Streataly On The Hudson - Review - Hoboken - The Infatuation

"On the water near Pier A Park, this outdoor only Italian spot is open every day from 12-8pm. Share a grandma pie and some gelato with a friend on the patio, or stop by for a solo lunch, and bring a personal pizza or sausage and pepper sub to a bench on the water. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Google
This has got to be the worst food establishment in the state of New Jersey. I have reviewed only 2 places in 10 years both to say something good but was so compelled to say something about this place that I had to review it. Bacon was not cooked. The woman working there was so rude you would think I had a personal problem with her. The worst bagel a cream cheese I had in my entire life. I been to the south and they wouldn’t even eat this bagel and cream cheese. Wawa is gourmet compared to these bagels. To top things off I got a Taylor ham and egg cheese that was not even edible and had one slice!!! Yes one slice of Taylor ham and I’ll post a picture as evidence because I know putting one single slice of Taylor ham is not believable. Don’t bother coming here and prices are ridiculous for what has got to be the worst food imaginable.

Bagels on the Hudson is THE WORST BAGEL SHOP you CAN ORDER DELIVERY FROM. They contract with Grubhub (THE WORST APP OF ALL) that charge abhorrent fees and hire anyone. If BAGELS ON THE HUDSON cares about customers, they’d just hire a good vetted employee. Not worth the exorbitant price nor the hassle of having to wait 1+ hours. You will reorder and fight with Grubhub to get your money back. The bagels are average at best, there are 5 bagel shops nearby that take pride in their craft and care more about quality. This is my 3rd consecutive time where my order had issues (either extremely long time or stolen). The instructions were to come inside and to our unit. The second I saw the receipt, I went outside and they weren’t there. Driver stole it and camera confirmed. Bagels in the Hudson is trash

Google
Normally I do not leave reviews, especially bad ones. But this place is terrible. I genuinely don't think there's ever been a time I've ordered from here and they've given me my correct order. Yesterday I asked for a pumpernickel bagel and they gave me a rye bagel. They also never fully cut the sandwiches, EVER!! Don't even bother asking to get it toasted if you're getting it doordashed, they never do. And every single time my boyfriend specifically says to NOT put ketchup on his Taylor ham, they always do. Do not go here unless you're prepared for them to mess up your order somehow, even if it's a simple bagel with cream cheese.

Google
We go almost every week, we love this place! The bagels are always fresh, and they actually follow your order (no extra pile of cheese when you ask for less!). The staff are kind and friendly, and they even gave my kids free cookies once!❤️

Google
I’m born and raised in Brooklyn New York - I moved here a couple of years ago with my mom just her and I. When I tell you this is the best bagel i’ve ever had outside of Brooklyn, I mean it. My mom recently passed this year and I had a bagel here for the first time the other day and I opened the wrapping and immediately started to cry. It brought me back to my childhood. Truly great food here and it really hits home.

Google
Nothing but good things to say. Great coffee, friendly staff and great food. Very nice spot for an early morning visit to enjoy some nice weather. Will come here every time I am in NJ. Thanks y’all!

Christopher P.

Google
I’m not sure what the bad reviews were about. Maybe you’re all spoiled with great bagels down here. We’re from Rochester and in town for the weekend. Tried this place on a whim and everything was incredible. The breakfast sandwiches were huge. The bagel quality was unlike anything we could ever get back home. Will probably stop here on the way out of town. Can’t recommend enough

Google
The old lady is so rude .She has no customer service .Misery on steroids.paid no mind to customer who were waiting for service. She was screaming at the delivery guy. Very loud and unprofessional.lI don't know how he put up with her insulting him. In front of several customers. People walked out . So did I lost my appetite. Horrible lady she has be related to the owner. Pay a worker to give better service and send ANGRY GRANDMA home

Yelp
I just finished having an amazing class on pier 13 with prime cycle! I needed a serious breakfast and coffee right after and came option bagels on the the Hudson as it seemed to have a good attraction. I walked in and they had a pretty extensive menu, plenty of people that attended to you, outside sitting and had grab and go coffee to your preference which I loved! Give me a good cup of coffee and creamer and I'm a happy camper lol the bagel came out quick, was hearty and be try good. $15 dollar for a coffee and bagel is a bit extensive for me on the regular but definitely good for a pop in once in a blue.

