Bahdah Sushi

I’ve been ordering takeout from bahdah over the past 3 years and it’s consistently been good with reasonable prices. There is large menu with variety and lots of raw & cooked speciality rolls. Over the years we had most of the apps and several rolls. Usually order raw rolls (Kawasaki Roll, spicy tuna, and yellowtail/scallion), kake udon, miso soup, and Shrimp Tempura Appetizer. I also ordered the seafood pancakes, kimchi, bulgogi & salmon bentos, crab ragoon, spring rolls, fried & steamed dumplings, Korean Spicy Ramen a few times. Typically spending from $15 - $80; offer a few lunch specials for a great price. They are very good with checking your order to ensure it’s all there and separating hot and cold. Ordered lunch over the weekend and wasn’t so pleased with the quality/taste (several items were bland or meh). This was rare occasion where I was disappointed by the food (mushy spring rolls with only duck sauce for dipping; crab Rangoon had little flavor other than watery cream cheese; fried rice and side kimchi were incredibly bland; worse yet I had 5 pcs leftover which I intended to eat later in the evening but the fish already felt/looked tough/old.

I got takeout of the salmon bento box lunch special and it was amazing and such a great deal! More than enough food too!

Probably the best sushi place in metro Detroit for vegetarians!!! The service is fantastic and everyone is so kind. Even before my boyfriend and I left the chef waved us goodbye. I will definitely be eating here more!

We ate at Bahdah Sushi on Christmas. The food and service were both very good. We had the Bulgogi and Udon Noodles and both were very good. We will go back there again. I gave it 4 stars but this could increase if we go back and like it even more

Love this place!! Their sushi is always fresh and tastes amazing! They have weekly specials and pricing is very fair!

Will think twice before coming back here. The eel sauce we asked tasted sour and old. Food itself didn't taste fresh. We took our food home and microwaved it before consuming - which isn'tthe purpose when eating shushis. Service person at the time was in training (young teenager, but he should have had more supervision - which was unfortunate). As for the atmosphere, when you go to the restroom, the storage of things was also on the hallway. I was surprised by the great reviews of this place. It was what made me give it a try, but I hope they take this feedback and make adjustments.

Had a lovely dinner. The server was delightful and quite on top of things. It's a quaint dinning room and definitely great for a quiet dinner.

Excellent food, wonderful service! There were 5 of us; 3 got sushi 2 got bibimbap, we had multiple appetizers and everyone was highly satisfied with every single thing we ate!

I met a friend at BahDah Sushi for lunch today. We had a lot to catch up on, so we took a while to order (but we did get some green tea). We each got the salmon teriyaki bento box and miso soup. Everything was very good, reasonably priced and quite a bit of food; I actually needed a box for leftovers! The server was also very good; she checked on us several times, making sure we had everything we needed and offering to refill our tea. I am sure that I will be back!

This is not authentic sushi. Really bad portion size, rolls are made lazily, and the quality is just not there. I've had much better sushi from Meijer.

Wonderfully surprised how fantastic everything is here! I've seen it driving by but it doesn't look like much from Woodward- finally saw all the great reviews and placed a carry out order today Absolutely LOVED the chicken pho! The broth is fantastic and comes separately from a large box of well spiced chicken, bean sprouts and noodles- all for only $10.95! Enough for 2 ppl We also ordered the shrimp shumai (4 for $5.95), Crunch Salmon Hug roll (8 for $15.50) and a tuna roll (6 for $6.50) Everything was so good Even with tip it was under $50 and we have food left for 1 lunch tomorrow- ordered too much food There is a "convenience fee" added of $1.75 (?) we picked it up (no delivery) so I assume that money is going to the staff in case pick ups aren't tipping?? So I wouldn't give the full 20% since they're already charging you

BahDah is easily my favorite sushi spot in the area. You simply cannot beat the value you get for this food. The lunch teriyaki bento box is a steal and my favorite thing on the menu. When ordering carry out my order has always been correct and the staff in store is super sweet. If you'd like to dine in there are some tables to do so. Highly recommend coming here if you're looking for some delicious sushi at a fair price point.

