This food is nasty. It doesn't taste fresh. I spent $85. I am not satisfied. The sauce is horrible no type of salt. The seafood seem like it's old

Nice little place in Berkeley, serving mostly crab and fish n chips, but also chicken wings, which were screaming good! I don’t eat fish, so I had lemon pepper chicken wings - they were great! And really good garlic noodles. The decor was very nicely done; the service was excellent! Kind and gracious staff. Definitely recommend visiting here...

This time the taste was little different then first time and second time

The moment they opened the bag, the smell was unbelievable! Shrimp and crab were so fresh, and eating with hands made it extra fun.

The shrimp and crab were not fresh and were of poor quality. I had diarrhea after eating them. They even offer a cashback for a 5-star review. I think all their good reviews are fake.

We order the C2 combo to go. It includes Alaskan Crab, headless (or not) shrimp, corn, sausage and potatoes all in a big plastic bag soaked in Cajun sauce. Two canned lemonades go well. We drive to the Berkeley Marina, back up to the San Francisco Bay and watch the sun set. This is our loving ritual and we want to share it with you 😘 Ask for extra napkins! They include two sets of plastic gloves but you will need extra napkins. Try asking if they have moist towelettes too… or bring your own wipes. This is a messy food to eat in the kitchen or outdoors for us… but we are sloppy with it 😄 It doesn’t detract from the fun, it IS the fun! The photo is of unappetizing leftovers - don’t worry it looks much better hot!

Pretty good place to pop out and grab a bite of some crustacean sensation. We ordered the C3 King crab legs , jumbo 🍤, sausage, corn & potatoes. Also the C1 1lb Prawns head off. Soo good. Nice and steaming hot. Great shareable size and the price isn’t too bad at all. The ambiance definitely fits the vibe and helps to immerse you into the whole seafood boil vibe.

Please.... PUHLEASE don't judge me! Because this review is STRICTLY based on their lobster roll and that lobster roll ONLY. Because this is the only damn thang that I've had off of their menu.... multiple times... EVERY time. I'm light weight hooked y'all. I know what you're thinking; "A lobster from bag of CRAB?!". But, just hear me out and gimme a chance to explain. I went to Portland, Maine last July and experienced my first ever REAL Maine lobster. It was... life changing. You should do it at least once in your lifetime. But anyways, I've been having these lobster cravings ever since. Specifically lobster rolls. There are much better places than this that get some bomb ass lobster rolls in the Bay Area. But erm... have YOU seen those prices?! And, have you seen how far that some of these places are? In my "old" age... I've become not only cheap, but also lazy. I don't wanna spend $40 for a lobster roll and I damn sure don't want to travel for it. I can do that occasionally, but this is not good for a quick fix. This is where Bag o' Crab kicks in. I kid you not; I have been ordering a lobster roll from this place almost monthly since last July to fulfill this insane lobster roll craving. I've even gotten both of my employees hooked on this place, but they actually order items that are typical of a Cajun crab boil spot. The lobster roll itself isn't the best that I've had, but it's always meaty and the split top bun is alway crisp and lightly buttered on the outside. It could definitely use way more butter (especially on the inside), but for the price and for the convenience, I'm not trippin' too much. The only issue that I have is that sometimes they tend to put too much mayo on it. I wish that they had an option for no mayo at all (mayo shouldn't even be on it honestly), but this is the sacrifice that I make to fulfill my lobster roll craving. Where else are you going to find a meaty lobster roll for UNDER $30 these days? I'm sure for that price the lobster might be questionable, but it tastes delicious and I haven't gotten sick... so I'll take it at this point. Also, their sweet potato fries are pretty exceptional. I just wish that they would throw in some ranch for my to-go order instead of ketchup, but I digress. The Cajun fries are pretty tasty too. I'll be honest; I have yet to actually enter their establishment. I usually order for to go on days when I'm short staffed at work and I can't leave the office. They always package everything so nicely and the food always arrives warm. I so appreciate that. I do need to stop by and dine in at some point, and I also need to try something other than their lobster rolls. This I will most certainly do. But for now, a solid 4 stars will be rewarded for their lobster roll. A huge thanks to them for allowing me to satisfy my crazy lobster cravings.

So yummy! I really like the range of flavors on the menu. My friend and I each got a bag and also the garlic noodles. My only complaint is that my bag was extremely salty so it was hard to enjoy. I got the atomic and asked for a more intense flavor. I am planning to go back and get a different flavor in hope that its not as salty. I also didnt like how thick the garlic noodles were, they were delicious but I dont think I will get them again.

