Inside the restored 1923 Bailey Hotel, BaCA hosts rotating exhibitions, artist studios, and classes, and anchors the city’s First Friday block party, Old Town Untapped. Supported by Pompano Beach Arts, it’s a reliable window into the local scene.

Great space! Presents the opportunity to see great art, take a class, attend a concert, and meet local artists. Nestled in the heart of one of Pompano's fastest transforming neighborhoods! PRO TIP: visit BaCA on the first Friday of the month during Old Town Untapped 6p-10p!

Update: I stopped going to the lunchtime classes because they were so poorly run. Kindergarten art for adults, with very uninspiring genres. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging $5. Other places offer better classes for a higher fee and those are actually worth attending. The teacher never started on time, Always late. The tipping point for me was when she failed to show up at all and gave no prior notice. There are also not many exhibits here. It's pretty depressing. --- Free art classes on Wednesdays at lunchtime. Lots of supplies to choose from.

I'm glad the Pompano Beach Cultural Center recommended we check out Baca. My wife and I enjoyed both rooms with multiple displays downstairs. DON'T FORGET to check out the upstairs where all the artist create inspiration and work in their studios. Very cool place on a rainy day !

This nice little art gallery is located in old Pompano Beach. Todd was very friendly and helpful showing us around and is a wealth of information. The gallery changes it's exhibits every 60 days so you can visit multiple times a year and always see something different. They offer classes and sponsor many other art related events, which the young lady who works there, whose name I can't recall, was happy to inform us about. They also have many artist-in-residence; we were there in the middle of a week and none of the artists were there but he said on The Weeknd the place is really hopping, and the artists are more than happy to talk to you and tell you about their work. If you're visiting the area, or live in the area I highly recommend you check out this little gem.

Yelp
It was a great night at the Bailey arts center. We had gotten tickets for the monthly jazz show they put on here. We had other things come up the past couple months that it was on so was happy to finally have it line up with things. When I arrived they were still setting up. I think actually planned to start late so it was suggested by the people there to enjoy the adjoining arts galleries attached to the center. I didn't expect so much great art to be available. There was modern art, realistic painted portraits, mixed media and much more. In addition, there were resident artists that were actually on site working on pieces. It was very enjoyable. The show started and was great. it was a 4 piece band, playing jazz of a certain motif. All songs were based on the guitarist of the 60's, West Montgomery. The theme made it even more enjoyable. All 4 guys were really good, and all had killer solos. The facility does put up a wine concession too, for those who would like a glass with their jazz. They are off next month, but plan to be back at the next show. It makes for a nice Thursday night show.

Yelp
Bailey Contemporary Arts is a very well-run gallery. I love art. Bailey features beautiful art from extraordinarily talented artists. They have a wonderful first floor gallery space that is just breathtaking. Upstairs, they feature artists in their studios at work creating future masterpieces. It's a wonderful way of showing the full process of how art is created. Bailey also features areas where they have art classes for your enjoyment. It really inspires you to participate in the world of art. There is nothing better than witnessing beautiful art from a spark of an idea to a finished living art piece!

Yelp
What a cool place and I never knew it was here. I had stopped in to the new Pompano Cultural Center to have a look around and the cultural director Pamela told me about this place across the street. Since my daughter is an artist I was intrigued and we headed over to check it out. BaCA as this place is also known has a first floor gallery and on the second floor there are different rooms that the artists rent as studio space and you can go and watch them work. No one was in in residence on our visit but my daughter loved seeing their spaces and the works in progress. Although her work is more digital than fine arts at present I know she would love to have her own space in this beautiful building. There is even a cute coffee house located next door. On the first of every month they hold Old Town Untapped from 6-9. It's a craft brew and arts festival. Outside of BaCA they have craft brew samples from Odd Breed Ales located across the street, art, and food trucks. Other events that are scheduled can be found listed in a pamphlet that you can get from the Cultural Arts Center across the street. I love that Pompano is moving in the direction of having more arts. The director of arts told me that there are actually four venues for the arts in Pompano now as well as a newly created cultural arts council. I look forward to seeing what they present and attending great art events in Pompano in the future.

Yelp
Bailey Contemporary Arts is a small art gallery on a quiet street in Pompano Beach. The gallery consists of two floors divided into several rooms. For those of you that don't want to climb the steep staircase to get to the second floor there's an elevator in the back. Upstairs there's a comfortable seating area, with a couch and a few chairs, and a separate area with a dining table and chairs. Besides exhibitions they have classes, workshops, and various events. Lyrics lab, lunch with art, tours, and open studio with a model are a few of the events on their calendar. Blooming Bean Coffee Company sells freshly brewed coffees along with lite bites. I've been to a few receptions held at this gallery, usually it's an art show opening reception. it's nice to see an exhibit, usually by a new artist, while enjoying a glass of wine and light refreshments. The gallery is also rented out for private receptions, dinners, and events.

Yelp
The concept here is great! On the main floor you can wander between the gallery space. Lots of great contemporary art! Upstairs they have quite a few artist studios! I love that you can walk around and see artists in their studios creating the art right in front of you! There are some talented individuals there and it's great to chat with them. They also have space in the middle of the studios where they have classes, seems like it would be a great fun activity!

Yelp
Wow, if I could leave zero stars I would. I have been trying to visit this gallery for sometime now. It is always closed but google and signs say its open. I called and emailed several times with no response. When a woman named Felisa finally answered the phone, she was the rudest woman ever! She acted like I was inconveniencing her by asking when things would be open. I don't know what kind of show this place is running but Felisa made this gallery lose another patron. I will not be recommending a gallery with such a rude staff.

Yelp
I attended the Art Hive Thursday's events yesterday. Great vibe. Great group of artists from Dade County all the way to Palm Beach County. The space is lovely and my husband got to see the studios. I encourage you to check out the space you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Thursday, July 23rd my husband and I decided last minute to try to join a class that was happening that evening. It was our 10th anniversary and we had a babysitter. A painting class dawned on us at the 11th hour and we ditched our dinner plans to paint. I hopped online and looked at the different classes being offered and we chose Bailey's studio based on the cherry blossom that they were painting that evening, according to their website's calendar. My GPS had us lost very far west at an almost identical address. I called and called and called the studio, choosing different options each time I called hoping to hit the magic number to reach a human being. No one picked up. By the time we found the studio on our own, after getting terribly lost and fitting in time to swing into the store for a bottle of wine for the class, we were met with a darkened studio with no furniture inside. There was a light and fan on in the upstairs studio, but as we rung and rung the buzzer to get up, no one answered, came down to explain there was a cancellation. Nothing. There was another couple there, as well, who had already purchased their tickets online. We all discussed how we would not have time to make the evening class at any of the other many painting galleries that evening. They left disappointed, as well. Needless to say, by the time we got to a restaurant to enjoy what was left of our evening, it was almost time to go home and relieve our sitter. All in all, very unprofessional. A simple sign on the door or a recorded message when you call the phone number to inform patrons that something came up and the class is cancelled would have been sufficient. Disappointing experience.

Yelp
The curator of Gritty in Pink did an excellent job of selecting the best pieces from the most talented and exceptional artists who submitted.
