Italian Restaurants in Tallahassee (2025)
Bagigio's

Very delicious food! My caprese salad was lovely and brought me to tears with the wonderful taste! The bruschetta was crunchy and a perfect complent to the caprese salad. We loved the supreme pizza and a white-sauced chicken/banana pepper pizza. The lasagna was good and interesting (it doesn't have ricotta cheese)! We're still munching on the cheesy bread. We ordered so much food, we brought leftovers home. They apologized for being short-staffed that day, but they were very attentive and we didn't lack anything or have to wait, except for the cooking of the food. They kept our glasses (Jones sodas!!) filled. They've really learned their craft and it shows.

Google
We randomly picked Bagigio's for takeout and really got lucky! Walking in I knew this was a good call, the big oven dominating the room gives off great atmosphere immediately. The pizza is classic Italian style, and absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and comfortable. Service was quick, the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. We'll be going back for a sit down meal soon

Pizza is very good and cooked perfectly. Ingredients are quality. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere. Well worth the drive from Tallahassee.

10.18.25/3.45p - this was my second time supporting them and definitely the last. First offense: I called and immediately was put on on hold for 10+ minutes. I hung up and tried calling back to no avail.... Apparently, I was still on hold. I arrived to see the phone sitting face down next to the register. I asked a young who came to take my order whether I was still on hold 😆. He picked up the phone and said, "is it working now?" I replied, "it would be if I wasn't still on hold; I wanted to do a call in." He did apologize; maybe 2x. The lady who put me on hold just walked on by without an apology. I spent $74+ here on mediocre food: bland sauce (is it really homemade?) and disappointingly thin (burnt in a few places) crusts that didn't hint at being authentically Italian, at all. Unfortunately, my phone died and I couldn't grab pics of when I picked it up. I dropped it off to the ones I bought it for and they forgot the pics. Currently I can't think of a reason to return.

Google
I noticed them once while driving to Woodville and thought it was a cute little establishment. Then I followed them on social media and have been wanting to go, so yesterday I went with my husband and my son. The pizza was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambiance was warm and cozy. Oh, and the gelato was very good too. All and all, a great place to visit. We will be back!

Google
We came in to try a cheese pizza! Oh my goodness- best we have ever had since moving here over a year ago! The owner was very pleasant & outgoing! Will recommend to all my family & friends. I give it a 10/10 We will DEFINITELY be back!

Google
Decided to try today for the first time and was disappointed. They were stingy with the toppings you pay extra for ($1.50x3). As far as the supreme pizza, you can see the crust was clearly burnt. Plus, it’s like they just threw the toppings on the pizza. I am not sure why this was even acceptable to hand to a customer.

Google
Nice place to stop on the way back to Tallahassee after a day of hiking. The lunch special is a great deal; Jones soda on tap is wonderful, and they have the good crunchy ice. I got a standard pepperoni pizza, no complaints. The ambiance is great, nice and clean inside. Our waitress was very sweet, and the GM came over and personally spoke with us. This was my partner's second time.

Yelp
Things finally aligned to get a chance to try this Italian restaurant that we have been wanting to try. First visit will not be the last. They are in a brand new building on the way into Woodville. There is a good bit of parking. The dining area is one big space with tables and booths. There's a little bit of bar seating facing the wood fired oven. There's table service and pleasant folks to wait on you. I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese and the wife got the Lunch Special pizza. The Bolognese didn't have enough meat to suit me and it hadn't been cooked long enough to develop that rich depth of flavor that my all time favorite Bolognese at Mimmo's in Destin has. More like a marinara sauce than a rich and thick bolognese. The pizza, on the other hand, was stellar. Tasty thin and crispy crust with a nice sauce, delicious cupped pepperoni and plenty of cheese where extra cheese might be overkill. Would have loved more fennel bite in the sliced Italian sausage but the overall taste of the pizza was so good I wouldn't quibble. We have a local pizza favorite close to home but I would drive right by them, all the way through town and down to Woodville for this pizza. It tasted that good.

Yelp
Whats going on with our favorite pizza place? We've been regulars for a couple of years, loved the pizza and the service, server Chelsea was a gem. Went this week and everything was different. Chelsea appears to be gone, as was the regular pizza maker, our server while nice enough seemed clueless, couldn't remember our order, lost the order of the table behind us and they had to re-order it, had to ask for cutlery and plates after food came. No lemonade, seems they've changed the signature root-beer as well. The pizza was the worse, both Pizzas ordered came out over-cooked, and one was just plain charred black all over, we overheard the pizza maker tell the server he thought they were overdone, but for him to even think it was edible and present it to us was baffling. He offered to remake the one but we had already waited enough. The one we kept we could only eat half, it had an odd square shape to it, smaller than the medium we always get, tasted like it lacked salt and tomato sauce, which was always excellent in their pizzas, and even all the toppings couldn't make up for it. Seems they are going through some changes, but all new staff and changing recipes is a bad combination. We will wait a couple of months to try it again and see if they get it together, or search for a new pizza place.

