, there are definitely better options in the area, I could easily name a few. Overall, not a great experience. Would not recommend and return!

Google
Very disappointing experience due to poor service and unprofessional attitude from our server. In the middle of our meal, the server walked away and left our food unattended on the grill. We had to step in and cook it ourselves to prevent it from burning. When the server returned, they told us that if the food had burned, it wouldn’t have been their responsibility. At no point were we informed whether the food would be cooked for us or if we were expected to do it ourselves. We also asked for a refill of the banchan during the meal, but it was never brought out. The lack of communication and inattentive service made the entire dining experience frustrating and disappointing.

Yelp
Great food and amazing service by our server Sean. He made sure to accommodate to our needs with allergies, and the food was cooked perfectly. The place has a cozy and inviting ambiance as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone craving a high-quality kbbq restaurant :)

Yelp
Yum!! Baekjeong is certainly pricey but it's so yummy! I came with a friend and we ordered a small beef combo and it was so good! It came with a soybean stew, we chose ribeye, and there was lots of banchan, not to mention corn cheese and steamed egg! I wish rice was included but they're really generous with refilling your kimchis if you ask nicely. Large parking lot, service is great - they cook everything for you, and the ambiance is much more upscale than most other kbbq places. There isn't smoke everywhere and you won't go home smelling like meat!

Yelp
I had such a wonderful experience at Baek Jong on Las Tunas! I was helped by Josue, and he was absolutely fantastic. Not only was he extremely pleasant and welcoming, but he also did a great job as our chef. His friendly personality made the whole meal even more enjoyable, and you can really tell he takes pride in what he does. The food came out perfectly, and his energy added such a great vibe to the table. If you come here, I highly recommend asking for Josue--he'll make your dining experience top notch. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
It's been a while since I last dined here so I was really looking forward to coming back. We arrived around 5 PM and there was no wait at all. Chloe was our server and she was so friendly! We ordered a small Hodong's favorite combo and an order of the beef tongue. The portion was perfect for our family and the meat was also pretty fresh. I had to knock off a star though because service was so so. I think Chloe is new so she was pretty stressed out working 4 tables. Some of our meat was burnt because she was too busy. I felt really bad so I tried not to ask for too many things but I feel like asking for corn cheese, egg, and refills on the banchan is pretty normal. We had to ask multiple times for refills though because either we were forgotten or they were too busy. We also asked for raw garlic and jalapenos but they said they ran out and had to chop them and will bring it to us when they finish chopping. We finished dining and our garlic and jalapeno never arrived. I left feeling full and content, but a bit disappointed in our service. I was also pretty disappointed in the guy that was training Chloe because I felt he was pretty mean how he was treating her.

Yelp
One of the best Korean BBQ spot in the area! Love the meat combo selections with reasonable prices. Staff are always attentive & their alcohol selection is awesome! Finding a parking may be a bit tough but thankfully their meat is not. There's usually a wait but it's worth it since you'll leave happy after having a delicious meal. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We went to Baekjeong for lunch and it was hands down the best Korean BBQ experience I've had. Not only was the food amazing, but the whole experience stood out. From the moment we sat down, we were constantly taken care of--especially by David, who really made an impression. Our server was attentive as well, but David went above and beyond. The entire team worked together like a well-oiled machine, and it showed. Even though there was plenty of seating, I imagine the wait would never feel long with how efficiently they move. Our table was filled with banchan almost immediately, and within a minute of sitting down, food was already on the table. We ordered one of their combos for two, and it was more than enough with all the sides, rice, soup, and high-quality meats. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Baekjeong turned me into a fan--I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I used to think this was a super cool Korean barbecue place.... But our recent experiences at this location weren't so great in comparison. The quality of the meat has suffered and the staff isn't as well trained or well mannered as their other locations (I think it's either in Hacienda Heights or Rowland Heights). It's still "okay" but if you don't mind the drive, definitely try their other locations instead.