Awesome experience! For our first visit, we decided to dine in. The drink menu is somewhat limited with teas and soda. We started with a house salad and seaweed salad. Great portions and prices! We also had the fried onion soup, which was a huge hit. I think we will be dreaming of it. We also had the shrimp shumai appetizer - it was pretty good but wouldn't order again. For rolls, we had the American Dream and the Mexican. Wow, very North American of us! Anyway, both were outstanding. Would definitely recommend. We also had the spicy tuna, which was very good. Overall, friendly service and really great sushi. We have been trying to find a good spot for carry out sushi for the longest time without any luck- this is definitely going to be our new spot! Cant wait to try their other rolls!

Our family really enjoys BahDah Sushi. It's great sushi for the price. The service is quick and efficient. The restaurant interior is basic, but very clean, and very family friendly.

BahDah sushi is my new favorite lunch spot! They have all your favorites and some special rolls as well! My last visit I shared the Udon and lunch bulgogi bento box with my husband. The Udon broth is one of the best I have ever tasted! The Bento box is a great deal and comes with sushi rolls, rice, tempura and bulgogi. Everything is delicious here, and you can dine in or carryout. If it's lunchtime, it's a good bet you'll see me there!

I'm removing one star as it's been a while since I ordered from them and I was shocked how much smaller the rolls are. Shrinkflation is definetly a case here. Prices are high but the sushi for very small.

Ordered take out from BahDah Sushi and was satisfied with the food I ordered. Obviously sushi is on the expensive side. In addition to two rolls, which were really good, I ordered the calamari and the crab stick tempura. The calamari wasn't anything special, very middle of the pack. I like calamari, but wouldn't order this again. The crab stick tempura was good, but it wasn't breaded and fried to the level I've had and enjoyed from other restaurants in the past. I would order this again because it was different from what I was expecting, but it was still delicious. The pickup process was very simple with nice service. I was able to quickly walk in and walk out. I think I will be back to try different items.

We were here a few years ago when it was another sushi location. Well the rolls are amazing here also. We had the Halloween roll and Spicy Piston roll and really liked both. The ingredients were fresh and they were rolled well. We also had the Bulgogi bento and Salmon teriyaki bento. I like the variety of a bento box. We'll return soon.

Pretty good sushi for a great price. I occasionally grab lunch from here when I'm at work. The chefs are friendly and so is the day time hostess.

Great food, service was quick and I would love to sit down at this restaurant was very clean. My presentation of my takeout was also amazing, Yelp recommended this place and I'm beyond happy that I finally tried it they did not disappoint!!!

Everything is good that we have tried including entrees, and sushi rolls. There are many bad options for sushi in the area, but Bahdah has always been a great t reasonably priced option.

Excellent sushi restaurant! The fried rice is one of the best I have had. Sushi pieces and just the right size. We had both the regular sushi and tempura fried which did not come out greasy. Will definitely be going back.

AMAZING place! Great good good prices. Server and customer service great. Young kid on Monday and Tuesday is a great server and worker and a sweet kid. I highly recommend!!

BahDah never disappoints. I have a gluten allergy and this is always my go-to when I'm craving sushi take out. I usually order through doordash or Grubhub and haven't been inside the actual establishment but our order is always correct and they always follow any request we ask for. If we state that we have a gluten allergy in the order they will label and separate everything to make sure it is safe. Packaging is always neat and spill-free and the food is great quality!

Updating my review. Going downhill. I have been coming here for years. Was treated very poorly. Will not come back here again.

Had a wonderful lunch there today with friends. The sushi was perfect and delish!! The server was so nice and patient with our slow ordering and was attentive, checking in with us and refilling drinks. Totally loved the interior. You can hear yourself talk, it was cozy (even though the windchill was -10), and was clean! First time here, but NOT the last.

