Baia Blu - Review - Coconut Grove - Miami - The Infatuation

"The Italian restaurant is in Coconut Grove and has the usual suspects on the menu: eggplant parmigiana, spaghetti alle vongole, and cacio e pepe. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

Baiablu is a cozy, tucked-away spot in Coconut Grove that feels like a trip to Sicily. The lemon and blue decor gives it a fresh, coastal vibe, like dining by the Mediterranean Sea. We started with the artichoke gacamole and zucchini fiori — both light and flavorful. The imported burrata was the star of the starters: rich, creamy, and unforgettable. For the main course, the seafood pasta was loaded with fresh clams, mussels, octopus, and prawns — simple and delicious, just like in Sicily. We ended with a soft pistachio cake and a perfect cannoli for dessert that was delicious! The service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Baiablu is a true hidden gem, and once people discover it, the only downside will be the wait for a table.

Baia Blu is an absolute gem in Coconut Grove! From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the stunning ambiance and elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. But the real star of the show? The food and Chef Vincenzo—every single bite was spectacular. The seafood tasted incredibly fresh, and the presentation was just as impressive. The service was attentive and warm, and the wine list had excellent pairings to elevate the meal even more. To finish, the lemon ice cream tasted just like the Italian ice cream from Italy, it was soft, light, and not bitter like you will find at even the most high end Italian restaurants in the US. If you’re looking for delicious food, an upscale yet relaxed vibe, and a true taste of Italy, Baia Blu is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back!

Recently opened in Coconut Grove this fantastic restaurant! What I most like is that Baiablu is owned by an Italian chef which makes the dishes authentic Italian. Almost all the employees are Italian with a friendly and unique charisma. The food is fresh and so far my favorite meal was the branzino. The lobster spaghetti is also good and the tuna tartare as an appetizer is fresh and delicious. I recommend for dessert the pistachio cake. Lovely atmosphere and very nice minimalist decoration. Great selection of wines. Special thanks to Marco and Giancarlo.

Great authentic Italian food! Very friendly staff and great service. We enjoyed the octopus, eggplant parm, branzino, gnocchi and fusilli pasta. The tomato sauce is genuinely delicious. They have a very generous selection of wines at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend this great addition to the Grove and will be returning very soon.

What a beautiful addition to Miami culinary scene! The stuffed zucchini flower, salmon crudo and salmone cooked all were absolutely amazing. Fantastic ingredients, fresh, served quickly. The staff is the representation of Italian hospitality, the manager is an absolute sweetheart. Definitely recommending this place to everyone and coming back pronto!

From the moment we walked into Baiablu, we felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home... warm, inviting, and full of heart. The atmosphere is everything you’d hope for in a true Italian restaurant: cozy yet vibrant, elegant without being pretentious. You can tell right away that this place is special. We started with the tuna tartare, which was so fresh and flavorful it practically melted in our mouths. Then came the pasta frutti di mare, and let me just say — wow. Every bite was a celebration of authentic Italian coastal flavors, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. What really sets Baiablu apart, though, is the hospitality. The manager and chef personally came to our table to make sure we were enjoying everything. When was the last time a restaurant in Miami did that? It’s rare to be treated like more than just another table, but here, we felt truly cared for. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive without ever being intrusive. Just pure class. Baiablu is the kind of place you want to return to again and again — not just for the food, but for how it makes you feel. Can’t wait to go back. Bravo! 👏

Excellent food, service and a friendly and welcoming vibe characterizes this latest addition to the Grove’s vibrant dinning scene. The menu is extensive. The pasta dishes are flavorful and ample. Many are house made. I highly recommend the fish as well. Service is attentive. A can’t miss choice in a crowded field.

Yelp
This place is different from so many Italian options you have in Miami. First of all, it is so authentic. You feel like you are sitting outside in a small city of Italy surrounded by art gallery, little bars, shops- super cozy design and environment. The coziest area of Coconut Grove. The food!!!! You can tell the chef, Vincenzo Borriello pours his heart into every dish. It's very delicate. I have tried there a few dishes with my girlfriend: lobster pasta, artichoke salad, zucchini pasta. All of those are MUST TRY. The pasta that is so comforting and delicate at the same time, accompanied with a great selection of wine. The dessert. I tried three different ones, honestly hard to focus just on one. But canollies are really similar to the ones I have tried in Italy. You can tell the owner and chef are taking care of the place to make sure the guests are happy. Very friendly atmosphere. Fancy Italian is easy to find in Miami but something where you can keep coming back as home is hard to find. I will be coming again and again!!! Bonissimooo!!!

Yelp
This kind of place is the reason that 5 star reviews even exist. Perfectly prepared, authentic Italian cuisine with insanely fresh ingredients I loved the impeccable service. It was a trained, Fine dining service, but with humor and personality. The space is gorgeous and their patio is perfect for a nice evening. Don't miss this gem.

Yelp
NEW Restaurant alert! I recently visited Baia Blu in Coconut grove and had such a nice meal! Its a brand new Italian restaurant, with a very nice seafood selection. I got to try a dish i would probably not select, but it was highly recommended & did not disappoint- the Pear & Gorgonzola Agnolotti. Every bite was delicious, a nice balance between the sweetness of the pear + gorgonzola & a delightful touch of black truffle, sprinkled with parm. It's a must- you can thank me later :) Anyway, I skipped order... we got started with freshly made focaccia, probably the best i've ever had (insert chef's kiss).. we finished it & even asked for a refill! For a appetizers we tried the crispy seafood, the sauted mussels & clams, and my all time favorite- the tuna tartare! Other main dishes ordered were Gnnoci with shrimp & pesto and the beef tenderloin w/ 'mushrooms. We shared a dessert sampler, i was impressed by the cannoli, it was topped with pistachio and the lemon pastry. We shared a bottle of wine, recommended by the staff and it was really good- unfortunately I don't recall the name.. I recommend this establishment for special occasions, business dinners, girls nights, or a romantic occasion. My special occasion was that my dad was visiting, and he really enjoyed the experience. He wants to visit again already! Reservations are encouraged as it seems very busy, the staff is welcoming & helpful with menu questions/recommendations.

Yelp
As an Italian living in Miami, I'm always skeptical about restaurants that claim to offer "authentic Italian" cuisine--but Baia Blu in Coconut Grove truly surprised me. It's rare to find a place that captures the spirit and simplicity of the Amalfi Coast cooking with such elegance. We came with friends and tried a variety of dishes, and everything impressed us. But the standout was, without a doubt, the gnocchi with truffle and pear. The delizia al limone was the perfect way to end the meal. The staff were warm and welcoming, and our server spoke a Italian with us, which was a lovely touch. It felt like being back in the south of Italy, but with a Miami breeze. Rating: 5/5 - A must-visit for Italians and anyone who appreciates real Italian food. P.S. Get the gnocchi. You'll thank me later.

Yelp
We loved Baia Blu! Walking by on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend and their lovely hostess encouraged us to come inside for lunch. The place was alive with families celebrating graduation and early Mother's Day. It felt like Italy on the Amalfi coast. Cozy, energetic and full of love. We both started with Aperol Spritz, along with warm focaccia bread with olive oil for dipping. We ordered the Amalfi salad and tuna tartare, and both were delicious. The service was excellent- no hovering but also there when we needed them. The restaurant had 2 large families on multiple generations celebrating graduation and Mother's Day so the staff was hopping. Although we didn't order the charcuterie platters the families did and it looked AMAZING. Next time we'll try that with a great bottle of wine. Both the manager and the chef came out to check on us. From start to finish, it was the highlight of our trip to Miami. It's not cheap but it's worth it. We will definitely visit again when we're back in Miami.

Yelp
I visited Baia Blu two times in one week. It is a beautiful restaurant with wonderful service and a staff that greets you with such enthusiasm. I have tried many of the dishes but here are a few of my faves. The chicken parm is prepared differently than a normal chicken parm and a lot healthier. The branzino is fabulous. The tuna tartare is worth ordering. The grilled octopus was very tasty. I really liked the Caesar salad. The pear and gorgonzola agnolotti was yummy. My husband loved the Cacio E Pepe. I tried many of the desserts all good but not one I was wowed by.

