Find Dalgona Candy From Netflix ‘Squid Game’ at O’Cafe, a New Cafe in Novi | Eater Detroit

"Opened in spring 2021 by Heather Kim, this Novi café specializes in coffee, pastries, and cakes commonly found in South Korea and brings Korean street and bakery trends to its menu. After the Netflix drama Squid Game increased interest in the nostalgic candy, dalgona was added — though the owner had already been using the brittle in a dalgona latte and a dalgona boba latte — and is sold for $2.99; customers who successfully remove the stamped shape without breaking the candy can post it on Instagram to receive a free coffee. Despite the dalgona buzz, the biggest draw is the croffle, described as a trendy golden hybrid of croissant and truffles, offered in original, mochi, and cream cheese flavors; the shop notes croffles haven’t reached the same level of trendiness locally as they have in New York." - Monica Williams

Wow! My family brought home some cookies and tea cakes from this place and it was such a refreshing change from the usual cloyingly sweet, oily pastries you get at most places. Had a sample of the pistachio rose tea cake, another tea cake with a nice cardamom flavor (don't know the name), and a butterscotch cookie. Sugar and flavors were balanced so well and I could tell that they are made of high quality ingredients. The cookies have a delightful soft yet firm bite to them. If you haven't visited BakeCurry Cafe yet, you don't know what you are missing! Too bad they don't ship their products.

Very cute little place. They make fresh items everyday. Tried so many of things from here and everything was fantastic. I recommend sandwiches, buns, cheesecakes. Fall special Cinnamon swirl is a must try!

My husband found this gem of a place and I’m so glad he did! What caught his attention was their egg-free treats! Perfect for our son who has food allergies! Loved my drink and bakery items I got when I dined in! I see they also do custom cakes… I will be looking into the future for my kids’ birthdays!

The croissants are amazing! They are always filled with the unique and delicious flavors. They’re soft but also crispy on the outside. I seriously feel like I’ve gone to Italy.

Wow!! Last week, I ordered variety of sweet treats for gifting my kids school teachers and all the teachers loved them and appreciated the unique flavors. BakeCurry did an amazing job packaging the treats in beautiful goodie bags. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for giving unique gifts this holiday season. Thankyou BakeCurry 😊

Our school PFO (Gallimore in Canton)treated us to choose 2 items from the Bakecurry menu. I got the garlic bun and Hodduck Croffle. They also threw in a surprise bag of what I call "bits". Let me explain what I received. You hear garlic bun and think savory...nope. I was a delightful bread bun (about the size of a bao bun) stuffed with a sweet cream cheese and sprinkled with cooked garlic. Now I know you're thinking, garlic? Yes garlic, but it was sweet and tender and not at all like garlic. The Hodduck croffle was a croissant stuffed with cinnamon sugar and nuts and then crisped up in a waffle iron. It was amazing. Now the surprise add on item, what I lovingly call the "bag of bits", was I'm guessing pieces of the croffle that were trimmed off or didn't fit fully or just cut up croffle and put into a bag. These were fantastic little bite sized bits that are totally addicting and if not already, should definitely be on the menu. My suggestion, RUN, don't walk, to try this delicious place!

This bakery and coffee shop is a true gem! I've been here a few times now, and I'm always impressed by the quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere. The desserts are absolutely incredible - they're all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the flavors are unique and creative. I've tried the velvet cookie, the chocolate-covered pretzels, and the macaroons, and they were all amazing. The coffee is also excellent, and they have a great selection of teas as well. The shop itself is small but charming, with plenty of seating inside. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious treat. I highly recommend this bakery and coffee shop to anyone looking for a special treat or a cozy place to hang out.

I found this place by a google search and decided to check them out.And I was very delighted. I had 2 of their croissants, one was parmesan, and tomato. The other one was a ham and cheese, and they both were so flavorful and filling. I also got an iced latte. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend
