NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"When The Corner Store opened with fancy Totino’s on the menu, this entire city lost its collective mind. Pizza bagels are the next former frozen food to get the restaurant treatment. But at Bagizza—a 24/7 spot in Midtown—they’re not exactly the Bagel Bites you’re used to; instead Bagizza’s “flagels” are flattened bagel dough that’s topped and baked with things like shrimp and mayo, or artichoke. They also sell hybrid NYC-Montreal-style bagels, have a hot buffet, and, somehow, a prime rib lunch special." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

At Bagizza, two great NYC foods don't go great together - Review - New York - The Infatuation

"Pizza Bagels are one of the crown jewels of the freezer aisle. So when we heard about Bagizza, a Midtown spot that’s open 24/7, we were intrigued. That was before the first of many (too many) chews. photo credit: Will Hartman Let’s start by defining “bagizza.” At this Midtown deli—with a “Don’t Microdose on Love” sign over the counter and Le Creuset gratin pans on the hot bar—they take bagel dough, roll it out flat, top it with things like cheese and sauce, or short rib and pesto, and shove it in an oven. The result is a crunchy outer circumference, and a center that's raw and kind of doughy. There’s a reason why centuries of bakers have developed pizza and bagel doughs differently, and (unless you’re Leo and Apollo), the two are best kept apart. Topped with a sweet tomato sauce that’s even sweeter alongside the natural sweetness of the bagel dough, the combination is a flavor and textural mistake. And the actual bagels they’re baking aren’t great either: dense, chewy, a serious jaw workout. Use Bagizza like you would any deli, and you’ll probably be fine—especially if you find yourself in Midtown hungry at 4am. photo credit: Will Hartman photo credit: Will Hartman photo credit: Will Hartman Pause Unmute" - Will Hartman

They have a salad bar that looks delicious and they also have hot dishes. The bagels were not the best I had in NY, but the bagel pizza was pretty good. The chai was super sweet and tasted very little like a real chai. Service is great and very fast. There was seating available although it was pretty packed. Bathroom was clean.

Awesome new spot by grand central. Easy and quick to grab one of these unique flagels on the way to the train and really good. I got the pepperoni with vodka sauce and hot honey and it was delicious. Loved the chewy bagel dough, haven’t had anything like it in nyc. Want to go back to try the other options. Highly recommend!

This place is impressive. Exactly like mangia but much more ample and therefore not crowded. The food is definitely gourmet. The grilled carrots I had were the best carrots I have ever had in my life! I wish I could have tried everything!

When I first stepped inside, I was in awe from the interior to their delicious bagel + pizza combination that they made it to a word called "Bagizza" which was genius! I waited like 10 mins for my order which wasn't too bad. It was delicious. My friend and I loved it! And with that, I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with butter and honey and it was out of this world! It was sweet and savory. The bagel was chewy and soft like it just came out of the oven. Will definitely come back again to try our their drinks, I heard their matcha drinks are to die for! ✨

Family and I tried this spot while we were walking around on 5th ave. We thought it would be fun to get pizza and bagels in the evening! We had three pizzas. One was the meat pizza and others were the spicy vodka. The pizzas weren’t anything to rave about or come back again though. The dough was okay and the flavor of the meat pizza was bland. The vodka one had a good flavor and a bit more other flavors like garlic. The bagels on the other hand not impressed at all. They were tough and very bland. I expected the cinnamon rasin one to taste like cinnamon raisin but couldn’t taste that at all. The cream cheese was creamy and had a bit more flavor but again nothing to rave about. Lastly the place was filthy. Every table dirty, trash bins full and trash on the floor and the bathroom.. yuck!

Came here by chance and happened to be opening day. I had the seared tuna, braised carrots, and steamed cod. All were fantastic! People helping were also very friendly. Was able to grab a nice window seat, and people watch, too. And you can’t beat the price! Will be back next trip to NYC!

I’ve never experienced a restaurant in New York that combines such pristine elegance with truly impeccable flavors. From the refined atmosphere to the beautifully crafted dishes, everything was perfect. A new favorite—without a doubt!

