‘Great American Baking Show’ Hosts Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry Say the Gig Is as Awkward as It Looks | Eater

"On the show's filming set, hosts encountered a high-pressure, time-crunched environment where celebrity contestants tackled challenges like making fruit coulis, choux pastry, and intricately decorated cakes. The judges — Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith — projected a regal but friendly presence that put visitors at ease, even as hosts felt awkward interrupting bakers mid-scramble. The production was notable for animal intrusions: insects (described variously as bumblebees or wasps) were zapped by a device — with Paul taking particular relish in doing so — and about fifty rabbits would emerge around the site each afternoon. Hosts were allowed to sample many of the finished bakes after the judges (one host estimated trying roughly 60 percent), and everyone emphasized the bakers’ precision, scientific approach, and artistry under pressure." - Amy McCarthy

I tried the cinnamon bun, banana pudding, and Arabic leche. Wow! Each one was a delicious surprise! The cinnamon bun came highly recommended by the other customers, and it must be served warm. It was flaky and buttery, with crisp edges coated in cinnamon sugar. The banana pudding tasted homemade in the best way. Classic and comforting, it had a unique flavor that I still can’t quite identify, but it was creamy, rich, and layered with generous amounts of fresh bananas. This was the STAR! The Arabic leche (similar to Tres Leche). The staff told me it’s their #1 seller, and I understand why! It was a beautiful surprise. Light, airy, and perfectly soaked. The rose petals and hint of pistachio added a delicate flavor that made it feel special, like something you'd serve for a special occasion.

Google
This bakery lives in my head rent free. I am not exaggerating when I say I think about their iced pistachio latte on a near daily basis. The cheesy mushroom danish (picture incl) is a 10. The strawberry cloud latte is delicious too. I come back every weekend I can to check out Fatima’s newest recipes. She made a shakshuka danish that was out of this world. I recommend this place to all my friends and family!

The owner is super kind, very welcoming, and proud of her shop. I love tiramisu, so whenever I see some it’s a must to try. Usually I’m disappointed and it’s not even real tiramisu. This was not the case here, it was amazing, The espresso, the salty tangy cream, with the cocoa powder just perfection. I tried it the first time yesterday, and had to go back for another today.

Google
Fatima, the owner, is always so sweet with customers. She works hard and loves what she does. The food offered generally rotates, with some staple menu items. Everything I've tried so far is delicious! I especially love the Dubai chocolate bars

Google
I look forward to visiting again in the future, as much for the Arabic-flavor-infused baked goods as the iced refreshers. Very welcoming from the moment you step inside, as everyone's addressed as “my love” by the owner. For the leche cake, my first impression was saltiness! I am admittedly sensitive to salt, but rather than turn me off, it led to an interesting sweet–savory balance that kept me taking that next bite. The cake rested in a layer of milk, and heavy whipped cream adorned the milk-soaked white cake's top. The crushed pistachio nuts provide the cake with an appealing crunch, and the petals yielded a fun chew. It's Vimto Time" had an excellent mix of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors, with bubbly water livening it all up. Gorgeous color, too. Mild spice and pumpkin flavors for the pumpkin caramel cake, but the shortening-based frosting and caramel sauce yielded tons of tangy flavor.

Google
I just had the blueberry cheesecake danish and I'm in shock. That was really good. I also got the biscoff pleasure hot. It's really good. Would love to try it iced next time.

Google
We went to try the pastries. I really wanted to try the baklava croissant and the cookie dough croissant. Both tasted fresh and flaky. Will definitely go back to try the many different cupcakes. I also got a coffee.

Google
Tried the Biscoff Cookie Tiramisu & it was good! Initially thought it was a bit expensive at $7.50 per slice (I know, I know, what isn’t nowadays) but the portion was generous so the price was worth it. Pro tip: chill in freezer for maybe 15 minutes vs eating from fridge. Recently tried the Dubai croissant which has a kunefe filling inside. We don’t love it as much as the Dubai chocolate but still worth a try.

Yelp
Let me start this by saying every single person working in this shop that we have encountered has been beyond fantastic. Friendly, helpful and you can see they love what they do. That right there is enough for me to return. Bake it Up is our new go to for cakes or a little treat your self stop. So far we've tried the corn flake cookie which, I'm not exaggerating when I say was the best cookie I have ever had in my life. The cinnamon croissants and the Biscoff latte. All delicious. Coffee was very sweet though so if you don't like it that way I'd adjust the sweetness level. I decided the day of my birthday to try and get a cake and they had 3 flavors available in the case. We went with the Chocolate Matilda, and yes, it was as amazing as it sounds. Iconic. I cannot wait to try more. Bake It Up is a must visit while in CV.

