"Before Chipotle and Qdoba opened around these parts, Nashville had Baja Burrito in Berry Hill serving big-as-your-head-burritos. They’re no spring chicken in the Nashville food scene and they’re in on the joke—the website looks like it did in 2000 and you can fax in takeout orders (though we haven’t tried that yet). photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin That said, the menu is beautifully simple: pick your tortilla (regular, spinach, chipotle, wheat) and all the usual fillings: beans, cheese, salsa, etc. The marinated tinga chicken is especially good, and tomatillo salsa and corn pico offer some nice finishing touches. Baja also has taco options, of which the fish tacos are king. Post up under one of the patio umbrellas burrito and beer in hand, and life will feel a bit breezier. Food Rundown photo credit: Casey Irwin Tinga Chicken Burrito The burritos here follow the traditional assembly line: meat, beans, cheese, toppings, and sauces, all wrapped in a stretchy tortilla that always seems to hold way more than it should. The chicken tinga (a.k.a. chipotle chicken) is tangy and tender, and served pulled as opposed to cubed. Salsas vary from pico to green tomatillo to spicy red (our favorite), and we love the grilled corn relish as the final topper. photo credit: Casey Irwin Fish Tacos Lightly crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, the fish in this taco hits all the right notes. It’s amped up by the crunchy slaw and Baja’s mystery “white sauce,” which tastes like a creamy chipotle. It’s served wrapped in surprisingly soft and pliable corn tortillas, too. Dessert Dessert here rotates, but always get a churro relleno if it’s on the menu. It’s just the right amount of crispy and filled with a smooth caramel sauce." - Bailey Freeman

This place is always jammed. It's a tiny parking lot for a busy place but I found a spot and went on in. Love the interior. Colorful, fun. Ample seating. You counter order and build your burrito with different tortilla options, choice of beans, selection of meats and fixings. Burrito was good sized, plenty of fillings but on the bland side. Everything could have used a pinch more seasoning. Everything was quality and fresh made. Here's the Breakdown: Solid grub at a reasonable price in a cool setting with damn near impossible parking +4 stars. I'd go back.

My friend recommended to me and did takeout. The price was reasonable and the quality was higher than I expected. You can choose foods for burritos. They had four different sources and I like pineapple source. I really loved their fruit juice. I like the decorations in the restaurant.

I heard the rumors about this place so I had to indulge. I now understand why there was a line out of the door and around the corner when we got there, AND WHEN WE LEFT! Don't let that intimidate you when you see it because they know how to move a line. Place was dated, and not the cleanest to be honest, but given the choice I'd rather have top notch food. Staff was super cool given how busy they were. Small beer selection as well. This will be a must-do stop for me every time I'm in Nashville south.

If you want the freshest, best tasting taco’s and burritos that money can buy this place has been providing it for a longtime. The restaurant is a labor of love and the customers have spoken with their consistent support of this family run endeavor. They have built upon this successful business model even adding some locally sourced meat. Using tried and true cooking methods and recipes honed over the years, with a lot of dedicated hard working folks, they have been able to provide the best culinary experience possible. Our favorite taco is the beef brisket which I haven’t found anywhere else and had never tried before! The Barbacoa (beef pot roast) and savory Tampico pork were excellent as well. The chicken taco with black beans is also amazing. They have a delicious salsa bar and great fruit tea punch. The best deal is to buy three tacos which can even be mixed and adding refillable tortilla chips and a drink as a combo! The best time to go is weekdays for a late lunch after the lunch rush around 2:30 or 3:00 pm

I can not say enough good things about Baja! There is no place like it in Nashville. The food is incredible, and while the line might be extended, it goes quickly. This restaurant is fantastic! Everyone, from young children to those with loads of wisdom, will enjoy this place.

Baja Burrito is a beloved local gem, and it seems like the only place that hasn’t hiked prices up due to inflation. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in town and has been for the last 18+ years. They have delicious & fresh build-your-own tacos, burritos, taco salads, etc. It’s usually pretty busy, but they are always quick down the line! They also have several overflow parking lots beside and behind the restaurants. I will always recommend Baja to someone looking for good Mexican food!

This place is always packed, and for a good reason! We got fish tacos on a Monday night the most recent time. When we get them on Tuesdays they are way better, probably because it is so busy, but you can't always predict when you're going to crave fish tacos. I will still go back! They really are the best fish tacos in town. Be aware that they charge extra for chips, but there is an entire buffet of homemade salsas. If the weather is nice, it is nice to sit outside, but it is not very tidy out there, and you're right by traffic.

Food was great. My teen had a hard time telling the woman what he wanted because it was loud in there and he probably wasn't speaking loud enough, but no worries! It is super loud and I felt I had to yell to get them to hear me, also. Not a lot of help if you have never been there like us, but the regulars were more than enough help for me! I got the fish tacos, delicious.