Yelp
Came here on whim, closest bagel spot from me and I'm not disappointed. I absolutely love lox bagels and they had a good variety of cream cheeses. The size of the bagel was on the bigger side, but the bagel itself was a bit hard. Not to mention I think they could have been more generous with the cream cheese portion. They gave a good amount of salmon, and the extras were also plentlyful. Kept spilling out the bagel through every bite lol. For the amount of food given, it was $14 and overall not a bad price range (enough for 2 people). The bagel was flavorful and juicy, still enjoyable.

Yelp
Maybe it's just the bagel that I got, but I love their bagels! I stick with the Hudson On The Water bagel - which is smoked salmon, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo. DELICIOUS every time!! It's a big portion and gets me full every time. Quality and taste stays consistent. There is no seating however. Service is usually pretty quick in here, definitely a no frills spot. I think the prices are a little steep for bagels tho. It's around $15 for a specialty menu bagel item. That's a lot for a bagel! This is my new go-to bagel spot in the area!

Yelp
This was the closest bagel spot amidst many on that strip. There was a great amount of options, and the line moved very efficiently. I got their Hoboken's Finest ($10.95) since I was visiting for the first time. Maybe I should have read into it more but the ingredients, the eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, potatoes, and avocado, do not go together. There was a lot going on, yet it still didn't feel like there was any flavor. Ingredients aside, the everything bagel did not do New Jersey justice, as it was probably the worst I had for a fresh bagel too. It was pretty dry, had no flavor, and I dislike when I can taste every seed on the bagel. My boyfriend's hero sounded good on paper, but it was also a flop. I would still give bagels in the area a shot, but not from here next time.

David R.

Yelp
come for the trash breakfast sandwich stay for the rude staff. I assume they coast off their location or this waste of space wouldn't exist. shameful that the owner must take no pride in their business, and is probably just scheming on how to serve older and dryer rolls with less cheese and bacon for more $$$

Yelp
Decided last minute on a Sunday to grab a bagel. Headed over to Bagels On The Hudson and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was able to order and receive my order. Speedy service and delicious breakfast, I'll be back!
google avatar

Maddie L.

Yelp
Definitely used philadelphia cream cheese. My bagel was out in 2 minutes and it was toasted but not warm at all. It seemed like they have them already done like 5 at a time so they can put them out fast. The lady at the register is cold and unfriendly which would be fine if they had good bagels but they don't so their is no redeeming qualities about this place. Only because it was quick service.

Nadia O.

Yelp
Bagels on the Hudson is the PERFECT name for this bagel shop as it tastes exactly like what I'd imagine the Hudson River to be. Bacon egg and cheese on a bagel is not a hard ask. Some would say it's simple. The eggs were wet with a hint of the hudson. Now that I think about it, I should give them 5 stars for perfectly encapsulating our lovely river. 10/10.
google avatar

Meghan M.

Yelp
I knew Hudson went downhill but god damn. I ordered 4 bagels tonight and got my order without a single bagel. How does a bagel place forget the bagels? But Thank God they remembered the pickle. Also I called and apparently they dont believe in answering the phone. Tried 3 different times and it just rang off the hook. This town needs a new bagel spot.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
So I really used to love this place and would order all the time, but recently it's been in a massive decline and I believe it's all steaming from a cleanliness issue. Ordered a bag sandwich, when I got home it had a mouse turd right on top...I've worked in plenty of restaurants, I know a mouse turd when I see it. Okay, accidents happen, didn't ask for a refund or make a fuss. Ordered again a few months later hoping things have gotten better. Nope, food poisoning from that sandwich. Had to call out of work the next day. 2 changes, that's more than enough. Think they need a deep clean and some after kitchen habits.

