This restaurant has been on our list for a long time. We love places that have been around forever. The location is great, the bay views are amazing. We went off season, for a late lunch, were seated immediately, our waitress was friendly and attentive. There’s a lunch menu, and a regular menu. We ordered from both, lots of selections, pricey. The restaurant has a long history (since 1917!) and one can walk around and see artifacts and other displays. There’s a gift shop. One can seat in the large dining areas, or outside, or at the bar. Accessible. Parking can be challenging. Now… the food is just… okay. It’s obvious they’ve been making these dishes for a long time and it shows. Everything was very bland, needing salt and spices. While the food arrived fast and hot, the biscuits could have used more time in the oven, and the calamari could have been crunchier (it was a bit soft). A $25 half lobster roll with cup of soup was disappointing, with the Manhattan clam chowder full of potatoes and no clams and the lobster roll had a small piece of lobster sitting on top - and shredded lobster salad making up for most of the “lobster. The potato pancakes were good looking,”but heavy and dense, and needed salt and taste. The fish and chips, while large pieces of fish, were just … okay. One delicious item were the chips that came with the lobster roll. I expected bagged chips, but these were hand cut, thin, crispy and delicious! So was the drink we ordered, a tropical punch. So good. Go for the atmosphere and to cross an old fashioned restaurant off your list. Share an appetizer and a drink! Save the seafood orders for another place.

Excellent oysters!!! Andrew at the bar made some perfect cocktails and was fun and friendly. We ALL were pleased with our dinners. We recommend the crab stuffed flounder, the seafood marinara and the warm lobster rolls. All of these dishes were fresh and delicious. Donna our waitress was working hard, but she was very attentive and friendly. The fiod came out hot and fast. The views from the dining room are superb. This is a must visit if you'd like delicious authentic fresh seafood.

Beautiful restaurant with amazing seafood and great service! Definitely recommend the yellowfin nachos and getting a seat outside. Our server, Serenity, was the best! Everything was cooked perfectly and there were so many fresh options to choose from. The restaurant itself is full of history and has an adorable gift shop with fun items and old imagery. Overall a great experience and can’t wait to go back.

Even off season- Bahr's brings its best. Had a wonderful lunch from the lunch menu & the cocktails were top notch! We sat next to windows with a view of Sandy Hook. It was a great day!

We had lunch here on a sunny Sunday and found this place to be perfect for seafood and cocktails. The staff is super friendly and understands that when you arrive on a hot day you are best offered a glass of water with ice. The menu is rich and seamless food is all we had. The drinks menu is also great. The cocktails ate prepped with attention to detail. The tables were clean and maintained hygiene standards. What deserves a special mention? The view is perfect here, would definitely love to try during sunset. What could be better? The cutlery could be cleaned properly before wrapping with towel. We found some stains.

We went for Valentine’s day, which at most restaurants slows up the service, but our food and drinks came out in perfect time and we had the best service! Donna Y was our server and she was one of the nicest servers we have ever had and helped me when I was indecisive with what to order - she was the BEST!

🌊 Bahrs Landing Famous Seafood – A Scenic Spot Worth Visiting I recently visited Bahrs Landing in Highlands, NJ, and overall, I had a great experience. The location is gorgeous—right by the water, which makes for a lovely backdrop while you dine. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the seafood didn’t disappoint: fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. It was a bit crowded when we went, so the service was understandably slower than ideal. But even with the delay, the atmosphere and good vibes made up for it. This is the kind of place where you don’t mind lingering a little longer. Would I go back? Absolutely. It’s got that classic Jersey Shore charm and some delicious bites to match.

Loved this place. Stopped for early dinner (around 4:30) on a Saturday, on our way home from Sandy Hook. The location, the atmosphere, and the food were delish. Hubby and I shared steamers, and then a mixed clam bake of sorts. Typical pricing for NJ seafood. I would definitely go back, even if just for a cocktail at the outside bar. I wish I remembered our waitress name... she was very kind..I think it was Darlene?? (Could be wrong 🤦‍♀️). Wait for an outside table was not long...again I think we just missed the crowds getting there 4:30ish. Definitely recommend as a place to stop on way home from Sandy Hook!!

Love this place! 1st time and so worth it. The pictures do it no justice. We were seated near the panoramic window. Beautiful view can't wait to go back in the summer. The restaurant lived up to its great reviews. Started with Manhattan clam chowder. Wow!!! So creamy and tasty! Main course was lobster pot pie and grilled salmon, I ordered the bourbon bbq sauce topping. So fresh and delicious!!! And for dessert Bahrs Blueberry Crumble with vanilla ice cream The menu has lots of different seafood. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend if you're in the area!

This is a great local favorite in Atlantic Highlands! It has a large menu and an interesting nautical themed dining area. They specialize in seafood, and have enormous Brazilian lobster tails regularly on the menu which are one of my go to items. The homemade biscuits they provide complimentary are family favorites as well. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a nice casual seafood restaurant with the family! PS - In October they have a special German menu for Octoberfest with some authentic German options too that are pretty good. The pretzel are enormous and the kids love them.

Came here on a recommendation and it did not disappointment. The restaurant is right next to the water which provided a nice view. Our server was very attentive. We started off with the popcorn shrimp. I had the linguini and clams as my entree. We really enjoyed our meal. The drinks were well made. It is a little pricey but you're paying for the location. I would return

The food and experience weren't what I expected for a $38 dinner. It's the little things, like the subpar iced tea and the possible use of margarine instead of butter with the bread. I suspect I was treated differently as a solo non-local. Strong points on the sampler were the clam strips and shrimp. I'm agnostic about the fish and wasn't into the scallops. Counterintuitively, Bahrs might be a place where the basics are less safe than the complex entrees, as some of the more glammed-up dishes were at least visually impressive, one being the mahi. Scenic location, good collection of ocean-themed memorabilia.

Such a beautiful evening, and a beautiful atmosphere! The parking situation is a little confusing, as this seems to be quite a big and popular restaurant. There are many different kinds of seating, but plenty of them have a beautiful view wether you sit indoors or out. This is a perfect place for a date, a family get together or a slightly larger gathering. My party of 12 sat indoors. Full bar with cocktails and wine was essential. A hefty menu with something for everyone! I was between a few items, but there are little stars next to what Bahr's think they do best, so ultimately I took a chance on the summer special tuna tataki. It was absolutely delightful, and only just caught! We were able to taste a wide variety thanks to getting a smaller lobster and a few appetizers. Everyone was very pleased with their meal, our only thing to note is that the broiled scallops seemed a little lightly cooked. Our server, Roddy, was absolutely delightful. He was very kind, attentive, and told us a little bit about the boat that had caught the tuna for my order! We've been talking about the food and the restaurant for days, definitely some of the best around. We are already looking to come back out!

Bahrs Landing is perfectly situated adjacent to the Sandy Hook bridge and on the water. It has plenty of indoor, outdoor, and outdoor bar seating. It has very appealing nautical decor and historical framed pictures adorning many walls. As always, we were treated very well and enjoyed another memorable meal. Every item that was presented was delicious, well seasoned, and required a to-go box. On top of providing flavorful food, we also perused their gift shop, and picked up a comfortable pair of pj's, just in time for Shark Week.   :-) Bahrs will always be our primary eatery, when in the Sandy Hook area and I'm glad that they ALWAYS come through with flying colors.

Great spot right on the water. Outdoor bar area is dog friendly and has perfect views. The fact that the food is above average is a nice bonus.

We were there to celebrate Thanksgiving. The others in my party ordered traditional seafood items from their regular menu, which were excellent as usual. I opted for their Thanksgiving Turkey Platter for $39. I was expecting freshly carved turkey meat, but was extremely disappointed when the waitress brought out my order. It looked and tasted like glorified food from a diner. Lesson learned. Never order turkey from a seafood place.

Service was very good. Quick and no bull. I do agree that the bread should come with real butter not margarine- and also same goes for any seafood. HAVE TO serve it with clarified butter, margarine is disgusting with seafood. All of the seafood was cooked to perfection (but all had the same seasoning). I get it...old bay is the best but I too was expecting more. I really liked the vibe and the comfort of the restaurant. Bar area is pretty relaxing. I will try it again and maybe go for a different dish like the lobster mac.

Bahrs (pronounced "bars") is an institution. I remember once seeing a picture of Frank Sinatra pulling up in a boat to eat there. It's also been featured in The Sopranos and has been our go-to every time we visit the beach. You can dine inside or outside right on the dock with a view of Sandy Hook Bridge. We always sit outside in the summer. There's an outdoor bar too. I started with a lavender martini which was refreshing and delicious and their Manhattan clam chowder, a signature recipe since 1917. I also loved the Jersey lobster roll on a toasted brioche. It was full of lobster meat. Delicious! I was able to substitute the chips for a small Bahrs' chop salad too. Our young server was friendly and attentive. Overall, Bahrs fits the bill as a traditional seashore destination.

We came here for dinner on a warm day in October because we wanted to sit on the water. The vibe outside is lovely - you can sit at the outdoor bar, sit outside dining or indoors - and have a view of the marina. For appetizers we ordered a dozen oysters and the steamers - both were incredible! For mains, we ordered the Fisherman's Platter and the Surf & Turf and a side of the lobster mac & cheese. Overall good steak and seafood, the lobster tails were over and hard. The lobster mac & cheese was 15/10 delicious. We want to come by in the summer. Highly recommend their spicy margaritas!

Bahrs has been around since 1917, and today still offers great seating options both inside and outside. The bar outside was a great option for us to grab some drinks before heading inside for dinner. The building has large windows which makes every seat in the restaurant a great one. It perfectly reminds me of a typical Maine restaurant. The oysters and the hot lobster roll were some of the best I've had. Extremely fresh and light. I had the broiled scallops for my main which was also excellent. However, one of our guests was disappointed with the Blackened Yellowfin Tuna. It came out much later than all the other entrees, and was very overcooked. However, our amazing waitress, Heidi, was able to accommodate. I think this spot is definitely worth a try & I can't wait to come back. Such a cool vibe.

Randomly found this place driving around looking for a place to eat after going to the beach. We both ordered hot lobster rolls and I had to try the NE clam chowder. Soup could have been a little hotter but overall flavor was pretty good, hot lobster rolls were filled with lobster meat and toasted bun was nice, liked the side of butter as well. Hot rolls were a nice addition and I liked that the Cole slaw wasn't super mayo-y. Service was okay, there was some confusion I guess and it took a long time for a server to come over and help us. When someone finally arrived they were great so it sortve made up for the long wait.

Any place with blue cheese olives for a dirty martini is a winner in my book. Great cocktails and delicious food. I usually go for new england chowder, but their manhattan is amazing. I've been for lunch and dinner, both great, and with a beautiful view. The crowd there spans from casual to more nicely dressed, so don't hesitate to stop in if you're casually dressed.

I hadn't been to Bahr's since I was a kid, but since I'll be moving to the area soon I thought I'd drop in. I was very pleasantly surprised at our meal. We split a Bavarian pretzel and popcorn shrimp, followed by crabmeat stuffed shrimp and a NJ lobster roll. The apps were terrific-the pretzel soft and warm (beer cheese and mustard sauces), the shrimp tender and sweet. The shrimp were exemplary, not those food service type rubber nuggets you're used to getting. The lobster roll was excellent, the stuffed shrimp terrific. The warm biscuits with whipped butter were delicious as well. I figured Bahr's was going to be touristy and overpriced, and I'm thrilled to report it was neither.