Yelp
Bagigio's is a tiny gem in south Leon County. Located in Woodville, this pizza spot offers wood fired pizzas, fresh salads, a few pasta options, and their own Gelato. They also have house made limoncello! The waitstaff is friendly & attentive. You can grab a table or sit at on a stool with a view of the pizza making action. Great for take out or dining in. I highly recommend the calzone and the peanut butter Gelato.

Yelp
Would love to follow up and give my best to Terry and Sarek that made good on my Pizza. I have been trying something new on the menu each visit. Last one was just a fumble. Thanks again.

Yelp
Honestly this place was great when they first opened. Quality has gone down. Cheese taste less quality and much more salty, sauce is lacking flavor, crust is meh. Employees aren't trained. Not sanitary. You don't handle money then touch all over someone's food. Pizza is super salty $35 for a large cheese pizza. Every time I go their prices have gone up. One time my husband called in an order and I went to pick it up and they take the pizza out and a guy asked if I wanted basil I was confused and was like "uh no it's ok?.." and it turns out my husband ordered it with basil so why are you asking me if it's on the ticket- learn how to read. Dined in before and service is bad- like no training at all. Wouldn't recommend. Last time I order a salad Togo they forgot the chicken. Just a waste of time and money honestly.

Yelp
Place is clean, quick service and the pizza was delicious! Server was helpful. Affogatos were interesting as it seems they were made with hazelnut coffee not espresso. Didn't hate it. I'd go back!

Brandy C.

Yelp
We loved this place but tonight was awful. From the service to the food. Had to wait 15 mins before we ordered drinks took 15 to get drinks then she said she would be right back to take our order. 20 mins later we placed our order. Waitress never came back to check on us. My husband had to get up to ask for another drink. Once we got our food my husband asked for meatballs. Didn't get the meatballs the noodles weren't undercooked. They said they are working on getting meatballs. Meanwhile my meal had hamburger in it. Our meals didn't have any flavor. Just a little bit of oregano or even some salt would help. The cheese bread was cold. Before we were done they wanted to cash us out. They had about 5 people working with only 3 tables of 3 or less people at each. Im guessing the owners, not sure, sat down to eat their dinner. I beat their noodles were fully cooked. Horrible service, food not that great anymore. Very disappointed. Instead of investing so much into the parking lot you should invest in your service and food. I'm sure people don't mind parking in a dirt lot. I mean we are in Woodville. Most of us live on a dirt road. It will be a while before we go back.

Yelp
Best Pizza truly. The service is good and ambiance is spectacular! They actually built the restaurant around the rotating pizza oven. Amazing!!!! They also have great food!
google avatar

Christopher R.

Yelp
First time here and the pizza was great! The restaurant was clean and not too busy, and had only one server working which seemed ok. Service overall was a 3.5/5, food was a 5/5, restaurant overall 4/5. Sadly, a couple and their child walked in at 8:45, sat down, and then were told they would not be served because they close at 9. I get it, but if the door is open it is bad business to refuse service. Just my opinion. The family seemed really upset too.

L L.

Yelp
Good food, excellent service but the large pizza is extremely expensive - $35-$36 if you compare it to Tallahassee. I would do a price structure studies to make more competitive to Tallahassee pizza market.

Alicia P.

Yelp
Have been here twice. First visit had the best custom made pizza and salad. My pizza is made with Alfredo sauce instead tomato. Add basil and mushroom. Perfection! Second visit I had the sausage calzone. Again excellent and tasty. Great attention from server (group of 5). Enjoy the atmosphere.

Yelp
First visit and we were pleased. Food was good, priced reasonably. Sat at the counter and watched the cooks working non stop. Was busy but not loud noise level. Overall pretty much what you would expect. If you like Italian / Pizzeria restaurant approach you will like this one.