Yelp
We ordered a bunch of things to try here, and really enjoyed the Arabic Leche Cake (delicate, not too sweet, addictive!), Orange Olive Oil Cake (moist, dense, and light flavor). I also loved the Dubai chocolate pistachio latte!! We also tried the sour cream coffee cake and Dubai croissant. The coffee cake was a little bit dry. The Dubai croissant was pricey, but worth a try especially if you're splitting it with a bunch of people. Service was friendly! Will be back again if ever in the area.

Yelp
Almond croissant and yemeni latte were both fab! The owner was super friendly and parking was plenty. We'll be back!

Yelp
So I want to highlight how pleasant is was to talk to Fatima. She has a lovely personality. So welcoming, so real and just a sweet lady. Her service is welcoming and a delight to meet her. For the food, we ordered some drinks which were both delicious and then ordered a few items. Purchased 6 cupcakes, the olive oil slice of cake, I think, which was hella good, her recommendation to train it cuz I wanted the apple crisp coffee. Also purchased 5 cookies the brown butter, oatmeal raisin.

Yelp
I was in a pinch and needed a Red Velvet cake for my granddaughters 7th birthday per her request. I personally am not a fan of Red Velvet cake but.... This one was really delicious! The cake was not too sweet and you could taste the butter in the frosting.. if it was not butter I was fooled then. I was the one who did the writing on the cake so you must disregard the appearance lol. The ladies behind the counter were extremely nice and took pride in their bakery. It was very clean. I will definitely go back and try one of their specialty coffees and another tasty treat. And I will sit outside at one of their tables and relax while I indulge!

Yelp
I have been in search of a cookie croissant in the Bay area. Last time I had one was in S. California, Corona Del Mar. I was so excited when I found Bake It Up with different types of croissants. Good coffee. We tried their cookie croissant honey lavender and biscoff pleasure. Also, I got a breakfast sandwich that was very filling. For croissant, of course, I got the cookie one and baklava. I will definitely come back to try their other sweets like cupcakes, slice of cake and more bakery goodness. Also, I need to go back to try their Dubai croissant. The place is tiny inside with no place to seat except for outside. Good for to go only. Service was fast. Not a long wait even though they were kinda busy when I came in at 10:15 am. A great bakery addition to Castro Valley.

Yelp
I came close to closing and they were sold out of a lot of things by then. Decided to try the Birthday Cupcake and it was good. Cupcake itself was very moist and delicious, but the frosting was a bit thick and could have been a little sweeter. Still good and I'd come back again to try some of the other options.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Fatima was so sweet. I wish the frosting was a bit softer as the almond coconut raspberry cupcake was hard to enjoy with the coconut oil stiffening the cream. The croissant was good, but I wish she told me there was almond oil in it since it was a bit strong.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute little bakery. The owner is the sweetest everytime we go she is so welcoming. Our favorite is the biscoff tiramisu. It is is must try!
google avatar

Homer S.

Yelp
The Biscoff Tiramisu is amazing. I also had their coffee Americano. There is seating outside if you want to eat what you purchased. I think the owner served me and she was really friendly and nice.

Yelp
Loved the breakfast sandwich and carrot cake that I have tried. Haven't loved their coffee drinks as much and they don't yet have an açaí bowl. Great service and I am always kindly welcomed in their space.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by after lunch hoping to grab some pastries and check out this place since it opened (kind of) recently. We were greeted by a super sweet worker and welcomed with the cutest decor. The space is a bit small, but it just feels so friendly inside! There were cakes and pastries on display and even though we stopped by for snacks, we realized that they have a pretty solid drink menu too! I ordered four croissants to-go: baklava, cookie, almond, and spinach artichoke. They were all really good! If they're not warm, I'd suggest toasting them or heating them up before eating. The sweet croissants were really sweet but tasted great and incorporated their flavors well. I didn't order drinks this time around but I definitely want to come back to try some of their coffees and cookies!