Bahdah Sushi is the best. It's extremely close by/convenient, delicious and fairly priced. Plus every day they offer a buy-one/get-one option for one of their rolls. My favorites are the Spicy Queen and the Tornado! Can't go wrong with anything you order!

Laid back non-commercial experience. Efficient and kind service Great food! The miso soup is tasty and the sushi rolls are generous and flavorful. American dream roll was my favorite.

You'll have to slow down on Woodward to catch this great new Sushi place. But it's more than just sushi with an authentic Korean menu also. I think this was a Poke place before and they still have Poke bowls on the menu but a bowl of raw fish and veg can only go so far. Witness Bah Dah Sushi Japanese and Korean fare. The place is spotless and well laid out to covid theater standards. Service was super prompt despite a steady flow of takeout customers. Lunch specials start at $10 and my $10 bulgogi bento box was fantastic. Miso was thrown in with the deal. What a value! Tempura, bulgogi, dumpling and cali rolls were great. The tempura was light and crispy, the bulgogi sweet and salty. Fantastic. I didn't have any of the "real" sushi but I've never seen a more colorful selection. So check out this Asian newcomer on Woodward. You won't be disappointed. Bah Dah Sushi.... Bah Dah bing......Go!

Excellent Restaurant Everyone in my party had sushi and it was delicious. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very nice and friendly. The dining room was warm and comfortable. You can have a conversation with the people at your table and hear them. Will be returning

Finally decided to try this place out. I tried out the place before this one opened. They used to make these giant burrito size sushi rolls. Today is buy one get one free of the Philadelphia rolls. I ended up getting one of those, a lobster roll in a futomaki toll. The last roll costs $10.50, the lobster roll costs around $12.50. They said it would take about 10-15 minutes. Food was ready within 10 minutes or maybe less. The woman that waited on us had my order ready after asking if I wanted to dine-in or carry-out. The futomaki looked good, nicely packed and perfectly even cuts too. The philly rolls were so good, creamy goodness as was the lobster roll. The Philly and lobster were my two favorites for sure. The lobster roll packs a great punch of flavor, quite nice and made wish I had ordered another roll.

Incredible! We got a carry out this evening from BahDah and everything was delicious! Everything is super fresh and you really get your money's worth This is for sure our new favorite go to for sushi!

Glad we found this place. The music is a little loud but definitely a place to try. We loved this place. Great food and quick service.

Miso soup was really tasty with a nice balance of flavor. Sushi was delicious! Cucumbers were finely cut and fresh!! Everything eel was great. The eel sauce was a little too sweet for me but not enough to make me not want to over eat it. I will definitely be coming back. Very excited to find a great sushi spot. Would recommend!

If sushi does not "wow me", then I am not happy. I love sushi and am always ready for it. But this time, the sushi was not ready for me. - Spicy Dream: This was more like a spicy nightmare. It was poorly rolled and it caused every piece to fall apart. At that point, I should have just asked for a bowl and put it all in there. - Fuji Mountain: I actually enjoyed flavor of this roll mainly because of the seaweed salad top with teriyaki sauce. This roll was not rolled as poorly as the Spicy Dream. - California Roll - Firecracker and Tiger Rolls: Both of these rolls were ordered by my friend. For these five sushi rolls, a lemonade and sparkling water, it was nearly $70. I am not certain that these rolls are worth that considering the lack in roll quality. I want to be wowed and blown away when I go out for sushi; BahDah Sushi did not provide that exceptional experience.

Great low key place for some sushi in RO. Really good prices and the sushi is good. They have other food as well but we just had sushi. Service was good and the sushi came out quick. They also give you complimentary bowls of miso soup (also good!)