The crab, corn and sweet potato fries we ordered were quite tasty. I wish they'd provided a crab cracker (similar to a nutcracker) and a pick (tiny fork) for extracting the meat as I've used every other time I've had crab at a restaurant. I found it too difficult to use the scissors they provided. I got frustrated and without a pick, was unable to remove all the meat. IF I return, I'll have to bring my own tools, which frankly, considering a crab dinner is not inexpensive, sucks.

I ordered the combo 2 atomic sauce plus lemon pepper wings ... I would say it was very good but the wings were fiya ... they only sale flat which is my favorite piece of the wing it was delicious- let's not talk abot the music was R&B on this Sunday such a vibe !!!! staff was friendly

This was my first time at Bag o' Crab and I was a little hesitant to try because of previous reviews however, the food was great! The flavor was amazing and it had just the right texture and sauce I was looking for. The service can be a little better but, I would definitely go back!

My friend and I are basically regulars at the Berkeley location, mostly because we're constantly craving seafood boil and it's the closest spot near campus. I've also been to the Alameda location once with my parents, and although I don't remember what we got, I do remember agreeing that the seafood boil we get back home in Dallas was better. My friend and I always split the C1 Combo with ¾ lb head-off shrimp and 1 lb clams, and while we've tried different seasonings, we always come back to a mix of Original Cajun (medium spice) and Garlic Butter. It's usually a bit salty, but the Steamed Rice helps. My friend's also a big fan of their wings. The Berkeley location is clean, service is fast and friendly, and it's rarely too crowded!

Food is good, the lady who serves us is always nice and accommodating. The food comes out quick and is always what we ordered. Sometimes the next day you feel kind of gross but if you think you have a somewhat strong stomach, you got this.

Good place to go. Food was ok. Service was Also ok and can be better. Flavor needs a lil bit more taste. Overall not too bad for a seafood boil spot. Everyone seems happy. Nothing truly bad maybe some better chairs.

I'm not kidding I've been here like 4+ times already. Louisiana sauce is sooo good because the garlic did its thing ;). Garlic noodles were yum too. Main difference with the atomic sauce is that it does not have garlic and I think with this sauce you mostly taste the spice depending on what level you choose.

All the better restaurants on Center Street having been closed in some redevelopment project, I wound up here. I am not a fan of messy shellfish in a bag, so I hoped they had something else. They did. I ordered grilled Cajun fish. It came with salad and rice. The salad was mixed lettuce with fried onions on top and the rice was a lump of standard Chinese-style sticky rice, both pretty good. So was the seasoning on the fish. The fish itself, however, though of a good quantity, was rather rubbery and not particularly appetizing.

I say this place is more of a Cajun-inspired Chinese place. The shrimp and clams are okay, with decent garlic, butter, paprika, and chilies. But the mussels with Chinese Sichuan peppers is excellent, with zucchini and bell peppers! The servers were quiet spoken but friendly and attentive. I recommend it!

I normally rock it out with Rockin Crawfish but bag o crab has turned out to be a hit as well. I love how they put your to go order in this pretty light blue bag. The sauce is also really good. I'll be back for sure !

I always order the snow crab legs. So yummy. The food is always prepared on time and my order is never wrong. It's fun to dine in or take food to go. Friendly service. Yum!

The food was sooo good. We got the combo 1 in the Louisiana flavor and it was just so mouthwatering good. 9/10 definitely my new favorite place in Berkeley. We also got the Cajun fries as appetizers, a little bit salty but it was flavorful aswell. 7.6/10 The service was good, and very friendly. They were always in a happy mood. The interior is well decorated and they give you gloves and a bib! Was wearing a white shirt but luckily nothing spilled on me.

They now serve cajun noodle soup which is a seafood ramen that is so tasty! Still have yet to find another seafood boil restaurant in the bay that's better than Bag o Crab. Flavor, freshness, and variety here is amazing. Staff are amazing as well, especially Jenny the manager. 100% recommend coming here

The seasonings were usually what I expected. It still felt salty and bland. There was barely any snow crab. I've had better. The place gets packed since it's right by the college, just not the best.

Crab was old and reheated. It was a waste of money. The one in Vallejo is much better. The seasoning here was lack luster as well.

Bag O' Crab was delicious. Today was the first time I had it in person where I saw at the restaurant. Sitting at the restaurant made it better than the times where my wife would bring Bag O' Crab home. I got the C1 - Combo with the crawfish and shrimps with their heads on with the Louisiana seating and medium spicy. I think what could have made it easier for me was having some directions on how to eat crawfish as it was my first time having it. The restaurant had a sea type of vibe on the inside with its decorations.

The food was excellent. I would love to return abs try the poor boy. Called and ready in. 20 mins fast service. It was a little quiet right before the dinner hour. The one thing I didn't care for was the lady waiter was ignoring that I was standing there waiting while younger male waiter was more attentive and noticed I was waiting. Other than the woman worker everyone else was very nice and on top of their game!

