The customer service is excellent here, which means a LOT to me! The cake that we ordered was excellent TOO :-) ! I also bought a lemon-poppy seed loaf and it was moist and tasty. I am very happy with my overall experience with this bakery and happy that it is a "healthier choice" for me and my family. Thank you!

Google
We got a gluten free unicorn cake for my daughter’s 7th birthday today. Her little sister has anaphylactic allergies to eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, sunflower, and sesame. We also avoid gluten. This was her first time ever having a non homemade cake for this reason. She was so excited, it was beautiful and delicious, and her little sister was able to eat it with no problems at all! Thank you!!

Google
Bake Station provides delicious and tasty cakes with good baking texture. The cakes could use less sugar, and it would also be nice if they can add more variety of egg-free products.

Google
We got a birthday cake from them for my sister’s 50th birthday. It was enjoyed by all! Ordered over the phone, it was ready when promised. We’ll be back! Thanks so much

Google
Great bakery with delicious breads and cakes. The 7 layer cake is awesome. They do custom cakes too. The entire bakery is nut and dairy free.

Alexa Strand

Google
I cried in this nut free bakery. I didn’t have to ask them what ingredients they use. It was 100% safe for me with my nut allergies. They even have cannolis! Kayla helped me pick out nearly a million cookies and was so sweet and understanding of my tears. The quality and flavors are out of this world, the Twix cookie is to die for!! The mini tea cookies with sprinkles melt in your mouth. The pricing is amazing as well, I figured they would be more expensive as they are dairy and nut free but I spent what feels like nothing for so many things!! I cannot wait until my next visit!

James Hogan

Google
All of the cakes are dairy free and they also have a small selection of gluten free items. Everything I have tried so far is tasty and has good texture. Our new spot for that occasional sugary treat.

Google
This place is incredible. After being dairy free for 6 + years, finding this place has filled some incredible cravings I never thought I'd eat again. Donuts, cakes, cookies, they have it all and you'd never know anything was dairy free.

Yelp
As someone who has been going to bake station since allergies entered their life, I have always found the service in the food to be consistent. What I mean by that is that the majority of things I've had from bake station knock it out of the park. they are flavorful. They are delicious and they are moist. My favorites include eclairs for myself, donuts for my kiddos seven layer case for the holidays and challah-anytime any place. I've always on the staff to be helpful and courteous-they are helpful without being overly pushy, and you know every item.. it is well lit and makes good use of it. Space it is easy to navigate.

Yelp
Sadly we spent $60 on a cake that was completely raw on the inside. When I called to let them know, they were very rude and said I needed proof and that it was up to the owner to decide what to do. I would like to support a local business and tried to give them a chance to make it right but after many days of not receiving a call back, very disappointing customer service and we will never go back.

Yelp
My first experiences here was a few years ago and I loved it. This recent visit was less desirable. There was a person or two being serviced. I patiently waited my turn which was great. It gave me a chance to peruse the delicacies. The weren't too many as it was later in the day around noonish so most of the favorite were already gone. In the meantime another patron or two comes in while the others leave out. Both of the new patrons were asked if the could be serviced. One noticed my confusion and said "I'll wait, this lady was here before me". I thanked the person for acknowledging my existence. My mind was telling me to just leave. But, I decided to be gracious to the person that acknowledged me by following through with my order. I ordered the brownie sundae and donuts. The brownie special was dense and super sweet with little chocolate taste in the brownie portion. The gauche drizzle was the best part however, it was sooo pretty. It took me three days to work through 1/2 of it. My husband polished it off one night. He told me the next morning he had had a sugar festival last night. I had no idea what he meant until he said he eaten the rest of my brownie. The donuts were ok but it's like something was missing. The donut taste. But I can saying they were light and fluffy.

Yelp
Good version of the Bake Station this Yelper used to frequent on Southfield Rd., a bit closer to home. For those in search of kosher baked goods, the selection is plentiful, and the counter employees courteous. Prices are what one would expect. Not many options for kosher baked goods (outside of Entenmanns, which is hard to find these days), and made-on-premises is generally preferable. So, for those looking for a bakery with a hechscher on the west side, this is a good choice.

Roxanne K.

Yelp
I just bought the bumpy cake for my husband's birthday. Everyone in the family loved it! This cake has now been requested for all birthdays and holidays. It is so wonderful to have a bakery that is tree nut free.

Giselle S.

Yelp
One of the bake station workers, Ryan, is very kind and helpful. Very good place to stop at.