Yelp
Glad we have various bakeries to choose from in Castro Valley & Bake It Up definitely is a treat! As you enter you are greeted with such variety it is hard to choose & with the small entry space & ordering counter it can get a little cramped. So it would be wise to know what you want. Order: Spinach Artichoke Croissant $6.25 loaded with plenty of spinach & artichoke filling. Each bite tastes just as good as the last with a perfect combination of creaminess to salt & heat from the jalapeño, that you keep coming back for more. Arabic Chai 16 oz.$5.50 Yemen tea, evaporated milk, cardamom spice & sugar was a nice change instead of drinking coffee. An aromatic brew of tea that had the perfect hint of spice to sugar ratio. Happy to have visited & will be Back soon!

Yelp
I have been looking forward to trying this new bakery in Castro Valley - happy to say I would be happy to go here again! Their cakes look amazing in the display case! I will have to try it on mt next visit. On this visit, I had a pumpkin french toast casserole and my husband had an almond croissant. The pumpkin frencg toast was very decadent-basically like a pumpkin bread pudding. My husband originally wanted a crookie but they were all sold out - bummer, maybe next time. In addition to the sweets, I also got myself an Arabic chai-it was pretty yummy, the cardamom flavor really stood out. The bakery itself is very tiny, so not so much a hang out spot, although they do have a couple small outdoor tables on the sidewalk so you could have a little coffee date if the tables aren't taken up!

Yelp
Discovered this new bakery in our area and wanted to try it out. We came in on a Saturday morning for breakfast for a light coffee and pastry family outing treat. When you walk in it is very warm and welcoming. And the fall decor made it extra festive. The upbeat music boosted my mood immediately. They had a small menu offering fall flavored drinks and coffees with pumpkin, chai flavors as well of course. Typically I like to try to be a little adventurous and order unique flavors and this bakery shop definitely provides that. I think the owners might be Middle Eastern, many flavors I don't typically see i.e. cardamom , pistachio etc. We were very excited to try all these new flavors! I ordered a pistachio latte which I have never seen before or tried anywhere else. The pistachio cream at the bottom is soooo yummy. No additional sweetener added. And the layers of coffee and milk and green pistachio cream on bottom is very pretty and aesthetic and all the more appetizing. My husband ordered the cardamom roll. He loves anything cardamom. I also ordered the trendy cookie croissant and the leche cake. The leche cake, was also beautiful with the little purple dried petals and the sprinkles of pistachio on top really opens your eyes to feast. It is in between, less sweet than American sweetness but also not too light when it comes to asian bakery sweetness - like right in the middle. Was very tasty! We sat outside, the store has 4 tiny tables and chairs- cafe style. And the weather was already 70-80 degrees this early morning, pretty hot at 10 am but perfect for al fresco dining. Love this new little bakery . Would love to come back to try some more of their unique bakes goods.

Yelp
So delish, friendly service. Never have i been disappointed in their items. HALAL too. Such a vibe, outdoor seating.

Yelp
Lovely little place. Creative flavor combinations. Friendly staff. Brought a big smile to my wife's face when I brought home treats! My wife had the chocolate chip cookie croissant, but she would neither share with me or allow a photo before diving in. I'm assuming it was tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Loving this local bakery, owner is Yemen, very sweet lady! They have a variety of coffees and pastries to choose from. Turkish Coffee, Yemen coffee, pumpkin latte etc!