Yelp
ALL our Korean friends said to go here. So on our latest trip to SoCal we did. There are many locations in the LA area and they all had stellar ratings so you know this chain has gotten something right. Family of 5 we ordered the large beef combo plus a small side order of pork belly, plus some ramen noodles and seaweed. We were stuffed. The meat was awesome. Very well marbled and juicy (so nice that the waitress expertly cooked everything for us). We started with the brisket, then the short rib, then the marinated short rib, followed by the pork belly. Brisket was very good but nothing special compared to other KBBQ places. Short rib. Wow this is why you come here. Marinated short rib. So juicy and flavorful. Pork belly. Thick cut and perfectly cooked. Best pork belly we've ever had. Their sides were also solid. It's a can't miss KBBQ experience. Also, there is a milk tea place right next door. Perfect place to hang out and wait for your table (and they use text message to let you knw

Yelp
My friend and I came here after a two hour long workout. After being extremely tired and hungry from exercise, we were craving Korean barbecue so we decided to come here. We came on a Tuesday afternoon around three and there was no wait - we were seated within five minutes of our arrival. We came on a day where it was over 90°. I very much appreciated that this restaurant had their AC on blast!! As soon as we sat down, everything was already set up for us - banchan, water, and sauces! Our waiter, Tim even brought out barley tea for us (from my own request). We decided to go for the small beef combo - all three cuts of meat were extremely fresh and tasty. Tim was so kind and attentive - he cooked all of our beef to perfection & was always checking in on us to make sure we were taken care of, and that we were fully stocked with the sides! The small beef combo does come with a lot of food -between my girlfriend and I, there were plenty of leftovers and enough to take home for a second meal! This is probably one of my favorite non-all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue options in the 626! Will definitely come again.

Yelp
Went here for my mom's birthday dinner today & the food was delicious as always. What really stood out was Peter, our server!! We definitely appreciated his cheerfulness and quick timing all throughout dinner. Thank you! I also tried the new banana milk mocktail, and it's very good. I love how it's real banana and tastes fresh.

Yelp
Shout out to Joey for great service! Love coming to Baekjeong for the quality of meat and the service (they cook for you!) Our server Joey was friendly, very attentive, and had perfect timing with cooking our courses. Would recommend the beef combo with the kimchi stew! The boneless short rib is my favorite-- so tender and flavorful. Come during off hours for no wait!
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of meat, and very luxurious, especially since the servers there cook and place the meat on the grill for you. I was asking them questions and they answered them and were very friendly! There was so much meat, and the sides were really delicious! Would not recommend bringing vegetarians or vegans as they will be coveted in a heavy smell of smoking meat. I'd say it's quite expensive for dinner, but if you enjoy meat and great service with delicious sides I feel it's very worth it! But maybe for a special occasion! Overall a great meat-centric BBQ local to me with great service, food, and atmosphere. There is a parking lot on site with ample parking above and below ground.

Yelp
Came here with a party of 15 to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday evening. Note: If you want to bring a cake in, I'd recommend dropping it off a maximum of a couple of hours before your meal. I dropped a cake off around 12 PM, and the staff agreed to store it until the evening, but typically, they can only hold it for a couple of hours due to fridge space. Also, as far as parking, the lot can get a bit busy, as its shared with a variety of other eateries and businesses. They don't accept reservations; however, we showed up around 5pm and thankfully were able to get a long table near the restaurant entrance. Huge shoutout to our server Jeff who was very attentive and helpful amidst all the tables he was covering. We ordered a couple of the combos and all the meat was delicious! The servers cook the meat for you, and Jeff did a great job of ensuring the meat was consistently replenished. We enjoyed the soup and all of the banchan dishes as well. I'm growing to love a la carte kbbq places as it allows you to eat quality meat without leaving overly full. If you're craving yummy kbbq, I'd highly recommend paying a visit to Baekjong!

Yelp
Tommy!! Thank you for the great service and dealing with my pregnant wife!! Meat was cooked Great! Glasses were always full! We appreciate you checking in on us! Again, thank you for taking care of us!!
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped by for dinner tonight and just wanted to thank Tommy for providing an exceptional service for the table. He's attentive and friendly and made this experience enjoyable. Food quality is consistent and this time they offered macaroni salad, one of my favorite side dishes. Beef tartar is cold and refreshing. Always love coming to Baekjeong!

Yelp
Opened before pandemic and still here! This always hits!! Order beef combo add side of pork! Always good service and best meats!
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
The location is easy to find, parking is also easy to find once you navigate through the structure. Its right by the teapot fountain. This is $$$ for two people. They personally cook the meat for you so you can enjoy all the other foods at your leisure. They give you plenty of side dishes to eat while you wait. We came late in the afternoon and it was quiet, not too many people. Staff is super friendly and gave us extra water because it was hot and we were thirsty. Their japchae (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was so delicious! And it was great as a leftover meal the next day! We got the marinated short ribs, brisket and non-marinated short ribs platter and a side of pork belly. We will come back, but not as often as we'd like due to the price, but loved our experience!
google avatar

Kawamura K.

