Starting Next Week, Plant Based Papi Will Take Over the Kitchen at Bit House for Three Months | Eater Portland

"I found that the Magna team is leaving the Bit House space so they can focus on reopening their Filipino restaurant on SE Clinton, and that Bit House Collective’s bar will continue to host months-long chef residencies; the bar is closed until June 27, when it will reopen with a drag brunch." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

We visited the Bait House on a rainy, weekday, however, had wonderful live music, and Jackie behind the bar- she was very kind and helpful to us newcomers to the area. Nice view of the river and it was interesting to watch the head boats next door. I’d imagine it’s a very lively spot on the weekends / weeknight. Will return!

Solo traveler. was pretty mush ignored because of the regulars Ok then that's ok. But it was kinda rude.. no food. Just sliced pizza. It was good. I was starving. Nobody asked me if I wanted anything else??? I just ordered ate my slice of pizza drank my drink I ordered and left.. didn't feel very welcome

I went a week ago to see a friend's band. Despite it being cold, windy, and rainy in June, there was a decent and dedicated crowd that stuck around for the night. Gas heaters were scattered around and kept us sort of warm. Bartenders were nice. A few of us did not expect no food to be offered, but I think they had chips. I will return when the weather is nicer when my friend's band returns.

Had a blast tonight. I went to support a buddy's band. The music was great, I got to hang out with some friends, and even meet some new ones. But best of all was the atmosphere. Positioned right on the water, we were treated to amazing scenery, a cool breeze, and good fun. There's a kitchen to fill your belly, a bar to let the good times roll, several distinct seating areas to sit and relax, and a dance floor to bring everyone together. I will be back. Good times.

Great spot to hang out and watch the boats go by. Lots of drink choices, cold beer and full bar. Sunday at 1 was slow so lots of tables and chairs available. Clean restrooms. Pizza can be delivered from just a block away.

The atmosphere is great, sitting on the barge in the marina was great with a live band. But the lack of food was unfortunate. They only have pizza by the slice and bagged chips. If you have a pizza oven you could offer flatbreads…

Google
Cool lil place to hang out. I only went becuz it's on the "rolling bike night" list. It's probably the only reason I'd go back. 1 drink & go. For a lil old bar, the beer & drinks, even the food are getting on the pricey side for this local, even being a tourist town & the view. Very friendly staff tho!

Google
Nothing was as they advertised on their Facebook page. Their idea of bar food was dominos pizza . I feel like I was taken advantage of and that they ruined my birthday celebration. I will tell everyone I know not to go there .

Yelp
By far the BEST bar in Port Clinton! Local and tourist patrons alike flock here to enjoy their large outside deck seating areas, the small ~10 person interior bar, and great views of a river that feeds Lake Erie...particularly at sunset. Great place to lounge, sip a cold one at a reasonable price, play some games (giant Jenga anyone?), talk to some friendly folks, and just have an overall good time. Just be sure not to fall in the water - yup, it happens, Lol! Tips: *Can be a bit difficult to find. Walk through motel parking lot to reach the water's edge. *If you're hungry, there are a few local establishments that will deliver eats right to your table. :)

Yelp
Unless you are a regular - forget this place. Impersonal service. Like you walked into a strangers house and asked for a beer. Never offered a menu.

Yelp
Great spot to have an adult beverage, meet with friends, listen to tunes and watch the river!

Yelp
Enjoyed views of the lake and watching sailboats go out. Great live entertainment. A good 10 degrees cooler on the water at this port location.

Yelp
This place has changed over the last years and not for the better. The service was horrible and they had the most interesting guy playing music there. We went there on Wednesday and couldn't get a beer but the music made us not want to wait around. We used to love this place but now we go to the pub across the way.

Yelp
Returning again from Toledo to Port Clinton to hear the incredible music of Johnny Rodriguez at the Bait House, I am never disappointed in the ideal features of that venue. Owner Don met me with the welcoming hospitality typical of his staff. Such a delightful venue to relax and enjoy time "water-side."

Yelp
Really cool place on the Portage river. So you get to enjoy a drink and watch boats go in and out. The only reason why this isn't a 5 star is one particular bartender. She's a thick brunette and always has sunglasses on. 2 of the last 3 times I was there she was working and if I said she worked at sloth pace that would be offensive to the sloth.

Yelp
Love the bait house !!! Awesome little outside bar on the water. Watch the boats come in and out. And the little drawbridge go up for them.

Yelp
Great outdoor bar. Located right on the river by the mouth of Lake Erie. Great bar tender. Cornhole and other games. Awesome beer selection. I will be here a lot in the summer, saluting the "party time" flag.

Yelp
My favorite place in the area and my go to for bringing out of town guests. Very tiny "hut" where you order drinks and tons of outdoor seating with games and a fire pit. Bonus points for being dog friendly and I have seen many kids and strollers during the daytime hours as well.

Yelp
This was so nice just sitting outside on the lake . Kind of sucks they do last call on weekends though . Liked the cornhole , large Jenga , and the fire pits

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is relaxed with an excellent selection of beers. Although they don't have a kitchen, arrangements have been made with a local pizza place to have something delivered to your table. The transaction is simple - you pay only the Bait House for your drinks and food delivery. To me, this place has a Key West flair to it. I've been there multiple times and have walked away each time very happy with the service, the view, and the other friendly guests. Will be back, for sure!!

Yelp
This is our favorite place in Port Clinton. Right on the lake, corn hole games, Jenga, and live entertainment. Good food also (it's from the Irish restaurant across the street). This place is FUN. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of some surly staff we encountered there today : ( Don't let that stop you from enjoying a great time...we didn't. Cheers!

Yelp
My favorite hole in the wall bar!!! It's small, on the water, plays country, has corn hole, and has giant Jenga. Nothing more a person can need!!

Yelp
This a great little outdoor bar located on the mouth of the Portage River. They have entertainment, giant Jenga, corn hole, and not to mention the amazing view. Although they don't serve food, you can order from Sloopys and have it delivered to your table and all you have to do is pay the bartender. Great selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Love this place and can't say enough about it!!

Yelp
As a baithouse customer for the last 4 years, we have always had a great time. On our last visit the wait help ( Jenny) was so rude, we have always enjoyed a little lunch and cocktails. I was informed by a waitress we could no longer bring food in(they do not serve food) before are group could get our food( from another restaurant ) and cocktails from thier bar together, Jenny came up to us and said she was taking your food away in an extremely rude fashion, she could of said what her rules were in a nice manner. Due to her extremely demeaner our group (10 people) left and took a couple hundred dollar business to bootlegger which were out of thier way polite.

Yelp
A wonderful relaxed place to sit and enjoy the boats. They also have corn-hole, and other great outdoor activities. Plus, the 16 ouncers for 2 bones was great as well.
