Bakalikon Greek Market and Bar

Lisa was amazing! She was so accommodating to our large party of 9. We were all struggling a bit from our late night out and Lisa understood the assignment. The best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. And the coffee was exceptional. Lisa took such great care of us and brought us all back to life. THANKS LISA! We will never forget you!

Staff gave themselves a generous 20% tip from my credit card, then asked for more tip on the receipt. When told to remove the tip, a male bar tender stepped in to ask me where the drink was, I said I drank it (hence paying bill) and he said since you drank it, you pay the bill with the 20% tip. Reminder that: 1 - Tip $ is at discretion of the customer, no exceptions. 2 - norm for normal service = 15%, bars pushing 18%, but at a self-awarded 20% then giving us a pen for more on the final receipt in case we don't realize 20% was already charged, that's pure greed confusing wage w/ customer fees. The tip was refunded only when I started to report the restaurant for tipping misconduct. Given the self-righteous attitude and waitress' mockery of me reporting this bar, I won't be the last customer they steal from.

Bakaliko is a fantastic small Greek bar and market with great service, excellent drinks and atmosphere. The bar is very cozy and updated with nice marble and decor. I will definitely be back as I always have a great time visiting here. Located in the heart of Greektown below Exodus.

Fits perfectly in Historic Greektown. The renovated restaurant & bar are gorgeous-- a great place to relax in Detroit. Authentic Greek food, grocery & drinks. On level of best American neighborhoods. Blocks from Detroit Pro Sports. A great neighborhood & the owners provide a really nice environment to enjoy with family & friends. Frequent this establishment. See you there.

☕ Bakálikon Detroit (@bakalikon_detroit) This place blends Greek café culture with a modern Detroit twist. While it transforms into a bar at night, I visited during the day and enjoyed the cozy, laid-back coffee shop atmosphere. Great spot to sip a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic, of course!) and people-watch.

My new favorite place!! This truly is a little piece of Greece. They have authentic Dodoni Feta, sheep's milk yogurt, honey, and liquor made in Greece that I thought would be hard to find in the states. They even make freddo cappuccino. Yanni and Shams were super friendly, helpful and customer focused. The baklava cheesecake was the perfect dessert. I would highly recommend coming here and I will return again and again.

This place was amazing! The hospitality was some of the best in Detroit! We went next door to Golden Fleece, and Lisa and Megan were amazing hosts. Food was delicious and our hosts had the best personalities. Vasili at the bar next door made some Greek Lightning for us which is great. Ask for it because it has to be made if it isn't already made. Visit these spots!! Enjoy!