Yelp
I've been meaning to stop by and try this place out since I saw that they opened, and finally found the time this morning. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived, and they were super friendly and patient while I read through the coffee menu. I decided on a Biscoff Latte, and was happy that they asked me whether I wanted it sweetened or not. I'm not a big fan of super sweet things, so I asked them for it to be lightly sweetened. It came out piping hot, and when it had cooled just a little, I was very pleasantly surprised (because I'm picky, lol). It was delicious, and lightly sweetened as ordered - perfect for me! The Biscoff cookie flavor was really tasty (almost a bit of caramel and spice if you're not familiar) - it went really well with the espresso. Highly recommend! I also got cupcakes to surprise the kiddos with after dinner - we tried out chocolate, Oreo, vanilla, and red velvet. The kiddos liked the chocolate and Oreo, and so far I have tried the vanilla. It had a grown-up salty-sweet thing going on - also not overly sweet at all. Loved it! I didn't have enough room for the red velvet, but it's in a Tupperware in the fridge for tomorrow! Everything looked amazing, so I also ordered a croissant for my son's after school snack, and a baklava croissant for my husband and I to split for breakfast. They asked if I wanted the croissant warmed up, but since both were for a bit later I declined. After finishing my coffee at home, I had half of the baklava croissant for my breakfast. It was packed with delicious nutty filling, and the outside of the croissant was almost caramelized with the syrup. This was such a unique croissant, and so incredibly good. Must try! (My husband also thoroughly enjoyed the other half after lunch). Oh, and my son said his plain croissant was "ok," as he ate every bite, and asked what other kinds of croissants they had available (a rave review from a middle school boy, lol!). He's excited to try the cookie croissant next time. The owner was really sweet. The staff were so helpful. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Happened to stop by on their 1year anniversary! They had a cute table outside with samples, music, and games. Ordered the strawberry matcha which was yummy. The sample of strawberry cake was delicious. I bought some cookie croissants and was offered to have them warmed. I skipped that since I was ordering them for someone else as a gift but will definitely need to return to try some croissants for myself. Love the variety of unique options. Parking was easy.
google avatar

Veronica O.

Yelp
Service was amazing, the owner was incredibly welcoming and cheerful! On top of great service, the coffee and pastries were top tier. Definitely recommend going and trying the iced boss lady drink. Will definitely be coming back when passing through Castro Valley!

Yelp
I have been waiting for this place to open as I always see it from my nail place and it did not disappoint!!! I tried 3 of their desserts, the tiramisu, Arabic leche and biscoff tiramisu. The biscoff tiramisu is by far my favorite although all of them were really good. The Arabic leche is so moist and if you like cardamom and rose the flavors are incredible! I also tried their Yemeni latte and it's so good. They make it fresh and it takes a few minutes but so worth the wait! The owner and team was so sweet and you can tell she takes such pride in her products and bakery. Highly recommend checking them out!! Such a cute spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Grand opening of Bake It Up Bakery in Castro Valley formerly Karin Johnson's Bakery in the Lucky's Shopping Center along Redwood Road and Castro Valley Boulevard Fatima Mohamed, the owner and founder of Bake It Up, is a self-taught baker who was born and raised in Oakland started at the local Farmers Market and now has her own brick-and-mortar. Sampling of Arab bread, honeycomb bread (Khaliat nahal) stuffed with cheese and their popular carrot cake...bought some Yemeni Chai and it's creamy with (as mentioned) condensed milk and aromatic spices of cardamon, cinnamon clove. I thought it was more evaporated milk so will have to ask the owner next time. :) Everything tasted was yummy but 4 stars for now until I can fully try their baked goods...offering Middle Eastern and American desserts. I can see this business develop a following with their delicious treats Plenty of lot parking but can get busy during peak lunch time.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place out, but I was so disappointed. First, the service was very slow, very, very slow. customer service was great, but you have to wait. Now, The cupcakes are not good at all. Not worth the money safely. The croissant is delicious!
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
I can't remember how I found this place but I remember thinking it was a new bakery that I hadn't seen before. I was pretty stuffed already after coming from lunch but I still had to grab the first thing that caught my eye, which was the baklava croissant. I asked staff if there was also filling since it was hard to see in the display, and they confirmed that there was. So I was super excited to get it and try. And honestly, I'm so sad I only got one because it was delicious! And fairly affordable too (less than $5, I think). The croissant was fluffy and baked well and topped with crushed pistachios. The best, of course, was the filling. I don't know the exact ingredients but it was sweet, nutty, and spiced goodness. I warmed it up before trying it as well, which made the filling stand out. There are other baked goods and desserts as well but I've got my eyes on that baklava croissant now.

Jan F.

Yelp
First let me say, the owner is lovely. Always happy, very warm and welcoming. Today I purchased a piece of apple cake, foccicia bread, coffee latte and a delicious spinach artichoke croissant. Everything was wonderful! If you haven't been, you should check it out. It's not a large bakery with tons of options, but the selection of baked goods they do offer, are definitely delicious! The coffee is really great quality as well. It's a great place to stop and grab a qiuck cup. They make a diverse variety, definitely something for everyone. For the real coffee lover to the fufu dessert coffee drinker.
google avatar

Alyssa R.