You cannot get fresh here at Bahrs Landing Restaurant. It's just not on the menu. From the frozen fried fish sandwiches to the pre scored burgers, everything comes frozen and either deep fried or broiled into absolute oblivion. The chicken on my wife's spring salad was ordered yet strangely missing. If we didn't mention the kitchen error it would have been forgotten. (The chicken finally arrived when she had already finished her salad, not a great showing for a twelve dollar up charge) My flounder sandwich was served on a lackluster hamburger bun with a flaccid pickle spear and lettuce that dated back to the Johnson presidency. The tomato slice was light pink in color, soft and flavorless. The Cole slaw tasted like the walk-in fridge and the tartar sauce was chunky, as if it was made with blue cheese.....Not fresh at all! You don't come to Bahrs to dine white table cloth style, it's no more than a feed o Rama, a frozen beer and shot joint. not much else. Sure they have a thriving cocktail bar serving all kinds of sugary sweet drinks and yes there is a voluminous menu but peel away the edges and find only a high volume feeding establishment without any style or verve. Nothing is memorable and that's ok because the love left this restaurant years ago. And never returned. But will my review matter? Probably not. we will never be back.

We had an amazing lunch today. The restaurant outside was very busy but our wait was quick. 10 minutes. We were able to bring our dog with us. Our server Anne was so sweet. Sitting right by the water and watching all the boats was great, and our food came out really quick despite how busy they were. Fried calamari was a generous portion. Our steamed little neck clams were delicious. I had a crab cake sandwich which was good, and my parents had stuffed shrimp and scallops. Everyone enjoyed their food. Loved it here and would definitely come back!

It's a really beautiful location. The service was good. The food though is nothing to write home about my lobster bisque was super salty and I had to send it back. My husband really enjoyed the clam chowder. I was disappointed with the lobster burger because the description stated that it would have a lobster tail on top, except the lobster tail I was maybe the size of a shrimp. Don't know if I would come back, but I really did enjoy the location and views.

We went to Bahrs 11/3/2024. We loved our food, ambiance and service that Bars had to offer. I got the Broiled Scallops which were EXELENT (as pictured). Same for the Manhattan Clam Chowder. The location of Bahrs (Highlands N.J.) is great! The view from our table was also very nice. If you are in N.J and looking for great seafood and family recipes from 1917, then come on down to Bars Landing.

This place is so overrated! I was so disappointed in the "broiled" scallops! Not a bit of indication that they were ever near a broiler! Not crunchy edges! They were just pale! With a dusting of paprika! We're not falling for that trick! The restaurant is beautiful with nautical artifacts. Great views. Service was good. But if they can't do the seafood properly...

The restaurant is huge, there is outside dining front and back, a seating bar outside and inside two levels. Parking lot. We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather and the scenery. Great service. We ordered for appetizer the yellowfin nachos which were okay. For entree we ordered the jersey lobster roll. It was a good portion of lobster just needed a little more seasoning . The food is mediocre and the food is pricey.

One of the best secret places for genuine German food- check out their Oktoberfest menu for seasonal specials! Nice to have a comforting home meal surrounded by the ambiance of the water

We had a great experience here today. We had the chance for a meal without the kids, so of course it was time for seafood. I really wanted clams, so I had clams on the half shell for a starter and steamers for my meal. They were both very good. My husband ordered the Broiled Fisherman. The shrimp, scallops and fish were very tasty. The lobster tail was ok for it being not local, it was as sweet as Atlantic lobster but it was perfectly cooked. Everyone knows that lobster tail is often over cooked, so that was a pleasant experience. My mom ordered the oyster po'boy. The fried oysters were succulent. My dad has the broiled sampler, which had scallops, cod, fried clams, and shrimp. The clam strips were tender and not overly breaded which I prefer. The New England clam chowder had nice size chunks of clams and tasted great. The lobster bisque had good flavor, but the texture was not quite as creamy as I like. Overall a great meal and the server was great.

Theres a cool gift shop, food is good, definitely way over priced though, the fish was pretty middle of the road, not much flavor, prefer the shrimp. They provide free rolls before your meal. But you pay for the atmosphere and location, which is beautiful. The hostess service was terrible, they told us to find our own seats & provided no directions. Our waitress was super helpful though, and said the hosts are supposed to seat everyone.

Bahrs is simply lovely! This boat themed restaurant also has a small gift shop inside with cute keepsakes. Bahrs serves some of the best Cod fish I've had. It's fresh, cooked to perfection, and definitely a meal I would return for. I'm a sucker for Penne Vodka, and theirs is creamy, savory, and chicken makes a great addition! I enjoy taking my spouse here for a night out, it's always spot-on and their staff is just as amazing. My family has lived in Highlands for years and we've never been to Bahrs.. I have to say that after finally going to try it out... I was missing out all these years, and you are too if you haven't been there yet!!