Shit was absolutely bussin' I kid you not, my friends and I demolished this bag of seafood in a blink of an eye. My friends are a little more covid conscious so we took this to-go but indoor seating was available and there was a decent ambiance. The food itself was delicious! Obviously the seafood is not five start quality... i mean it literally comes in a bag. But it was really enjoyable and such a fun experience to have with my friends. Reasonable price point when you split between multiple people. Definitely give this a try :) Enjoy!

Honestly, I really love a good seafood boil and I don't know where in SF to find a good one, so I commute all the way to Berkeley to eat here. It's a bit messy so just beware before going. They give you bibs and gloves and then put paper on the table where the boil can be poured onto after they bring it out. They come out pretty hot in a plastic bag, we ordered two Combo 1 to share between three people, and they let you choose two out of four seafoods which is nice, but it is on the pricier side (but this is kind of expected for seafood). We got the lemon pepper (3/5 because not a huge ton of flavor and the garlic butter was just much butter) and garlic butter (4/5 because way more flavorful) for our two bags. We also decided on mild which didn't even taste spicy at all. Extremely messy and the sauce is all over the table and surprisingly didn't get it on my pants. They do come by and drop off some lemons on the table for you to eat as well. It can make you feel pretty full, but this was a good portion size for three of us. Shrimp (4/5): Pretty big shrimp, no need to peel the head off, but the tail is there. Clams (3.5/5): Pretty standard clams, sometimes the meal falls out so you get a lot of shells which take up the mass of the bag. Potato (3.5/5): Very soft, a good whole potato, but very dense if you are not a huge potato fan like myself. Sausage (3.5/5): Pretty good sausage, very flavorful with the sauce. Crawfish (3/5): Not a ton of meat, you have to break apart the body so it gets very messy and a lot of effort for the smallest bit of body meat. Corn (3/5): Kind of hard to share two corns between three people when they just serve it on the cob.

Absolutely disgusting. The king crab was also not fresh. Garlic butter sauce, more like cooking oil with some raw garlic thrown inside. literally had a fishy taste with straight up cooking oil. Do not order from this place made my husband throw up !!!!

I love seafood boil so I had to try this place out. I thought it was nice that they have combos to choose from. I got their second combo with the atomic sauce (a mix of Cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic butter). The sauce was 95% butter and that really turned me off because it felt super oily. The flavor was alright but not too strong. Really my only complain is that there's way too much butter. The shrimp mostly felt fresh (I had one or two bad ones). Their service was interesting. The give you the check right after your order and before the food arrives. I don't think you have to pay first before getting your food but we did it anyways. I like the decorations on the wall in the restaurant. Its a small restaurant so when there's a lot of people, it might be hard to navigate through.

Got food poisoning because the fried soft shell crab in the po boy was entirely raw past the shell (it was cold, translucent and gray ish, and also tasted disgusting.) Fingers crossed that I don't get a nasty parasite . I was too shocked to take a picture, but I really should have. Sent the food back to the kitchen and didn't eat anything they re-cooked (which I took to go.)

I'm embarrassed to say that I am a regular customer at this establishment. I have recently gained a small obsession with seafood and having the desire to eat it almost every day bag of crab in BERKELEY really really good. Full of garlic, spices go from not spicy to extremely spicy so you can have your preference. I really like that they devein their headless shrimp for you and the staff is extremely accommodating. This will continue to be my spot for seafood boil until or unless my appetite changes. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!

DONT COME HERE.! I got stomach virus from eating here and the manager hangs up in my face and tells me go through his insurance company. Then proceeds to block my number. The three of us spent 200$ all to end up in the ER. Out of work for 5 days. The manager was no help and said all there food is fresh because it's frozen. Please go to another location because they are all privately owned !!!

This is the third location I've been to for this franchise. My favorite one is the San Leandro location. This one is my second choice and the one in Vallejo is my third choice. Something that I like about this location is that it is in downtown Berkeley. We had a fun day at the Berkeley Marina and then came here to eat. The service was fairly on point, except there were times that I was looking for the waiter and could not find them because they didn't let us know that they went on break. The vibe of the place is a crab shack with a lot of decorations to signal the seafood, it's a little dark because there's only one side that faces the window. There may not be parking right in front so you have to look in the other streets surrounding the area which might lead you to walking a little bit further than intended. Just have your wits about you as there are indigent people walking down the street there was a lady yelling profanities at us as a way we're leaving. The portions were good but the Leandro location has more flavor options.