Yelp
Bagigio's, what happened??? We stopped and got a large supreme to go Sunday. It was so greasy! I had heartburn all day yesterday. And the price has gone up almost $10 since last year!! It's $36 now! Would have hurt less if the pizza was as good as a few months ago. I can't in good faith recommend y'all anymore.
google avatar

Yelp
Picked up a large supreme Pizza for take out. The Pie was being pulled from the oven as I arrived. The time given when ordering was spot on and so was the Pizza pie. They also supplied some extra parmigiana cheese and red pepper flakes to go with. They had me check it out before leaving and it was perfect. Upon arriving home had to take a picture of its perfection before devouring. It was delicious and exactly what I was looking for in a pizza pie. I cannot eat like this daily but will hold out for this place when I do. Recommend anyone who what's a quality pizza pie to try them out.

Yelp
My husband and I went here while on vacay in Tallahassee, we didn't expect such a nice quality restaurant in the middle of nowhere! It was beyond delicious and our server was very hospitable. We got a half and half. One side with margherita, one with their white pizza. It's outstanding. One of the best white pizzas we've ever had. If we ever go back to the area we'd absolutely visit them again. Highly recommend!

Cynthia H.

Yelp
They are back under Ms. Terry's management and back to excellence! Chelsea is the best server ever. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Joella D.

Yelp
Was greeted warmly on arrival. You order at the counter and sit at any table you want and food is delivered to your table. The space is nicely decorated and feels open and airy. The food is fresh and made to order. We shared a salad which was good but the portion was small not really big enough to share (we ordered the large salad). They have 3 sizes for pizza: individual (which is perfect for one person, looks small but was perfect), medium which is good enough to share for 2 people and large which is huge. The dough is incredible, one of the best I have had in the USA. Tomato sauce is also excellent not acid and with tons of flavor. Prices are on the higher side but everything is great quality and I thought was worth it. Make sure to save room for dessert because the ice cream is home made and seriously good - worth every calorie. Would recommend.

Yelp
This business is tucked under some trees. Barely noticeable if you aren't looking for it. Definitely worth the stop. You walk in and place your order and choose where you'd like to sit. We walked right in at 3 and had prompt courteous service. Everyone was very attentive and we never went with an empty cup. The stuffed cheese bread was delicious as well as the Pizza Americana. They are a little heavy handed with the cornmeal on their products. We purchased a Stromboli which came out like more of a calzone. Only reason we gave the restaurant a 4 star is due to the garlic in the Stromboli. It was poorly diced and there were several whole cloves. I love garlic but an entire bite of it will take you back if you aren't ready. Over all it's an upscale pizza restaurant, with great ambiance and wonderful customer service
google avatar

Dawn K.

Yelp
Pizza is excellent, service prompt & friendly. We've been there twice recently. I like that they carry soft drinks that are not either of the main 2. The restaurant itself is pretty big with lots of space, which I always appreciate.

Marci M.

Yelp
Pizza was amazing! Got the medium White Pepperoni Special and more than fed 2. Clean and pretty inside.

Yelp
Bagigio's is located on Woodville Highway in South Tallahassee, more popularly known as Woodville. It's an Italian casual restaurant. You'd think the star item is the pizza and to many, you'll be correct. But make no mistake the hidden gem here is the homemade ice cream! The ice cream is elegantly served on a plate. No cup. No cone. The flavors include key lime, blueberry, apple pie, strawberry, Nutella, expresso and vanilla. We tried the key lime ice cream. It was served as a round 1" to 1 1/2" slice. To our surprise a scoop of vanilla was on top with a generous sprinkling of graham cracker crumbs. There are two options: small for $4 or large for $7. We opted for the small. And it was a good thing because you WANT to save room for dessert after pizza. The portion size is generous and plenty for two people. Keep dessert in mind when you order the pizza! They have three sizes, a ten inch personal pizza (size of a dinner plate), a medium pizza and a large. We ordered the medium Pizza Bagigio's, their namesake. This pizza was topped with Tomato sauce, Mozzarella cheese, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Hamburger, Mushrooms, and Red Onions. The pizza is cooked in a wood-fired one-of-a-kind suspended oven. It's behind the counter so you can see it from nearly every one of the 15 or so tables. The tables and the counter are also works of art. They're live edge tables made from 200-year-old reclaimed trees pulled straight from the Suwannee River, as their website touts. The pizza was excellent! Hot, crispy crust and plentiful toppings in every bite. Again, good thing we split the medium because we had room for dessert! The restaurant was built from the ground up. It's nicely decorated with plants in the windows, brick flooring and leather booths surround the live edge tables. The service was welcoming, friendly and personable. If you're looking for a nice reasonable drive and want to try something new, this is a great option and we will return.

