Bakawarai Junsui

This is the next happiest place besides Disneyland. When you come here, be prepared to laugh a lot and go home with a smile. The staff here are incredibly warm and funny. My 5 year old daughter and I had an incredible time talking, laughing with the staff and the customers next to us. The sakes here are all priced at the same price so it was really easy to order (too much). I enjoyed the sashimi platter with the smoked hamachi which was the first time I have seen in an izakaya. The only complaint was I found some of the dishes a little salty like the stir fried ramen and the chicken skewers. The prices here are all reasonable and I’d come back here frequently if I stay in the neighbourhood.

It's one of my favorite places to be in the world, bar none. Been there multiple times over multiple visits to Japan and have always had an absolutely amazing time. Staff are super friendly and accommodating, other patrons are always willing to have a conversation, and the food and drinks are incredible as well. I heartily recommend asking for their recommendations and just going with it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Ate all the food that was recommended and it was all delicious. The ichigo highball and matcha shochu were also tasty! The service is the best part. Everyone, staff and locals, is friendly. We didn't have a reservation and the seating was full, but they whipped out a corner table to seat us quickly. When there was space we got to sit at the counter and it was amazing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great time with good vibes.

One of the places I recommend to visit if you want to have a fun and delicious meal. Chefs were very friendly and entertaining. Food was awesome!!!

What can I say about this place. It feels like eating at a bbq in your back yard with all your best friends. Atmosphere is top notch and always fun. Make sure you ask to do the challenge to flip your own pork egg roll for some extra fun and great for pictures

Eating at Bakawarai was the highlight of our trip! Small restaurant so it may be hard to get in. Great service, staff was friendly and made the meal so fun!!! We will be back!

The most entertaining Izakaya in Tokyo! The atmosphere is cosy and friendly. The staff is young, welcoming and fun. And the food is great. This is not a spot for some fast grub, it's too fun and entertaining for that. When we arrived at our reserved spot, we were welcomed with a warm, handwritten message (written in Dutch!). There was no English menu available, but the staff can speak English and asked is what kinds of foods we liked and did not like and created a menu for us. Tompei-Yaki (Japanese rolled omelet) is their specialty. An egg with a cute face drawn on it and my name written on it was placed on my table. This egg will be used for the Tompei-Yaki. The cook will invite you to stand behind the counter and roll the omelet yourself, while the crowd in the Izakaya will cheer for you for every time you roll the omelet. Eating at Bakawarai truly was an unforgettable experience during our holiday in Tokyo!

If you're ever in Japan, you better make the effort to check this place out in the Kichijoji area! It's so fun & entertaining to watch & interact with the chefs as they make your mouth watering bar snacks! Kanpai!

You HAVE to go here when visiting Japan. We went all around Japan and I'd have to say that the staff here has been the friendliest and most accommodating. The food was superb. Make sure to ask for the yakitori with their secret sauce.

I had our concierge call to make us reservations. He was told no foreign guest reservations!!!! WTF?
