The 14 Best Restaurants In Cabo San Lucas & San Jose Del Cabo

"Baja Brewing Co. in San José del Cabo’s historic art district is the number one spot in town to hang out with a beer. Once a small project run by a father-son duo who moved here from Colorado, Baja Brewing Co. has helped put the area on the map for craft beers. The bar pours IPAs, lagers, and seasonal beers, there’s a kitchen that makes burgers, wood-fired pizzas, and burritos, and on most nights you’ll even find a live classic rock band, too." - nili blanck

"Baja Brewing Co. Visiting Baja Brewing Company is a must! Everything on the menu is good, but the Basil-Blue Cheese Burger is my favorite of their pub fare, and I highly recommend their Escorpion Negro if you'd like a smooth, malty beer to go with your meal! Baja Brewing Co. is one of those places you just can't stay away from...good beer, tasty food, and great ambiance whether you're alone, with a date, or bringing the whole family along!"

Google
Good beer. Maybe my best fish and chips so far in Baja, but from my best ever. Fish was not cod, but it was fresh and tasty. We got a flight so we could try various beers, before deciding on a favorite. I would go back!

Google
Great beer selection! Definitely focus towards American tourists, but the bartenders are very nice. They have several locations in the Cabo San Lucas area. The menu is great and the service was pleasant.

Google
The waitress, Paula was very attentive and friendly. The location is perfectly located in the art district. We enjoyed their mead and it had a crisp refreshing slightly sweet flavor. Will have to go back to try their other beers!

Google
Visited Baja Brewing while in Cabo and had a great time catching up with friends over a few drinks. The vibe was laid-back and fun, and the service was excellent—friendly and quick. I tried an espresso martini and it was spot-on, smooth and perfectly balanced. It’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy good drinks and company. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town!

Google
Good selection of beers. I wish we had been hungry because the menu looked great. Fun vibe and great service. Hope to visit again!

Google
We wanted to get some beer and snacks. The menu prices didn’t match what we had seen beforehand - much higher now - so we just ordered a couple of pints. The drinks were not bad, not spectacular. It took quite awhile to get attention so we could get our bill. Very average.

Google
Just came to town and found their amazing pizza, they put malt seeds on the rim, I got the all meet pizza, so good, I ate for 2 ! Great location too and good servers. I will be back soon to try other dishes.

Google
Francisco made the experience great. He recommended good beers and told us of the event happening in the evening. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
The San Jose del Cabo location of Baja Brewing was the first of the two we visited and they couldn't be more different. In good ways. This location has a very local vibe to it, smaller with different rooms and sitting areas. Walking in you go into the larger part with the store to your right and if you go up a step or two and go to the right past the store you'll find the bar and more setting. We sat in the area that was between the two areas that has just two table areas but you get to see what is going on everyone. I noticed while we were sitting there that at a certain time of night a group of people started to gather around a statue and then suddenly there was a body guard/bouncer that moved the statue and opened a doorway to what would appear to be a speakeasy. A fair amount of people went in all at once and then they closed the door or moved the statue back into place. Pretty clever, I wouldn't have thought twice about it honestly but I could tell there was a difference in the type of people in line for the speakeasy vs those sitting around having a beer. Service was friendly and stopped by often to check on us but not being overly pushy. We did notice that the time listed for their closing time must be a loose timeframe as once that time came around, no one really got up or anything. I actually loved that. There was a fair amount of people within the brewery so why not stay open while there is still business?

Yelp
If I am in the art district a stop for a cold one at Baja Brewing is most certainly going to happen. The views of the street keep me entertained. And there almost always a new beer to try.
google avatar

JL S.

Yelp
Great to be back again. Service was prompt at a table. Beers were a bit flat this time. Wish they had more carbonation. Pizza was great though. Wonder what's behind the statue?
google avatar

Yelp
The husband and I stopped by here while on a city tour we choose to do through our hotel. We enjoyed a beer and were excited that we can get this beer at home. The service was great and attentive. We loved the atmosphere while we spend sometime here.
google avatar

Lety S.

Yelp
Walk right into cold flavorful beers. Get your favorite they brew it and service is with Mexican attention & style. We didn't pay attention to parking because we walked into downtown San Jose after getting off the bus, hey for 32 pesos we had more money for beers! Salud!! The ambience is superb no doubt!
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
Food was average to below average. The put weird seeds on pizza. Chips are terrible, don't recommend nachos or chips and guacamole. Only thing we really liked was the boneless wings and chicken tortilla soup. Beers were pretty good and staff did a nice job. Ambiance is good.

Matt D.