Yelp
Authentic pizza and food . A must if your headed to the coast grab a Gelato or pizza . The calzones and salads are large .

Yelp
We came here for the first time today and it was an outstanding experience. Their wood-fired oven gives the pizzas a delightful flavor with an amazingly light and crispy crust. Our supreme pizza, topped with olives, baby pepperoni (not greasy) onions, Italian sausage and mushrooms was supremely delicious- and not salty as most pizzas would be. The caesar salad was are a perfect complement, bursting with vibrant, fresh crispy lettuce and croutons and crunch red onions with a perfect Caesar dressing that wasn't overloaded with salt. The mango gelato was refreshing and just had the right amount of sweetness and zing. The tiramisu was light and creamy with just the right amount of coffee that made it delightfully rich! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a casual meal with friends or family. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Definitely worth the drive from Tallahassee. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Went to Baggios's in Woodville last night. Our waitress Sheila was amazing. She made sure everything was perfect and that we had our drinks refilled spot on.will definitely go again

Yelp
Quaint little place outside of Tallahassee. Would not have come out this way but the reviews and pictures on Yelp drew me in. Glad I made the drive. This is my kind of pizza. Thin, brick over style. Cheeses and sauce are fresh and delicious. Wife ordered a calzone and couldn't stop talking about the sauce. A little too much ricotta for me, but that's just my preference. She loved it. Staff was very welcoming and service was fast.

Kim G.

Yelp
My husband and I had been curious about this place and saw it was open today as we were returning to Tallahassee from the beach. My hubby got the Americana and I got the Deluxe with extra cheese. The pizzas were very good, with tasty crust and savory meats on the Americana and fresh veggies on the Deluxe. The interior is nice and interesting. The service was a little slow at first but we found out someone called out so our server came in to cover. She was very concerned that we had everything we needed. We will definitely return!

Dianne P.

Yelp
I was here on an early Saturday afternoon. I wasn't sure if they were open or not but, fortunately for me they were. Chelsea greeted me warmly. The interior was spotless and the tables so cute. The greeting was very friendly. I ordered a Coke and later decided on one of their smaller pizzas with pineapple, ricotta, ham and pepperoni. The pizza crust rocked Even though I would prefer mine a little more crisp on the bottom. When I return, I am going to order lasagna or a calzone. And there will be a next time.
google avatar

Cleo T.

Yelp
Pizza was okay! The crust was too thin and the sauce lacked flavor. I ordered the all meats - topping were NOT plentiful. The staff was nice! The pizza is not for me.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Amazing service and great pizza. Loved the atmosphere and home town vibe with a splash of Italy in this little eatery
google avatar

Allen B.

Yelp
Folks have been talking this place up on the Tallahassee Foodies FB page. Was passing through on way back to TLH from St. Marks and stopped to get a pizza to go. As soon as I walked through the door, I was warmly welcomed. This place is family run and everyone there was very friendly. I ordered a 20" Pizza Bagigio. I have to say this is now the best pizza joint in the Tallahassee area and bests the current "big three" of pizza. The pizza was excellent and the crust is hands down the BEST pizza crust I've had around here. They have a Marana rotating pizza oven that was shipped from Italy. It's impressive. That demonstrates the owners' commitment to making the best pizza. Apparently they're working on getting beer/wine. Might be waiting on the license. Anyway, love this place and will be back!

Thomas G.

Yelp
As a New England pizza snob who grew up in Connecticut I was pleasantly surprised by this pizza. I honestly stopped eating pizza in Florida when I moved here because of the constant disappointment and thus was honestly the best pizza I've eaten in Florida in the last 3 years. We got the margarita pie and it was excellent. Great tang and spice in the sauce, and the crust was the star of the show. Nice and thin yet perfect crisp and doughy center. Well done!
google avatar

Wes A.

Yelp
It had been a while since I've been to this lovely little restaurant. But we went back for some pizza and some beer. Everything was delicious and the pizza sauce and mozzarella just perfect. They're just perfect.
google avatar

Valerie F.

Yelp
10/10 would recommend! This place was so cute outside it caught our attention on our way into Tallahassee and it's really not far from the Southwood area at all. There was no wait and the pizza was the best we have had in Tallahassee area. You can tell the dough is fresh and crust isn't tough like at some other local places. We each got personal sized pizza and a salad. I wished the menu were a little more extensive with like a weekly special or something and its also kid friendly as there is no alcohol to my knowledge. The pizza had that yummy wood-fire taste and ingredients were super fresh!
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
Am from Chi, we know our pizza, mind you, I cannot stand deep dish. I love this place. It had a family vibe to it Also there was a line to order here outside of the building. It was straight up dang delicious!!! I got a custom with double pineapple and basil (they use fresh pineapple) The cheese, I can't explain it- it was amazing!! Crust was perfect. Probably in top three pizzas I've ever had in my life.