Sushi is one of the most difficult to master from a delivery perspective. The goods need to be transported in a climate-controlled environment and need to be delivered very fast. In some parts of the world, that simply is not practical. Oakland County, Michigan may be that place. I enjoyed what I ordered, but it was just ok. By the time my food reached me it was already room temperature. The company will need to improve their togo containers and maybe pursue a low-cost bag to control the temperature of the food as it is delivered. My three biggest issues besides room temperature raw fish: (1) shrimp tail was not completely removed and it highlights a lack of detail. (2) the miso soup was not s good miso soup. Nothing green and two tiny squares of tofu failed to offer the texture. While I recognize traditional miso can also lack both, I was not enamored by the broth alone here. (3) I observed a weird texture with some of the fish - not the mollusks where this is expected. Three things I liked: (1) The Fatty Yellowtail was actually quite delicious. If I ordered again, I would only order that. I plan to give in-person a try and update the review one day. Delivery Sushi is tough. (2) Excellent price. (3) Interesting menu to work through.

Ordered take out sushi from here and the food was meh. Nothing special, tasted like grocery store sushi for high prices. Miso soup was dark brown and didn't taste like anything. Overall kinda disappointed for spending over $100.

I am new to the area and wanted to try the sushi places around me. I have to say this is very average and possibly even below Average sushi around. Maybe it was what I tried but I wasn't a fan. The sushi didn't seem very fresh and neither did the tempura fried things. I have to say I felt a little nauseated after I had it. The oil that things were fried in seems to be old and maybe just a bit too over used and not switched out for a while but it was worth the try I guess. The dynamite roll meat inside had a very odd texture, almost tendon like, not good. The tropical roll wasn't great either, for how much you charge, you're very skimpy on the "tropical" part of the sushi, barely any mango but of course it's STUFFED with cheap cucumber, that's a rip off and not fair. If I wanted cucumber I wouldn't pay that much for a roll, WHERES the fruit?? Absolutely won't be wasting my money here again. Go to Birmingham Cafe or California Roll Sushi for generosity and much much better fresh rolls.

My friend and I wanted some post workout munchies, and I thought sushi sounded healthy enough, so she chose the location. We got carry-out (the norm these days, sigh). We called in our order and it was ready within 15 minutes! This was great and quick. There was a sign on the door that you must wear a mask, so she went in alone to pick up our order. She ordered veggie tempura and edamame, and I ordered a miso soup and a single raw roll. When she came out, I noticed that they had packed it all in the same bag. I don't love when sushi spots package hot and cold (raw) takeout in the same container, because it creeps me out to think the fish might get to an unsafe temp. It took us a few extra minutes to get there, so the sushi had been sitting on top of her venting vegetable tempura for maybe 5 minutes by the time we picked it up. I separated the containers for the rest of the drive home, but by the time we got back, my sushi was lukewarm. Not great sushi temp lol. The miso soup was fabulous, and the edamame was also great and perfectly salty! My friend's tempura box had been vented with little slits at the corners, so it traveled really well!! I had to put the sushi back in the fridge for a while to get to a temperature where I wanted to eat it, but once it had cooled back down, it was pretty good! Just salmon, cucmber and avocado. BahDah had some pretty solid food, but if you're going to order hot and cold foods together, I'd suggest asking for them to be packaged separately. Otherwise, great experience!

Ordered take out via Yelp. One of the reasons why I like sushi for takeout is you don't need them delivered hot to enjoy them. Anyway, their menu is SO huge and it took me days to actually figure out what I want to order (no kidding, I've already browsed the place and menu for days before finally decided to do so). I decided to go for Alaskan roll (a classic roll containing salmon, avocado, and cucumber) and Godzilla roll (deep fried sushi filled with salmon, yellow tail, eel, avocado and topped with teriyaki sauce). I wanted to also have the sweet potato roll but thought I'd be healthier and went for wakame salad instead. The food was neatly packed and on opening all the sushi is still in place. The rice : filling ratio was right. The fish was fresh. I really enjoyed the godzilla roll. Although it's not as crispy as it would have been had I dine in, it's still very delicious. All the flavors come together nicely. A lot of umami for sure. The texture combinations are really good too. The chunky filling and the soft rice goes well with the crunchy surface. I don't have much comment about the seaweed salad except that it tastes just like how you would expect it to be--typical but delicious. For the price I think they're reasonable. My only downside is I wish the rolls were bigger

Do not past this place up. Ordered takeout and it was delicious. Very fresh food. It was ready early and their restaurant was clean inside. Portion size was big and they have nice pricing. They even gave us a miso soup on the house. I definitely recommend!

