Great customer service. The young lady at the counter was informative and personable. The other employees were friendly as well. Ordered an iced latte with almond milk and brown sugar cinnamon syrup. It was tasty. Second State coffee is used. Syrups are made in-house. Also ordered the BEC (bacon, egg, & cheese) on a baguette. Unfortunately, there was a hair in it so I had to drive back and get a new one. Cashier was apologetic, but they lose stars for that. Home fries are chunks of potatoes that are fried very nicely. I’d get those again. They sell various local items, such as teas, jerky, meats, & grits. There are some grab and go things in a freezer — pasta & sauce, take-and-bake biscuits, pasta, & pies, gluten-free bread & buns, and more. Plenty of indoor seating.

Google
I love Baguette Magic! It's a great breakfast/brunch spot with friendly staff and delicious food. I always get the avocado toast or the BEC on a croissant. It's a great local business that I recommend to everyone!

Google
Its a neat place with welcoming staff and delicious food. The menu is simple and filling. My cup of Joe was strong and flavorful. Clean. Quick. Tasty. Reasonably priced. Offers premade frozen dinners. And even community engaging. What not to love, if you like baguettes, of course.

Google
I highly recommend Baguette Magic! I stopped by for a my favorite almond croissant while on the way to the beach today! I ordered the turkey sandwich and it was amazing!!! The flavors explode with each bite! The staff was helpful and the service was prompt! There are lots of items to take home too!! Turkey sandwich, almond croissant!! Win- win!!

Great food. Friendly staff. Big portions.

Google
We recently visited Baguette Magic for breakfast and tried a few dishes: the Chef’s Hash, the Bep Sandwich on a croissant, and the Avocado Toast. The standout was definitely the Bep Sandwich on the croissant—absolutely to die for! The croissant was perfectly flaky, and the combination of flavors was spot on. It’s a must-try if you visit. The Avocado Toast came in second. It was super fresh and well-seasoned, with the avocado spread just right. The radish was a great touch. The Chef’s Hash was our least favorite. While it was decent, it didn’t quite stand out compared to the other two dishes. Overall, Baguette Magic offers a solid breakfast, and the Bep Sandwich stealing the show.

Was driving by and just wanted to grab a cup of coffee. Just got a large drip coffee with a shot of vanilla. The coffee was very good and the girl behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. Great customer service. Plan to come back sometime to try their food

Google
Baguette Magic, aka as Magical Baguette, by my local friends, showing me around James Island - is really fantastic bakery right at Folly Beach, South Carolina. Everything is freshly baked and tastes incredible! We got several pastries because we couldn't decide and so we could try a bite of all of them! We absolutely loved them! All were very tasty and delicious. Baguette Magic has a great atmosphere and friendly staff, I will definitely go back again! Thanks for everything!

Yelp
Tried the brown sugar poptart, strawberry poptart, and chocolate croissant. All 3 were amazing!!!! I ordered online and picked up in person. The staff was friendly and I can't wait to go back and try more pastries!

Yelp
Baguette Magic is Magic. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston and definitely our go to. We've never had a bad experience and the food and service is always excellent. The BEP on a croissant is a little lighter than the recovery baguette, but the flavors and textures are amazing together. You definitely can't go wrong with the French toast either.

Yelp
Awesome staff and space. Easy in and out parking. Perfect morning spot! Delicious offerings a bit pricey but well worth it

Yelp
Known for their decadent pastries, breakfast sandwiches ,and coffee this was a great pit stop on the way out from our weekend visit for the Cooper River Bridge Run. A great variety of coffee selections from cold brew , lattes, and specialty drinks like honey lavender. Pimento cheese grits and croissant option with bacon , egg , cheese or many made to order as well. Small dining area was clean and staff was pleasant. Well worth giving it a try when you are in town. My group and I enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
I was quite baffled when this place had no baguettes actually for sale. Stranger still, some were set aside to make various breakfast sandwiches that I didn't want, but I couldn't simply buy a baguette to take with me. Moreover, they were already out of most of their best baked goods, and I stopped in at 9:30 or so (25% of the way through an 8-2 day). So the quality might not be there, but acquiring the items is a challenge. The croissant I settled on delivered a robust flavor with plenty of almond paste, and it was fine for what it was. Unlike the other nearby Baguette Magic location, this one had a decent amount of seating and was a place you could actually hang around at.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for awhile after seeing their pictures of cruffins and I finally had the chance! The service was fast and friendly. I went around 11 and there were only a few pastries left. I ordered an almond croissant and an almond chocolate croissant to go. Both were delicious! For coffee I ordered the maple rose latte and had the B.E.P. sandwich! The sandwich was so good! I really loved the eggs on the b.e.p. I was expected breakfast potatoes but it turned out to be chips. It was a little disappointing but it tasted really good altogether. This sandwich was delicious! My friend got the red velvet latte and she said it was super tasty! I will definitely be back to try more items!