Yelp
I'd just been at O'Bagel - HORRIBLE. 21 years in Hoboken and I'd never considered this place ... until today. They were playing FUNK, on a Sunday morning. AHHH, YEAAAAH. I'm feeling this place. They had the bagel I wanted; the staff was engaged and THEY HAD CHANGE IN THEIR CASH REGISTER. I'll be back.
google avatar

Roseiby J.

Yelp
I couldn't leave NJ without a pork roll! I was visiting the area and saw this place was nearby. You could definitely tell i'm not from around here but the cashier was super patient and friendly with me. I placed my order and it was ready in no time. There's no place to sit inside but we found a bench not too far from their front door and enjoyed our sandwiches. Mine was so big I ate one half then and saved the other half for a snack later on. It was still delicious a few hours later. Glad I went and was able to check off a Jersey must do off our list!
google avatar

Sara C.

Yelp
Been coming here since 2005 since I went to college but this morning I decided I will never be going back again. Raw bacon on my breakfast sandwich on Easter morning. Thankfully I checked the sandwich and didn't just eat it or else I would have been super sick.

Katelyn H.

Yelp
Consistently solid bagels. Very friendly team. Would recommend. BEC on plain is excellent
google avatar

Conor M.

Yelp
I come here a lot, and the bagels are very good, and all for a good price. 1 for 1.50. Super nice employees as well.
google avatar

Dulce L.

Yelp
I have been coming here for several years to pick up orders when I finish working in the morning. Their bagels are always delicious and fresh. Today I ordered an everything bagel with smoked salmon a little bit of cream cheese and capers. Everything was fresh and delicious. The reason I'm giving you three stars is due to the employee. The woman that works there overnight and in the morning. Even though she sees me and she knows who I am because I have ordered bagels and breakfast there many times. She denies me use of the bathroom. Today as I picked up my everything bagel with smoked salmon I asked her if I could use the bathroom for one second and she informed me that the owners didn't want anyone going to the bathroom. Is this legal? Are the owners aware that she is denying use of the bathroom? She is an extremely rude woman even though she has seen me many times picking up orders. Sad how one person working in an establishment can make you not want to come back.

Kathryn W.

Yelp
We love the bagels here so much (our go-to is cinnamon sugar), but every other time we place an order, we receive cinnamon raisin! This would be totally fine if my partner and I ate raisins, but unfortunately we do not. We usually leave for others in our building to enjoy as not to waste food, but it's clear there's a lack of attention being paid when orders are fulfilled. We once had the bagels delivered twice (we reordered) in the same morning incorrectly. Again, the bagels are great, but if you're quickly picking up or ordering delivery, make sure to double check your bag.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
A trip back home to Jersey isn't 100% without a stop at Bagels on the Hudson. Nothing beats a bacon, egg and cheese with that VIEW!

Dean T.

Yelp
The bagels, cream cheese, sandwiches and the brownie were fantastic. The Owner was super friendly and we were in and out quick. Will definetley come back everytime we visit the city.
google avatar

Luke S.

Yelp
If I lived in Georgia, I'd be pretty spoiled when it comes to peaches. Justin Bieber wrote a song about them and peaches are on almost every license plate in Georgia. I'd have such a high bar for quality peaches. I'm assuming people that live in New York and New Jersey have high standards for their bagels. That's the only reason I could think of for why Bagels on the Hudson has such poor reviews. Compared to California bagels, these were amazing! I hope anyone who gave this place a 1 or 2 stars for quality of the bagel never goes out of New York/New Jersey to get bagels. They will be thoroughly disappointed.
google avatar

J I.

