The Bahama Breeze is a well established and wonderfully revered restaurant that offers delicious Caribbean inspired entrees in a lively island atmosphere with its playing of West Indies music and its display of tropical interior settings. The restaurant is owned by Darden Restaurants. In March of 2025, I brought and treated my wife and myself for dinner at the Bahama Breeze, specifically the branch based in Wayne, New Jersey to celebrate our Happy Honeymoon Anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience!!! The restaurant’s staff were very gracious and welcoming, and quickly provided us with a very comfortable dining table up on our arrival. Our server, Adriana C was very courteous, professional, and amazingly attentive!!! She did a fabulous job on addressing our inquiries regarding the menu, provided great descriptions on the meals we were looking to order, and perfectly noted our meal selections. We’d love to thank Adriana C for her great service, and indicate that Bahama Breeze is blessed to have her on their team. In addition to the great service, my wife and I absolutely loved our meals. My wife ordered and enjoyed her firecracker shrimp appetizer, and her Tequila Sunburn Salmon and sweet mashed potato entree. I ordered and enjoyed my salad based appetizer, and my Baby Back Ribs and french fries entree. We both found our meals to be perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned and fabulously tasty and delicious!!! We also found our pina colada’s to be superbly well-made!!! My wife and I would love to thank the Bahama Breeze for providing us with a magnificent dining experience and highly recommended for everyone to visit and dine at this outstanding restaurant!!!

Great get-together spot. Calming, relaxing atmosphere. The experience was not too pricey.

Google
Decent food. Great service. The dragonfruit margarita was very good. The meat was tender. No one complained. A decent place for a family meal. The paella was the only thing that didn’t taste as great compared to local restaurants.

Food and service was good. Clean restaurant. Would recommend and decent prices.

I went to celebrate my son's 29th birthday at Bahama Breeze and also my step daughter's birthday too. Our family had a wonderful time here. We enjoyed delicious appetizers, food and chocolate mousse cake. We would definitely go back here. Our food server Artan gave us excelent service too.

Google
Love this restaurant. It brings a great Caribbean vibe. The beef empanadas are hands down the best. Try to make happy hour. All the appetizers are half off. Try them all, trust me. Everything on the menu is a winner.

Google
The most sweet pina colada ever tasted, luckily I didn't drink it, other wise it may turned myself into diabetic, Jerk chicken pasta 😢, and on top of that by mistake I pressed game button in the Tablet menu that they have to each costumer in order to see the menu and guess what, they did charge me 2.99 🤣🤣. That's insane. I wonder how many clients have being daily charged with the same strategy 🤔.

Google
The servers are the heart of the restaurant. They are very pleasant and accommodating. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were good also, but the food could have used a little more flavor.

Yelp
Came to Bahama Breeze, in order to meet up with a friend that I haven't seen for 40 years. We dined at the bar and our server/bartender, Matthew, did a fantastic job throughout the entire meal. My Cocorita (Sauza Silver Tequila, cream of coconut, pineapple and lime juices, and actual delicious pieces of coconut) was AMAZING. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this drink, it was served in a HUGE glass and it hit the spot. We had Bean & Guac Tacos and the Jerk Chicken Pasta. Both entrees were delicious, flavorful, and filling. This was my first time sitting at Bahama Breeze's bar and I recommend doing the same. Especially, during Happy Hours (Monday-Friday: 4:00PM to 6:00PM and Sunday-Thursday: 9:00PM to 11:00PM).

Yelp
I came to this restaurant with another adult and two kids, and it was very accommodating in providing us a booth for the children. Our waiter was kind and patient. There were so many options to choose from of different Caribbean dishes (primarily Jamaican). I loved seeing a chain restaurant with Jamaican food and other popular Caribbean dishes. I ordered the Jamaican stuffed rice bowl with orange juice, which was super super delicious and flavorful with cilantro on top. I highly recommend ordering it . The cocktail list is super expensive. I look forward to coming back with friends for happy hour or a cocktail night. Please keep in mind that the games on the electronic menu have a fee that will be added onto your receipt. The ambience is family, friendly, and island themed

Yelp
I will say we had two servers one was showing the other how's to become a server and they were both very great. They were up beat and thought we knew what we wanted to order they definitely were able to convince me and my boyfriend to get the pepper shrimp appetizer . That tasted way better than the three cheese crab app we decided to get. The three cheese crab was still good but their recommendation was in fact better. The place is really nice the food is really good and i love how it is an infusion of all the Caribbean places. I've been here before and is where i got my favorite drink that I order literally everyday "Bahama mama" i decided to show my boyfriend this place and he absolutely loved it.