Yelp
BEC on a croissant was delicious. So was my iced mocha. Will definitely head here again when in town. Super nice staff. Lots of seating.

Yelp
I happened to drive by here with my mom when we had just arrived in town for vacation. She loves French Bakeries so I knew we had to turn around and stop in. She got a croissant and was in heaven. J was happy to get a baguette and specialty latte with non-dairy milk. We also ordered some home fries for my son, which were out of this world good! If u had been hungrier, I definitely would have enjoyed ordering something more substantial! Overall, great find and I would highly recommend coming in!!

Yelp
Yum! I entered from the wrong side, which was annoying to walk near the street around to an entrance. They had a line, but service was quick. I ordered an almond croissant. It was huge and well designed. It was also so so so so good. Very flaky and sweet. I liked that it had cherry notes to the almond and a perfect texture to the filling. Their menu had so many options. I am looking forward to going back to try more.

Yelp
So glad we finally made it here! Perfect for after a morning walk on Folly Beach. We sat outside with our pup which was perfect. The BEC baguette was great. The sausage Sammy on croissant was so different and yummy. The staff were kind and helpful, we'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible. I got the bacon egg and cheese on croissant that Sakai has onions and potatoes on it and it was so good, but what was even better was the s'mores poptart. WOW. 10/10. I will say, I got the s'mores latte and it wasn't very good:( but food was great!!

Yelp
What a great spot on James Island! I've driven past this place so many times and had no idea how big it was inside until finally stopping for a quick coffee with a friend a couple of weeks ago! I ended up going back today for coffee/breakfast with my laptop and iPad to get some work done and I'm so happy I did. The food is soooo yummy (I had a grit bowl today, but have also had some of the to go croissants when someone brought them to my house) and I love the coffee drinks! I'm a sucker for the lavender honey latte. A great spot to get some work done, meet a friend for a coffee, or even pick up reallllly inexpensive to go options!

Yelp
The food was amazing! My mom walked in, planning to hate everything there. She walked out raving about the French toast. The bread was to die for! They were very busy, and the service was slow and rushed, but they were always polite. In the 40 minutes we were there, I never saw someone clean a table, and a lot of them needed wiped down. You could tell they kept things very clean, though, so it was not a huge deal. There is an outdoor patio where you can bring your dog. The iced latte was so smooth and delicious! I will be going back.

Yelp
True to its name! This place is magic. Amazing pastries, great service and just such kind messages spread throughout this establishment. One of my favorite spots throughout our time in Charleston! Get the strawberry pop tart you won't regret it :)

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places on James Island. The service is quick and the folks that work here are great. I typically take my orders to go, but the interior redesign looks great and they have outdoor seating as well. Highly recommend eating in! My favorite sandwich is the recovery baguette. It's really large for the price and all the ingredients are incredible. A top 5 breakfast sandwich for me of all time! I also love the pastries here, especially when they do fun pop tarts.

Yelp
We Decided to stop here on the way to the beach on Saturday morning. I Was really looking forward to trying baguette magic because I had heard a lot about it and their social media really projects a lot of the fat fresh pastries sandwiches and other goodies. Once got there, there was a line to order, but it moved pretty quickly and was able to place my order to go. I did ask for a couple different requests of my sandwich so I knew it might take a little bit longer. after waiting about 25 minutes, ended up going up the counter and realized I was never giving a buzzer for my sandwiches. Come to find out that the sandwiches were given to another customer and so they had to remake them upset about it because I wasn't in a rush, but I could tell there was a lot of tension behind the counter and that made me feel very uncomfortable. For my sandwich I had ordered the turkey bacon Swiss on sourdough. I asked for no bacon, but double turkey and put the aïoli sauce on the side. I was not getting double turkey and I never received the sauce on the side and I'm not sure if that's just because of what was going on behind the counter, but I was really underwhelmed by the sandwich. I honestly am not sure if I would go back just because the environment just rubbed me the wrong way and I really wasn't impressed with the sandwich itself.

