It's always refreshing when I visit. I love everything about this place. It's my happy place! Try the strawberry cheesecake Bahama mama Rama with vanilla ice cream. It's my go-to! Love it! The young crowd who works here are hard working & friendly.

Best shaved ice ever. They know how to make them right, but they sure don't know how to charge appropriately. I ordered natural flavors, which basically means it has no color. Plain Jane, so-to-say... makes me mad that I had to pay .30 cents extra PER FLAVOR! WOW! Why not pay extra for color instead of for a Plain Jane, boring white snow with clear flavor? 🙄 Mine was the Avalanche size, next to the largest size you can buy. Love, love, love the spoons which change colors as you use them. Great idea. 👍

Sunday my husband and I took a little drive to south Austin and we haven’t been in a while to grab a snow cone but let me tell you we both were happy with our order. I got myself the strawberry vanilla shake and it was bomb!! My husband got the blue cream snow cone and he enjoyed it! Definitely worth the drive!

We showed up at 10:30 when the hours say close at 11. the 3 girls inside the store were giggling when we tried opening the door.

Whoever was working the closing shift tonight did an absolute crap job. She very obviously wanted to leave. I asked for a flat top and at the window she gave me a cone top. After I ate through the cone, that I did not want, the rest of my cup was completely melted already. Seems like she gave me the cone top on purpose to hide that she gave me a drink and not an icee. I actually come to this location a lot and love the snow cones! So this was extremely disappointing. This has never once been a problem before. Normally the inside of my snow cones stay frozen for a long time.

The first time was here I got the sour patch syrup which blended in weirdly with the flavor I got. BUT the second time, I got a mango flavor which was so good I pulled over to finish it haha

Drive Thru is on the side of the 7 Eleven gas station. Thank you for making my shaved ice Cookies and Cream Icey so picturesque. It looked great and tasted awesome. So many cookies. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Bahamas Buck's is the only place I'll go out my way to get snow cones from! I usually only go inside but have gone through the drive thru once before. I will admit I think the service is much slower through the drive thru than inside. But! The quality of the ice is so so soft, I love coming here. The flavors and add ons are good. It can add up but you get a lot of snow cone for the size. I get the small and it always ends up bigger than I thought. What's nice about Bahama Bucks is not only the softness of the ice but also the fact they put the topics and flavors in the middle of the snowcone as well! Most places on put it on the top and let it soak through, but I had sprinkles and crème in the middle of this snowcone as well. Inside is has fun decor but it is attached to a gas station so the bathroom situation was pretty weird.

I enjoy the convenience of the drive-through. I ordered a delicious açaí bowl. Sweet and delicious, yet much healthier than some other options. Went from 100 to zero, real. quick.

As a lover of bahama bucks, I was thrilled to see one here when we moved back to Austin. It pains to say that I will never, ever return to this location. The location is garbage and shares a building with 7-11. Trash all over the parking lot, both literally and figuratively. Just a general sense of uncleanliness. The employees were friendly and the shaved ice was good. But that's where it stops. My child needed to use the bathroom. The employee didn't know the code (gave us the wrong one) so we had to ask the workers in 7-11 who were unfriendly. Y'all. I'm an ER nurse so it takes a lot to phase me. When I say this was one of the nastiest bathroom I've ever been in... I almost gagged from the smell alone which was an overwhelming stench of urine with a hint of feces and marijuana. There was dried urine all over the floor making it sticky, with half-wet toilet paper glued all over the floor. The drain cover on the ground was missing and it was filled with a bunch of trash. I've only seen one other bathroom worse than this in my entire 35+ years of life. This wasn't an "oops, someone messed it up within the last hour, it's normally clean". It's obvious this bathroom is rarely cleaned. It was so repulsive, we threw away what was left of our shaved ice and left.

Service was a little slow expect to wait a good bit when you visit. Not the friendliest people as they just try and rush you on your way. Snow cones are good and soft which is great if you are looking for a light dessert.

Waited in line for awhile just for 2 products, service is very slow, employees give attitude when I asked if they can repeat the order &' still gives me the wrong order at the window. If you want to go to a Bahama Bucks that has fast &' amazing service, gives you your correct order, and has the most friendly employees, I suggest the one in Buda.