This location is smaller than the San Leandro location and doesn't have a bar like them either. They also don't have the cute lil robot that brings you your food. The young man who took our order was very shy and quite. after I placed our order there was 4 of us in the group before our food even came he handed me the bill. We had not even received our food yet and he gave us the bill . That bothered me. Besides that the food was delicious the garlic noodles were a little greasy but that's just my preference. They also give you gloves in a little thing that looks like a handy wipe.

The cheapest combo option was enough to feed 2 of us. The garlic noodles were very good and the oysters are priced very nicely. I would 100% recommend if you like seafood boils.

Food was hot and came out quickly -- service was good (though we didn't need much help while polishing off our food). Garlic noodles were nice and salty as well! We took home the leftover sauce and were able to make another meal out of it -- great value, filling, and a lovely cozy location.

I love this place. I always get the shrimp head off with rice and corn. I usually get it to go but the service when I go inside is great. I love the place when I eat there. They play great music and the ambiance is chill. It doesn't get too packed which is nice. I love coming here when I'm in the area.

Customer service was great! but the quality of the food was terrible. I ordered hot chicken wings and they were pink and disgustingly sweet. I also got a side of garlic fries which tasted like rotten garlic. For my drink I got a fountain lemonade that tasted like they went the bathroom and scooped toilet water out of the toilet bowl and served it with some lemon.

the food was cold when given to me and my family also our server only checked on us when we first arrived, and when she wanted a tip. Terrible customer service.

Dine in and take out are offered here. The dine in experience was good. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. They offer many options on the menu and items seems fresh and flavorful. We tried the shrimp head off, clams, mussels, king crab and Dungeness crab. All very good and the flavors didn't over power the seafood. The garlic noodles are good, I like that they use a thicker style noodle. And the rice is fresh. We also did takeout and the food was the same quality and quantity of the dine in experience! Try this place. It's good. Parking may be challenging on the weekends but not impossible!

Perfect for garlic lovers lol! I would give it 5/5 because I'm a seafood lover and I was satisfied. But my partner got lemon pepper wings and said they were meh! So if you're going to get something from here, just stick to the seafood! We ordered through Door Dash and got it delivered! I ordered the garlic noodles, shrimp with Atomic Sauce + mild, sides of potatoes and sausage (which they put in the bag of shrimp), and the lemon pepper wings! The way the shrimp is on the menu it's just like 1 order is $17.99, but I believe 1 order = 1 lb. There was no ability to select # of pounds of seafood you wanted, but I'm assuming you can put in 2 orders to make it 2 lbs. I am not sure if you can do 1/2 pounds - I tried making a note for that on my order lol but it was unclear if I got 1 or 1.5 lbs when I got my order. They did not respond to my note. I read on another review that they do not do half pounds. Anyway, my garlic noodles hit the spot and were very garlicky. The shrimp was very flavorful and garlicky, but yeah as some have mentioned, quite oily. You'll have a bunch of oily sauce when you're done with the shrimp! We wanted the sausage as a side actually, but they threw it in the bag. If you want a side "on the side" - I recommend specifying that in the notes in the app! I think they assume all sides go in the bag. Overall, if you want cajun-style bags of seafood delivered - give these guys a try! Lol I was considering a different place but couldn't find it on delivery apps, so that was a deciding factor in me trying these guys. This was for a Christmas Eve dinner so I could not be bothered to leave my couch to pick up food lol. Thanks, Door Dash!

TBH My heart and stomach belongs to crawfish in NOLA. Next in line is Rockin Crawfish. This place has the best customer service. Sauce wise, there wasn't much sauce as I'm use to. The serving size of the potatoes and corn are awesome. Garlic noods were good and perfect texture. They offer gloves, bibs, wax paper.

Really enjoyed eating here; it was my first time trying a crawfish boil type place and I liked it a lot! They provide bibs and gloves for you to eat since it can get quite messy. We ordered the C1 Combo to share with the classic seasoning. The flavor was great, and my favorite were the mussels and corn! The crawfish was good, but I think I would've of liked it if they slit them in half so the flavor could soak in and it would be easier to break apart. There were some more expensive items on the menu such as crab that I was curious to try, but they only sell them by the pound. I wish they would sell smaller portions, but I guess I'll just have to order those items when I'm with a larger group.

Everything was great! The food was great, the service was great. I'm so happy this is in my neck of the woods. The flavor of the food was great the fried chicken was light and Krispy with a great taste. The fried Fish and French fries were delish a well. ×

I normally go to the one in San Leandro but this spot is cute and quaint. Same great taste. I love seafood as a creole man. This is one of the closest things to a flavorful crab boil from the south! The spice level here is no joke! If you don't like spice be humble when you order. The mild and up is a sweat while eating guarantee lol