Yelp
Oh my Lordy lord! It may be Halloween but there were no tricks, just treats at Baguette Magic. I was recommended this joint by my dear coworker who does nothing but gush about the breakfast sandwiches so I HAD to see what was up. I came here on a somber Sunday with my very bestiest friend after a night of wandering around in search of a Halloween function that would not be shut down. We were warmly greeted even though we look like brutes with makeup smeared on our faces. Anywayzzz we got breakfast sammies and coffee. I got the BEC on a baguette and my gopher girl got the BEP on a croissant. When we sat down they were playing Jeff Buckley so I knew things were about to get real. I was about to have an emotional experience. At first I was regretting my baguette choice because her croissant looked so scrummy but noooo. No no no I made the correct choice. Simplicity. Buttery. Savory. I love. I need. I crave. We just danced and sang and munched and gabbed and danced.

Yelp
The best breakfast sandwich in Charleston. The aioli takes it over the top. You need to visit !!

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday after a work out class right around noon and they were poppin! I love the variety of their menu and went with the caprese sandwich but changed my bread to sourdough as I've been craving it lately. Now, I know there was a ton of people there so I was prepared to wait the second I walked in the door, but what I wasn't prepared for was the shortage of arugula on my sandwich...completely. Probably one of the big draws of me to a sandwich without meat, being a meat eater was literally every single part of the sandwich as it is so well thought out. Will this deter me from coming back? Probably not. But you can definitely bet I will be opening my box 100% of the time before leaving to make sure my $14+ sandwich has every darn thing on it.

Yelp
A delightful breakfast and lunch cafe - on your way to the beach kind of place - which will promise to jump start" your beach day for sure! Between the freshly brewed coffee, breakfast plates, sandwiches and bakery items ~ Baguette Magic will definitely delight even the pickiest breakfast enthusiasts! The cafe' is housed in a generously sized space on Folly Road with indoor and outdoor seating (good thing for weekend overflows) and includes some counter seating and community tables as well. Walk up to place your order but while waiting in line don't forget to glance into BM's display case as the pastry choices will be hard to resist! I ordered the Two Egg plate with fruit and a side of home fries. Make sure to tack on a side of home fries! In trying to keep things a little on the healthier side I was pleased to see the generously sized fruit serving that accompanied the egg plate. The fruit was freshly created and not overripe! Already anticipating my next visit ~ I will try the Half Brioche French Toast with Berries! Need I say more? 5 stars!!

Yelp
We are grateful for the amazing & unique breakfast sandwiches ... wow! We also take advantage of the frozen dinners that are available in the back. These are great and help when we're out of ideas (& energy) to make a good tasting dinner!

Erin N.

Yelp
What a way to start a beach morning- croissants, homemade pop tarts, eggs with the deepest yellow yolks, and a sourdough Twinkie. WOW!! We had trouble deciding what to order but glad we all ordered one thing different and ate off each others plates. EOC on a croissant, brioche French toast, and Brie-covery on a baguette

Yelp
We came here for a lunch date and it was absolutely amazing! We had the log cabin latte and WOW it was amazing. We also both got the recovery baguette and it really hit the spot. The service was very excellent and friendly. Can't wait to come back and have another log cabin latte!

Yelp
For the month of November I read food themed books. For one of my books, I decided to visit Baguette Magic (because the book is Life from Scratch with rolling pins on the cover so I wanted to go to a bakery). The atmosphere here was lovely. The food was fantastic as was the coffee. I had a vanilla latte and my husband had a mocha. He is VERY picky about his mochas. There is one local place that makes his favorite and everywhere else just doesn't compare for him....until we came here. He loved it. I also very much enjoyed my vanilla latte. We each ordered a croissant and they were perfectly flaky and delicious. We also split a strawberry pop tart and it was perfection. We even took one home for our kid and she loved it. I took home some sourdough bread and enjoyed it. My only complaint is it's so far! We live in Summerville and it's a 40+ minute drive for us I'd love to visit again, maybe for lunch next time!

