"In this tiny boutique shopping area in Tigard, a block back from Route 99, lies a tiny hole-in-the-wall burger spot decked out with old movie posters. Bailey's menu is short and sweet, and so is the seating area. The Zuzu burger features red relish and caramelized onions on a grass-fed burger patty that comes across simple, balanced, and classic. The Bailey Burger swaps the caramelized onions for raw, and the jack cheese for American. Tots, fries, sweet potato fries, chicken tenders, and root beer floats round out the side options." - Ron Scott

QUALITY CRISPY THIN PATTY BURGERS I’ve been coming to this joint since they first opened and really appreciate both owners for being wonderful folks who make a great burger. Times are tough to find good reliable help and Bailey’s is obviously experiencing this. The owner was the only person working when I visited over a busy lunch hour on a Wednesday and I fully believe he would want to do better if he could find the staff. BURGERS One of my favorite crispy thin burgers in town for the price. The chili cheeseburger no onion no tomato is my favorite. I would appreciate a little more seasoning in the meat, but I’m a salt fiend so don’t trust me. Haha. ONION RINGS, TOTS, & FRIES Good frozen product that is fried fresh. Huge portions for the price. DIRTY DINING ROOM They open at noon and the trash was overflowing when we got there at 12:15 with baskets left uncleaned. Tables had not been wiped and there was filth on the windowsills. Whoever is closing down this place is likely a millennial. The owner needs to come in early and clean his burger shop up if his employees can’t get up to muster with “usual” closing duties. My most recent experience was dirty dining at its finest. VALUE Exceptional value for the quality of food. We had two Cokes, two burgers, and shared onion rings for $30. SERVICE Service has always been friendly and the people (person) working are always hard at work, but they often don’t have enough staff to make your order in under 20 (or even 30) minutes. If the owner can acquire some quality staff that would definitely improve the experience and make me more likely to visit often.

My wife and I had a craving for a burger and we randomly ended up at Bailey’s Burger Shop. We are so glad we did! The first thing we noticed was how the guy behind the counter seemed to really like working at the restaurant. We later found out his name was “John”. It was clear, John enjoys meeting people and cooking. While my wife and I ate our burgers John, The Charismatic Cook, sang to next song that came over the speakers. It was great! It was great seeing someone happy again… Thanks John Oh, the burgers are great also!

Google
Good classic homestyle burgers! Service was fast and friendly! I guess I'll say that the burger I had hit the spot, but the star of the show are the fries!! They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside!! One of the best fries I've ever had to be honest!! It's hard to explain how good they are because they're not really like any other fries I've had before!

Google
A nice mom & pop burger joint on Tigard’s Main Street. The customer service is exceptional as staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure I was well taken care of during my visit. The burgers themselves were of decent quality and on par with similar burger establishments. Take note, sides and drinks are also available but are not included with your burger.

Google
Perfect burger and fries experience. The Bailey's Double with the Chili Cheese Fries was too much food, but it had to be tried. We enjoyed checking out the movie posters. Bottled Coke in a cooler and self-serve water was available.

02/10/17: This is a small and simple burger place, and it works. The place is adorned with movie posters with seating inside and some outdoor seating. The staff are friendly, attentive and provided great service. The burgers reminds me so much like In & Out Burgers in California, but more on the tastier side. The fries, however, do not. Not too bad but with room for improvement. And, that's where the chili and cheese comes in. Another reason to try something different. So when in the area try Bailey's once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

Google
Wow.. this place is unexpectedly awesome. It's a very unassuming little place, but OH BOY are the burgers good. The grass-fed beef is delicious beyond description, something you have to experience. And there's even perks like house-made ranch and the "awesome sauce" is really awesome too. A great little hole-in-the-wall restaurant well worth your time and money to visit. I wish the menu was a little bigger, but other than that, 💯💯

Stopped here on a bike date and it really hit the spot! Only thing it needs is beer. I love onion rings and these were delicious. Would come again.

