The 23 Best Vietnamese Restaurants in Little Saigon, Orange County | Eater LA

"Bake and Che opened in Westminster in 2023. Facing Bolsa Avenue, the small storefront is located across the plaza from longtime neighborhood darling Thach Che Hien Khanh. But at Bake and Che, owner Co Huong brings a modern take to the classic Vietnamese dessert experience. The glass counter showcases each dessert: banh bo with palm sugar, banh khoai with cassava, and banh dau xanh with mung beans. Each dessert is displayed similarly to sweets in a candy store — boxes come preassembled with a house-selected assortment or ordered as individual items. The popular flan cheesecake combines a delicate flan with a fluffy cheesecake base (it often sells out). The soy milk pudding drink combines sweetened coconut with soy milk laden with custardy silky tofu." - Jenn Tanaka

Google
I had a great experience relaxing outside and eating my Vietnamese dessert while catching up with my siblings, cousin, and longtime friend. This is a very nice place for Asians to meet up and explore the Asian town here. I would definitely come back!

Google

Google
Yummy che/ vietnamese dessert. I lovr their durian pandan jelly square. I dont know what it is really called but it is good. I haven't had anything there i dont like

Google
Our friends and we were here ordered 3 house specials. Right after we ordered this place is packed and we know why. Their fruits are fresh, their jellies are vibrant flavors and their sweetness is to the par.

Google
Bake& Che is one of my favorite spots for Vietnamese desserts. Every single Che and/or dessert we've tried has been consistently delicious perfectly balanced in sweetness, fresh ingredients, and so many great textures and flavors in each cup. The restaurant itself is super clean and well-maintained. There’s a ton of seating available. Parking is also a breeze - there’s always plenty of space, which is a rare and a welcome bonus. Everyone is always so friendly, polite, and helpful. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area or even making a trip just for this place. It’s worth it! Great for a casual treat, a date night, or bringing friends and family to share a variety of desserts. We’ll definitely keep coming back for more Che!

Google
While their pastries were dry and crackery, their tiny little flan was charged at a whooping price of $6.5. Hoping it was just a one-off, I tried the rest of the desserts only to find the same issue: dry, and lacking flavor. Needless to say, this place completely missed the mark.

Google
Tried the c1 and c2, pandan jelly. It was good. C1 is a little on the sweeter side if you don't like a lot of sugar, get half sweet. The worker did ask me if I wanted regular or half sweet, and I chose regular just to try and it was a little sweet for me. The c2 was slightly sweet so it was fine. Pandan jelly was good.

Google
This is my favorite place for avocado dessert. I don’t think there is another place that makes better avocado dessert. The quality has been very consistent since day one. I do believe that the owner really cares about quality. today the cashier Hai helped me prepare my order and he was very nice. All the staff here are nice and friendly.

Yelp
Great place for a refreshing dessert, I had the house special (hold the Dorian) lol It was delicious, I'll definitely be coming back Oh I almost forgot to mention, Yumi was very friendly and welcoming Great staff Good job guys

Yelp
I came back after a long time away. For some reason, it was uber sweet. Service is slow but it's because they're sooooo pack. Still trying to figure out what the hype is all about. I don't think I'd come back for a while. The only good thing about this place is it's open late. But if you're in the area that's not past 8, I'd probably go to a different che place.
google avatar

Romuel Dave C.

Yelp
Been meaning to come here since they've been popping up on my IG feed. Was in the area, and needed Che. For those that don't know, its the Vietnamese version of Halo Halo (Filipino). Just a variety of fruits, beans, and jellies mixed with milk and ice. My friend and I got the Combo and the Avocado. Both were delicious. The lady who took our order was very nice and pointed out their popular flavors, so we settle don those two. Man! That Dac Biet had some strong durian flavors. I loved it, but it was over powering for my friend. In a compromise, I let her finish the Avocado, while I finished the Dac Biet. Inside is clean and bright with many tables to sit. They had other desserts there I would like to try next time, so you'll know we'll be back.
google avatar

Kumbi V.

Yelp
First timer. Love the Christmas decor and music here. The place felt cozy. I tried c2 and also tried the durian squares. I ordered c2 with half sweetness and it was the perfect amount. The drink is served with a spoon and has a lot of different textures and flavors. I would order next time without ice because it got in the way of every bite

Yelp
Conveniently located next to Oc & Lau so you can put your name on the waitlist and then head over here for a pre-meal bite. I took my parents here who love Che and they both really liked this spot so a win in my book. We ordered the avocado and house special. The avocado had plenty of avocado in it which was a plus and the house special had all the jelly and bean fixings. Both were not too sweet either. A unique dessert for some but is a must try!
google avatar

Calena A.

Yelp
This location is in a busy plaza so parking can be challenging at times. I treat this location more as to-go than a sit down cafe, although there is plenty of seating. Service is speedy as most items are already packaged. I got the C2 che thai and pandan coconut jelly cups. The staff will even put the ice on the side if you're doing to-go, to prevent the dessert from getting watery. The flavors are very good and sweetness is just right. The pandan coconut jelly is my favorite
google avatar

Quan D.

Yelp
Cool spot! Clean and chic! Always wants to try this place out. The Che Thai is overall pretty good! Not overly sweet. Tried the one with the durian and it was delish. Not too over powering if you know what I mean. Their flan cheesecake was also good and unique. Place can get busy but it's conveniently next to OC Lau which is a plus.
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
This was my first time having che and it didn't disappoint! The che Thai had a lot of fun toppings and really hit the spot, without being too sweet. The longan aloe vera dessert was super refreshing and was a nice one to chair with the che thai. Make sure to also grab some cakes to try for later if you're too full! The palm sugar was my favorite. Just FYI it gets pretty crowded so seating isn't guaranteed.
google avatar

Catherine Z.

Yelp
To go'ed the house special drink (came with durian, peanuts, jellies, jackfruit, etc) and the Pandan coconut jelly! Absolutely delicious. Loved the durian that came with the drink (optional for those who do not like durian). The jelly was also perfectly sweet and natural tasting (not artificial). Will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Omg what an amazing treat. The avocado Che is to die for. The coconut blast is coconut in every bite and the house special is totally special!! I seriously recommend this place and commend them on bringing Vietnamese deserts to the forefront. Bravo!
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
We LOVE the taro and palm sugar honeycomb rice cakes. They are so good! The Vietnamese dessert drinks are not too sweet and absolutely hit the spot during this Summer heatwave. Service here is excellent. Very helpful and patient with questions. Since we don't live in the OC, we are very happy that Bake & Che opened up a location closer to us in Rosemead (Los Angeles County). We are fans of Bake & Che! Parking in a busy mini-mall plaza. Credit and Cash accepted.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place for a late night dessert place! Amazing customer service from Christine. The drinks are not too sweet and super flavorful.

Yelp
*SignatureFlan Cheesecake was delicious! The consistency was creamy on top and had a sponge cake crust on bottom. The *C7 Avocado Che Bo that had huge chunks of avocado. Delightfully sweet and refreshing that is dessert but feels like I am being healthy because of the avocados. The girl at the front counter was kind and helped me choose the items. Place is clean. Indoor seating with restrooms inside. Great place to hangout. Parking lot was slightly crowded, but we found parking easily. I am excited to go again!

Yelp
I like Bake & Che for what it is: unassumingly delicious che and classic Viet desserts! My favorite eats is definitely the palm sugar cake due to its fun muffin top but the rest delicious as well! I especially appreciate the clean presentation of their boxed "mix & match" to-go options which I've opted into plenty of times for office potlucks. As for the drinks, I enjoyed the House Special (mmmm durian!) and Coconut Smash despite there being Sonic-like chunks of ice mixed in. I try to make it a point to go here whenever my bf gets a haircut in the area because Irvine is clearly devoid of delicious che-like activity. However, it's getting to a point where the line is starting to feel ridiculous to stand in and seating, though generally plentiful, feels like a bit of a fight. So if you're willing to put up with the crowds - especially with Oc & Lau next door clogging up the parking - then I'd say this place worth the visit! (Also I don't agree with other yelpers that the Westminster location parking lot is any better because the shared supermarket in that plaza brings a fresh layer of hell worth avoiding.)

Yelp
it was my first time trying bake & che as someone who loves che and grew up eating it often, and the items i tried were so good! i got the avocado che, which was super creamy from the avocado and not too sweet when eaten together with all the jellies and milk. i finished it pretty fast because of how good it was hehe. i also tried the flandan cheesecake, which has two layers with cheesecake on the bottom and a pandan flavored flan on top, and it was also pretty good and not too sweet. i would say that when eating the flan alone, the pandan flavor is prominent, but it can get masked by the cheesecake when eaten together. i didnt catch the cashier's name, but she was super sweet and patient when explaining the different items to my mom, and she switched back and forth between viet and english for easy understanding. i also liked how she checked whether or not we wanted to eat the items now or later since that would determine if they'd put ice directly in the che or on the side. the store itself was very clean and had a lot of seating. there were also cups of water available to drink while you wait for your order to come out. the wait itself for the items wasn't long either (~5 mins). the parking lot can get crowded at times, but i didnt have any problems finding parking on a saturday afternoon.

Yelp
Best desert. Everything is tasty and good. Cashier Christine is the best. Everyone is very fast and attentive.

Yelp
Bake and Che deserves all the hype. Their che and baked goods are delicious. I love my traditional Che from Che Hien Khanh but Bake & Che is an amazing modern Che place. My favorite items are the avocado and the tofu pudding. I come here with my mom and she is absolutely addicted to the smashed coconut. All the flavors and textures are on point. The Che is light, refreshing, and not too sweet. My perfect dinner is going to Oc & Lau next door then Bake & Che. I'd highly recommend checking out Bake & Che!

Yelp
came here couple times because I can't resist a good dessert! This time around I was able to enjoy it with a good friend of mine and we had a blast. Surprisingly, it's quiet full for a weekday. People keep coming in and the plaza offers tons of good food, so it's understandable that people want to enjoy yummy che to end the day. The che came out pretty quick and you can customize the order as well as adjusting the sugar level! Parking is plenty in the plaza but it depends how busy the plaza is.
google avatar

Angel L.

Yelp
You know it's good when the elders are lining up to try this place. I had to go for their most recommended item on the menu, the avocado che! I recommend giving it a really good mix because the avocado puree is all the way in the bottom, when mixed it is a super creamy dessert. There are chunks of avocado and other yummy things as well. I've tried a lot of Che places and this one is definitely up there. Also the cashier was so nice and friendly, always a plus at any food place!
google avatar

Yelp
Their chè is unbeatable, but the most impressive thing is their service. Christine provided excellent customer service on 11/17/25 at ~8pm. She was super friendly, nice, and welcoming. Not only good customer service, but also the space at this new location bring me back more often compared to the first location. I really appreciate Christine's friendly service and I hope she can be recognized for her great work. Keep it up!

Yelp
Our go-to ches are the Pandan Grass Jelly and the Premium Soy Pudding. We've gotten them at various levels of sweetness (regular, half, and none), and each time they satisfy our craving for a creamy, tropical dessert. I also appreciate how the ice can be "on the side." Smashed Coconut, Avocado, House Special, and Thai Dessert are also good, but we much prefer the grass jelly and soy pudding ones. I've tried the Premium Green Thai Tea, and it was just ok, though I wouldn't get it again. We weren't huge fans of the round jellies, maybe because of the firm texture that didn't really taste like much besides gelatin? The baked goodies are much better in my opinion; the flavors are detectable, and they're pleasantly sweetened. The soft and spongy palm sugar one is my favorite. Parking is limited in this corner plaza, but at least the line isn't as long as Westminster's (except when there's a promo). There's more seating with clean tables inside this one, too. Service is quick (except when there's a promo), and everything is packaged well.