Yelp
The food was utterly disgusting, I'm assuming jail food taste better than this place. The entire order was wrong. The pancakes, I could've used as a weapon to throw at someone, they were hard. The French toast a joke, toilet paper probably has more flavor. The egg and cheese bagels, were NOT, the bagels I ordered, they didn't call to tell me they didn't have they gave me whatever which I couldn't eat cause I was allergic thanks assholes for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Avocados on egg and cheese were supposed to be on side doesnt matter anyway cause they were bad, cause they were BLACK.Good luck trying to reach a manager or owner,I've tried calling for 3 days, to make the order right. They must be with Casper cause they don't exist. Whoever owns this place, or cooks for this place really hates their job. I would never ever order from this place again. LIFE LESSON LEARNED, DO NOT GO HERE.. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
google avatar

Vishnu G.

Yelp
I got spinach and a fried egg on a whole wheat everything bagel with cream cheese and roasted red peppers. The bagel was a bit on the dry side, but not too terrible. The sandwich made for a solid lunch.

Sandy S.

Yelp
I like the dry bagels. Very bad service though. The server ALWAYS acts like I own her a million dollars. Last time when I was there. I asked "any sparking water?" She went "ah?" I said "I will just take a bottled water. She went "ah?" I said "can I get a whole wheat bagel?" She went "ah?" I said "any napkins I can grab?" She went "ah?" Every single time. I've had enough. Done. For good. When people act this way, I assume it is not their fault and think it's just their upbringings or they are using drugs so they act this nasty and lazy. But hey I am probably wrong it's just their nature!

Michael P.

Yelp
Only get bagels/breakfast sandwiches here! I have no idea how they still regular lunch sandwiches, they are not good. Solid bagels, very friendly staff, they will forget things when it's busy so remember to ask for things twice. Will continue to support this place but I wish they would revamp their menu and be more careful about getting orders correctly.

Mary H.

Yelp
Ain't nothing to laugh about This place deceived me into believing I would get a solid breakfast sandwich. Upon my first bite I noticed the RANCID aroma coming from the ham on my sandwich as the bite continued the taste was if you left something in the back of the fridge too long. Smelled like wishing well and booty. The bacon was undercooked and extremely floppy and thin. The spinach was brown and not fresh. The egg was dry and overcooked very spongy and ALSO tasted off. I wish I could get a refund but Uber eats doesn't really work like that. I really hope I don't get sick. Please don't waste your money eating here. I'm in absolute shock of how you make such a terrible breakfast sandwich. It's the worst sandwich I've ever purchased. Should be shut down.
google avatar

Tsoler T.

Yelp
This place did its job. Very busy on a Saturday morning. We waited 20 minutes for our bagel sandwiches. Not a sit down type of place, more of a grab and go.
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
This is the last time we will be using this place. BEC on a bagel - Bagel is burnt, half of it can't be eaten because of how hard it is. The eggs are over cooked which also looks burned and for some reason, the bacon is piled on one half while the other half doesn't have any. The second sandwich was just missing. And they sent one apple juice instead of two. Something like this happens every time. Enough chances of redemption were given. Time to move our business elsewhere.
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
I want to like this place because their delivery service is so quick but the food quality is pretty inconsistent. I've ordered from here in the past and had good meals and other times you can tell they rush through making it. The iced coffee is pretty good, though. I think the bagels are overall decent - good texture and size. However, today my bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was underwhelming. There was barely any egg on it and the bacon was thin, chewy and essentially inedible. I ended up taking most of it off of my sandwich. The last time I ordered from here the bacon was perfectly crispy so I'm not sure what happened. Overall, if you want a bagel delivered quickly this is a reliable spot but don't expect the best bagel you've ever had.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
I got the Bagelcado. It was delicious! Highly recommend trying this combination of scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, avocado, and scallion cream cheese!
google avatar

August G.

Yelp
What happened to this place? I think it must have changed owners, because the recipe they use for their bagels has changed. They used to be proper bagels with a chewy inside and a crisp outer crust. You could tell they were made the traditional way of boiling first and then baking in the oven. This is what gives it the traditional bagel texture. Now the bagels are more like bread and the appearance of a kaiser roll. Very bready and none of the distinctive bagel texture / flavor. So disappointing. Also, as others have said, the service is super poor. The older woman who works there is abrupt and pushy with the customers. We were the only ones in the shop on Sunday afternoon and she would not give us a chance to decide what we wanted. Then someone else came in and she turned away from us and said immediately to the girl that walked in "What do you want lady?" I have lived in Hoboken for 26 years and this was my go-to place. Emphasis on WAS.

