It’s a really beautiful place, the room was spacious and comfortable, great robes, bathroom, sitting area. The dining was excellent with very high quality foods and products, great service staff. A generous and delicious breakfast buffet. The Baglio itself boasts hectares of land but the hotel area isn’t very expansive. You can walk around the entire estate quite quickly. We closed the curtains to our room as there were other guests walking right by our window constantly. When we were having our picnic, we were quite close to the parking lot and guests were trotted by on their quick tour of the grounds. However, we were disappointed with the upcharges for a few of the experiences. For example, we did the cooking class to make ravioli and it was fairly expensive at 135€ each. It included one glass of wine offered and then you can “be part of our dinner at 8pm”. However, dinner is €65 per person, drinks not included. We were confused by the option to “join for dinner”. Usually, with a cooking class you can eat what you make. In the case of Baglio, we paid for dinner and were served as part of this the ravioli we had made in the cooking class, as one of the courses. For folks not part of the cooking class having dinner, they got another course served for the same cost. So essentially we paid to make the food, and then we paid again to eat it. It was strange. The second experience we opted for and regretted, was the picnic. This was advertised as a picnic either in the vineyard or the orange grove. For 100€ they laid out a blanket and multitude of pillows. The hostess arrived with a traditional picnic basket, but instead of picnic food inside, there were plates and menus. We were to order from the regular lunch menu and pay for lunch in addition to the picnic fee. That was the picnic. So, instead of dining at a table in the dining room, we were paying extra to eat the same food on a blanket, in a bit more uncomfortable format. It was weird. It might have been the time of year but the place was inundated with flies that would not leave us alone. It made eating outside difficult, and we also weren’t able to sit by the pool for more than 15 minutes as they were very bothersome. All in all, a very nice place, but they need to work on their idea of luxury and elegance.

After reading the beautiful descriptions on Baglio Occhipinti’s website and seeing the glowing reviews, we chose it as our agriturismo stay for this trip. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Perhaps visiting in the off-season (October) with some rain played a role in this, but the property didn’t match the image portrayed online. The website suggests a family farm with a strong garden-to-table ethos, filled with lush green spaces, herb gardens, and a variety of fruit and vegetable plots for guests to explore. In reality, the garden was much smaller and less inviting. We never found the fruit garden (property tour only extended to the indoor area), though there were a few orange and pomegranate trees near the pool. The vegetable garden was sparse, with only a few plants, and the herb garden was rather poorly maintained that at first, we weren’t sure if it was a garden or an abandoned patch of plants. The indoor space was more underwhelming. The common area was cramped, with only two couches in the living room to relax on. Breakfast was served in this space, with some tables awkwardly placed in a narrow corridor leading to the reception. Even when the weather was nice, breakfast was not served outdoors. Dinner was served in a separate building and offered a 6-course set menu for 65€. While we appreciated the option to select fewer courses, the pricing was disappointing—23€ for a basic spaghetti with garlic and oil, and the three courses we chose came to 60€, without any standout flavors or presentation to justify the cost. Our room, priced at 440€ per night, had a persistent unpleasant musty smell of the toilet. The building was poorly sound-insulated- we could clearly hear conversations from neighboring rooms. On one night, heavy rain not only kept us awake due to noise, but also leaked through the window into the room. While the kittens on the property were certainly cute, they roamed freely—even in the kitchen—which raised concerns about food hygiene. A heads-up on the website would have been helpful, especially for guests with allergies to cats. Overall, Baglio Occhipinti feels like a place trying to be more than it is, yet already charging premium prices for the experience it aims to offer but doesn’t fully deliver.

Wow, where to start. It's hard to describe just how perfect our stay at Baglio Occhipinti. It was the most perfect few days immersed in the peace of the Vittoria countryside. The hospitality from all staff was exceptional, and in particular we would like to thank Viviana, Federico, and Elisa for being the most wonderful hosts. We enjoyed the cooking class, massages, winery tour, lounging by the pool and amazing meals. It was a real treat and we can't wait to visit again one day.

The entire staff is very welcoming. The location is peaceful and the food was prepared fresh day of. You can’t beat this for a quiet, romantic getaway. The pool is a nice temperature to cool down during a warm Sicilian day.

Wow, if you’re looking for a place to recharge this is it. I have to call out the staff, especially Viviana, Rebecca and Alberto (most contact with) but EVERYONE makes you feel right at home and taken care of. Now the space, the rooms are beautifully rustic and all nestled together somewhat but each with their own charm. It’s really like an Italian B&B where you probably talk to other guests if you’re waiting for meals, which are FABULOUS. Dinners are pricey but everything for the most part is homegrown so schedule one at least. The grounds are stunning; the air really smells different, if I could’ve bottled it, I would’ve. If you’re looking for something close to a big town or beach, not great, a good 30min drive to kind of either. But this place has it all for relaxation and recharge and drives through southern Sicily. Wine tour is highly recommended! Also, for anyone gluten free, they are SO accommodating! Gf bread and pasta available and would cater meals for allergy needs.

This is a beautiful place to relax. The food is delicious, the gardens are aromatic, and the staff could not be any more helpful. The rooms are a mixture of old and new, with limestone walls and modern bath fixtures. So many little touches like fresh flowers and oranges in the rooms, an abundant breakfast, and the proximity to some fine vineyards make this a perfect place to get away.

Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is. Everything was perfect, the landscape, the amenities, the rooms, food and wine. Is truly like being in a fairytale.

I can't say enough wonderful things about my stay at Baglio Occhipinti. From the start, I felt so welcome and at home- greeted by Fausta, the amazing owner, with a glass of fresh almond milk we took a tour of the property, meeting the staff as we went along. My room was cozy (perfect for one person), in the main house and had all the comforts of home, including a very nice bed and high quality toiletries. Breakfasts were absolutely superb with a wide variety of options for every sort of eater. I loved having them outside in the courtyard every morning. I spent my entire time by the pool, as this was in between work meetings and all I wanted was a place to relax and was not dissappointed- there was always someone not too far away who could bring you water, wine or lunch (in my case, a bright and fresh salad with assorted greens, olives, tomatoes and tuna). Dinner here is the star- 6 courses and all of them simply magnificent, creative, highlighting the local and seasonal produce. It was so tasty the first night, I didn't see a reason to go anywhere else the second night! Thank you, Baglio Occhipinti for the amazing two days and for making me feel so at home but mainly for being the ultimate relaxation experience. I cannot wait to return! Grazie mille.