Google
Love this place! The bagel pizza was so delicious. I got the vodka pesto bagel pizza. It came out fast and hot and one was perfect for a light meal. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful and the bagel crust is perfectly crispy. The staff is warm and friendly and atmosphere is perfect for a quick stop or a nice hang. Cannot recommend it more - I will be coming back frequently!!

Yelp
New and exciting Bagel & Pizza Bagel spot in Midtown founded from the team behind Tacombi. When I heard pizza bagels I didn't know what to expect but in the mornings they are a full service bagel spot and for lunch/casual dinner they are a pizza spot. The dough is made from pizza dough and they come out looking like little bar pies. The crust is thin and crispy and they have some good specialty flavors. Partial to the vodka sauce and pesto myself. For the bagels, they are big and fluffy, house made with a dozen of different cream cheese flavors. Their blueberry bagel was delicious! Partnered with the blueberry cream cheese this was a great morning bite.

Yelp
I was hoping to pick up some bagels mid-day because after work the better bagel shops are closed, but their no bagels to be found. Reason is that they convert from morning food to afternoon lunch offerings and put the bagels away. And I was not going to stand in line to see if they can get me a few bagels from the back storage and the fillings without seeing it first.

Yelp
Stopped in here today when traveling with family. Needed breakfast sandwiches to get us through a day of shopping. The food was awesome. Bagels were soft and warm, bacon was cooked perfectly. Staff was very helpful and friendly. While many breakfast and lunch spots in NYC feel crammed and leave you questioning how fresh their food is - bagizza is open and fresh. Their lunch buffet bar looked amazing. Hope to come back and give it a try some time soon!

Yelp
Great for and friendly staff. I would eat here again! The place was clean and well lit. The curbside appeal definitely draws you in.

Yelp
OK, so we, at the office, have gotten a chance to try their buffet and bagels. The buffet is $16/lb. Not the greatest variety of options as for a steam table/salad bar style offering. Their selections are decent. The bagels. We tried them with cream cheese. One with Smoked salmon and another with nutela. I liked the chewy inner parts but expected crispier outter. I felt their cream cheese was OK. One of my coworkers agreed with me. Another coworker did not care at all for any of their food. Just as on our previous visits, service was attentive and cordial.

Yelp
This bagel shop is fantastic! The staff are amazing and helpful. So many options. The bagels are delicious and a vast selection of spreads. There a plenty of seats and a fun and welcoming environment. A must try place!

Yelp
It's really interesting pizza that I think is worth a try. I had the veggie pizza, which came with a nice variety of veggie toppings, plenty of cheese, and a mild but tasty sauce. The crust is super thin, but still chewy, which is where the bagel fusion part comes in. It's not your standard New York slice, but I loved the novelty of the crust. $16 for a medium pizza is also pretty reasonable - it just about feeds two.

Yelp
It's ok. But it's cheep. Good place to take kids. Can even save some money if you pay cash.

Yelp
I attended their grand opening and the food was great! I really loved the hot honey pepperoni pizza as well as the everything bagel with bacon jalapeño cream cheese. It's kind of set up like a bodega which is really cool. The location is huge and it's super clean. Everyone that works there is super nice.

Yelp
Interesting and excellent. This place has pizza made with a bagel crust. The regular bagels are excellent too

Yelp
The pizza bagels were really good! The buffet had a wide variety of selection which tasted really good as well! Will be a regular here ! Service was awesome and friendly and ambiance was nice

Yelp
Adding cream cheese to a bagel cost an additional $4.00. Most outrageous thing I have ever seen. Cancelled my order and will never return. A bagel with cream cheese only cost $7+ at the airport (i don't buy them there either). Get a grip, Bagizza!

Yelp
Bagel and cream cheese plus a water was $10.50. It's midtown, so I get that, but the bagel was mediocre at best and the preparation was sloppy- I could barely eat it. CC was everywhere on the wrapper and the outside of the bagel. Was hoping this would be good- such a good location for the Metro North 48th St. exit. Back to Starbucks for me...