Yelp
I've hit up Baiablu in Coconut Grove twice now, it's got that Amalfi Coast flair--like you're chilling on a cliffside in Italy, sipping something crisp. The whole place screams White Lotus energy, but in the best way. Think bright, fresh flavors that pop--my go-to is the pear gorgonzola, which is so damn good it's basically taken over the spot in my heart Perricone's left behind. The staff's super friendly, on it with everything, and makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. If you want Italian coastal eats and service that's actually great, Baiablu's where it's at.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking at menu from street when the hostess approached us and gave us seating to their backyard which was an amazing Biophilia escape. The food was awesome. Tuna carpaccio was fresh and paparadel had a a smooth beef sauce. The owner was our server and he was super cool. The service and food were stellar and we know why Miami is #2 in food scene and hospitality.

Yelp
Lunch for six (2/20/2025). Food was delicious, flavors sparkled, and heavenly deserts (not to be missed) served with smiles and 'family' warmth in ample proportions at reasonable prices. A perfect dining experience.

Yelp
Wow! Eight of us were here last night, and we couldn't have had a better time, both the experience and the food. The vibe is perfect. At some restaurants, you feel like you are almost intruding. Here, General Manager Marco knows how the secret to warm welcomes and making guest feel--well, like guests. It's a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The food is excellent. The Chef, rather than hiding in the kitchen, likes to pop out into the restaurant now and then and chat with guests. Our table had a variety of entrees, and everyone thought everything was excellent. It's so nice to go into a restaurant where they make you feel welcome and wanted. This indoor/outdoor restaurant, although new, was very busy on a Saturday night. Deservedly so.

Nick C.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant with a great vibe! Food is top notch Italian. Chef Enzo straight from Amalfi gives you the same quality and taste. It's like going back to Italy when you're there! Servers also add to the Italian authenticity.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Well deserving of a review because this might be one of the best restaurants in the Grove. Food quality and service is top of the line. This restaurant is true to its origin from the Amalfi coast . The specials are absolutely delicious. Atmosphere is perfect and the service (for us it's been Angela) and she's the most amazing along with the chef and the others just a great place . Again food is exceptional.

Hayley S.

Yelp
Ordered in and had one of the best meals of my life. The bread, the fusilli, the sette veli. Everything was incredible.

Laurine Victoria B.

Yelp
For staters... wow !!! The location, the ambiance, the service was impeccable!!! Secondly, the food was exquisite! each bite was so enjoyable and satisfying, and never ending. The staff were so welcoming and warm, the chef personally made me a Carbanara (which was not on the menu)! This was, by far, the best restaurant we have been to in South Florida! Bravo

Terrie V.

Yelp
Great food good service and the staff was kind and a fun place to go. I will definitely go again.

Susie M.

Yelp
I discovered this gem while walking around Coconut Grove. Food and service is 100/10. They don't have an appetizer with just calamari but the chef did it for us anyway. I also tried the pear truffle pasta which was very delicious.

William M.

Yelp
First time to experience their restaurant, GREAT experience. Food was wonderful & well as service. It will be a hit in Coconut Grove. The grove is becoming the place for want to be Italians to dine! . ‍

Susan S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious meal. The Caesar salad was perfect and the pasta was exactly al dente. Loved the flavors and the presentation. Zucchini pasta was out of sight as well as the spaghetti vongole. Will definitely be back.

Giovanni M.

Marco D.

Yelp
Being a native of Italy, it is very rare to be taken back to your country with just a bite...but at Baia Blu that's exactly what happen. I went home to Italy for a night in Miami...and I was not disappointed. Not only was the staff amazing, but the owners even welcomed me with a birthday cake! Talk about special! This is a new location with an old soul feeling! This will become a rare gem for south Florida! Bravo Giorgio

Shaffia C.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant, best in Miami. Lasagna was out of this world.Thank you Giuseppe

Yelp
After hearing great reviews, we went to Baia Blue last night. We were completely disappointed. While we were seated immediately-that was the good part. The waiter was extremely rude and unwelcoming. My plate was without silverware and it was thrown down on the table! As for the food-also thrown down in front of us -yes the eggplant was delicious, but the linguini with clams was a super small portion and excessively salty. The waiter's behavior did not improve during the dinner. After finishing our main course, we waited and waited for someone to ask us if we wanted dessert or the check. Finally we had to get up and find the waiter to leave! At the end of the meal the waiter came over to us and said gruffly I'm sorry we were really busy to tonite-which is not my problem! So an expensive and not very relaxing dinner-and not at all like the hospitality I have experienced in Italy or other Italian restaurants here in Miami