Yelp
Skip this location. The Westminster location is better. Ordered online for pick-up since we know how much busy it gets. We got the Che Ba Mau and the Pandan Jelly Che. Adjusted the Pandan Jelly Che to be less sweet too. Upon arrival, parking was terrible. Hubby actually dropped me off at the front and circled the lot while I ran in to pick-up. Our order was a few minutes behind but not unreasonable. Our desserts were okay. Hubby felt his didn't taste too fresh. It felt like the cup was prepped early morning and was left out all day. The toppings and different beans clustered together and didn't break apart right. As for my cup of pandan jelly, it had NO sweetness. It was bland and tasteless. I was pretty disappointed. Overall very okay experience here. We prefer the Westminster location. Their che tastes fresher and they don't mess up our preferred sweetness.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Maybe I'm not familiar with Che but everyone of these desserts that I have gotten before at any other store was made with coconut milk. I now see most of the ones here including the pandan grass jelly Che is made with regular non dairy milk. It feels like it does not have flavor and I definitely would not get it again as the coconut flavor is one of my favorite aspects of the dessert, so this is essentially just milk with toppings. I think other people might like that style but it's too bland to me. I did get a flan here once and recall that was very tasty so I know they have some good options! Gets really busy most nights so may need to wait.

Yelp
Very authentic Vietnamese dessert spot that has refreshing che and yummy treats to bring you back to Vietnam! I got their: 1) B2 Banh Da Lon (BDL - Pandan Layers with Mung Bean): This was such a cheap treat at ~$1.80 and satisfied my sweet tooth. This is made with pandan (green) which has a subtle, aromatic sweetness and a hint of vanilla with coconut flavors. The mung bean (yellow) layers were a nutty, sweet, and mildly earthy flavor. It supposedly has a small hint of durian inside too. Combined together it made the perfect chewy, sweet treat. It's a combination of jelly like and bean like texture! 2) C1 DB (House Special Che): This is their house special che that is layered with sweet red beans, white beans, mung beans, pandan jelly, fresh jackfruit, palm seeds, taro paste, durian, in their coconut milk with peanuts on top! This is definitely on the sweeter side but they add ice which balances out after it melts a bit. The different textures of the soft sweet beans and paste goes so well with the chewy jellies and fresh jackfruit. I really enjoyed their che here and would want to come back to try their others! Next time, I do want to get their che less sweet since it was a bit too sweet for my liking.
google avatar

Nadiyah S.

Yelp
If you haven't had Che which is a delicious mixture of coconut milk, pandan jelly, beans/bean paste and ice you should give it a try. It's essentially dessert soup. I really liked the flavors and Bake & Che but my biggest ding is the size of the ice, they're pretty big and not fun to crunch on. I'm used to the ice in Che being like a shaved small pebble size which makes it easy and refreshing to eat. Also, the beans they used weren't my favorite, I prefer mung beans. We got the #1 which has ube and durian and the #3 which is your typical 3 color Che. The line here is long but it moves fast. They offer other desserts as well. Che is a great treat on a hot day. I love that there is a shop dedicated to it.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
I got the C4 Pandan Grass Jelly dessert. It came out pretty quick. It was my first time having this and it was good. It wasn't too sweet and there is pandan and grass jelly inside. I would come back to try out other desserts. Nice spot for hang out or quick dessert pick up!
google avatar

Audrey L.

Yelp
Cute little spot. Nice decor. Super friendly service. And delicious house special dessert/drink. I asked for 50% sweet and it was perfect. I also asked for ice on the side so I could take it home without watering down the flavor. Btw this one also has durian in it. It smelled and had a slight durian taste. There were so many other flavors it had to compete with but they were complimentary so it worked out totally fine.

Yelp
Located off the Brookhurst before Garden Grove Bl. In Garden Grove. The parking is shared with all the business in the plaza and it gets packed when the businesses are at their peak times like lunch and dinner times. The place is not huge but has some tables and seating. The disappointment of this place is that they run out of their bakery items by 11am which is not acceptable for a place that is opened till 10:30pm I arrived arrived around 7pm so I guess that's on me but still to not have any items accept for one jelly something I dunno. Luckily the dessert I got C5 the Longan Aloe Vera wasn't sold out but she told me it was one that sells out as well. It was pretty good. Overall not bad but I wish they had their bakery items still available to try.
google avatar

Vanessa T.