Yelp
Came here for a coffee pick me on my way home. It was my first time visiting and the employee was nice and kind. She recommended their best seller which was the pistachio latte (which you can get hot or iced). They don't serve coconut like, so I opted for the oat milk. The bakery also had a nice selection of seasonal drink and pastries along with their regular menu. Next time I will try the food!
google avatar

Bob K.

Yelp
Friends brought over two helpings of two different desserts for dinner the other night, and told us the story of this bakery, making waves in the mighty Valley of Castro. One was a tira misu cake, the other...wasn't. Ok, I forget was it was, but look at the pictures. Large portions, incredible flavor and texture. We held on to half the desserts in the fridge for four days, to serve to another friend, and both remaining portions were undiminished.

Alma M.

Yelp
The place is tiny but so full of love and good food! I got the Yemeni latte, a shakshuka croissant (only available on the weekends), and biscoff tiramisu. The owner was sweet enough to throw in a pastry for free. She was incredibly hospitable and kind, chatting with customers while we waited. I'll happily be back soon
google avatar

Katherine L.

Yelp
Had a great experience in the bakery itself seeing so many women employees at a women owned shop. The people we encountered were friendly and outgoing. The baklava croissant and almond croissant we had were quite too sweet for our liking however the baklava croissant was filled with lots of ground pistachios which was delicious. The cookie Biscoff cookie tiramisu was also sweet but went well with some coffee. The texture was pretty good, not too soggy, and the cream tasted good. My pistachio latte was semi sweet but off-set by the strong coffee. The coffee reminded me of turkish coffee due to the dark and strong flavor.

Yelp
The grand opening on 8/17/24 was very demure, very classy, very cutsie. I give this bakery a 9/10. The staff were booked and busy, super nice and the desserts and food looked absolutely delicious. I purchased the focaccia bread with jalapeño, feta cheese, tomato sauce the gluten free chocolate chip cookie and the tiramisu. All food items taste amazing, flavorful, moist and fresh. I will most definitely be back very soon.

Holly A.

Yelp
I just so happen to be in town and have been wanting to check this place out for a while (I'm from the bay, but moved to Las Vegas a few years ago) and it was worth waiting for! Walking into the place felt warm and cozy. You can tell she had regulars there because of the playful conversation (not to mention she said she would be back the very next day. It was open). Very friendly and so much to choose from. I went with the Dubai chocolate croissant and it was everything I wanted and more! I don't drink coffee so I got a peach refresher and that was absolutely delicious. As a woman mixed with Yemeni, it brings my heart so much joy to see a Yemeni woman open up such a thriving business. I highly recommend that everyone comes in and enjoys a sweet treat with even sweeter ownership. I will be making it a point to come back the next time I drive out here.

Yelp
The sweets are sweet, obviously! Everything was so fresh and yummy!! The service is amazing! I met the owner Fatima! She was so welcoming and just a boss! You can tell she was proud of her business and I see why. This bakery is so cuteeeee stop by and support a small business. This place destroys crumble.

Yelp
Such a gem! I had the pistachio latte, a breakfast sandwich, and an almond croissant--everything was delicious. The latte was so flavorful, and the croissant was perfectly flaky. The woman who helped me was incredibly kind and made the visit even better. Great food, amazing service--definitely coming back!

Yelp
A new bakery just opened up in one of my favorite shopping strip malls! Upon walking by, I noticed their door was open slightly after closing hours, but they said they'd still sell what's on display, just no espresso drinks. One of her previous customers was raving about their chocolate cake, called The chocolate Matilda. I just had to try it, and it was indeed delicious. I'll have to come back to try their Arabic chai.

Yvonne H.

Yelp
First time here we absolutely enjoyed everything we got! Every item was really unique and well decorated. You can tell it was made with love and passion. The owner (assuming) was so welcoming and friendly. She even gifted my son a free cupcake too! So glad we found this hidden gem. Cookie Croissant Jalapeño Cheddar Focasia Arabic Leche Biscoff Tiramisu Tiramisu Arabic Chai Pistachio Latte

Yelp
Definitely my new bakery! Fatima and Hannah were so welcoming and awesome. I bought 5 slices of cake, took them home, ate bites from each of them, and just kept smiling with every bite! Just perfection. Also was blessed with some freshly made Focaccia bread from Fatima and it was GLORIOUS! I'll be back every damn week

Carlyn F.