The food was delicious and the service was excellent but the ambiance sitting outside was the greatest! We had lobsters and mussels! Sweet lobster is the best! The deserts were great; key lime pie and blueberry cobbler! Great evening meal!

Full disclosure I have lived in the area for 3 years and I have avoided Bahrs at all costs. Locally Bahrs does not have a great reputation, it is know as a middle of the road tourist trap with solid high priced seafood. The prices are high however the quality of the seafood is well above par. Service was excellent, our waiter explained all the options and the meals were served quickly. 4lb lobster was tremendous and cooked perfectly. No sides are included which is rather stingy considering you are spending $110 The stuffed shrimp might be the best I have had, shrimp Cooked perfectly topped with a dynamite crab imperial. The fried fisherman's platter was excellent and a huge plate to boot. The platter included clam strips, shrimp, scallops, and fried cod. Perfectly done across the board. The restaurant is a bit dated but there are excellent views from the interior and exterior. Very casual and a good choice after a day at the beach or a day on the boat. Full bar available. If you are looking for a shore fresh dinner I recommend Bahrs. Parking is free, reservations are recommended in season on the weekends.

If you find yourself in New Jersey with a hankering for ultra fresh fish then make a stop at Bahr's Landing. My second visit and this restaurant is always consistently on point, parking can be a bit tricky since it's such a popular eatery amongst locals and visitors but it will be worth the wait. First I want to thank Ann our server who greeted us all with a cheerful smile and from start to the finish of our meal made sure we had everything we needed......I love great service because it's not only the food you want to enjoy but a personable staff member who goes above and beyond and Ann did just that. Albeit at the height of the lunch hour our order was taken and no sooner than we placed it was it being bought to our table piping hot. This rustic place is decorated inside with a true sailor type theme, wooden boats encased in glass in different areas of the restaurant, old photos of fishermen on their boats, etc. I don't typically drink but had a sip of the Bloody Mary that one person in my party ordered and it was magnificently made. A bit of a kick in all the right ways...kudos to the bartender. Some of the interior seats are by the window and in the summer there is ample outdoor seats which are situated right near the water so you get a meal with a view. Bahrs always serves the freshest fish around so no matter what you choose on the menu you will be presented with a treat. Even if you don't have room for dessert you absolutely must not leave without trying my favorite the key lime pie or the second runner up the tiramisu. Prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of food you are getting, the entire meal (shown in photos attached) was $88.00.....not bad considering the cost of food now. Take a peak inside the tiny store before you leave they have cute nautical themed things (lounge pants, socks, soaps, toys, hooded sweatshirts, etc). I cannot wait to go back.

Went for my girls birthday. Ambiance was great. View of the water. We ordered lobster bisque.She wanted broiled seafood combo. I ordered the grilled octopus. I have to say somewhat disappointed in the Bisque, nothing special. The rolls were homemade doughy not cooked through and just lacking in flavor. The broiled seafood was so so, the fish seemed a bit under cooked, shrimp and scallops tough. The grilled octopus was tasty but a bit chewy. Service was good no problems there. IDK just disappointing won't be back.

Nice and empty on a Saturday afternoon on the coldest day of the year lol I had a winter cocktail with cranberries. No photo. It was nice and light Monkfish was decent the veggies were fried and oily It was "ok". Service was good Didn't have dessert Had an enjoyable dinner with friends who live in the area

Note: This review is for Bahr's Octoberfest Menu items only. I like to sample German food where I can, especially during Octoberfest. Visited Bahr's with a friend and tried the German Split Pea & Ham soup which was very good, nice and thick and served hot with croutons on top. I had the Braised Lamb Shank which was overcooked and did have not much taste to it. My fried tried the Hungarian Goulash. Here the meat was a little tough and the sauce tasted more Italian than anything Hungarian I grew up with. Washed my meal down with a nice Paulaner Munchen Lager. This was the only German beer on the menu but it's a good representative of lagers from that part of the world. Overall, the food could have been much better and I would take a pass on Bahr's if you are looking for an Octoberfest meal.