Yelp
Food was average. Pizza and fries are a safe bet. Aye Aye IPA is solid. Great patio and pretty god service.

Yelp
We enjoyed the ambiance. The husbeast got steak tacos and he said they tasted like they were boiled- not grilled. I had the portobello mushroom burger with a side salad and it was good. Our friend, who is gluten free, got the mead and a few of us tried it and it just was not good. The beer was just ok. I'd say go for the ambiance! They had live music which was very nice! Pro-tip: there's a speakeasy in the back but it's not owned by Baja I guess.
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
Pizza was good but the chicken nachos were the star of the show!!! Service was a bit slow but good overall was good & the view was absolutely stunning!

Jessica R.

Yelp
What a perfect spot. The ambiance is perfect for a brewery in Mexico including the walk-up window underneath colorful flags. The inside is full of flair and friendliness. Being gluten free, the staff crafted a cocktail for me and beers all to go so we could enjoy while walking through the arts section. Perfect!

Yelp
Nice respit in the village. Good beer and decent pub food. A nice location and service was good. Love their logo!

Debi H.

Yelp
We made reservations for our party of 6 to enjoy dinner & drinks after cruising the art walk. We all enjoyed our drinks & meals & we loved listening to the live band! The staff was amazing! We'll keep coming back every time we're down!

Yelp
Stopped during a tour in San Jose Del Cabo and the staff were super cool!! We had a flight of thier beers and thier ale was my favorite... They do offer pizza and thier local gavorit had seeds on it which was interesting I will add they do have a very good cracker crust making it delicious and light Place was super busy and waiters and waitress were moving the whole time... next time I will come earlier give me time to ask questions and learn more about thier beers.

Yelp
Decent place for a cold frosty one or three on a hot day in Mexico. Service was friendly and helpful. Drinks were creative and full of flavor. Tried the onion rings too, nothing special really... batter too crunchy and not much onion or any creative dip to go with. Overall a chill spot to cool off for a bit, grab a bite to eat and rehydrate before heading back into the heat of the day.
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
This place is actually a pretty cool spot for a drink. We didn't get any food as prior was a major lunch. Prior to arrival, we happened to be speaking to someone and asked them about the town. A focal point to have the Uber drop us off and they mentioned this place. Right in the heart of town and walking distance to plenty of shops, restaurants and other bars. It was mid weeks and still early so it wasn't crowded one bit. There's a patio area that's both inside and along the street. Not quite quite if there's inside seating as we stayed outside. Menus are from the QR code on the tables. Hence it's a brewery, we just opted for a beer which was much needed as it was a hot day. They did have plenty of drinks and beer selections. We just went for the lightest ones they had. Actually quite good. Vibe is great. Cool chill spot for lounging, people watching along the street high top seats. There's also a store inside that sells the souvenirs and so forth. As well as a counter outside for beer takeout.
google avatar

Richard O.

Yelp
Nice chill place for casual food and beer in Cabo. All seating seems to be outdoor over looking harbor.
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
Good selection of craft brews. Service was friendly and efficient. Great outdoor space and industrial style ambiance bar area. Food savory and filling. Fish tacos was great with the La Surfa and Mexican Choriburger went very well the Peyote IPA. You'll find something to satisfy your own taste buds here!
google avatar

Jose V.

Yelp
Good food, good beer, great service! The ambiance was great live music when we visited! We ordered the burger which is just the right size. The mixed drinks were fantastic! The best beer in my Opinion is The Surfa, a light lager beer.
google avatar

Allen S.

Yelp
Good selection of beers. Didn't stay for dinner but all the food that traveled by us looked great.
google avatar

Yelp
With the use of glycol you can brew anywhere. That's why we have breweries in warm weather locations we never had 15 years ago. That being said Baja has good beer - very good. But being an amateur expert who brews and teaches beer making they do a lot right but lack the next level of depth of flavor. It's one note but the one not is good. My ding is the food and service. Multiple things wrong with the orders. How it was cooked and the sides. I don't complain unless it flagrant. Slow service although not busy. But the kicker was the staff was flirting among themselves in the open.
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
I had some type of Amber beer (probably one of the best I ever had!)and my husband had a Blonde Ale.Enjoyed the beers very much and the patio outside is charming too.
google avatar

Carly W.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of checking out Baja Brewing Company on my day-venture to San Jose del Cabo! Def worth checking out/in on your Mexico Adventures. ++ I chose root beer during my visit (I wasn't the biggest beer fan at this point) and it was delicious! Def recommended. ++ The patio is on point! There's a great pergola offering some shade, string lights, and flag banners. Love it! ++ The owners are actually from Boulder, Colorado! How fun is that!? ++ While we didn't eat during our visit, they do offer a variety of bites to satisfy your appetite. Def enjoyed my much-needed break at Baja Brewing Company and look forward to checking it out on my next visit to San Jose del Cabo!!