Yelp
This lease is a solid 4 1/2. Unfortunately, we put it on the floor just because we can't do half, the staff was friendly enough. The only difficult part was the entryway. It wasn't clearly marked which door was best to enter from. We had an elderly person in our party, so it was difficult for them to navigate. Parking is something this restaurant can deal with, but, it would be nice to have better signage. We ordered a menu and a few extra dishes. A party of six I was able to get everything they wanted. Cold noodle dishes were nice. The spicy soup was great. Our kiddo enjoyed the steam day dish. We would come again, however, difficult part comes when it was time for us to ask for refills of side dishes. They are so popular and busy we do not fault them for that. Will try this place again soon.

Yelp
I've been to this location once before, and I am so glad I came back today! If you have followed my reviews, you would be able to pick up on the fact that I so deeply value customer service. The service here was amazing last time and was even better today! Tim was our server today and definitely made me a lifelong fan! He showed patience, kindness, and engagement as we took a while to figure out what we wanted to order. He answered all of our redundant, and perhaps annoying questions with clarity and a genuine smile. I am telling you, it is these types of employees that keep customers coming back! Yes, the food was exceptional. But, it is truly the experience that resonates with us customers. Tim, I will be back to eat more delicious food, simply on the basis of how welcoming an amazing you are! 5-STAR RATINGS!

Tutu C.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Went in at the perfect time around 2:50 so it's not crowded The waiter at the front is so nice when I ask if it's Ayce and point out to us there is a AYCE down the street BUT I'm so glad that I stayed cuz we have 2 adults and 3 kids so AYCE won't really work We got a combo and we are amazed by how fast the food was brought to us and they even cooked two plates of meat for us ! Super helpful cuz it will be a long wait for us to get though all the meat if we cook them on the grill We were definitely starving lol so that's a plus. To be able to have something to eat right away. 100/10 recommendations! They cook most of the meat in front of you and this is the first time I eat k BBQ without sweating to serve my table ! The beef the pork so tender! It melts in your mouth oh it's sooo gooooodddddd Come at a slow time so you get the best service!
google avatar

Christy C.

Yelp
This is not your typical AYCE KBBQ spot BUT they do serve pretty high quality meat combo sets AND the server does all the grilling! Parking can be difficult especially on the weekends because it's located in a busy plaza but they have an underground parking garage. Service was very nice and attentive. Love that the servers do all the grilling! It can get pretty loud especially when it gets busy so it might be hard to communicate with one another. There are 10+ different combo sets to choose from. Expect to pay $83+ for each set. However, each one contains A LOT of food! Got the Combo S ($82.80) and it consisted of brisket, boneless short ribs, pork belly, and marinated pork steak. All the meats were very good quality and not too fatty. The brisket was my favorite, so flavorful and tender! This was 9/10 The banchans were very good and the corn cheese was the BEST! So cheesy and sweet! Would recommend and return
google avatar

Yelp
Waited an hour at the Temple City outpost of this SoCal KBBQ chain. Had been to the Irvine version before and knew this chain offered good quality meals. The three of us shared the small meat combo consisting of brisket, boneless Kalbi, pork belly, and marinated pork. We also shared their brisket, truffled fried rice.... More than enough for three and suitable for four. Ventilation was good with the powerful suction fan, music was hopping with modern KPOP tunes, service was good as they grill and cut the meat for you, you'll need to ask for sesame salt, more rice wrappers, more Banchan, etc.. parking can be a challenge in the large lot because of so many popular restaurants within this strip mall. Good place to take a family of four.
google avatar

MarVy S.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places for Korean BBQ! The quality of the meat, the flavors, and the overall experience keep me coming back. ::Food:: We always go for the Beef Combo, which comes with thinly sliced brisket, seasoned prime boneless short rib, prime boneless short rib, and prime beef brisket soybean paste stew. Every bite is so good, I could seriously eat it every day. The short ribs are packed with flavor, and I always ask for a mesh grill. I think it makes such a difference, giving the meat that perfect char and enhancing the taste. The soybean paste stew is rich and comforting. ::Customer Service:: Peter is amazing! He's super attentive, friendly, and always making sure we have everything we need. One thing I really appreciate is how he checks in to see how we like our meat. Even when it gets busy, he still takes the time to provide great service. ::M's Notes:: - Indoor seating - Parking lot available, but it fills up fast