I wish I could give zero. I waited 20 minutes for a small ice before getting my money back and leaving. In that 20 minutes, I watched the girl handling the ice with gloves on touch her face and hair, open a cabinet or fridge door and touch multiple bottles of syrup before returning to the grab a handful of ice and shove it in a cup. I mentioned to the manager and she said "they only handle the ice". No ma'am they are touching everything and the ice. There is a lot of activity but nothing is getting done. Just don't do it. It's gross to think about what is being passed to the product and the time list isn't worth it.

My wife has been really into Snow Cones lately so I've been on an adventure with her to try every Snow Cone shack in town. Walking into Bahama Bucks is pretty impressive experience. From the looks of the place you'd think they have the best setup of anyone in the Snow Cone business. Unfortunately the Snow Cones themselves here leave a bit to be desired. I have had two Snow Cones from here and both times the ice was super dry and kinda compacted and reformed into an ice block. I'm not quite sure how it happened but it seemed like all the Ice in my cup somehow stuck and froze together. It was hard to scoop out of the cup and just not what I'm looking for in a Snow Cone. I think soft ice is really important to a Snow Cone and having had the same experience multiple times ... well I cant in good faith give them more than two stars. They do have lots of flavors and you can get Ice Cream in your Snow Cone if you want which is pretty cool.

Came for a baby cherry/grape. They were quick to get my order, but waited at drive thru window for almost 15 mins. Until someone came to window to take my payment. Their was no line l. Was not even busy, their was no customers ahead of me, Then they decided to do a sloppy job on both snow ones that I ordered. Never again Don't waste your time here!! It's snow cones I'm not order a feast buffet, shouldn't be that difficult!

Horrible snow cone place been going here with my girlfriend for almost a year now. The ice they use is either contaminated and not filtered properly or their syrups have some terrible ingredient that makes the snow cones taste salty and the management just doesn't realize at all. If you suck all the syrup out of the ice it just tastes like bleach or salt and not ice. The last and final time I went the salt taste was so bad I could barley taste the syrup in a regular size snow cone. The next morning I felt incredibly nauseous and threw up a clear liquid that tasted exactly like the salty taste in the snow cones. Do not come here.

If you are looking to change up your day you have to come to Bahama Buck's as you can mix and match whatever flavors you are feeling in the moment. We been here a couple of times because it is easy to come thru here when you live down the street :) Sodas, snow cones (raspas), smoothies, bowls, and the like is what you can find here. You can customize your order with all the good extra toppings you want. I noticed there was a sign that indicated there is a happy hour from maybe 2pm - 5pm for 1/2 sodas? I will confirm next time I come around. We stopped here once as they had a special they were advertising on their Facebook page. We got our free treat and hardly had a wait even though the place was packed with families and some of them playing board games here. They have been drive-up and delivery only now in these trying Covid times but hardly a wait in your car either. Make note that the drive up menu is at the furtherest end (near the convenient store) and a small hill up to the take out window. Service has been friendly and prompt the times we have come and noticed they are taking precautions on wearing gloves and a mask when they hand you your order.

drive thru line was a little long to wait in but worth it for these tasty treats to beat the heat!

What's the purpose of asking for extra syrup if your not going to get it the past 3 times I've went I've asked for extra and never get it even ask at the window and they say yes we put extra and it's still dry

When i first moved to Austin i was really excited to be close to a Bahama Bucks, but that quickly changed. Everytime i come here i wait 30 minutes or longer. At first it was linked to always being a few cars backed up, seemed reasonable. However, today i hit my limited. I waited for over 20 minutes AT THE WINDOW for my regular size snow cone and a cup of whip cream for my dog. Multiple different people kept coming up to the window, but never saying anything to me. I finally get my snow cone, which was a small rather than a regular but it's whatever cause i just wanted to get home. Once i start eating, i realized they gave me the wrong fricking flavor. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. will not be going back.

the lime was really good... until i hit a hard chunk in the center that was salty as all hell. so weird, why is it salty??? it also tasted like pool water, almost? what are y'all using to make this snow cone???

