"This restaurant in Lomas is an in-the-know power meal destination. It’s classy yet laid-back, slightly corporate even, with white tablecloths, cozy low ceilings, and blue velvet chairs. So it’s no surprise that the weekday lunch hour is typically filled with locals in Patagonia vests and Swiss watches, planning weekend trips to their homes in Valle de Bravo. Coincidentally, a Valle de Bravo farm is where Bakéa grows most of the vegetables that are used in the fancy-fussy Basque, French, and Mexican fusion dishes full of delicate flavors, like the shrimp and scallops with perfectly al dente linguini and the famous glazed pork belly with curried garbanzos and cilantro. You might even catch the founder-chef, who’s been here almost every day for the past 25 years, in action, whipping up delicious poached eggs with foie gras, avocado, and truffle vinegar." - guillaume guevara

Google
Bakea, a French cuisine restaurant, right in Lomas de Chapultepec won’t disappoint. It’s unpretentious facade hides a carefully crafted menu with a mix of flavors that elevate the most simple salad...who would think that a beet root salad could be exquisite? Portions are reasonable, for a French restaurant. Freshly baked bread and desserts, attentive staff and a good selection of wines complement the experience. Highly recommend their chocolate lava cake, intense in a perfect way for chocolate lovers.

Unique dishes with combinations hard to find anywhere in Mexico City. And considering the legendary food scene of this city, that’s saying something. Cozy location with a caring staff that makes you feel at home and eating in the kitchen of the chef itself. It’s easy to understand why it’s on what World’s 50 Best Discoveries list.

Google
Came here for the foie gras (which is very hard to find in CDMX, especially one that's cooked right) and were not disappointed. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked/seasoned. Service was fast and very attentive. Great spot for a date or a nice dinner.

Excellent service with a complete and varied wine card. Portobello is delicious as a starter and for a main course the Short Rib was enjoyable with a pleasant texture but the Lamb certainly gets the crown, it was exquisite. Definitely a gratifying experience, very recommendable.

Yelp
Sigh, I really wanted to love this restaurant. I had chosen it because chef Vicente Etchegaray was highlighted in the 50 Best Discovery list for his Mexican-Basque fusion. We had high expectations. Overall the dishes were just too rich for us. Lots of cream and oil. Each dish was very tasty, and the ingredients were of very high quality, but the overall meal lacked balance. Also we did not find that the dishes were particularly Mexican or Basque -- more Parisian. (Google does identify it as French.) Our choices might have been better if we had advice from an English-speaking server, but our (very friendly and competent) server and we were just getting by with his modest English and our modest Spanish. All of the other diners appeared to be locals. The restaurant appears to cater to wealthy patrons, perhaps from the neighborhoods nearby.

Yelp
There are hipper hotter restaurants in Mexico, but if you don't want to chance the food or service, take those important somebodies here. Its not always perfect, but it never critically disappoints. Its an institution, and one look at the quality of patrons proves it. Don't miss the portobello carpaccio as appetizer, and get a soufflé for desert. The wine list could use some help, its thinned out and doubled in price over the past year, so don't go on a budget!