Yelp
Cute place! The new owner is sprucing it up with fresh paint and lighting. It feels modern and clean. It was nice that the owner took our order, cooked it and delivered it to our table. I love that ! It felt like a personal experience. We ordered a cheeseburger which had fresh ingredients, crispy shredded lettuce., diced onions, melted American cheese and a lovely slice of tomato. The bun to burger ratio was perfect. It also held together nicely. I appreciate the grass fed beef quality it was juicy and lightly salted. We also ordered a chicken strips basket with fries. The strips were tasty and cooked to perfection. The size of the chicken strips was a generous portion. The fries have a seasoning on them that is flavorful but not overwhelming. We ate the whole pile which is rare for me. I am a picky fry eater these fries are good enough to order by themselves. Show this cute burger place some love. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
It is a classic burger shop that is in downtown Tigard. The menu is fairly simple and inside is small. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. When we went, there was only one person working. He did everything from taking the orders to preparing the food. He was able to do all that and made sure everyone got served. We tried the Zuzu Burger and The Bog Lebowski. Both were good, but I liked the Zuzu a little more.

Marc F.

Yelp
Everybody's a dreamer Everybody's a star Movies make you happy It doesn't matter who you are There are stars in downtown Tigard Small businesses wherewithal And if you eat at Bailey's Burger Shop Their posters are on the walls Don't stare at Greta Garbo As you eat at Bailey's Burger Shop She looks so weak and fragile That's why she tried to be so hard But they turned her into a princess And they sat her on a throne But she turned her back on stardom Because she wanted to be alone You can hear the Kinks As eat at Bailey's Burger Shop Songs that you recognize Songs that you may have not even heard of About people who worked and suffered and struggled for fame People who succeeded and people who suffered in vain Rudolph Valentino Looks very much alive And he's flirting with the ladies As they wink at him in line Avoid sitting by Bela Lugosi 'Cos he's liable to turn and bite, But sit close by Bette Davis Because hers was such a lonely life You can Zuzu or you can chili You could be in and out animal-style And if you eat with Mickey Rooney He would probably make you smile Leave a tip in honor of Marilyn She looking down at you from above Should have been made of iron or steel But she was only made of flesh and blood For those who are nostalgic Embrace the avant-garde Your red carpet is waiting At Bailey's Burger Shop

Yelp
Tasty burger. Special sauce is delicious. Onion rings were crispy. Has indoor and outdoor seating. And if you are lucky the owner will sing a tune while cooking.

Jas T.

Yelp
Barely cooked burger. Keep going don't stop Dirty inside, meat taste old. I'd stop anywhere else fries were good. Whoever thinks this is better than 5guys is silly.

Molly A.

Yelp
Nice independently run place. Overall solid burgers. Fries and onion rings well-done - not bad at all - though not particularly exceptional. Yelp also listed them as having ice cream/frozen yogurt so was looking forward to having a frozen treat as well, but they didn't have any. Overall a bit limited menu - wish they had a smaller kids menu item. Doesn't seem like there are many good independently owned burger places around and this place was decent - would put it above Killer Burger personally though I kinda like Little Big Burger a bit more - it all comes down to personal taste though - quality and execution seemed good. Nice staff. Would return if I'm in the area and feeling like a good burger.

April W.

Yelp
The food was great but they only had one person working at the time so the food was very slow to prepare. Also, they did not have any milkshakes.

Connie C.

Yelp
Family was craving burgers, wanted to support a local shop. Saw amazing photos of fun burgers like Frankenstein, kimchi, ect. Was disappointed there was only three. The regular, chili cheese burger and the Zuzu burger. Each patty was 1/4 lb and $2 more for the second patty. The burgers were just meh...nothing exceptional. Patty was a little dry. Loved the grilled onions. Wasn't a fan of the awesome sarge mmm sauce, it was mayo and relish, almost like a tarter sauce. Also, they charged $.50 for mayo that I didn't ask for and $.50 each for the awesome sauce but no mention of being charged. The highlight was the onion rings but we only got half a basket of those and half a basket of sweet potato fries even though we paid for full orders (see photo). They advertise beers but only had 4 bottles. Overall, $75 including tip for five burgers, three sides and no drinks including tip was pretty expensive. Hope they bring back their fun burgers.

Brian M.

Yelp
Recently returned here after ownership change. Service was fast and friendly. Burgers seem a little smaller. Fries were excellent. For burger shops in the area this is fast and good. You don't get that greasy feeling. I just wish burgers were a bit bigger.

Nick W.

Yelp
Kept hearing about this place and our first visit was Saturday afternoon. The burgers were fantastic! This place is exactly the kind of cool, local restaurant that I love! Service was great, tater tots were perfectly crunchy and the grass fed burger was cooked to perfection! Lots of easy to find parking, the staff was friendly. My new favorite burger place!

Amy A.

