Two Peninsula Bakeries, Backhaus and Bakehouse, Are Battling Over Naming Rights in Burlingame | Eater SF

"I found that Bakehouse, the nearly-open bakery component of the new vegan restaurant Twelvemonth, has prompted the dispute over its name; owner Bob Trahan wrote in a now-deleted Instagram comment that the name was inspired by a Michigan deli, and Trahan has since indicated he will make signage less confusing after a trademark lawyer and a cease-and-desist letter from Backhaus became involved." - Paolo Bicchieri

Cute bakery. Food was good and flavorful. Plenty of seating for a quick stop or to have a meal. Hot Chocolate was the only item lacking, it was very watered down. Cookies were big but crunchy. If you prefer a soft cookie I wouldn't recommend them. Cupcakes were moist and flavor was perfect for the description. Staff was attentive, polite, and friendly.

If you like sweet decadent cupcakes, this is the place for you. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I ordered an assortment of mini-cupcakes from chocolate, salted caramel to carrot cake. All were delicious with the perfect blend of moistness and luxurious rich icing. I couldn’t decide which were my favorites because they were all good.

Didn’t know I needed to buy my dog a $3 mini pup-cake until I walked in! Went in to buy a birthday treats and walked out with several things including a dog cupcake! Such a nice space - they could easily expand on their menu and I hope they stick around. Nice staff and experience.

Honestly! The donuts are to die for! I’m in love with the fresh baked old fashioned plain donuts, because they simple do them Better than anywhere I’ve tasted. I love knowing that I don’t have to make a trip to the Cider Mill if I just want a quick outing. Trendy atmosphere, smiling faces, delicious ice cream, and too many delightful pastries to name! I guess you’ll have to try them all! Metered parking! Now serving indoor during COVID-19! Social distanced. Definitely add this to your list of must try desserts for your upcoming outings with friends or family! 5 Stars across the board.

I stopped at Bakehouse 46 to fill my sugar craving and they succeeded! I didn’t try of the donuts, though they look delicious. I got the lemon cheese cake, What’s up Doc with walnuts cupcake, and the raspberry latte cupcake. I will say, the cheesecake has a bit more gelatin texture than most cheesecakes I’ve eaten. It is not creamy and the crust is more like breading than a true crispy crust. This doesn’t make it a less delicious cheesecake for me! :) The interior is very nice and there looks like a cool little hang out area in the back and seating in the front. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back!!

I never liked cupcake station which turned into bakehouse 46. The new incarnation is much improved, the cupcakes are always fresh and the donuts are never laden with grease. The ambiance is much more inviting. A much needed improvement to the bakery scene.