Yelp
Wanted to do an egg free cake for my daughter's birthday because of her allergies and wanted a nice Disney theme cake and I was recommended to this place , boy they did not disappoint. The service I received was top-notch, ordering the cake and picking up the cake truly went above and beyond, and are super friendly. I'll definitely be ordering my daughter's birthday cake next year from this place in years to come. They also have a wide variety of delicious desserts, I recommend trying their cannolis.

Linda R.

Yelp
OK legit. The baked goods are insane!! Always have a good experience there. Never disappointed with the treats. Great selection. Super nice staff.

Sarah R.

Yelp
I stopped in today to pick up a few things for a client. I was having a bad day and was craving something sweet and love frosting. The woman behind the counter recommended the strawberry shortcake parfait. She told me it was her favorite. She was so sweet, kind, and patient with me as I asked her about numerous items in the case. I was skeptical but decided on the parfait for myself and bought several items for my client. My client said everything was delicious! I then tried the parfait on my home... it was absolutely incredible! I cannot thank her enough for this recommendation! I'll be back to get another one very soon! This staff member behind the counter was a kind, helpful, courteous and friendly woman. I hope her employer knows how terrific she is! Thank you. Oh, and the best part was that because I have a Bake Station punchcard, my treat was free! Thank you Bake Station!

Vicki G.

Yelp
The baked goods look beautiful, but are stale. Was there Friday. HORRIBLE!!! All of my guests complained. I gladly told them where NOT to go!!

Kelly S.

Yelp
Not surprised by the negative reviews re: both the customer service and the baked goods. When the owner is rude she sets an example to her staff to be rude. As for the baked goods most everything looks great on the shelf but when it come to quality and taste the items fall short. Chocolate should taste like chocolate and not sugar and wax. I have had been whipped cream from a can of Reddi Wip! So why the snobbery and high prices when the baked goods aren't pristine and lack quality?

Heather B.

Yelp
The cake looked awesome! I love that I just gave Bake Station Too the theme and didn't choose an actual decoration. She created the prefect cake and my niece loved it! The cake was moist and tasted great as well. Everyone asked where it came from. I was very pleased! The buttercream was delicious and not too sweet. Most importantly, I didn't realize they close at 3pm. I got there at 3:01 and the door was already locked and lights were out. I freaked out cause I was picking up the cake for my niece's 6th birthday party. I saw a shadow in the backroom and sure enough the woman was about to walk out. She had her purse on and keys in hand when she came over tit he door. She still opened the door and allowed me to ask about the cake. She ended up letting me in. After I paid for the cake she had to re close her register. I felt so bad that she went through so much trouble but was so report be driving away with this beauty, tasty cake. I can not thank you enough for your exceptional, over the top customer service!!

Dylan G.

Yelp
The Superman cookies are incredible. The staff here is always friends and offers quick service. This is a great shop whether you need your food to be kosher or not.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this bakery. I called to order a gluten free allergen friendly cake on Monday. Gave details that it needed to be a plain white cake nothing on it. Went into get the cake and they gave it to another person. I was completely dismissed by staff who barely glanced my way to try and help solve the issue. The guy behind the counter tried to get me to take the other parties cake that had food dye in it when I explained that my daughter had a food allergy to this he didn't care. How do you not check the writing on the name of the cakes? The other person's order was blue frosting, with flowers all over it. It takes pretty stupid people to give away an entirely wrong cake. I ended up take the crappy premade cupcakes in the fridge. They tasted like crap so I threw them in the garbage. Big thumbs down and a negative for the owner not calling me to offer an apology or offer to help come up with a solution. Go elsewhere if you need a cake with allergen specific stuff. Kim tried to make it right bless her heart, but the guy working with her could have given a crap.

Yelp
I've been shopping around at different bakeries for birthday cakes for a couple of years now since my household is gluten and dairy-free. I finally tried Bake Station Too for the first time a few days ago for my daughters birthday cake and I was very impressed with their cake! I got half chocolate, half vanilla. The chocolate flavor was especially delicious and moist which surprised me for a dairy AND gluten free cake. Other gluten free cakes that I've tried in the past at other bakeries have always been dry and a little spongey but I didn't feel this way with Bake Station Too! All of our party guests were complimenting the flavor of the cake. Very happy with my purchase and will be using this bakery for future occasions as well!

Erin M.

Yelp
Yikes. We came in and bought a variety of treats, and EVERYTHING we purchased was disappointing. The cookies were super dry, lacked flavor, and tasted really "fatty" (like it leaves a film on the roof of your mouth). The cupcakes were terrible- think generic grocery store cupcakes. I give them 1 star purely for offering special dietary options, but honestly people are better off making them at home because what they offer here simply isn't worth it.

Catherine S.