Yelp
After reading the reviews I have to say I'm disappointed and won't be back. It's not anything special. Mike's Drive Inn or Helvetia Tavern is much better. I realize that food prices like everything else are going up but $31 bucks for 2 single patty burgers (didn't get grass fed option) one with tots and one with onion rings, no sodas and a very meager tip is not worth repeating. The burger was smaller than expected. Flavor was mediocre. Staff were super and location and decor were inviting.

Sara B.

Yelp
This place was so cute and so good! The guy cooking up our burgers was singing along to the old country music which made it a fun atmosphere. We will be back!

Debra P.

Yelp
No one there. Have you guys closed? Sign said open and door was locked. Same thing happened last week. Everyone okay?

Tonya L.

Yelp
Excellent food. It's not fast food but we'll made. I have been several times over the years and have always had a good experience. I wish they had shakes all year, though!

Elise B.

Yelp
Hands down, the best burger I've ever tried! This place has all the nostalgia of a famous burger shop but elevated. From vintage movie posters and classics being played on the radio, to the comfortable dining chairs. Then there is the food. Fries, cooked to perfection, topped with chili cheese and onion. Burgers made fresh with all the toppings including jalapenos if you like. Root beer floats, and those classic bottled sodas. Gina was so sweet and made sure we had the most amazing experience here. She really went above and beyond, and it really made our day. I can't wait to visit again.

Valerie R.

Yelp
Good food, awesome service, and ice water. The place air conditioning. I always get to see Godzilla.

Shayne A.

Yelp
I've made it a point to try all of these "mom and pop" burger shops to figure out who has the best burger in Oregon without being overpriced or too fancy. I found myself in Bailey's on a Saturday afternoon- a small little eatery with a few tables inside and outside. Staff seemed friendly but perhaps a little stressed (aren't we all). Place was clean. Smelled good. Food? I found the Chili Cheese Fries to be the greatest disappointment of the whole meal. This perhaps may be because of my own preferences but I like the cheese to be melted on the fries and then the chili is added. It seemed they threw some shredded cheese on hot fries and poured some chili on it. The fries by themselves were great, I'd probably opt to get these next time. Perfect size and crunchy level. The burger was good but I felt it was missing something. They add their special sauce on it but it tasted like only mayo was on the burger. A thousand island or mustard blend would have really brought this burger up to another level. I didn't get an ice cream cone but they looked great. Prices? Fair. Reasonable. No issues. Overall I left this place feeling that it was "okay". Nothing amazing but also nothing bad. I certainly wouldn't advice anyone not to try it, as my issues may have 100% been associated with my preferences.

Patrick M.

Yelp
Not even decent. I can barely fill up the minimum number of words for a yelp review. It's a simple Burger. Its should not taste that bad. I'm not sure how it's possible.

Kristin T.

Yelp
Super yummy cheeseburgers! We stopped in for a late lunch and enjoyed the Bailey burger, onion rings and chili cheese fries. Sooo good.

Rich E.

Yelp
Amazing burger fast and friendly service. I would keep coming back here as a regular burger joint!!

Gretchen S.

Yelp
Worth a stop! Friendly service, good burger. Limited menu. Can't go wrong here!

Tara R.

Yelp
GREAT burgers. Make sure to ask for some awesome sauce to dip your fries! Staff are amazing and kind too - a gem of a place!

Ryan T.

Yelp
Food was great, so was the service. Will definitely be coming back, surprised it wasn't busier.

Nancy P.

Yelp
Just had a burger and tater tots at Baileys. The burger was delish. The bun was just right. Crunchy veggies atop a perfectly cooked burger. Yum.

Mario C.

Yelp
We ordered 2 chili burgers, chili fries, and regular fries and the food was outstanding. Service was polite and quick, and the gentleman who took our order was quick and friendly. inside is a nice and quiet small sitting area which is well maintained and comfortable. The outside sitting area is also well kept and maintained. I will definitely be recommending this establishment to anyone and everyone. I think I just found my new favorite whole in the wall burger shop. Will definitely be coming back ASAP!

Chris K.

Yelp
The chili burger was 4/5 but it was small and over priced at around $9.50 - closest thing I've found out here to a Tommy's burger in SoCal. Good portion of fries which were cooked well but a little on the bland side. Staff was 10/10, really cool dude and good music playing. 3/5 overall but id come back just for the chili burger and probably add a second patty next time.

Joseph V.

Yelp
Delicious burgers, onion rings, etc in Tigard! The staff is friendly and they clearly love what they do. I wish I could go there every day. They make their veggie burger patties in house and they are DEEEElicious!!! Great movie posters, lobby cards, and music make it a comfy spot for any meal. And oh my gosh... the sauce/relish on the burgers is out of this world!!!