Ordered pick-up for dinner tonight and was excited to try a new sushi joint! The order was ready on time, looked & tasted fresh. We ordered The Spicy Queen Roll, The Philadelphia Roll, and the steamed dumplings. The Philadelphia Roll was our favorite, and a usual go-to when we're trying new sushi spots! The salmon inside was fresh & tasty, and the cream cheese wasn't overpowering. I would've preferred if the Spicy Queen Roll didn't have so much mayo-drenched crab on top. The roll itself was much better without it, in my opinion. The filling in the steamed dumplings had great flavor, but the paper they came packaged in was stuck to a couple dumplings and wouldn't come off, so we had to toss parts of two dumplings. We'll definitely give BahDah another shot in the future.

It was ok. The sushi was okay. I think it's better than grocery store but it wasn't the best tasting sushi. It tasted fresh but I don't know something was seriously missing. Flavor of any kind was completely missed. The spicy California roll had no spice, like the other rolls, just bland. Also had the cheesecake tempura. It was good Good customer service but I don't know if I would come back for sushi.

Yelp paid off again! Always skeptical about the Korean food you get at a Sushi bar but this was off the chart. Bibimbap was absolutely perfect and the Kimchi made in house was some of the best I ever had. Thanks for the great service! I'm so glad that Governor Twitmier is letting these business flourish again.

Great carryout sushi (have not dined ), I've ordered multiple times in the past year. They have weekly bogo rolls which is nice and a great deal! Packed nicely and priced just right.

Ok this is at the end of my street and I'm a sushi snob, been to japan, really enjoy authentic cuisines of many countries. That said after passing it for a year plus I thought id give it a try and boy am I impressed, nice quality well made made sushi. Its clean and the staff are helpful and over the last 5 semi complicated orders not a mistake. This place while not perfectly Japanese is definitely worth the moderately prices. Give this place a try and thank me later. I'll add pics on my next visit.

Stopped here by chance and the sushi was Great! Service was prompt and polite. Philadelphia roll, edamame, , spicy piston and crunchy California roll all so good and well presented!

Got carry out sushi. Easy ordering online and everything was ready quickly. Miso soup was good but could've used a little more tofu, green onions- it was mostly broth, but it was tasty broth! The rolls were fresh and tasty. Had never gotten sushi here before this, but will definitely order from them again!

It's our favorite sushi place for "Americanized" sushi, meaning their specialty rolls are amazing!! We loved the Corona Killer roll they had on happy hour a while back and would love to see it on the menu. It had jalapeño and everything else I like. I can't recommend their happy hour deal enough.

Ordered carry out for dinner on a Saturday and our food was ready in 10 minutes!! Service was amazing and sushi was even better. Very impressed - we live down the street and will be making this our new #1 spot for sushi!

Ordered online thru Yelp and requested riceless rolls using soy paper or whatever they use. Received the rolls and they were falling apart and a mass basically. Then they added an additional $6 charge after the fact based on the no rice request? No where on the menus that I could find online was this stated. Wanted to like to sushi from a previous experience but this put me off.

Visited this place for the first time and wasn't disappointed. The fat man aushi is to die for. Will be ordering again!

The staff is extremely and patient with answering questions and are willing to make any changes you want to you sushi with no issue. The best vegetarian sushi out of any restaurant I have ever been to. At most places vegetarian sushi rolls are small and sad and boring. Not here, they have lots of great options and the rolls are large.

My family and I love this place. Every roll we order is fresh and tasty. They have a weekly BOGO special on a chalkboard and it is usually delicious. Friendly service!

Have ordered both takeout and delivery from BahDah and they never disappoint. The sushi is always ready before I'm even ready to go get it, and I like how they use tape to make sure the food doesn't spill in your carryout bag.