Yelp
Baekjong is easily the best KBBQ spot in the 626 area! Good quality meats with wonderful selections of complimentary & unlimited sides (corn cheese, steamed egg, kimchi, fish cakes, salad, cucumbers, rice paper, peppers). I like how the server cooks the meats for us and are very attentive to our requests. I ordered the Premium Seared Pork Belly and the Prime Beef Belly. Both were insanely good; the beef belly melts in your mouth and the pork belly slices were thick! I love how the dipping sauces/garlic salt & pepper pair so well with the meats. I was a little surprised that the beef belly came marinated as it wasn't stated specifically in the menu and I am personally not a fan of marinated meats. However, it still tasted pretty good! It's a pretty big establishment, but there is always a long wait. I came on a Friday night around 6:30PM and had to wait 35 minutes for a table of 2. There is a lot of parking within the plaza as well (free). Dining here is also on the pricier side.

Yelp
We came here as a group of four and ordered Hodong's Favorite Combo, beef tongue, and a beer. The quality of the meat was definitely good, and the overall environment was nice. However, the service today was very disappointing. When we asked for garlic and jalapeño, the server told us they were still being cut in the back and would be brought out later. But after sitting and eating for over an hour, they still never arrived. I really don't understand how cutting garlic and jalapeño can take that long. We also asked several times for eggs to be added, but they never came at all. Not sure if eggs are so expensive that they can't be served, but it left a very bad impression. On top of that, the girl serving us seemed to be new. She was slow and uncoordinated, and unfortunately, some of our meat ended up overcooked or even burnt. For such a big and popular restaurant, the service level should be much better. Overall, the food was tasty, but the service quality really needs serious improvement. With the bill coming out to $147 before tax and tip, we expected a much smoother and more attentive experience.

Yelp
We got the their small beef combo meal which feeds two - three people and we could not finish it with two people. Food: 4/5 The food was decent, but nothing too special. My favorite was their short rib and I really liked their banchan options, especially their kimchi and fish cakes. Their kimchi stew was pretty basic, good flavor but nothing outstanding. Price: 4/5 This place came out to around $30 per person between two people. Their meat is definitely a little higher quality than your average AYCE kbbq. But I would much rather get more variety at all you can eat. Service: 4/5 Our servers were wonderful and they were great to monitor our meats and help us cool. However, the wait for this place took too long. It was also a little disorganized, people who walked in after us got served before we did because there was no line or hostess. Ambiance: 5/5 This place is a really cool hangout spot that is pretty popping. It is lively inside and despite the delicious smelling Kbbq aroma, there is little smoke inside. One last note is to park in the parking lot underground. Parking in this plaza sucks.

Yelp
Pretty good KBBQ spot! We ordered the marinated beef combo, and it was just the right amount of food for two people. All the meats were great, except for the pork--it turned out a bit dry if overcooked. That might've been on us, since we couldn't eat it fast enough before it dried out. One of my favorite parts is that every table gets steamed eggs and cheesy corn. Both pair so well with the meat. The side dishes were solid too--I especially loved the onions mixed with red sauce, which complemented the meat perfectly. The dipping sauces here are simple: just salt and a house-made Korean soy sauce that's tangy and slightly sweet. It went really well with the brisket. We also tried the soybean soup, but in hindsight, we probably should've gone with the kimchi one. My boyfriend wasn't a fan of the soybean, so maybe the kimchi would've been better. It's a bit on the pricey side, but I think it's worth it since the servers cook the food for you. Overall, I'd definitely come back! :)

Yelp
The meat quality is so good here. We ordered a large Hodong's favorite combo and everything was excellent. I liked the fish cake banchan and Kim chi soup too. I also enjoyed the egg and corn cheese which were cooking immediately after we sat down. While we waited for the meat to come by we had some tasty sides to eat. Servers really did a great job at cooking the meat for us.

Marc B.

Yelp
3 1/2 Stars - Use to eat here before, but was too busy so went to reservation places for BBQ or waiting list restaurants. Since I noticed the restaurant business is slow, we tried it Saturday night. In the past, a Saturday night at 8:15 was easily an 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour wait. Saturday night..20 min wait and lots of empty tables. We had the combo beef and it was good. Not spectacular or way way way better than the "all you can eat BBQ" but it was tasty. The server was nice, but he tried to cook the food so fast that I had to tell him to slow down. Did not like that. He wanted us out of there in 10 mins it appeared. In the big picture today, I will not be rushing back. Lots of competition today and I think.."all you can eat" offers more variety and the taste is ok vs this place.