Jarret L.

Yelp
Great burger great fries! Simple and down to the basics. Great pit stop for a quick bite to eat. The owner was very nice to top it all off!

Jeremy Z.

Yelp
We discovered this place while walking through downtown Tigard and thought we would give it a try. The taste of the burgers was better than average but also not the best burger I've ever tasted. I enjoyed the fries. The key disappointments were: 1) the wait of over twenty minutes from ordering to receiving food. This well could be a result of staffing shortages, so I understand it, but it doesn't make it easier when trying to keep a 1-year- and 3-year-old happy while waiting. 2) we asked if we could order just a plain patty for my ultra-picky 3-year-old, but they said the only option was to order a plain&dry burger (for $7.95 or whatever the cost was). We opted to order a second patty for $2 extra... not sure why they couldn't just give us the second patty on the side... 3) it wasn't an issue today since I didn't order beer, but other reviewers have mentioned (accurately) that this place only sells bottled beer, nothing on tap.

Dannie C.

Yelp
Stopped here because their Yelp page shows a history of fun, creative burgers. Upon driving by there's a clapboard sign boasting Burgers and Brews...this place is gonna rock! It did not! I realize that Covid has been extremely unkind to businesses...especially small family run places with minimal seating. This place was just awkward. Only 3 burgers to choose from and two of those burgers the only difference was ketchup or mayo (the difference between their awesome sauce and their red relish...literally mayo mixed with relish vs ketchup mixed with relish)...they boast Grass Fed but the patties were so dry they tasted like they were either frozen or just overcooked. According to the owner, they aren't frozen...which means that the cook messed it up...unfortunately for me. Grass fed is not an easy protein to work with...I would never feature it on a menu given the fact that it does cook up so dry. There are people out there making better burgers with only vegetables...if you can't prevent overcooking the meat...I wouldn't feature it. Now...the Brews...all bottled...no tap...I'm a beer snob in Oregon...bottles don't work for me...especially when the sign out front makes me think you are proud of what you have to offer! I was looking for more than just 4 bottled options with a sign that big and bold...I guess that's on me too but I have a right to spend my money on the good stuff so...I'll just have a water. I'm not going to complain about the price because honestly...to even eat at a restaurant right now is a luxury...it's only going to get worse since wages have sky rocketed, proteins have steadily increased, imported items (every paper/plastic good in this country is made in China)...it's just going to cost more and could take years for this to 'normalize' due to all of the shortages. I understand your plight, perhaps more than most since I work in the distribution industry. What worked? The fries and onion rings...all good...the Chili Cheese fries were delicious...the onion rings were fantastic! Stop by...enjoy a snack...a thin burger if that's your thing...but don't expect too much.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Tiny little place we stubbled on. Burgers were great everyone in the family enjoyed their order. We had baileys burger, chili dog and a zuzu burger and a large order of fries. Yum! Ate everything we ordered! Left happy .

Special K.

Yelp
Small menu but tasty! Burger was juicy and delicious! Chili fries were on point and friendly service.

Tracie T.

Yelp
We got the standard cheese burger and fries to share. I would return! Very reasonably priced and it was a great meal.

William H.

Yelp
Had the Bailey burger, chili cheese fries and onion rings. Food was great and the service was fast and friendly. The only down side is sitting outside on the patio is directly across from the car wash which made it loud but also drowned out the sound of the highway. I would definitely recommend this spot and will be returning

Andrew A.

Yelp
Bailey's has been on my radar for sometime, I was delighted by my first experience. There are so many burger variations around town: do you like sit down that requires utensils, thin patty or 1/2 to 1 lb., towering monstrosities or handheld, foo-foo (brioche bun anyone?), cheese inside the meat-on top-on the bottom, what kind of cheese, etc. This isn't the 1990s, we're past burgers as a single catch-all category. Bailey's serves my favorite: American classic with SHREDDED lettuce and patty thickness that balances the bun and topping flavors. If you're looking for an experience that mimics sinking your teeth into a cow, then this might not be the place for you. That is, their grass fed beef patties are 1/4 lb., just right. They remind me of those served at Bob's Big Boy (for you Southern Californians.) My favorite Portland-area burger is at Burger Stevens and this somewhat resembles that. Their no-bean chili was hearty, the beef grounded very fine. Top it with cheese and onions and mmm. The 1/2 regular, 1/2 sweet potato fries complemented that excellent burger perfectly. A healthy portion for the price. The staff was very friendly, they weren't just order takers and makers. The owner was cool, she took the time to check on us, she's emotionally invested in her business and it shows. The ambiance fits the offering nicely. And if you're a movie fan then you're in for another treat. More like 4 1/2 stars.