Yelp
Writing a review for this restaurant after many months, doesn't mean I haven't been here... it is one of those restaurants where we both agree in a moment (and don't discuss for 40 minutes on where to go?) I normally come here for its half-price appetizers on weekdays... and this is the sum of those numerous visits... Some of my favorite items are * Firecracker Shrimp - crispy fried shrimp and love the sauce that comes with it * Skillet-Simmered Jerk Shrimp - Large shrimp, garlic-thyme butter, served with warm Cuban bread. I love dipping bread in the gravy that comes with it * Crispy Conch Fritters (its new addition)- Six fritters filled with conch, corn, and bell peppers with pineapple-mango salsa and island tartar sauce for dipping. * Jamaican Jerk Wings- Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside wings, served with Jerk BBQ sauce Drink- I always go for Draft Blue Moon and my wife goes for Mojito or Bahama Rita The crab cake was there earlier in half-price appetizer section but I have seen their menu changing multiple times- (coming here since 2015) The ambiance is always a classy, tropical feel. Service is great and the food is awesome (Despite being a chain restaurant)

Yelp
This is a review of the Bahama Breeze Happy Hour. Their Happy Hour runs from 4-6pm Mon-Fri and Sunday-Thursday from 9-11pm. This is a mind escape, as well as a restaurant. Colorful Bahama ambiance both outside and inside, half-price appetizers, 14 oz. draft beers $3, and their signature Bahama Mama tropical drink.$5. The Bahama Mama is made with coconut rum, banana liqueur, and pineapple & orange juice. They offer firecracker shrimp, coconut shrimp, crab with a 3 cheese dip, beef empanada's and crispy fritters to name some other appetizers offered at half-price. Half price drinks during Happy Hour include: Bahamaritas, Ultimate Pina Colada, Mojito Cubano and Pineapple Coconut Martinis. All these drinks are $5. Their Happy Hour can turn a bad day at the office around.

Yelp
My favorite chain restaurant. I love the yuca cheese sticks & pineapple chicken. My boyfriend recently tried the jerk pasta and it was great. It inspired me to make my own at home. I never have leftovers sadly, we always eat everything!

Yelp
If your looking for a nice place to eat that has reasonable prices. This is it!!! Food is delicious everytime I come here. The bartender and all the staff are very nice. They treat you like your a regular even on your first visit. It's fantastic. I can't talk about it enough. This will definitely be a regular place for me for friend and family dining!!!

Yelp
Stopped by after some Christmas exchanges/returns and it was a good experience! Service was good, food was delicious, the place was spacious. I had the beef empanadas for an appetizer, which were very flavorful with a great dipping sauce. The grilled chicken with cilantro crema as my main was very, very flavorful. Loved that it came with plantain chips!

Yelp
We came here with intent to go somewhere else but glad we went because it was happy hour!!!! And our server Vinny reminded us about happy hour and went above and beyond. He was so amazing that this experience makes me want to come back sooner than later. I appreciate his attention to detail, keeping the table clean and glasses full. So nice to go out to eat and the server is happy to come to work and help you. Spoke to the Gen. Manger Tyler who was there and shared this compliment with him since I usually have a complaint lol but not this time. The food was hot and veryyy good. The drinks weren't weak. Had ultimate pineapple and guy had lemonade and both were soooo good. Thanks again.

