"Dishes like pakora and kachori which both came back from India, chapati from East Africa, and shuwa, Oman's classic special event dish.... they slather a goat with a spicy paste consisting of cumin, coriander, red pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. Then wrap the meat in palm or banana leaves, dig a hole, throw in some meat, and cover it up and leave underground for a day or two over hot coals."
This lovely restaurant is in a famous old tourist area. It has a great view, beautiful décor, and very friendly staff. You can really enjoy the feeling of Omani hospitality here.
I’m not a big fan of seafood, but this was the best seafood I’ve ever had! The fish and shrimp in the stew were so fresh and full of flavor. The other dishes were also delicious and high quality. I truly enjoyed the whole experience.

The place is warm & well designed. Our experienced was great. The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly & welcoming.
Our hearts were overwhelmed to some details like, welcoming frankincense water, providing Omani coffee with dates & at the end rose water as a-sign for farewell with a good smell.
Despite its high prices, it’s well worth it for its high quality in service & food as well.
Not to forget the balcony view is incredible!
Highly recommended✨

The place is warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. Although we arrived around 9 PM and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, the atmosphere made the wait pleasant—I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid the delay.
The food was absolutely delicious! The Shuwa and soup were not only flavorful but also generously portioned. The decor is stunning, and the terrace offers a breathtaking view that adds to the overall charm of the restaurant.
What really stood out were the thoughtful little touches—the complimentary frankincense water, fresh dates, traditional Arabic coffee, and even rose water for your hands as you leave. These details truly elevate the dining experience.
While it’s on the pricier side, it’s well worth it for the quality, ambiance, and exceptional service. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back again!

Picked this place for our friends birthday based on high recommendations from others.
We were welcomed in a nice authentic feeling whilst being polished atmosphere (there is also a pleasant view to the waterfront from the balcony but only small 2 people tables). They provide a large menu of great traditional Omani dishes to choose from and good service. Food was delicious - sizable portions with very flavorful mouth watering Omani dishes.
The only critique is it is reasonably pricey but all else is 5 stars.

The place has a lovely atmosphere with charming traditional interior design, which I really appreciated. However, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations—flavors were average, and I didn’t feel it matched the price point. While I’m glad I visited once, it’s probably not somewhere I’d return to.

We visited this highly recommended restaurant with high expectations but left somewhat disappointed. The nearly two-hour wait to be seated showed its popularity but tested our patience!
Once seated, the service was fast, and we appreciated the restaurant’s stylish interior design. However, the food itself was average at best.

Excellent service and delicious food. They welcomed us with frankincense water and nice faces. They explained the dishes well. We recommend the shuwa for those who like lamb, the date bread, the grilled kingfish and the pakora. At the end they offer you Omani coffee and even wash your hands with rose water.

Bait Al Luban comes highly recommended by all the tourist sites and it’s easy to see why. The decor is beautiful and offers a traditional setting for a real Omani feast. The service was friendly and the food on offer tasty. Definitely a go to for anyone visiting.