Yelp
Baguette Magic truly lives up to its name, creating a delightful culinary experience with every visit. Their fresh, handcrafted baguettes form the foundation of an exquisite menu, featuring sandwiches, pastries, and more, each bursting with flavor and creativity. The cozy, inviting atmosphere adds to the charm, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast or lunch. The care and passion behind each dish are evident, ensuring that Baguette Magic remains a beloved destination for those seeking a taste of magic. I highly recommend a BEC on a croissant as well as the Vietnamese cold brew

Yelp
It's been months and months and the coffee program is still terrible, which would be fine if they weren't making claims otherwise. $30 for a cup of coffee and breakfast bowl Cortado served under extracted and with 8-10 ounces of very wet steamed milk. But don't fret, it had latte art ‍ Most notably is their pastry. Least notably is the coffee and break the bank prices.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the food and the experience! My kids loved watching the employee make pastries through the windows. Such a cute place.

Marcus R.

Yelp
Exceptionally cool menu options - friendly and helpful staff The perfect place for breakfast on the way home from Folly

Yelp
Update! If you like taro tea, you'll like their halo-halo drink! It's so yummy and a pretty purple. Other than that, still love this place!
google avatar

Frank G.

Yelp
Ok, new owners since I was here last time. Still, order, pay, sit, they bring to you. Very fresh food and plenty of it. Egg sandwiches tasty, many many options. My only peeve is that the music is very loud, although it's oldies, so I can put up with it. Good place to go, so go. Frank G

Yelp
Went here for lunch on a Sunday. It was busy but the line moved quick. I ordered an Italian sandwich and a bag of chips. The Italian was one my favorite Italian sandwiches I have ever had. The baguette was perfectly cooked and the sandwich had great flavor. 10/10 recommend if you are craving a quality Italian sandwich.
google avatar

Alana D.

Yelp
Since I first posted this review I have been back to baguette magic many times! I am always impressed by the baked goods especially the cruffins and almond chocolate croissants. The breakfast sandwiches are also excellent of which the recovery is my favorite! Sometimes the line can be long so a good tip is putting in your order on line so that you can efficiently pick up your delicious breakfast!
google avatar

Sadie F.

Yelp
Baguette Magic is a go to for breakfast and brunch. You can't go wrong with anything. The BEP on a croissant is my all time favorite with the seasonal salad and a coffee. Everything is very fresh and excellent quality. The staff are always kind and helpful. I occasionally come in for a pop tart or coffee cake which never disappoint.
google avatar

Haley H.

Yelp
The location of Folly Road never disappoints. I'm obsessed with their croissants and they do a great job accommodating my allergies. They give excellent service, the girl at the register is always patient and helpful. The kitchen is always busy and efficient and everyone in between always has a smile. Thank you for being my Friday cheat treat!
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
It was great. I have had several of the pop tarts to go in the past and they are lovely. We were on our way back from the beach and I had a hankering for a pop tart and wanted my wife to have the experience as well. She sadly had never had one but now she can't say that. We got there, got in a pretty short line and was served within minutes and were on our way. Got home and indulged ourselves. Yum!
google avatar

Grace P.

Yelp
Going to Baguette Magic is my favorite weekend activity! I love their lattes, and the homemade poptarts are a great deal for only $4. The coffee cake is also fantastic! Hot sandwiches are always a go to as well. Expect to wait in line though, as this place gets pretty crowded.
google avatar

Nate B.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to get breakfast, very consistent and always good. Briecovery baguette is my favorite.
google avatar

Lori J.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast sandwiches just a lot of bread for me that early, but it's in the name. Had to buy my now boyfriend breakfast the morning after our second date since he didn't have a mask to enter (summer 2020) which is a fun story to have I suppose
google avatar

Yelp
Found Baguette Magic on my search for a good croissant in the area. I didn't find a good croissant, I found a great one! This place was great and I was saddened by the fact we didn't get to have it more than once (closed Mondays). Fresh, buttery, flavorful croissants that are reasonably priced. The ham and cheese croissant was also delicious. All paired with friendly service. I loved this place and I would recommend for a nice and quick breakfast option that won't break the bank. ENJOY!!!
google avatar

Shari V.

Yelp
So cute! This has been in my list of places to try and finally I got over to James Island to this authentic gem. Service: I was greeted immediately and seated myself at the counter. The owner and her staff were very welcoming and attentive. Food: I ordered the egg sandwich on a croissant with onions and peppers with a side of fresh fruit. The croissant was flaky and buttery and even with the vegetables added to the eggs it didn't weigh it down, nor was it greasy. The fruit was presented well, some of the melon was a little mushy but good overall. Overall great experience, definitely worth the drive!
google avatar

Thomas B.