Yelp
Wow. Just... wow where do I even start. Let's begin with the first protein of our Large beef set. SDIYBT (Start diggin in yo brisket, twin!) Tender, meaty, and a great balance between fat and muscle. Then came the short ribs (2 different types in a row, I don't even know the difference, to be honest). Very tender and well-marbled. But of course they saved the BEST for last. Marinated short rib fingers - smoky, sweet, savory, and cooked to perfection by our server. Perfectly medium, as requested, and with a satisfying char. Absolutely delicious. Unlimited refills on banchan and sides (steamed egg and corn cheese). Also, it was my birthday so our dinner came with a generous portion of hot gooey chocolate cake topped with whipped cream.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. Pricey but worth every penny. Can't put a price on quality and great service. The small beef combo packs a punch is you are 2 or 3 guest. 3 main beef dishes but remember you also get unlimited sides. Chow down on the free salads and the kimchi soup which by the way is delicious. The meat will be cooked by a server, so that's gives you time to focus on your dinner party. Sit back and enjoy experience.

Yelp
Baekjeong has become a golden staple in the 626 for Korean BBQ. Located in the Camellia Square plaza, parking is ample in the lot and underground. I came during lunch time on a Friday with a friend right when they opened so there wasn't much of a line (although there usually is!) The restaurant at night does get very busy and noisy though so just prepare for that if you come for dinner! Going at lunch time was really fun, the restaurant wasn't as busy so the servers were able to serve and cook for us which we always enjoy. My friend and I got the Beef Combo (S) and shared it. The beef combo was a great amount for the two of us even though we were hungry. It came with all of the banchan and cheese corn as well! The meat was so tender and good as always and we had some Cass beer as well. The server was very attentive and continued to assist us in cooking and making sure we had enough banchan. He ever offered us another bottle of Cass on the house which we respectfully declined! Overall, it's always a good time at Baekjeong and would recommend it to anyone passing by or craving some KBBQ!

Yelp
Good food, good service, good experience. I usually go to the one at the Chapman Plaza in Ktown but since my friend and I were close by, we decided to give it a try. , It's not AYCE, they do offer combos or a la carte. The price is about $40+ per person (if splitting) if you want to eat really well. I came here on a Monday night around 6 pm with my friend, and there were plenty of seats. However, by about 7, the place started to fill up! The staff is nice, they don't do unnecessary conversations and just do their work. Some people might find that unfriendly, since some Korean BBQ staff are friendly and talkative in a good way (which I have experienced as well). quantity We got the small beef combo, and it was actually a good qty for 2 people, and that was about $85-$90. You can do your own add-ons, like truffle rice, etc. I think this is a great way to try this place out if this is your first time. It's a good place for group dinners, dates or family gatherings! Calling ahead or creating a reservation (if applicable) is recommended.

Yelp
Really great food, but it felt rushed. This place is great. Staff are friendly and helpful, and they want you to enjoy your food. We ordered a combo set that came with 3 different types of meat. Our server helped place the meats on the grill and everything was grilled in front of us. I'm guessing that most patrons don't know how to grill correctly, so the servers would jump in and start to help (which felt like our experience in Seoul, Korea :D ). With their help, we felt compelled to eat the quickly cooking meat. As soon as one was done, the next meat was placed on the grill. While we liked the quality of the meat, the feeling of being rushed was not as great. Besides that, ambiance feels like you're in Korea at a BBQ joint which was fun!

Yelp
We came on a weekday lunch so there was no wait. Our party of 2 ordered the small Hodong's Favorite Combo as we wanted both beef and pork. It came with beef brisket, boneless short rib, pork belly, and marinated pork steak for $74. The meat was good quality and the portion was the perfect amount for 2 people. There were a good variety of banchan such as fish cake, 2 different salads, 2 different types of kimchi, and more. The combo came with a choice of soybean or kimchi stew. We opted for the soybean and loved that it came with tofu, clams, and meat in it. The corn cheese and steamed egg on the side of the grill are always delicious, but make sure to eat them quickly or they start to burn halfway through the meal. Service was great as it was easy to flag a server down for everything we needed, and they cook all your meats for you. The restaurant is spacious and clean as well.

Yelp
Thanks to our attentive server Martin for having to grill all of our meats to perfection! It was a great experience to have good foods and desserts to end the meal.

Yelp
Very disappointing experience due to poor service and unprofessional attitude from our server. In the middle of our meal, the server walked away and left our food unattended on the grill. We had to step in and cook it ourselves to prevent it from burning. When the server returned, they told us that if the food had burned, it wouldn't have been their responsibility. At no point were we informed whether the food would be cooked for us or if we were expected to do it ourselves. We also asked for a refill of the banchan during the meal, but it was never brought out. The lack of communication and inattentive service made the entire dining experience frustrating and disappointing.