Yelp
Its a rainy Saturday, and the hungry diners enter this rather dark Bahamian eatery, mouths watering for Caribbean style food. Long story short, they were delighted. The Bahamian Seafood Chowder was delicious, velvety smooth, with nice pieces of seafood. The beef empanadas were a crisp, golden brown and packed with cumin spiced beef. The conch fritters were delicious, but with little to none of the eponymous mollusk. The paella was terrific, albeit overly generous. Note to self: SHARE. Their taco-type salad did not disappoint. It was expectedly noisy, always a negative with me. The drinks were very good, but the bartender said they couldn't make a Negroni (gin, Campari and sweet vermouth). The server? Terrific! Friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Good job. So five stars, minus noise and bar equals four stars.

Yelp
Visited again recently and the food tasted even better. It's always best to make a reservation, there's ample parking and the mall is conveniently right across the way!
google avatar

Rosibel S.

Yelp
Went back for happy hour and wasn't disappointed. Of course I Had to have the beef empanadas, yuca wheeze sticks , coconut shrimp, skillet simmered jerk shrimp again because they never disappoint . Also ,tried the firecracker shrimp , crab & three cheese dip and conch fritters but only the firecracker shrimp was good in my opinion. Wouldn't order the other two again but glad I tried it. The service was great again. No complaints. Definitely my new to go place .

Yelp
We went for a quick lunch, we sat outside on a Saturday weather was great and perfect to sit outside. My server was attentive. The food was very good only downfall not getting to try the avocado lime sorbet. Good experience overall.

David S.

Yelp
Food's good. We sat outside and had a hard time talking over the awful steel drum player. Service is friendly but not very competent. I doubt I'll go back. There are plenty of places that are better.

Yelp
When we want a quick bite after shopping this is our go to place. The jerk wings are always fantastic. Big wings with lots of flavor. For dinner Sandra had coconut shrimp that were tender and delicious. I had the jerk shrimp. It's a big dish so there is definitely leftovers for tomorrow. Drinks are always good and prices are reasonable. Service is friendly and always pleasant. Enjoy

Yelp
Good proportions and good service! The decor is very touristy/chain food adaptable. I liked the open kitchen concept at this location though. The food is fairly priced. I really enjoyed the pineapple bowl but I like their shrimp tacos better. The bowl lacked a lil bit of flavor but overall it was good. Very family friendly. 8/10

Both Winners! -DESSERT- Margarita Flight for dessert!- Classic, Dragonfruit & Coconut Pineapple. Hit a Trifecta on dessert! Overall customer service was excellent!!!! PARKING- Plenty of it in the mall parking lot!!! Highly recommend Bahama Breeze!
google avatar

Winny L.

Yelp
Bahama Breeze is one of my favorite places to dine...staff is friendly and service is good. Ample parking outside. Inside, the decor makes one feel like being in the Caribbean. The menu is huge from so many options to choose from. Love the spinach dip appetizer...a must have every time I'm here. Other favorites are the shrimp quesadilla and lobster and shrimp pasta. Both are very good. Onion rings are delicious as well. Full bar and a plenty of drinks to choose from - whether in the mood for a magarita, colada, or any of the drink specials. Save room for dessert if you can...or take it to go. Love that one can make reservations online and no long wait than if you come to dine without a reservation.

Yelp
The food is okay 6/10 service Is iffy depends who you get as a server I would give this spot a 7/10

Yelp
Food was great for the prize! Happy hr 4-6pm was worth it ! Conch could have been less doughy . Chicken, empanadas and crab dip was on point. Staff was super sweet , we love Jackie our waiter ; she was very efficient and very helpful. Somebody give her a raise!!!! Great customer service .

Shahper R.