Kentin H.

Yelp
Amazing burgers, nice place, a little expensive. This is a little burger joint that is very welcoming and the servers are wonderful. Food is always good and they have many choices.

Tracy K.

Yelp
Love this burger joint. Bacon cheeseburger and tots for the win. Menu is small but love the food and service is always good.

Sean C.

Yelp
After reading a few reviews by people citing this as "the best burgers ever" "delicious burgers" and "the best I've ever had" and a few other superlatives of high praise--I had to check it out. I wonder how far some of these people have ventured from Tigard, Oregon. The burger was pretty good. It was a 7.5/10 maybe. Solid but nothing to get worked up over. I think people copy social-media hyperbole to express themselves when a more nuanced approach is more appropriate. Not everything is "the best" or "the worst" There are many subtle layers in between Like I said, pretty good burgers & good sweet potato fries. $15 is a little pricey. There are dozens of joints who do it better. Would I go back? Maybe once every couple months

Elisabeth A.

Yelp
So delicious & what a cute little place. Nothing like a little bit of nostalgia while you mack on a savory burger! The gal at the order counter was so kind, she brought me out some onion rings to try because she knew I had wanted them but nobody else did. We're new in town and felt warmly welcomed. We will definitely be back.

Tiv V.

Yelp
The burger and tots were amazing! Made to order, I can taste the freshness. I like the slight char along the edges of the patty, tomato was sweet and lettuce green as crisp. the tots was still crispy when I ate it.

Rayna T.

Yelp
Food was way too salty and wish they still served beer. Was hoping for more from this cute space.

Nissa F.

Yelp
I know it may be odd, but when I order a hamburger plan with only catchup and mustard I only want catchup and mustard I do not want the lettuce tomato or onion because now that's all my hamburger taste like and also it's cold cause you put a salad on my burger. Sweet potatoes fries were great. Husbands burger was good and the Tater tots were great.

Bryant B.

Yelp
This little spot is a gem, period. They are extremely reasonably priced, quick, and very, very good. Less than $10 gets you a beautiful, juicy, and flavor burger on a high-quality bun with fresh vegetables. For another $3 or so, you can get a pile of crispy, delicious french fries. The spot itself is clean and bright, with an open kitchen. Service is prompt, friendly, and efficient. On this outing, my wife had a "Bailey Burger," and I had a "zuzu burger." The former is a standard hamburger executed very well, and the latter is a zestier number with a red pepper relish and jack cheese. The first thing I noticed was the quality of the beef. This is a patty made by a burger connoisseur, pure and simple. The tomatoes are sliced nice and thin, the lettuce is used with restraint, and the onion is there in just the right amounts to augment all the flavors and textures. These are burgers that are cooked and assembled with care, and it shows. The long and short is that you should come to Bailey's hungry and expect to leave satisfied.

Gavin R.

Yelp
Good ass burgers, good customer service, absolute banger music and posters all over the walls

Karri P.

Yelp
Great place! Amazing Burgers and fries!! Ice cream & chocolate sauce Professional staff and quick service!

Dick C.

Yelp
Best burger in town. New owner with lots of foodie experience and better than ever. Fries are exceptional. Nice outdoor seating. You will love Bailey's

Matthew N.

Yelp
Great little spot. Very good burger and best French fries I've ever had. Our order was taken, cooked and delivered by the owner.

Taylor M.

Yelp
Have you ever booked a vacation to a destination you've been looking forward to visit for awhile, and when you get there you just want to go home? That's about the best analogy I have for this place. Store bought buns that get soggy in minutes, non-charred/textureless patties, jalapeños clearly out of a can. Come on, you can do better.

Damon W.

Yelp
It's a great little burger shop, I've been coming here since freshman year of high school and still stop by whenever I have a chance. The service is amazing as ever even with the new management/owners, if you're in the area give this little shop a chance!

DJ W.

Yelp
Solid burger! I had the chili cheeseburger with jalapeños and the onion rings. The chili was really good and was so happy that they don't have beans in their chili or if they did, I didn't see any! The burger was a sloppy delicious mess! Onion rings were crispy and good! We will be back!