Amy V.

Yelp
It is delicious! We had a large house salad, a lasgna, and the girls ordered a kids pizza. The kids pizza was pretty big for a kids meal. It was sweet, thin, and crispy. The lasagna had like 6 layers and the sauce was more rustic, not sweet like the pizza. It was SPECTACULAR!! The background music was perfection.
google avatar

Talese C.

Yelp
We came here from Tallahassee and it was so worth it. The pizza is very authentic and of course, delicious. They have a beautiful pizza oven and you can sit at the bar to watch them being made. It is owned and operated by a lovely family! Highly recommend checking this place out!
google avatar

Debra B.

Yelp
The worst Pizza I've ever had in my life. I am 64 so that's been a lot of years that I've eaten pizza. This pizza was overpriced; burnt so badly all I could taste was burnt, chewy chewy cheese, pepperoni so overcooked they were bowl of oil. The sauce was dried up so nonexistent. The pizza crust was black on the bottom. Horrible!!!!!! I would not recommend this pizza to anyone.Pizza Bagigio in Woodvill

Jeffrey R.

Yelp
This might be Tallahassee's next best restaurant that's shown up in a while. I'll get to the pizza in a sec, but y'all need to come by and just have them show you their stove! Literally shipped from Italy and is suspended over the foundation to make THE best pizza. We got the Margherita Pizza and a Calzone. All I gotta say, is I had a ratatouille moment

Susan S.

Yelp
Superb was the word we used in our first days of coming to Bagigios in Woodville. It was convenient for us as we live nearby. But now we are noticing the pizzas are coming out much "flatter" as if the dough is collapsing during the cooking process, or dough doesn't have same ingredients as it used to have? The pizza is just not as Superb as it was in Bagigio's the first several months of their opening. I don't like eating pizza that falls over when you pick a piece up, and the total thickness of that piece is an eighth of an inch.
google avatar

Paula K.

Yelp
My husband had a lovely experience at Bagigio's. Our server, Chelsea, was extremely sincere and effusive about her pleasure in serving us and her appreciation for the food they serve. We had two choices of crust and we chose the thinnest. Our pie included tomato sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella, ham, mushrooms and parmesan. The homemade gelato (peanut butter with chocolate) was well worth saving room for.

Jose M.

Yelp
Beautiful place. Food is overprice. mozzarella cheese on pizzas is not the best quality.

Victoria F.

Yelp
Second time here for late lunch. Service was excellent, fresh lemonade as well as the home made limoncello were also. Great pizza and ok Cesar salad. This place is a hidden treasure. Highly recommend if you like oven fired thin crust pizza. Impeccably clean and very nicely decorated.

Fred G.

Yelp
We finally stopped in for lunch. Superb! We had the Yellowstone pizza, a Deluxe pizza and really great iced tea. We are regulars now.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
Wow! This restaurant surprises you in the best ways possible. Second time this week we ate at Bagigio's. Warm interior and incredible food with such great service (Chelsea is so personable and nice and attentive). We were a party of four tonight, and wanted to bring friends here after coming for the first time earlier in the week. Tonight, the margherita and sarek pizzas were excellent (the crust -- chef's kiss), and the coffee and pistachio gelatos were so delicious, we were asking Chelsea if they sold it by the pint! Everyone in our party was all smiles tonight at the end of the meal. We will be telling our friends and colleagues about this gem - and we will be back!

Mark T.

Yelp
Great lunch on a quick run up to Tallahassee. Ordered the rustic bread, a medium cheese, and their amazing eponymous pie. Perfect sized meal for four. Nice service too.

Thomas F.

Yelp
Awesome and amazing, the food was great, pizza was the best I have had since I was in Italy. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Service is smooth and at a country pace. I would highly encourage you to visit
google avatar

Cody C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and fantastic pizza. I'm happy to see such a quality Italian restaurant in my hometown.

Ann D.

Yelp
Great pizza with fresh ingredients, friendly staff, quick service. Gelato is good too!
google avatar

Bill G.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and welcomed us when we first walked in. They let us know to sit anywhere and come up to the counter when we were ready to order. The pizza was very good and they do not skimp on the toppings. $31.00 for large create your own pizza (with two meats and two vegetables) and two drinks.