Yelp
Got the Chè Dac Biet! It comes with coconut milk, jellies, durian and mixed beans. I love that you can customize the level of sugar. I found less sweet is perfect for me. The wait can be pretty long, I waited 10 or so minutes for my order after having already waited a few minutes to order. The place I can get load and busy in the middle of the day. There is a fair amount of seating too.
google avatar

Nanci H.

Yelp
I love Vietnamese desserts! We decided to go here after lunch one day. The line was crazy long, but from what I hear, it always is, but the line moves quickly. I got their new grass jelly che, and we also tried the house che. The grass jelly one was just okay. The house one is good! This has now become one of my favorite che places to go! I definitely will be back to try the other flavors!
google avatar

Helen D.

Yelp
Stopped to try some Vietnamese treats. Got a 4 pack filled with cassava, mung bean, taro & pandas layers. They were not too sweet which I liked. Everything was tasty.
google avatar

Azurine C.

Yelp
First time here and the desserts were super unique! I got the mung bean bake and avocado dessert. The mung bean cake was very dense, but it tasted great when it was heated up and it's a snack that you can save for later if you don't finish it. The avocado dessert was good as well. I will say the avocado was very overpowering and there are actual slices of avocado in there. It did taste really good when mixed with the coconut milk! I will definitely have to come bake and try other dessert flavors. Service is great, the staff know exactly what to do and they even encourage you to leave reviews if you like the desserts. It's a pretty small shop so definitely go on their off times so you don't have to wait in line for a long time.
google avatar

Samantha T.

Yelp
I was looking for a sweet treat and wanted to try something new and my friend suggested bake and Che! Me and my boyfriend split the pandan Che and it was really good, I plan to come back to try everything else they have to offe
google avatar

Katherine H.

Yelp
100% must try. I was recommended this place and I will continue to recommend this place to anyone I know visiting westminster or around the area. The soy pudding is so addicting as much as the avocado dessert. It is refreshing for a long day of roaming and a good break in the day. The place offers a good amount of seating and the ambiance is nice and bright, clean, and cute. Employees are very helpful and nice.
google avatar

Krystle G.

Yelp
The Che Thai with Taro and Young Coconut is my go-to order at this Vietnamese Dessert Shop. I'm not a fan of beans and so this dessert is my favorite. Every item in it, just adds to the overall amazing taste of this, especially on a hot day. It has: Jackfruit, Longan Fruit, Palm Fruit, Coconut Gel, Pomegranate Seeds, and their house special milk. Then I add Taro and Young Coconut and it reminds of a Filipino-Vietnamese Halo Halo :) I love how the staff puts ice on the side whenever you are taking this for to-go. Lines can be long, but service is generally quick. Thank you Bake & Che!
google avatar

MyChi N.

Yelp
Lowkey, I'm obsessed with this place--mainly because I love all Vietnamese chè so much. They make it really well here, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The beans and jellies blend together beautifully. Honestly, it's like crack in a cup for me. I've tried almost everything on the Che menu except for their avocado and the Logan one. So far, the only disappointing chè was the regular pandan grass jelly--it felt bland compared to the others. But aside from that, I've loved everything, even their baked goods. The only downside (and the reason I dock a star) is that whenever I come in the evening, they're usually sold out of baked items and jelly cups. To get them, I have to come early in the morning or afternoon.