Yelp
This place was a hidden gem... very family friendly and they serve a lot of food for the price

Yelp
The place was packed. Staff all wear masks. Was seated pretty quickly, had no reservation. The menu had so much to choose from. They placed a tablet on the table to give me a visual of all the items. I went with the fire cracker shrimp for the appetizer and tasted one, not only was it over cooked. So I went for the jerk shrimp and that was outstanding. Very flavorful and perfectly cooked; they serve it with a side of warm Cuban bread. Dip that sucker in the buttery sauce and man that's an awesome appetizer in itself. The burger was cooked perfectly and the onions, lettuce, cheese and brioche bun all blended so perfectly that no ketchup was needed. The tostones were perfectly cooked and salted. I got some limes, cause that's how I love them. The coconut shrimp taco was good too, I didn't use the sauce that came with it, was happy with it. OCTAVIA WAS FREAKING AWESOME. Made me feel right at home and for this reason I am giving this place a five. She made suggestions on what goes well with what. You can tell that she has passion for what she does and gets happiness from seeing customers satisfied. The food as good as it was to me was only 2.5 to me. It was Octavia that made it a five.

Yelp
Me and my coworker went on a Friday during lunch and while there was a relatively medium amount of people the food came extremely fast. I will say that what the food lacks in excitement the appetizers most definitely heighten in experience and flavor. Nothing about our meals was innately bad per se, but I will say that me and my coworker both agreed that we enjoyed our appetizers all the more. The appetizers are always to die for and we can say this with the upmost agreement, because knowing this, I wasn't even able to take a picture of the appetizers. We had ordered the chicken, Tostones, the beef, empanadas, and the coconut shrimp. All of which were incredible. Our server was kind and polite- very eager. Overall, the ambience was very chill and upbeat and given a slower day. Definitely still felt like I was in a classic Bahama breeze experience. Will most definitely be back because we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Yelp
Attended the "Top Chef" event last night what an amazing turnout. The chefs that participated created such a variety of dishes it was outstanding. Staff was very attentive. Great event Tyler & Bri and to all the employees who made this a successful event.

Yelp
Had a fantastic time. Our waiter Kevin was amazing! He was attentive and so friendly. The food was delicious. It was my second time at this location, and it was better than the last.. The frozen pineapple was the table favorite! The fried shrimp app was so flavorful. The ribs succulent, and the guava bbq sauce was perfect. I would definitely reorder everything, including the jerk chicken dinner. Just wish it came with a spicy jerk sauce. Other than that, we will return.

Yelp
Walking into the restaurant felt like I was somewhere along the shore which I loved as it reminded me I was eating near a beach. Our waiter was nice and helpful, but took forever to get our order, especially our checks. After we were clearly done eating, our waiter would pass by our table and not give us our check. We had to wait around 20 mins until the waiter finally came back around again to ask for the bill The food was not bad. We ordered the Black Bean BBQ Burger and the Seafood Paella. The burger had a mild spice to it, but had zero BBQ flavor at all. The patty was alright, but a but dry. However I did like the bun as it was soft as well as the side of fruit. The fruit and the veggies inside the burger was fresh. The paella tasted a bit salty but not that bad.

Yelp
Bahama Breeze is always a good meal experience with cordial service, and an outstanding personality cook at the Wayne, NJ location. The pop & Caribbean music and pineapple garnish dishes gives a wonderful ambience. Also, the outdoor dining with the beautiful island landscape is my daughter's favorite....enjoy for the price is right!
google avatar

Tyler A.

Yelp
The steak was cooked medium just how I requested. The mash potatoes were on a perfect balance of thick and creamy. The string beans were tasteless no flavor at all. The plantains were soft delectable and fresh. Margarita was great. 1-10 I'll give them an 8.

David F.

Yelp
I really enjoyed it! Our server Sam was amazing. The vibe of the restaurant was very nice. I got the Blackened Mahi Tacos and it was really tasty, wish there was a lil more sauce on it tho. Overall exceeded my expectations

Kecia P.

Yelp
Love, Love, Love the service provided by Jackie! Always welcoming with a warm smile and friendly greeting!