Yelp
Bartender was nice and the beer and drinks were good BUT we ordered a veggie pizza and it took an hour to come out and it was the wrong pizza with meat on it. When we let them know it wasn't what we ordered they took it back and just picked off the meat and gave it back to us it was the same pizza someone use their fingers to remove the pepperonis and it had hole in it! Absolutely embarrassing to serve that. To their credit the manager came out and apologized and took off some drinks and discounted the bill.

Valerie H.

Yelp
Beware! This would have been zero stars if I didn't have to select 1. They will serve you food and warm beer and after you pay they will let you know the power was out for hours prior.... hence 6 hours later comes the poisoning that ruined days of our vacation. Will never go back or recommend. What establishment would be OK with having power outage serving the food than after PAYING!!! LET YOU KNOW THIS

bob b.

Yelp
Decent American food and American beer with American prices, owned by two Americans from Colorado. May as well go out to a restaurant in America and save the airfare to Cabo.
google avatar

Renee B.

Yelp
We came across this restaurant while exploring the Art Walk on Thursday night. There was a band playing 90s rock which lured us in. We sat on a cozy couch/nook on the covered patio. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The mango margarita was excellent and curly fries were on point. The white pizza (we added bacon) was good and VERY cheesy, although if you're not a fan of blue cheese be sure to ask them to leave it off (we did half and half and I liked it with the blue. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere, margaritas and meal and would go again.
google avatar

Hugh N.

Yelp
We "crashed" here for Happy Hour , literally. For our brief experience, it was good ! We would like to return (soon) to try out other selections (beers & food). We sat outside with a nice streets-view to people-watching & absorbing the busyness of local affairs. It's a busy place with many locals people & nice patio setting. It's definitely a cool spot to hangout. Cheers !

Paula F.

Yelp
The beer was cold and delicious. The guacamole & chips, and the fish & chips were good. We weren't excited about the other menu choices. The waiter was nice and attentive. The seating area was festive and the band was good.
google avatar

Bernadette S.

Yelp
Beyond great view. Super menu & the food was delicious all 3 visits. Beer was good just a little week on diversity. Way cool T-shirts

Justine D.

Yelp
So, we waited a while for our chips and guacamole and then the manager calls a meeting with his staff at 5:30 to 5:40 p.m. who does that?? There was no running water in the bathroom which was very disturbing. I told the gal at the checkin and she said they were aware of the problem. Hence, how was the staff washing their hands??? Food was mediocre and took a long time as did the drinks. We will not return.
google avatar

Debbie V.

Yelp
First let me say we didn't eat any food here, our group just had drinks. We sat outside and the service was excellent. I shared a "fresh razz" with my friend-it was strawberry and mango blended with their raspberry beer. I am not a big fan of beer, but this was really good! Everyone enjoyed their drinks and it was a great atmosphere. This place was recommended to us by a local man, the owner of a cute boutique called "Bloom"-he has a store in Cabo across from "The Office" and in San Jose.
google avatar

Kristin J.

Yelp
Came here for a pizza and beer tasting. The pizza was different but not bad. Would I crave it later? No, but I could appreciate trying a different style. I'm not a beer drinker so alas, my review for that is probably biased but they gave us fair amounts of 3 different kinds to sample. The waiters were nice and efficient.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
If you're in Cano, this is a must stop. Even if you dont like craft beers, the view alone is worth it. We tried the sampler which included every beer they offered, about a 2-3 oz pour. We stayed and soaked in some sun, drank some beers and had a couple of apps. Left with a shirt and 2 stickers for about $90 USD. Would definitely visit again

Karen B.

Yelp
We sat in the bar . Watch college football championship game . Beer was excellent . Service top notch . 3 taco combo very yummy . But get the guacamole and chips best I ever had ...
google avatar

Glenn N.

Yelp
Ok so this is a nice little gem in the middle of old San Jose Del Cabo downtown area. Decent craft beers with a great taproom area with beer garden. Large fans circulating air nicely along with A/C wall units typical of Mexico! To-go bottles and merch available for purchase even lend nicely to the craft beer 'desert' of Los Cabos.. across the street is another taproom called 12 Onzas. Don't miss out but opens late during the week, 6pm. Ratings: Craft Beer- 3 stars compared to US standards; Peyote IPA WC-style IPA with high bitterness and solid malt bill.. Razz foo option for a lighter ale with spot on raspberry adjunct Location/Ambience- 5 stars couldn't be better Service- 4 stars augmented by intro of family member from Colorado. English language may be an issue for non-Spanish speakers Pricing- 5 stars Happy Hour 4-6pm 50pesos/pint(2.75USD) as opposed to 80 regular. Tasting board @ 150pesos From a spoiled American in the craft beer community, don't miss this epic taproom/brewery!!