Nikki K.

Yelp
I have given this place 3 chances. First time they gave me jalapeño cream cheese instead of scallion. Second time they put egg in a Taylor ham and cheese that wasn't supposed to have egg. And today they gave us a COLD (see pic) Taylor ham and cheese. My husband didn't eat it. It's honestly the most basic order. Not sure how you mess that up. So not only do they mess up the most simplest of things - it's expensive for what it is. $21 for two bagels and 2 coffees. Not going back. Gross
google avatar

Brandon C.

Yelp
Not sure what's with the negative reviews. In my opinion this is the best bagel place in Hoboken. Me and my girl friend had tried most if not all of the bagel spots in Hoboken, with high expectations. Some we were disappointed, others we were satisfied. Bagels on the Hudson left us with faith restored in Hoboken's bagel scene ! I wish i could capture the size of the bagel, the bagel itself is larger than an infants head which is great. The texture of the bagel is chewy but also harder on the outside. The coloring of the bagels (pumpernickel and wheat) is as expected too! There's nothing wrong with this place, there's much more right with it than wrong! This is our new go to bagel spot in Hoboken!

Chris G.

Yelp
This place sucks. They put barely any cream cheese on both of our bagels. I'd stay away from this place.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
Let me caution you...DON'T ORDER FROM HERE!!! The worst experience ever. I placed an order at 11:47 and then at 12:14 the restaurant called me asking what time I wanted the order tomorrow. No. The delivery said between 12:45am-12:55, why are you asking me about tomorrow morning. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, and the product isn't worth it. I was just craving a bagel, and they are the only open but apparently not. Lazy and uninformed staff, they should be shut down.
google avatar

Nonya B.

Yelp
It's not amazing. Firstly, no one works here. I walked in on several women just gossiping behind the counter .. no one bothered to see if they had a customer???? We had to ask "do you guys work here?" And then finally someone responded. K cool. I ordered a bagel, egg, and cheese. This man made my bagel so fast, i thought he just put salt and pepper on the bagel and closed it. I waz wrong! He did actually cook an egg to my amazement. Wow! I said to myself. I tried the bagel and it was mediocre (not even toasted...?) But all things considered: service suqqd, food was average, and it was overpriced compared to NICER bagel stores. Will not be bAck.
google avatar

Joe K.

Yelp
Bagels on the Hudson is an amazing bagel shop, that I highly recommend. I was planning a Sunday brunch after my wedding at the W hotel in Hoboken and got in touch with the owner, Doug who was absolutely amazing. He was very easy to work with and put together various packages for all our guests. On the morning of the brunch he provided everything, in large platters of lox and bagels and cream cheese, coffee and fruit. All the guests were raving about how delicious the bagels were. If you're looking for just a quick bagel or helping with a larger party, Bagels on the Hudson is the place to go.

George H.

Yelp
People are very nasty here, Came for a late night bagel at 12 people act like they don't even wanna be here i was trying to be nice but just got more attitude
google avatar

Sonia P.

Yelp
Love their Rainbow Bagels!! Super freshly baked bagels everyday with a vairety of cream cheeses and fillings. Their latest addition is a chocolate chip bagel! Staff is always friendly and service is super quick despite the busy rush hour traffic!
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Was willing to give this place another shot but it was just okay. Delivery was pretty quick on a Sunday morning but the bagels were just meh. I also had one tomato on my bagel sandwich which was kind of a bummer. And they got my order wrong, as I asked for a half dozen of whole wheat everything bagels and got regular everything instead. I assume they ran out so I won't hold it against them. Overall though... just ok.

Ernesto S.