Yelp
My son asked me to try this place that have him intrigued for days now and I'm so glad I said "yes!". We had Baklava croissants, Iced Pistachio and Iced Bake it up lattes, Arabica leche, and chocolate cake. Everything's soooo amazingly good! We'll be back to try the rest of the goodies.

Edna G.

Yelp
We were looking for coffee for a road trip. Came across Bake It Up in Yelp. The aromas as you walk into the shop were heavenly. We picked up the cookie croissant, chocolate toffee cookie, the biscoff tiramisu and of course the coffee: Samoa Latte. Everything was delicious. The owner Fatima was so kind and friendly. Her other creations looked just as amazing. Support a local business like Bake It Up while enjoying a delicious indulgent.
google avatar

Helena S.

Yelp
We checked out the new bakery to get a dessert for a dinner party we were hosting and selected the chocolate cake. It looked pretty, but unfortunately it was a bust as soon as we started cutting it. The cake was super crumbly and started falling apart as we were cutting and serving. The cake just wasn't very good, not terrible, but not something I would buy again. And it was embarrasing to have served it at our dinner party. A box mix would have been better tasting and more moist. We still had half a cake leftover after the party, but we tossed it because it's not even close to being worth the calories. I have heard good things from friends who have bought other items here, so this bakery is not a complete bust. But please, please change up your chocolate cake recipe!

Yelp
I had this shop on my to try list . I was finally in the neighborhood so we stopped by. I purchased a baklava croissant and cookie croissant. Both were fresh and flaky. The lady helping was friendly and professional. Also got a Yemani coffee

Diana M.

Yelp
This review is for the cupcakes. Hard hard hard frosting , frosting fall apart and not soft at all. We got the carrot cake and the Oreo cupcakes and just felt that it was not fresh. It could have been made same day but the topping is just very very hard , it's like biting into a big lump of older frosting. And the bottom cake part is just ok. Very disappointed as a first purchase. Even my 5 year old son does not appreciate this.

Sarah E.

Yelp
Happened upon this new bakery over the weekend. Went inside to see what it was all about and got a chance to chat with the nice ladies working inside. They have several wonderful looking dessert options! I opted to try something different - the Arabic Leche cake. It was amazing! It had the right amount of sweetness with cardamom and other spices. The piece was easily shareable - I got 3 servings out of it! I sampled the baklava as well. Also wonderful with lots of spices! I'd recommend stopping by and supporting this new business!

Abraham G.

Yelp
I visited Bake It Up today and I can confidently say this is one of if not the best bakery I've been to in a long time. When you walk in you're hit with a smell of freshly baked desserts which is always pleasant. They have a nice selection of sweets, drinks and also offer middle eastern flavors which is very unique and flavorful. The decor was set up really well which adds to the experience. I ordered the Arabic Leche, Biscoff Tiramisu Slice, Birthday cup cake, as well as the baklava croissant. Presentation as well as taste was easily a 10/10 for me. The biscoff tiramisu was easily my favorite of the bunch. The Arabic leche was amazing and the presentation was very aesthetically pleasing with the dried petals on top. Service was amazing and quick! Took only a few minutes from when I ordered to get my food. I'll definitely be coming back here with my family/friends. I highly recommend this spot if you're in the area or close by!

Yelp
I found my new favorite cafe! The menu is creative and executed perfectly. I really enjoyed the iced baklava latte and chocolate chip cookie. Service was great and the owner is so sweet & welcoming. I can't wait to come back and try more items.

Yelp
This cute little spot just opened up about a week ago. We stopped by after having brunch at Doug's and wanted to pick up a celebratory item for my husband's birthday. We ordered two slices of strawberry shortcake, a brown butter chocolate chip cookie, and a chocolate banana bread. Everything was really good and the service is excellent. The woman at the front register was kind enough to explain everything they had and also described which items did/didn't have peanuts since our little one has an allergy.

Yelp
I discovered this business at the Hayward Farmers Market many years ago. Their treats were the only reason my son would wake early on a Saturday! He likes snacks. The owner started referring to him as her "little taster", and our fate was sealed. We were hooked! Now that there is a brick and mortar storefront, I encourage you all to run...not walk...to explore the daily offerings. We have tried everything on the menu that did not have nuts...and have never been disappointed. The Biscoff Tiramasu, Red Velvet cupcakes, cheesecake, and chocolate cake are all worth the drive to Castro Valley, and the battle in the parking lot! Oh, and the tea is good too! GO! NOW!