Yelp
Great place. Lavender blueberry slushee is the best. Also the Italian sub is a really epic sandwich.

Ruth S.

Yelp
Baquette Magic is a quaint breakfast restaraunt with an excellent selection on the menu board, located on James Island. The relaxed family atmosphere was just perfect for our brunch while on vacation and the food was fresh and mouth watering delicious. I had the pimento grits and husband had the avocado on toast. The only reason I gave it a four star was because the parking lot is a little tight....scary turning in and leaving onto Folly Road but can't wait to go back and try other dishes. Great restaraunt and friendly staff.
google avatar

Hilton C.

Yelp
Lunchroom ambiance and lighting. I ordered two Danish for pick up at 8:10 am the following day. Both Danish were stale. That's all I have to say.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BAKERY. I love Baguette Magic with my entire being. I have the hardest time making a decision on what to order every time I'm there. I usually convince whoever I am with to split a sweet treat with me in addition to a breakfast sandwich. The cruffins (croissant/muffin) are a too favorite of mine - they have rotating flavors weekly and I've loved each one better than the last. My go to breakfast sandwich is the Recovery Baguette, because anything with prosciutto is always a win. They do get super busy on the weekends, so consider ordering ahead! This is all from the James Island location, but they recently opened downtown as well

Yelp
Very very good and tasty. I will come back nice service sweet people. Great environment.

Yelp
Well, I can't say anything about the food as we didn't end up staying. The customer service in this place is down right appalling, bordering on hostile. It was my husband's birthday and we were going to shoot pool at The Break next door to this but they weren't open yet so we popped in here for a quick bite. I'm gluten free so I asked if they could put everything on the sandwich just on the plate and skip the bread. The girl ringing us up was very sweet but the manager was standing behind her with her hands on her hips and said, "no, I can't do that". I was like, "I'll pay the same price. You can't just NOT put it on bread....?" and she was like "no, I can't". Then someone else in our party asked for his sandwich to just exclude the egg. And she insisted she couldn't do that either. At this point our bill was like $75. She was like, "well, we are closing in 5 minutes". Ohhhh... you just didn't want to work 3 minutes past your shift... now I see. They just lost a pretty nice sale and any future sales from us. We didn't know that they were closing or we wouldn't have come in and she could have said, "I'm sorry, we're closing soon so the kitchen is closed" or something. Or lock the doors 15 minutes prior to closing if you don't want the business. If this was my employee I would have been shocked and she would have been fired. Is customer service just dead in this country? (On a side note, we walked over to Fast Break and they were verrry nice, had great food and the place was immaculate).

Yelp
Baguette Magic is truly magic. Their croissants are especially incredible but I've never been disappointed by anything here. Standard go to is the BEC sandwich on a croissant- egg, cheese, bacon, and garlic aioli and I always upgrade to it on a croissant (standard is a baguette, I believe). They have fun and delicious pastries- homemade pop tarts, tomato pie, and chocolate croissants being some of our favs. Coffee is great, which is always a plus for a bakery. The inside has spacious seating so there's plenty of room if you want to hang out and eat or take your food to go. Heard they just opened another location downtown! We adore this spot on JI and hope they never leave us!

Yelp
Very authentic French bakery with fresh ingredients and warm southern hospitality! I'm never starving at breakfast time but I know my body needs something light yet sustainable to get me going for a few hours. I was overly satisfied with my croissant sandwich here! In fact, I had ordered it to go because the environment wasn't totally my style and I wanted to eat on the beach, but when it arrived it smelled so enticing I told myself "I'll eat half right now and save the rest for the beach." That didn't happen.. it was gone in minutes! I ordered the turkey and brie croissant sandwich but switched out one common menu ingredient for arugula. It was the perfect mix of textures and flavors! The croissant was, of course, the best part. So warm, flaky and almost melt in my mouth. I was a little hesitant to spend $7 on a little croissant breakfast but after liking my fingers clean realized it was well worth the price. They don't serve espresso drinks here just black house coffee, which I was a little bummed about because whenever I think of an authentic French breakfast I think pastries and espresso but maybe in their future?! There's plenty of parking and seating for family size groups. A somewhat minimal menu but filled with great options. Give it a shot, at least for a pastry on the go!