Yelp
Food (bagels) is amazing!! All types and ways to eat a bagel. Friendly staff and very busy place
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
For a while this was my go-to spot for bagels and sandwiches. I still think they do solid breakfast and deli sandwiches, though there are better options in Hoboken. I don't love the physical bagels (they're good but nothing special) which I have trouble overlooking. The service has also been inconsistent and I saw the early signs of a trend of my order being incorrect. Nonetheless, a fine spot for a bagel breakfast, bacon egg and cheese, or a deli sandwich (on a bagel if you want a BIG sandwich)

Matt M.

Yelp
So I actually really like the bagels here, but this is an unacceptable ratio. Two strips of bacon and I'm not even sure there was one full egg on the entire sandwich. Wouldn't go here expecting a nice fat breakfast sandwich.
google avatar

Rose C.

Yelp
Bad service the lady I think her name is Milly gave me an attitude cause I don't know what I wanted at first and than I asked her what's good and she was rude she said I don't know what you like, and made my bagel nasty not even toasted and the bagel was hard as a rock
google avatar

Juliana T.

Yelp
Having ordered bagel sandwiches here on more than one occasion, I've arrived at a couple conclusions. 1) The bagels are decent, and 2) the service is not. Let's start with the bagels - large, with a nice outer shell and a chewy interior. Solid, but nothing to write home about. The service, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. Not only have they they messed up my order on multiple occasions (ie, didn't toast my bagel, left out ingredients, used the wrong cream cheese), the service is painfully slow, even when there's no one else in the store. I've also seen the cashier, an older woman, being too distracted by her phone to ring customers up. Also, about the half the employees do not wear masks or wear it under their noses, all while Omicron was surging and while they're handling food.
google avatar

Shari C.

Yelp
While walking through town, sometimes the bagel craving just hits you...and that's when I ended up at Bagels On The Hudson for lunch. Upon first impressions, the place seemed promising. They have a wide variety of bagel selections and cream cheese/butter flavors (chocolate anyone?). Guys behind the counter were friendly when taking our order, however the woman at the cashier was not. The bagels tasted a tad stale and the breakfast sandwich was just okay, no "wow" factor. Items were pricier compared to other bagel shops in the area. It's convenient that this place is open 24/7. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Aw, an average of 2 stars for Bagels on the Hudson seems too harsh. They're not that bad! Skimming over the other reviews, perhaps ordering delivery is not the way to go though. I've had their bagels both at the shop and when someone picked them up. The everything bagel comes in a whole wheat option which is nice. I was disappointed that the scallion cream cheese was rather scanty with the scallions. It's not like scallions are crazy expensive or anything. But I will say that overall, they don't hold back on the cream cheese. Bagels on the Hudson doesn't appear to have much of any inside seating but has about four tables right outside. It's open 24 hours too which is a plus. The guy helping us wasn't overly overjoyed to serve us but he surely wasn't hostile or surly. Bagels are big and chewy, and the everything was sprinkled generously with everything, though I'd like more on the undersides. I also have it on good authority that the whitefish salad is quite tasty, if you're into that sort of thing.

Lisa S.

Yelp
In addition to making a good Egg bagel, their pork roll, egg and cheese on a hard roll is a go-to.....So is the peanut butter and jelly and bacon - good combo!
google avatar

Eleni B.

Yelp
If you are looking for a good bagel, look no further. I was recommended to go here by my roommate who's from New Jersey, and she said the best bagels are in Jersey. I would tend to agree (with maybe one exception). The bagels are perfectly seasoned with the perfect amount of chewy bagelness in the texture. The cream cheese is like sliced on there in a perfect ratio. It's super quick as well. It's open 24 hours, so it's even open when I leave for work!! They have lots of types of bagels, lots and spreads, and some coffee choices. Check it out!

G R.

Yelp
I've been going here and Obagel for years. I was at Bagels last night and ordered a THE&C around 1 a.m. when I got my food the Taylor Ham was missing. I went to the counter to tell the lady and she started yelling for me to get out. She didn't want to hear about it. IM DONE WITH THIS PLACE. Don't waste your time. The food is good, but the counter help sucks.