Yelp
Really liked this place. Tien was very friendly, gave great recommendations and service

Yelp
Spacious 2nd location of Bake n Che, in Garden Grove. You can order online and pick up Ice will be put in separate bag ( for faster service). Have tried their pastries before and they all fresh and tasty. A little bit sweet for my but, Banh Bo is #1. I was mostly impressed with chè Bơ. Avocado pudding desserts. Generous portion and you can adjust the sweet level. I like to add extra pomegranate seeds, for extra crunchy. Their Che Thai and Che Ba Mau are pretty good as well. Flan cheesecake: Oh wow! This dessert js hard to bake and they nailed it, nice presentation and the flan is rich and creamy. You can tell that they choose high quality ingredients. Employees: they works fast and friendly. Apparently they have a system here that trained employees to handle busy days.
google avatar

AnneMarie N.

Yelp
The green Thai tea here is amazing, but it's crazy that I'm paying $6 for a cup that's 90% ice. I shouldn't be done with my drink in under five minutes. this is everytime i come here.
google avatar

Reyna A.

Yelp
I had seen an article in Westways Magazine a couple weeks ago with a photo of this restaurant and dessert so I was pleasantly surprised when I happened across the store by chance on the way to meeting a friend for pho in the same plaza. We decided to stop in for dessert after having pho for lunch a few doors down. Ordered the house special and was very delighted by the mix of flavors. Service was fast and friendly. Very clean and brightly lit space with plenty of seating.

Yelp
Great selection of Che (Vietnamese desserts) and all made fresh in house. Although their desserts are mostly traditional Vietnamese dishes, they have good descriptions of each item to help if you are not familiar with them, The service is nice and friendly. It's impressive how they serve the baked desserts and drinks consistently and able to maintain the quality and taste. Since we drive 45 to 60 minutes to this location, we usually order a few drinks to take home and they do a great job of packing the ice separately so you can enjoy it later time. Definitely recommend! Great after dinner treat for the family and kiddies.

Hoang V.

Yelp
Great dessert in a good location. It's a nice place to gather friends. Customer service is excellent
google avatar

Hanna Y.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place and it didn't disappoint! Parking depends on if it's a busy time. I came on a Saturday during lunch so parking was PACKED! It is in a plaza with a lot of other different businesses. There was a kiosk to order from but wasn't working at the time I came in so we ordered at the counter. The girl was nice. You can adjust sweetness and if you want the ice separate. There are a few tables outside and outside. I got the 3 color and it was so good! It had red/white/ mung bean, tapioca, and pandan jelly. I loved the different textures and it was a refreshing treat to have. I would love to come again if I am in the area!
google avatar

Pauline T.

Yelp
Came here after dinner to get some desserts. Tried their new aloe vera and Logan drink. It's refreshing but definitely interesting as the aloe vera was a bit tart Got their tofu and that was good

Yelp
I ordered online for their BOGO house special promotion around 12:15 PM. The website estimated a wait time of over 250 minutes, but I received a text at 12:40 PM saying the order was ready. I called to ask if I could pick it up later, and the staff said it was fine. I arrived at 4:15 PM after work, and the restaurant was extremely packed and seemed disorganized, with staff running around trying to manage the chaos. Many customers were also waiting for their orders despite having received pickup texts. One server even mentioned they lost track of orders due to the overwhelming volume and were remaking them one by one. I finally got my order at 4:50 PM. As for the food--it was okay. Not bad, but I wouldn't say it was worth $7 at full price without the deal.
google avatar

Yelp
Line moved fast. Ordered and was able to snag a table. Flan Cheesecake: 3/5 can't even taste any cheesecake. Flan part was decent. Che 3 mau: 4/5 good che.

Yelp
My first time trying Vietnamese desserts! I've been really curious about trying it for a while and i felt like this place was intimidating since it had english translations. It also listed all the ingredients in the descriptions. The place itself was very clean and they had music playing. We decided to get the Thai desserts and Avocado. Both desserts were very good. I loved all the mixed jellies in the thai dessert. I felt like in the beginning it was really sweet so I asked the worker for more ice and it made it better. The avocado was also really good and creamy. We also got the Durian layered jelly. I honestly didn't think it smell too strong. But I also feel like it had a slight savory taste? Overall the flavor and texture were good.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
We got the 5 cake sampler and I really liked the cassava and the durian pandan layer cake. All were really tasty. The perfect amount of sweetness and chewiness.