Yelp
I came to Baekjeong with friends to celebrate a birthday, and this visit stood out compared to other locations I have been to. David, the manager on duty, and our server, Eugene, went above and beyond to take care of us. We ordered several rounds of banchan (Korean side dishes), and the staff was very accommodating and generous in providing them. The food quality was, as always, superb, but what really made this experience different was the outstanding service. At other locations, I have noticed the service can sometimes be inconsistent, but at this Baekjeong, David, Eugene, and the entire team made sure we felt welcomed and well taken care of. Thank you for making our celebration such a great experience!

Yelp
Meat quality and portion sizes here are 10/10. All meat is cooked for you - great service. Pretty big inside with lots of parking underground. I really like their brisket and marinated meats.

Yelp
High quality food, high quality service. Baekjeong makes my heart and stomach happy every single time. Whenever I crave KBBQ, Baekjeong is where I go. The meats are always fresh and delicious, the side dishes are delightful, and the same applies to just about everything else on Baekjeong's menu. I love how lively it is in the evening, and how chill and cozy it is during the day. It's a great spot to enjoy good food with friends and family. I also appreciate that it's open late for long nights out. There's another Baekjeong in K-Town that's also good, but the Temple City location has free parking that's way easier to find, and the wait times are usually pretty reasonable. The plaza does get busy though, so on busy days you might have to park in the underground structure.

Yelp
Came in on a Thursday at 4pm, in time for their happy hour. Given the time of day and the smoky skies due to the wildfires during the time I went, there was no wait at all, but I believe typically there would be a long wait for a table. For 3 people, we ordered Hodong's Favorite Combo (Small), which came with brisket, boneless short rib, marinated pork steak, and pork belly. We ordered soybean stew with our combo. Since it was happy hour, we also ordered japchae and seafood pancake appetizers for 50% off. This was more than enough food for us to all be stuffed by the end of the meal. Meats were delicious and tender, and the dipping sauce paired so well with the meat and side dishes. The appetizers were also giant portions and tasty. The egg and corn cheese on the side of the grill cook pretty quickly, so would recommend nibbling on those earlier rather than later. This is a nicer KBBQ spot where the servers will cook the meats for you, so it was nice not having to worry about when things were ready to be eaten. Good spot to go with a group of people, and I'd come again.

Yelp
Food portions are on the smaller side, definitely order more than you think you need. For two people, we got the small beef combo and it was barely enough. Although egg and corn cheese had complimentary refills, it wasn't that delicious. The egg tastes better in a stone pot and it's very difficult for it to cook evenly on the grill. The restaurant is very busy and I don't think it's worth it to wait to eat here.

Yelp
Delicious and authentic Korean Barbecue. My bff from NYC is visiting so I suggested we go here for lunch today after 2 p ( I mentioned in my first review that it was crowded when I went and suggested anyone coming here for lunch go after 2 PM!) Guess what? It was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed their rice bowls ( spicy pork belly and short rib) and a seafood tofu soup. The service was wonderful, the ambience, terrific, and very comfortable and we had a blast! So. I did return ;)

Yelp
I love Baekjeong!!!! They have the best meats, ambience and service. Brisket and beef are my fave. We came in for the seventeen promotion and Aiden was here for us. He kept bringing us all the banchan we wanted. Especially the cucumbers. Parking is easy, don't bother with the surface lot. Go straight down to the bottom lot.

Yelp
Love that the service is super on point. They are quick to help you grill everything, no experience from the patron required. They don't rush you and they cook the meat very well. I would come back here again and not bring the kids so I can fully enjoy myself. We ordered the combos because it was just easier that way. So many sides!

Yelp
It's really unfortunate because I've had good experiences at Baekjeong up until now, but I got food poisoning from my recent visit due to cross-contamination. Our server used the same tongs for raw meat and for handling sides like the corn cheese. As shown in my photos, at one point pork juices even overflowed into the egg side dish. Obviously we didn't eat that, but our food was already contaminated before then. I ordered Hodong's Favorite Combo, which was already on the pricier side, and it just wasn't worth it given the food safety issues. I probably won't be coming back again.

Yelp
I come to Baekjeong & always order the same things but their beef tar tar is ALWAYS a hit Their servers are also on top of their cooking game & make sure to be attentive to their guests