Came here after to go to Sandy Hook. Can come in beachwear if you are here for lunch. Definately sit outside on the dock you can watch boats coming to fuel up. Nice breeze and ocean views. Food is good. I got the classic lobster roll, no complaints. The ahi tuna nachos for app was really tasty. Service tries to keep up but this place gets jammed in the summer time.

Excellent service, great outdoor dining and bar. Had the soft shell crab and fried oysters. Vice nice. Also had a lemon grass drink that was very tasty.

This place is still as good as usual!! Food: 4 (Must have Lobster, Lobster Bisque, Lobster Roll, Fried Clams and **Linguine & Clam**) Service: 5 Decor: 5 The place is clean and has a beautiful ocean view.

A traditional shore restaurant featuring lobster, raw bar, and many delicious treats. Had a Sunday lunch. Service was excellent, view of the water lovely. My shrimp and grits was perfect!

Came her during Labor Day weekend and surprisingly for a waterfront restaurant, there wasn't a long wait time . They don't take reservations for the outside area only inside so I really took a chance coming here for lunch on a busy holiday weekend , but I only waited 15 minutes for a table - score ! Our table was facing many boats and it was so nice and peaceful . Our waitress Michelle was so sweet and had an upbeat personality , she really made our time there a good time . She told us about their specials and we went for the 2 full lobsters for $55 ( that's a steal of a deal ) , not from their specials but we also had their fisherman's platter , a dozen oysters and lobster bisques ( so delicious ) . It was 4 of us and this amount of food was perfect for us to share and left us full . We also had their draft beer , the Moby's revenge IPA and lobster boss lager - all really good . I'm so happy to know they have an indoor section for when it gets cold so I can return in the fall and they also have a little gift shop , we took home some beer- what a plus ! I can't wait to come back .

We had a nice dinner at Bahr's Landing. It was our first dock & dine experience-I learned you needed to call ahead to assure a docking spot. BL looks like a stereotypical seafood restaurant inside, which I like. There's something comforting about it looking exactly how you expect it to, lol. I had Ceviche and Shrimp Scampi that they happily gave me sautéed spinach with instead of pasta/rice. It was tasty, but the sauce did taste very "floury" to me, but I know lots of other people like that. I would have preferred more garlicky & spicy instead, but I did enjoy my meal regardless.

Not sailboat friendly and very rude if you ask for 5 gallons of fresh water while getting(purchasing) fuel. We were told, "You can go to the Alantic to get your water" by Jim. A simple "no" would've been fine. We will never return here and now switch to get fuel at Twin Light Marina. Wish I had the ability to give negative stars.

We decided to stop somewhere for lobster on the way home from Atlantic City and I've had this place in my YELP bookmarks forever so I figured today's the day. I went online and booked a reservation for 7:00 on Saturday night. We arrived right on time and were greeted by a nice gentleman at the desk and were seated within a few minutes. We looked over the menu as we waited for our server. Our server greeted us and asked if we were ready to order. We just ordered some iced water and some calamari for an appetizer and I asked some questions about the market price of the lobster tails and said thanks let me think about it just put in the calamari for now. She shortly returned with 2 biscuits in a basket and asked if I was ready to order yet. I said no I still need a little time as they have a vast menu to choose from (Now you see I do this purposefully to give time for the appetizer to get started and get out because I don't like my food out close together or being rushed) So when she returned the third time I was now ready to place my order. She asked if we wanted to start with something and then stopped herself and said that's right you wanted the calamari. So at that point I don't know if it had ever gotten put in yet? So anyway my husband ordered the shrimp scampi and I ordered the Petite Lobster Tail Platter M/P, That's Four 3oz broiled Brazilian lobster tails, no sides included. That's what I had inquired on the price earlier and it was $49 so I then also added French Fries and a side of Cole Slaw. After a short while the calamari arrived and we had each put a serving on our side plates and began eating. I think I had maybe three or four bites and here come the entrees. The appetizer plate was practically full. I looked at my husband "Like are you kidding me" I was like what to do... continue enjoying my appetizer while my $50 lobsters get cold or send the lobsters back to sit under a heat lamp to turn to rubber? Decisions-Decisions. So obviously when the server returned I asked her to wrap the appetizer since the entrees came out rather quickly. She said I'll bring a box...lol As far as the entrees my lobster was good and I made sure to finish that, the homemade coleslaw was delicious! The fries were undercooked and not crisp. I put those in the container with calamari to be recooked in my air fryer to see if I could salvage them for lunch. My husband enjoyed his shrimp scampi. He said he pretty much enjoys anything he doesn't have to cook himself since he's a chef and does all of the cooking at home too. He said that whole debacle with the food being served like that is pure server error. The server is supposed to tell the kitchen when to fire the food. This scenario ruined my whole dining experience. I really looked forward to eating here.