Yelp
Deplorable experience and even WORSE service! Let me start from the beginning, I made reservations 2 weeks ago for a party of 8 at 7pm. We all arrived approximately 655pm, and we were told there was a wait for a few minutes while some tables were being cleared because, "ironically", there were 3 parties of 8 expected for the same time. Okay, fine. So, FIRST we were taken to the patio area, which was heated, but we were seated at two separate booths, which were not capable of being combined so that the 8 of us could sit together. We were not pleased, it defeats the point of making a reservation - accommodations are not on US, its on the restaurant. That should not have to be said! We weren't happy, but whatever, we were willing to tolerate it as all 8 of us came from different cities to dine together. Then, the young lady who seated us came back and said 2 tables had just opened on the inside of the restaurant that they could combine so that we could sit together - so for the SECOND time, we moved, walking across the entire restaurant with our menus in hand (as advised). We're finally seated, together, as anticipated. And then, our server, he was awful. Absolutely awful, from start to finish. There were 2 other big parties he was serving, he was very unorganized and disheveled. Out of 8 of us, he got 6 orders incorrect. He made an inappropriate comment to my colleague about her hands being very small (as she was talking to him ordering her food). He also said who are all of you, you have a warm feeling are you nurses and doctors. I do not know if this was his way of being charming or friendly, but it fell flat, especially after neglecting our table for so long then suddenly coming over to take orders with NO APOLOGY for inconvenience or anything. I could go on & on about his horrific service. Moving on to food and drinks, my strawberry mojito (or what was supposed to be) came out with more ice than liquid, it tasted disgusting and as he put the drink down in front of me he proceeded to tell me what was NOT available at the bar that was supposed to come in my drink. Why wouldn't you maybe come back & tell me that before bringing it? He didn't really care, it showed. The server also told my colleague (when she asked if any of the pasta dishes came with marinara sauce) that in the Caribbean islands they do not use red sauce. That was the most ignorant statement I have heard in a very long time. Oh yeah, the hostess who sat us, as she was walking us from the patio to the other seating area said we'd ALL get a free dessert for such an awful experience. When we informed our server he said he'd check and then he came back and said ok what dessert do you all want, once we chose he THEN said by the way, only one dessert is coming. For 8 people?! At that point it wasn't even about any free food, it's the principle of the entire scenario. So much more happened and I do not have the space to share it all but know that I will be escalating this because it was just that ridiculous! I would not go back and would not recommend anyone waste their time or money here. The jerk wings were okay, everything else was bland and lackluster. No saving grace for the evening!
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Bahama Breeze has since slashed their menu, effectively eliminating a large number of favorite dishes. The last time I went, I was informed that they had removed my favorite, the chicken tortilla soup, from the menu. I was heartbroken. My fellow diners had also noticed their go-to meals had also been removed from the menu. We have not set foot in Bahama Breeze since.

INDIA O.

Yelp
Came here for date night with the Hubs and previously with a friend. The food is on point, the service even better. Drew our waiter was so efficient, friendly, and welcoming. We had such a nice experience. The place was jam packed but everything ran smoothly.
google avatar

Panda C.

Yelp
The happy hour here is so bomb! I had a margarita and a mojito for only 10 bucks. Our bartender Raquel was so on top of everything. We got our drinks and food very fast. Definitely saved more time than the going to the yardhouse that always takes really long.
google avatar

Julio G.

Yelp
3 stars because the service and the drinks were so good but I thought he food was way too salty. I also felt my dish was over sauced. I really wanted to love the entrees but if I can be honest, stick with the appetizers, cant go wrong.
google avatar

Frankie R.

Yelp
Perfect place for a post work happy hour! Specials are great, can't beat half price apps. The empanadas, coconut shrimp, and wings were all tasty and hit the spot, They have a lot of fun drinks included in the happy hour too. The bahamarita is a fan favorite among my friends. Love the patio here when the weather is nice. Plenty of space to hang out and enjoy each other's company.
google avatar

Hayley L.