I enjoy coming here, especially during these hard to handle hot days. I have tried various flavors, and enjoyed them all. The line is long whether you order in or drive-thru, and I am okay with the wait, since there is air conditioning in there or my car, but that shows how good these snow cones are. They serve shakes, lemonades, and frosty lattes, so this is a great place to cool down. I've ordered the natural coconut flavor twice, and the first time was a hit, the second time around, I got mainly ice, and hardly any coconut, and this has happened twice. Now when I order, I ask them to make sure the syrup makes it's way down to the bottom. They always smile and assure me. One place the I go to, always pokes a straw through the ice to the bottom, and pours the syrup down the hole, and then pours over the top....maybe a suggestion???

Just left this location where we waited 45 mins. Once I received my snow-cone and began eating it I got to a part that didn't have flavoring on it (straight ice) I took a bite and was in absolute shock to the flavor. It tasted like straight bleach/ cleaning product. My fiancé took a bite of the same part and immediately spit it out. We were then unable to eat the rest (including his) for the fear the entire ice was like this and was being disguised by flavoring. Absolutely disgusting and not okay. Update: no response. I think having a strong taste of cleaning products in your product is a pretty big deal.

Changing to 1 star. Just left there and repeated twice that I wanted lots of extra syrup. When I got to the window I asked, "Before you hand it to me (because of COVID and I don't want to hand it back) would you check to make sure there is lots of extra syrup?" She replied that she would. Am eating and there is no syrup at the bottom and the ice tastes like chlorine/cleaning products. This is disgusting and unsafe.

I never thought gummy bears in a sno cone would be good but there really is not a wrong order here. My recommendation is to pick something at random or just ask them to surprise you. Try new things!

How are there 5 people working in this place standing around but it took them 20 min to get the 3 ices out to the car ahead of me and another 10 after I got to the window. They're incredibly slow, but maybe bc 1 person works while the others stand around?? Starting to make it not worth going.

BEYOND UPSET, so we decided to get Bahama bucks as a treat.... we use to visit every other day so we accumulated a bunch of fully punched punch cards last time we went in the manager said they would honor them but could no longer punch the other cards and we had to down load the app.... well surprise surprise we get to the E. stasney location and order 2 snow cones we tried to pay with our punch cards the little girl at the window said no cant take them I explained the situation and what the other manager said and she said sorry and shrugged it off... so then the manager comes over and asks if there is a problem I say yes explained the whole situation again only to be told they won't honor it and all stores are different so to bad so sad... I WILL NOT BE BACK

Great options but the syrup wasn't as sweet as I expected. Might try to ask for extra next time? Good service overall. They'll give your pup a free snowball so that's cute and this is the only shaved ice place I know about in south Austin. They built a drive through and this location is always busy. There's seating available indoors as well.

My review is based on the service not the shaved ice. We love the shaved ice. But the service here was really slow. They messed up on our order. And when handing us our orders, they didn't know which one had the ice cream add on. We asked and they just said yes. For us to later find out there was no ice cream in it at all. I've been to multiple bahama bucks and the workers here seemed to not care or pay attention. The girl at the register was just on her phone and had her airport on.

After reading numerous reviews in which people are reporting receiving terrible service, I'm trying to figure out why the owner keeps responding by telling everyone that her crew is great and they're doing their best. If their best is what we got this evening, you should get new employees that aren't rude and listen to the orders they receive. My only regret is not reading the reviews BEFORE we spent our time and money here. The BB's in Buda & Westlake are SO much better. They put the customer first and actually listen instead of repeating the same lame excuses and blaming the customers for their employees' shortcomings. Do Better.

After waiting for 10min in line, I ordered a strawberry cheesecake delight. After waiting another 15 min in line I got a regular strawberry one and I am not sure if it was my fault since I did not get a receipt. :) I understand when one is busy but I also didn't feel welcome enough to say something after getting the window shut.

This location is staffed entirely by what appear to be 14 year olds. They never input your order into the POS system while taking it, so the order is always wrong. Out of 5 times that I've been to this location, my order has been wrong four of those because the staff is too busy playing around (they often forget to mute the drive in microphone) to actually do their job. I live 15 minutes from this location, so driving back is out of the question, and you're not allowed to go inside. What a joke

Brought my entire family to enjoy Bahama Buck's at W. Stassney on a very hot sunny day. An impolite and curiously unprofessional young female staff member put an end to that with a not-particularly-friendly and rude comment. Ended up going to the 7-Eleven next door. Had a much better (and surprisingly, more professional) experience there. Go elsewhere, or at least to another franchise location (I recommend the one in Buda).