Yelp
We really liked Baja Brewing company and were fortunate to get to go to both locations - the one in San Jose del Cabo and the one actually in the center of Cabo! We fell in love with the location in the center of Cabo with the panoramic views of the water. We were happy to see that there was another location here while we were visiting San Jose del Cabo for a couple of days. We had the raspberry shandy with muddled fruit and it was super refreshing. We sat in the outdoor courtyard on one of the beautiful little scenic streets there and had a delightful respite from shopping and seeing all of the sights in town.
google avatar

Wendoly R.

Yelp
Service is horrible not sure if our sever Jose Luis was having a bad or what but he definitely ruin my stay in Cabos with his rude actitud. Food was alright definitely not impressed.
google avatar

Jill W.

Yelp
A fun, local place with great food (had the beet salad...amaaaazing, and the blue cheese burger.....delish)!! Staff were super friendly and we had hoped they'd have the NBA finals on, and they did!!
google avatar

Sue N.

Yelp
We decided to go to the art walk in downtown San Jose del Cabo and it was not only hot but humid. It started at 5 but we needed a beverage ASAP. Baja Brewery was a great place to sit back and relax. We sat inside (AC please) and watched cliff diving in France and my husband drank beer and I had Jameson and Ginger-beer! We had chicken wings and hung out for a while... I would recommend going here if you like beer and if you don't... they have other beverages.
google avatar

Troy B.

Yelp
Great spot for tasty beers and good food. Nice seating both indoors and outside. Good for larger groups too.

David K.

Yelp
Good selection of tasty beers. Cheeseburger and fries was a welcome vacation from Mexican fare. Tasty. Band that played was great
google avatar

Jack H.

Yelp
Several beers available but only a couple I really enjoyed. Good gastro grub. They were out of a few menu items, but service was great.
google avatar

Summer D.

Yelp
Disappointment. The 2 stars is for the pizza. We got a 12 inch pepperoni pizza that was very good. We ordered 1 sampler of 6. My gal pal chose 3, I chose 3 to try. Made it very clear in English and Spanish we were sharing the sampler. He brought 2 six samplers of the exact same thing. Why in the world would we do 2 of the exact same thing? He acted confused. We just said forget it n drank them. On to the beer. Now if you follow any of my reviews you know I drink beer and lots of it. Nothing here was worth me leaving my resort for. I tried the raspberry, IPA, pale ale, October fest and I can't even remember the other 2. Nothing horrible. Nothing above average. The 6 samplers were about $10 so $20 since the server brought 2. The patio is crazy with flies so we finished our sampler then went to the bar. Didn't really want anymore of their beer but it was happy hour. Got a pint of the IPA. Now my belly was feeling really bloated for some reason. Couldn't even finish the 1 pint. My belly was so tight. From a sampler n 1 pint? Something not right with their taps that day in my opinion. Left half the beer n went back to the resort. I won't be looking for their beer in the liquor store. Skip it
google avatar

Giena L.

Yelp
Always have to try the local brews. This location is right on the marina in a nice shopping area. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food and brews. Got a flight of all of their beers (and there were A LOT of them) for about $10 us dollars- so that in itself was a great deal. However, I was not impressed by the beers, it could've entirely been because they were warm, or almost warm, but was not a big fan of them. I couldn't even finish them all. The only beer that I could power through was the raspberry beer.
google avatar

Ian S.

Yelp
Fun little brewery! I appreciated the break from the classic Mexican lagers for something a bit more reminiscent of PNW beer. Great space with an outside and inside portion, sports playing on the tvs and while we were there they had a band setting up. The hazy IPA was a great beer, and we absolutely crushed our nachos. Cool merch shop as well!
google avatar

Brandon L.

Yelp
The service was freaky fast. Onion rings and fries were crispy, light, and delicious. The wings were very well breaded, crunchy, and had just the right amount of sauce. Highly recommend and would go again.
google avatar

Jamie N.

Yelp
We drank the Baja Razz!! I'm really in to sour beers and this is the closest I have found in Mexico. Looking forward to coming back.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
Beer flights were huge "tastes." Some were really awesome and others I could pass on. The price cannot be beat though! Pizza crust was super flat and the wrong texture and not amazingly delicious. Service was great and employees were all friendly.