Okay so this is maybe my 5th time coming... I am never disappointed. The biscuits they bring out are phenomenal. I don't know what they are putting in it but Lord keep doing your thing. The food is a little pricey but imo it is very worth it. VERY FILLING, GREAT PORTIONS, and we sat outside for the sunset. The server constantly checking in was great. Always was helping us. Highly recommend trying it out!

I have been a fan of this eatery for more years than I want to admit. It was a date site for us after swimming in Sea Bright or "the hook ". Recently, my car club had a trek to the shore in our sports cars and ended the day with a late lunch here. I have always been a lobster fan do when I found lobster pot pie on the menu, I was over the moon! This most comfortable of comfort foods made me smile and the others in the group jealous! This long running classic Jersey shore restaurant serves up fresh seafood snd cold beer plus, their bar keep mixed a splendid Bloody Mary - my favorite brunch libation. This is a reliable stop for a good meal, ocean views, efficient service and prices commensurate with quality and quantity. It's all good. As soon as spring arrives, lobster pot pie is off the menu but their chowders stay and the fresh fish options abound. Go , you'll thank me later.

Another great meal at Bahrs, this time for lunch. Ambiance is the best for dinner on the water and our server was very helpful and good. It is expensive. The menu has been expanded and updated and everything was very tasty. Shrimp and grits is definitely a welcome addition to the menu and the pot roast was perfect for our non-seafood eater. But!!!!! Come on, Bahrs! We want the free dish of coleslaw and biscuits back for lunch and dinner. Sure they gave us thimble size portions of coleslaw with our lunches but it wasn't enough because we are big fans of Bahrs coleslaw! We did ask the waiter for the biscuits and he was kind enough to bring some which our out of town guests loved. Other than that, we always enjoy our experience at Bahrs.

Best shucked fresh shucked clams I have ever eaten. The waiter was very personable, humorous and attentive. I wished I remembered his name, but he has been a long termed employee and lives nearby since he walks to work. The nautical atmosphere in the restaurant made the dining overall experience a memorable. Thank you for a great dining experience.

The lobster bisque soup I had two months ago at the bar was over salted and there were zero lobster chunks in the soup. Paid 18$ for a bowl. I was embarrassed to mention how their infamous lobster soup was leaving me completely disappointed

We love coming here after we go to the beach. The place has a large amount of seating indoor and outside. It's right on the water. The outside bar is an awesome place to hang out with great scenery and great ambience. We had the pleasure of having bartender Charley, take care of us on our recent visit. He gave us great advice on the meals and also told us about a special happy hour that you can only get at the inside bar. Which includes two dollar shrimp cocktail and $1.25 oysters. He thenrecommended a dinner for me that I was looking for and it was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place to anybody who is down in the Sandy Hook area.

Been here a few Fridays for happy hour. Appetizers and food I've had was always good. Prices are resale too. Friendly bartenders and staff. The customers are friendly too. I will definitely come back.

Beautiful waterfront dining.Waiter was exceptional. Friendly and engaging. Appetizer and entrees plentiful and prepared perfectly.Always leave very satisfied.