This is an awesome shaved ice franchise. They have different items, shaved ice, smoothies, juice, caffeine items. Over 90 flavors to choose from. The young people that work here are nice and not rude. The drive thru is a huge plus when I just wanna be quick. They are right next to a gas station. They offer gift cards and punch cards!

I waited 21 minutes for one regular sized sno. When I arrived there were 2 cars already at the window. That took 10 minutes so I figured the store was busy as well as the window. Not the case when I got to the window. Empty store. At least 4 people working and still waited over 10 minutes for a regular sno while 3/4 of them stood around doing anything but working on the items. Whoever management is here needs to iron out a more efficient process. Waiting 20 minutes after ordering is absurd for how not busy the restaurant was. Won't be going back anytime soon. Terrible experience. Fire the high schoolers or hire an adult to oversee

Everything just tastes like overly sweet sweet syrup. Like the same flavor for everything. My chocolate item tasted the same as my daughters bubble gum flavored item. Some people will love that. For me, yuck.

Horrible experience. We drove about 20 min across Austin to get to a Bahama Bucks because they are known for cleanliness and friendliness along with delicious shaved ice. However, we had quite the opposite experience. First of all, they were so slow to enter the order into the computer (maybe the girl was new) and then slow to get our order out. We waited nearly 30 min. But the biggest fault, and this cannot be overlooked, is that the bathroom was horrendous. Overflowing and nasty urinal (there was a coed bathroom only), disgusting floors and walls, no toilet paper, no soap, no paper towels and no hand sanitizer. When I asked for these items, I was told they were not responsible for providing them. When I questioned this'd they said they shared it with 7/11 gas station and they had certain days to provide it. so I said that means you have toilet paper and soap so please give me some. And they refused out of spite or revenge towards 7/11. The manager told me that the soap dispenser was broken by a 7/11 customer a while back and they refused to fix it because it wasn't their responsibility. So I asked where the employees went to the bathroom and the manager TOLD me that they used the same bathroom but had no way to wash hands. She also at some point tries to change her story to say they had no bathroom in spite of having a dine in option and tables. These are all kinds of code violations not to mention just poor management and customer service. I would never recommend this location. Disgusting and breaking codes left and right. I hope they get shut down. Oh! And I asked for a refund and was denied. Unacceptable.

Yuck. I had heard this place was good and was determined to try it, even though I couldn't imagine it being any better than my beloved Shaved Ice Island. However, I went out of my way to give this place a shot--I ordered 2 "natural" snow cones in watermelon and mango flavors. After waiting an exceedingly long time in the drive thru line (even though there were only 2 cars in front of me), I was handed 2 colorless snow cones, which I thought was odd. I tasted the mango as I pulled away, and it was very sweet and artificial tasting, with no tartness or even a remote mango flavor. I decided to sample the watermelon I'd gotten for my partner and it tasted exactly the same. It seemed like they'd dumped some Splenda over ice and called it a day. I immediately dumped both out the window (and I am not one to waste food that I paid for) and made a beeline for Shaved Ice Island.

Great fast service! Josh ringed me up and was very polite and pasion on me waiting to decide what to pick, as for it was my first time coming to this place. In the other hand John or James don't quite remember his name and sorry about it. Did a fantastic job on making them quick and greeted me out as I was leaving. Very friendly environment they have card games if you where to just stay and hangout with some friends. As for the smoothies they tasted good but wish the prices where more cheaper. Customer service - 5/5 Smoothie rating - 4/5 Over all rating - 4.5/5

I don't quit understand the hype of this place, but I was willing try it out for someone who loves it. I will say I was impressed with the selection of all the possible snow cones, shakes and drinks. If you don't like overly sweet things (like me), this is not the place for you. You can always go with the skinny option (but I didn't so bad mistake). The vibe was off to me too. They didn't play music so you could hear everyone's conversations and with the bright white lights, it seemed to sterile for me. Willing to give it another try, but I wasn't impressed especially because of the hype it got from all my friends.