Yelp
Thank you, thank you, thank you for being an entire peanut and tree nut free bakery!!!! You just gave my son one of the best days of his life! This was the first time ever in his life he was able to pick treats from a bakery due to his food allergy. We bought donuts and an array of cookies and they were delicious! The donuts were moist and fresh. The chocolate chip cookies were soft and chewy and so good! They also gave us quite a few samples of cookies while we were there and that was such a special treat!!! There was a great variety of sweets to choose from...brownies, fruit tarts, cakes and breads.

Teresa N.

Yelp
I'm officially done with making any kind of cake ever again. In the last 2 weeks I've had the most amazing cakes from this fantastic bakery! I've had a lot of expensive cakes from many notable bakeries in my life, but nothing compares to these moist and delectable beauties! I had no idea this bakery even existed until 2 years ago. What a find! Keep these great desserts coming and I also love all of the breads. If you call in advance they will make special pies!

Monica B.

Yelp
The selection here is phenomenal! Did I want to eat everything? Yes, absolutely. But I bought the seven layer cake and it was divine. The service was prompt and courteous, and the prices are very reasonable. I'll be coming back here for sure.

Debbie R.

Yelp
So thrilled to find a nut-free AND sesame-free bakery! We loved the rye bread, challah, babka, 7 layer cake, and some other round chocolate dessert (not sure what it's called). Only two wishes: I wish the rye was bigger so I could make a bigger sandwich on it. And I wish the 7 layer cake was a tad less sweet. Otherwise very happy with our purchases and we will be back next time we're in town. Staff was very friendly and our custom order was just what we expected. Thanks!

Harby B.

Yelp
Can I give negative five stars? We ordered a egg free cake for our daughters 1 st birthday a month ago which happens to be on a weekend. They call us on Friday 1:30 that they made it with eggs. OK can you fix it? Nope everyone has left and the owner is on Vacation... Sorry So now we have no cake for our daughters 1st B day, Its 1:30 But they refuse to offer any help to fix this problem

Liz S.

Yelp
We love Bake Station Too! They are so friendly, the food is delicious, and they are always prompt with their orders.

ArTal K.

Yelp
Baked goods are "ok" but when you have to have nut-free, it's a great local option. The two stars mostly reflect the lack of service, I have stopped in and ordered cakes as well as buying items from the bakery cases and I've never felt the staff was friendly or happy to be working at this bakery. It's almost like you are bothering them by ordering. In my opinion, this is usually most reflective of their management and not feeling valued as an employee... hopefully they can work on this!

Sarah H.

Yelp
I stopped in here one day on a whim after visiting Sunrise Cafe next door. Their bread is very fresh, we picked up a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread that our girls devoured and some cookies to share at work. Lots of variety in the cases with things looking delicious. I'll definitely go back to try more things soon!

Natasha P.

Yelp
I stopped in on a whim on Tuesday. It being Fat Tuesday, there were tons on Paczki in the display shelves. I'm not very big on bakeries, I love pastries and cakes, but try not to go into a bakery, because I invariably try to buy one of everything. The main thing that bothered me about Bake Station Too, was that there were no labels or prices for any of their pastries and cookies, so I had to ask the lady behind the counter what this was, and what that was. I wanted to get to know what everything was before I decided what to buy, but people started queuing up behind me, so I just bought a few of things and left. Their paczkis were the best item I bought, especially the caramel one. I also bought a 7 layer chocolate pastry, which had barely any chocolate at all, and a bumpy, which was chocolate cake with whipped cream on top, dipped in a hard chocolate shell. I could have made that at home. All in all, I was pretty disappointed. I might go back and buy a loaf of bread one day, but I'm not going back for their pastries.

Katie M.

Yelp
The 7 layer cake I ate at every bar mitzvah growing up can be found here. I wasn't really looking for it, I just stopped in after brunching at Sunrise, and there, before my eyes was that most amazing sight... 7 layers of vanilla cake and butter cream frosting, thinly and delicately placed on top of one another, topped with a fudgey chocolaty frosting crust... heaven! It was just as I remembered it! They even offer two other non-traditional flavors. Also got a loaf of challah which was nothing special, and a sprinkle cookie (which my kid did not finish, tells me it was not that great). The ladies working were nice, but was surprised to see a $10 minimum card charge.

Lacy D.

Yelp
My son has food allergies so I was incredibly excited to learn about this bakery. I ordered his birthday cake and asked for a special theme. I was very specific with what I asked for and provided a couple pictures from the book to help the designer understand my "vision". The cake was adorable! She did a fantastic job, and the cake was delicious as well! I found everyone to be so very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to try more of the breads and baked goods, everything looked so good!

Lindy B.