Yelp
The place was dead and the service was somehow really slow. However the lunch specials were pretty good. The mahi tacos were good and the seafood chowder was good too. The kids meals were meh. burger sliders came out burnt

Yelp
If you can't go to the Caribbean for vacation, they'll bring the Caribbean to you. Such was the case with us, since at 9 months pregnant I can't fly anywhere, and it was our anniversary. This is a fun, unique spot. As it's name suggests, it's Caribbean themed from the decor to the food-they even have conch on the menu! It's both casual and a step up from your usual dining experience, and not full on cheesy like I was expecting. There were quite a few people there for a Monday night, and the service was insanely fast. Although they had iPads at the table for ordering, they were turned off , per the waitress because the restaurant was short staffed that night. Ordered the crab dip appetizer and the coconut shrimp tacos, and I had the virgin piña colada. The food overall was frankly so so, and the drinks very sugary which some people like and some people don't. I did like that the fruit cup side came with mango sorbet! My husband got the fish tacos which tasted slightly better than the coconut shrimp. To celebrate the occasion we also got a key lime pie as it seemed to be the dessert which was most on theme. We had made a reservation via open table and made a point to write that it was our anniversary when asked "special occasion"? However nothing was done for us nor were we congratulated :( I would prob still come Back here due the unique vibe.

Savitrie L.

Yelp
Good service after not being at this branch for a while. Menu has changed. My best friend and I came here for a late lunch. We ordered appetizers, drinks and salad. One star off because her salad had brown leaves in it and wasn't fresh. Our server Vinny was good. We had to grab his attention to get water but other than that he's a great server. Small booths were really small so we got a bigger booth because we know how we eat lol.
google avatar

Yuribel A.

Yelp
I feel like the food and drinks here were just average. This was my first time at Bahama Breeze and i wasn't too impress to be coming back. The pina colada served in an actual pineapple was pretty cool. But other than that everything else was just simply okay. I had a salad which was huge, and my boyfriend had a burger which he did think was good. The empanadas we had as appetizers were okay. Overall, this place was simply okay. I was not too impressed.
google avatar

Carrie H.

Yelp
Going downhill. Bad service, our waiter basically screwed up our drinks, our food and forgot just about anything we asked him for Food was over cooked and dry. I ordered coconut shrimp with rice and broccoli. Rice was hard and over cooked along Carpeting looks dirty. Definitely won't be back here. Too many other great places to eat Drinks were pretty but way too sweet
google avatar

Melinda M.

Yelp
The MANGO MOJITO (with or without the jalapeño) is my absolute favorite!!! I can sit and drink 3 of them, they're not too sweet. I love all their flavored ice drinks. So refreshing. But that mango mojito though The better restaurants out of the casual dining. I got tilipia with the tequila mango pineapple salsa, and my boyfriend got the coconut shrimp tacos. They were delicious and the portions were large but not too overwhelming (usually loses flavor with size). I like that the coleslaw is lighter. The rum cake dessert is decadent but I love the raisin sauce!

Susanna R.

Yelp
Great experience! The young girl who works there Emely wonderful yet unique service! Felt a few insults thrown within the service but overall a solid host.
google avatar

Cathi C.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for date night after I had come here with a girlfriend during happy hour. She had the shrimp and grits so I just had to try it and boy did it leave me wanting for more. It was not too cheesy, it was the perfect creamy texture. My husband got the Taste of Jamaica, it was mouth wateringly good. Also had the "Pain Killer" cocktail which I've only had when I was in Saint Tomas and it was exactly how I remembered. I recommend it if you love coconut! For dessert, we got the coconut grande and WOW! It left us wanting another one. If you love pineapple and again, coconut- you must get it, it's worth it!

Yelp
This restaurant has taken a serious nose dive in customer service! I e made reservations for Mother's and were giving no indication that there would be a delay. Not only were they not honoring reservations at all, but they offered no direction in how to check in. The hostess was incredibly rude and dismissive when I asked what we were supposed to do. Never going back.

Wilson D.

Yelp
First time here was okay, our servers attitude was very dry, and she took forever to check back on us. Today we decided to give Bahama Breeze a second opportunity. It started off better with Javier, he was very friendly, and quick with bring our drinks out. Yet, when we ordered our appetizers they came after our meals. I'm aware people are still training, but when cleaning up the dining room is more important than the customers, it gives a bad impression to what they really want, which in this case it's going home. Our experiences at this establishment has been less than desirable and we don't anticipate bringing our business here again.