On my quest for a snow cone I tried this new spot. Bahama Buck's hasn't been open too long here in south Austin. I decided to go with the skinny option which is their sugar free flavors. I got a large skinny wedding cake with sugar free cream. As I started to eat it I was definitely disappointed. It had a weird after taste. I also was not a fan of how packed the ice was. I know they are sculpting it by hand but I wasn't into it at all. I ate the top part of the snow cone and decided I couldn't handle the after taste anymore. If I give them another try I will definitely get a non skinny option. When I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon they were pretty busy and the store was a mess. It was sticky on the tables and as I walked I could feel the stickiness of the floor.

Brings me back to Texas State days! Love this place and love even more that they have a drive-through! My favorite has always been the banana colada and pink bubblegum, but they have plenty of flavors to choose from as well as toppings! With as hot as texas is, this place is necessary.

Finally a Bahama Bucks has come to Austin! Summer is in full effect, y'all!!! If it's your first time you're in for a treat- it's not your average snow cone, the Summer calls for shaved ice. They got so many different flavors. You can add ice cream, make is a smoothie, a milkshake, a slushy, a Piccadilly. Lol it's seriously ALL delicious. My fav: 1/2 birthday and strawberry cheesecake with cream

Talk about a diamond in the ruff, Stassney and Congress, well worth the traffic to get to. Took a truck load of kiddos after a hot day of fishing and jumped in line. Staff super friendly and patient with questions. Drinks are excellent and tasty not to mention refreshing! You can really tell of level of pride team takes in location, super clean, board games and super cool decor. We will be back!

I got the piña colada with cream and as I got to the middle I ate a spoonful of salty almost bleach like flavor it was good until I got to the middle . What is this ice made of ?

Great food and great service. Down a star from my last visit because the games, which are an important part of the Bahama Buck's experience are trash. There are missing pieces on the torn up Sorry board, missing Connect 4 pieces. The taste of the Tiger's Blood seemed a bit different - not quite as good as normal but okay. Still, our group of 8 enjoyed our treats.

Was craving a sno cone so drove out here and got 2 large shaved ice. Half way into the sno cone on the drive realized the juice was gone and the whole bottom half was plain fluffy ice. Not happy as we paid $9 for these when only half was edible.

They are so nice and with so many choices we will definitely be coming back for more!!!

This is my first time trying this place and I gotta say man it's really really good , the blue coconut was super flavorful , full of blue and the cream was all inside and outside , I got a baby size and it was just enough for me , I'd say it's a bit pricy but it's super good definitely worth it , and the ice is so amazing and soft! I left my snow cone their for a bit as I was playing uno and it was still there frozen I was amazed! I managed to finish it all before melting and I took my time eating that , and not to mention tigers blood is really good ! Not to mention the staff was nice , and they clean the outside of the snow cones so no one gets messy , And oh yeah if you sit inside there's board games to play and uno cards !! It's so much fun . it's so great here , What a great idea for family or friends ! Will definitely be bringing my friends and family here .

I have been very hesitant to write this review because I LOOOVE Bahama Bucks and I was so excited that we finally have one in Austin but better than that in my neighborhood, but here goes...I have gone to this location FOUR times and FOUR times that have gotten my order wrong :( . I'm so very disappointed.

I ordered a Large Cherry Picadilly, We also tried the Watermelon Snow cone they were both amazing! So glad a place like this is in South Austin, I hated driving to Riverside for a snow cone. I haven't been inside the store yet but the drive thru service was great.

This is one of my favorite places to go to in Austin! The smoothies are the best I've ever taste and the shaved ices are decent also. I can't wait to come back! Let's just say it HITS!

Bad service. Order was incorrect. First time there and the cashier acted like I had been coming there for years. Could have been a better experience. Flavors were good though.

This place has got to be Austin's hidden gem. They're snow cone are amazing especially during the hot Texas summer. They have a ton of flavors and can mix up to four and also special flavors like the gum drop. A grape flavor snow cone full of gummy bears.

We've been Bahama Buck's customers for a long time and have been waiting for them to open one in Austin. As soon as we found out this location was open, we drove there right away! The place pas packed when we went there and we still received quick service and did not have to wait forever for our sno cones! And they were just as good as the other locations we've been to!