Yelp
I had so much fun visiting this place with my one year old!! He has a peanut allergy and we've been told it's not safe for him to eat at bakeries, so this place was SO exciting to find. Everything I tried (an apple fritter, a custard donut, and strawberry shortcake) was seriously AMAZING. The people who helped us out were friendly, helpful, and polite. They were sweet with my little guy and gave him a free little cookie to munch on while we decided what to order! I have to admit, it would be helpful if things in the bakery window were labeled. But that's not a big deal--it was easy to ask what various items were. It's AWESOME to find a place where, as he grows up, my little one will be able to pick out whatever he wants. I have no idea how they managed to make such a delicious whipped cream-type frosting without dairy, but they did it well :) I brought home a custard-filled donut for my dad, who had no idea it was dairy free. He was shocked to find out when I brought it up the next day. Said it was delicious and he never would've guessed. There's not much seating--it's more of a grab-and-go place. But there's a nice 4-person table and also two comfy chairs! I love the warm, community feel. There's also a corner with a few bins of toys and (if I remember correctly) a little chalkboard/easel. Thank you guys so much for welcoming us in :) We'll be back whenever we're in the Detroit area!

Jenna H.

Yelp
I love this place! The staff are very attentive and friendly! I love the fact that they cater to people with allergies and it tastes so good! My favorite donuts in town! Always fresh and tasty! Id definitely recommend! You guys are awesome!!!

Sarah P.

Yelp
We just moved to the area and we love this place. Great bread and sweets! If you haven't tried it you should.

Stacy B.

Yelp
Bake station too is actually a Kosher bakery. But that's not why I go there. Being Kosher, it is also a nut-free bakery. As far as I know, there are only two of them in Michigan: Bake Station and Bake Station, Too. If you are dealing with peanut or nut allergies, this place is a Godsend. Now, they don't have quite the amount of items available of some larger bakeries and some of the flavors may not be as perfect as items from other bakeries (they are also milk-free, so that does alter the flavors). But if you're like me...the mom to a three year old with a nut allergy, the fact that I can take my kiddo to a bakery for a fancy cupcake or donut is priceless. Prices are not posted, but this tends to be the kind of place that caters to regular clientelle...who pretty much know what the prices are and/or don't really care. I leave there with bags and bags of pastries, donuts, cookies, onion rolls, hamburger buns, cake slices etc.,to freeze, and always spend between $20-30, so I feel they are more than reasonably priced. I absolutely love this place!

Susan M.

Yelp
If you are OK with spending a lot of money on a special occasion cake to have it looked like they ran out of ideas or decorations this may be the place for you. We spent $60 for a full sheet cake that is the thickness of a brownie not a cake. It was decorated with 2 little plastic things on top (which look VERY small) and some writing. The only effort put into it what so ever was a basic outline of the edge of the cake. When I called to provide feedback the only solution they offered was to review the order for another cake I had ordered for the next week. Needless to say I cancelled that order. I have had their cakes and they taste good enough, but they are sadly deficient in the details. You could probably do better making it yourself.

Roman K.

Yelp
Amazing store! Sales people are enthusiastic and helpful.Place is very clean! All pastries are yummy! I love this place.

David G.

Yelp
We bought a full sheet for our son's birthday party, spending a substantial amount (over $70!) of money. My wife was very specific regarding the colors of the cake and the writing. After picking it up on the day of the party, my wife realized they had used the wrong colors for a large part of the writing. We called immediately and we were told the cake decorator was not in that day (Sunday). After consulting with the owner next day, the bakery employee offered us a 15% discount on our next full sheet cake. Gee, thanks. Asked to be contacted directly by owner...still waiting for that phone call.

Susan G.

Yelp
My son considers this heaven on earth! Thank you for being nut free, what a blessing! Get the 7 layer cake!!

Christina J.

Yelp
Went on a cookie run to perk up some over-worked colleagues. This bakery doesn't use dairy (i.e. butter), they use shortening instead. I'd never had anything from here but didn't want to buy one, taste it, and walk out if I didn't like it. I should have. I bought a dozen cookies and then drove to McDonald's to get "back up" cookies. So glad I did. We all eagerly dug in to the bakery cookies. Took a bite and threw them out. It's not that they are stale, old, over- or under-cooked, etc. They just taste bad. They're soft but because there is no butter they kind of crumble instead of hold up when you take a bite. If you're in the area and craving a cookie, try Micki D's instead.

Julia K.

Yelp
We love this place! For kids with allergies to nuts, and possibly dairy,it's a godsend. Everybody is always super-nice,too,excellent customer service. And,their poppy seed loaf is without peer :-) !!!

M M.

Yelp
Without question the best bakery in the area. The Challah is the best I have ever had and the pastries are phenomenal. All that plus friendly staff and you really do have the sweet place there is!!
