The restaurant features counter-service fried chicken and a slim breakfast menu. Gillian Clark, known for her appearances on Food Network and past controversy in D.C., aims to create a relaxed vibe with a focus on quality sourcing for ingredients." - Stefanie Tuder

Delicious & Affordable!! Food 5/5 Best fried chicken for that price! Freshly fried crispy tender juicy chicken. Must try if you’re in the area, or make a trip there! Its worth your while. Nearly 30+ selection of hot sauce for you to experiment with too! And for a person that hates doughnuts, I was going to give them to my bf but ended up eating one of them and I actually enjoyed them! Service 5/5 So friendly and helpful! Everyone was wearing a mask and following covid protocols. Payments are done online via venmo etc. I think she may have been the owner but she keeps checking in and made sure everything was okay. Was a very pleasant tea time snack for me! Ambiance 5/5 I like it even though it’s really simple. 2 tables outside the store but on a terrace so you’re away from pedestrians. I think indoor dining is also available but i opted to sit outside. The toilet was cute with pictures of chickens

Great fried chicken. Shared a 1/2 chicken with my colleague. Lovely crust, and even the breast was juicy (and I usually avoid white meat like the plague). Hot sauce was a welcome addition as the meat probably could have used a bit more seasoning. Excellent grits as well (also not usually much of a grits guy). Country tunes were playing on the speaker system, which was awesome (also not usually a country fan).

This place is around the block from me and is the perfect cure for a cold day or a weekend hangover. Their donuts are the good kind to dunk coffee into. Their fried chicken and Mac and cheese is great but what makes this place special is their bowls. It’s like if the kfc famous bowl used good ingredients and was made with love and care. They have this fried chicken bowl they have in the morning that is on the next level eggs, bacon, hollandaise sauce, hash browns and chicken tender mmmmm perfection!! Pro-tip Winsome bakery is right next door so if the lines too long or you are drunk and hungry at duck duck go there and and get a bowl

The chicken donut was amazing as it was well cooked and the donut was just right. Nice balance of sweet and savory.

Came in right before they closed, got in and out pretty quickly. Small no frills place pumping out some amazing chicken. Was excited to see this was opening up nearby and just satisfied my fried chicken craving. The grits are delicious and a great base to mix things with! Cornbread is buttery but not too sweet. Overall can’t wait to tackle the whole menu

This has the style of fried chicken that I like: the batter comes out dry, crunchy, and crumbly, and the chicken remains moist and juicy. Two of us were filled by the half-chicken, the collard greens (with pork), and mashed potatoes topped with gravy. All hits with a strong umami flavor but I'd say on the salty side. Donut has good flavor, not too sweet, texture is tight perhaps the dough was under proven. Not a deal breaker. The location has a large range of hot sauces available. All this considered, winner, winner, a solid fried chicken dinner.

We didn’t know how to say the name but we were pleasantly surprised! The food was really delicious! The big pieces of chicken were breaded and seasoned well. The donuts were warm and tasty, and I enjoyed the collard greens and mac and cheese. They only take cash, but I will definitely be a regular!!!

Google
Top notch fried chicken. Donut price is a touch steep but it's has a texture that's hard to come by in NYC; you bite through a delightfully crunchy exterior to reveal soft insides, kind of mirroring the chicken! Service was offered up with a smile. Like many places in the area, cash is king. I noticed a shelf of various hot sauces, if that's your kinda thing. I'd come back for the hunks and holes and dip it in my own stash of Mike's Hot Honey.
