Bakehouse Review - Old Fort Bay - Nassau - The Infatuation

"We can’t get the bourbon caramel apple pie donuts from Bakehouse out of our minds. This is the newest bakery on the island, but everything we’ve tried from them has been excellent. The recent addition of their ice cream counter, Mudda Freeze, also makes this a pretty solid after-dinner dessert move. Even the savory stuff, like their smoked turkey and pesto sandwiches made on housemade croissants, are great for a quick lunch." - Ashleigh Sean Rolle

I come almost every month to try the seasonal menus and I am always impressed!!!! The pastries are amazing and the owner + the ladies that work here are so kind. There have been a couple times where the owner will send my friends and I home with some freebies of the day (as if I needed another reason to love this place). I am a Frederick local and I am always so excited to send visitors to bakehouse because I think it is a perfect representation of the city I’m proud to live in; good food+ nice people!!!!

While in town a family friend told us this was “the” bakery to try but wanted us to go early as when they seek out the close up. She wasn’t kidding. We got in line at 7:55 am and it took us about 15 minutes to get our order. Worth the wait! Amazing cheese biscuits, decadent and traditional croissants (thumbs up to berry lavender and the everything w cream cheese). The sweet roll w frosting was too sweet for us, and they have cookies and cake too - specials every day. For sure pay a visit! Worth the wait and $. About $5+ per item. Cute white to go boxes too. Staff have their service system down pat!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 12/10, amazing!!! I've been searching for a bakery that makes cruffins and this is the only one within a 60 mile radius of Harrisburg, PA. Drove an hour and a half just to try their cruffins and it was INCREDIBLE. Chocolate caramel toffee was the flavor today and it was perfect and one of the best things I've ever eaten. The chocolate paired with the toffee bits plus the perfectly balanced (and not too sweet) caramel custard filling were incredible. The texture of the cruffin itself was wonderfully crispy but also soft. It was one of those eyes roll back in your head from how good it is type of food experiences. On top of that, the staff was SO kind and helpful and absolutely made my day. The everything croissant with cream cheese savory magic was also phenomenal! We picked up other goodies to sample later, including a coconut cream tart and brownie cheesecake. We loved everything about our visit and can't wait to come back!!

Google
Arrrived around 8:40 and waited about 30 minutes in line. Worth it though. Ordered original croissant, everything croissant, and chocolate toffee Cruffin. First time I’ve ever had a fresh croissant 🥐 so crispy and flaky. The chocolate toffee cruffin was filled with toffee pudding and oh, it was delicious! The tea and coffee is self serve. I got tea. You’re given a tea bag and cup, then you go fill it with hot water and let it steep. They had half and half, 2% and oat milk available, as well as sugar and simple syrup.

Wow! I totally get the hype around this place! Every time we’d go by, there is always a line; sometimes all the way down to the creek. I wouldn’t want to stand in the line so we never tried. Thankfully we stopped by early one day and there wasn’t a line technically out the door, yet. (Still quite a line, starting at the door up to the counter. By the time we left, it was out the door. Took about 20-30 minutes) however it was completely worth the wait!!! Firstly the service is spot on, the people there are very nice. They take their time to explain what they have. Everything is made fresh daily and they have all kinds of different pastries, cakes, cookies, sweet breads. Many they said are seasonal/ are switched out for different ones so you can get different items at different times. The best thing hands down is their croissants- any of them, the almond, chocolate and especially the cruffin! The hot chocolate cruffin was definitely my favorite. It had a cream inside which was so yummy. Nothing was overly sweet. It of course had sugar, but it wasn’t in your face that you can’t eat more than a few bites. You want to eat it all! The savory pastries were super good too - cacio de Pepe pastry, so flaky and cheesy. The prices are absolutely reasonable for such high quality. I don’t think anything is more than 6/7$. I suggest to get many different items to try, you won’t regret it. I will definitely be back. Best pastry shop I’ve ever been to.

Google
Great for so many reasons. The owner is so kind always greeting everyone at the door, and the staff are incredible. They pack all of your baked goods with care, greet you with a smile, and are excited to welcome you back. This was my first visit, but a woman in front of me clearly comes all the time based on the fact that the staff remembered her by name. Just a lovely bakery. Oh- and the food!!! So delicious. I’m not a big croissant person believe it or not, but I got the prosciutto and Gouda croissant and it was delicious. The cinnamon morning bun is great, as is the blueberry lemon scone and chocolate chip cookie. I can’t wait to come back and try more!

Google
Always have to queue unless u get there before 8 am. But worth the wait. The almond croissants are humongous and delicious. Many items sellout by 10.30. 3/13/25 update. Prices rose slightly with inflation. It's still well patronized but there were plenty of pastries at 10 am. I wonder if the shop is managing the supply better or the higher prices is making an impact. The almond croissant are still great and there were many other interesting choices. I look fwd to going there for a quick breakfast!

Google
I always get the gouda and prosciutto croissant and it has never let me down. It is the best bakery I have been to so far. Also you can never go wrong with the cruffin. And the workers are super sweet and attentive. HIGHLY recommend and the earlier you get there the better because they run out QUICK!

Yelp
The staff are truly so kind. I rarely see cardamom treats so I was excited to get their cardamom coffee cake. It was delicious and all the portions are massive! The cinnamon bun was also delicious. They were so kind and threw in some freebies including chocolate chip and pecan cookies, monkey bread, and more cake. FYI: they don't do espresso drinks but still have drip coffee! I will def be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Long line but moved quickly, but excellent treats. I shoes up about an hour and a half after opening and some of the baked goods, including the pear almond honey croissant I saw on the menu, were already sold out for the day. It wasn't my first choice but I got the cardamom crumb cake and it was delicious. It was also enormous and I ate it over three sittings. Got a drip coffee and took my breakfast to go on a lovely stroll along the nearby creek and neighboring park. The staff was friendly and efficient. A local treasure!

Yelp
Amazing baked goods, WOW! You have to arrive early because a lot of items sell out rather quickly, but it was worth the wait on line. The line also moves pretty quickly. They have tons of options to please everyone- including both savory and sweet baked goods- availability based on first come first serve. The staff is also super kind and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their work. I am excited to come back next time I'm in Frederick!

Yelp
I wanted to try a local bake shop in the Frederick area and was pleasantly impressed by the Bakehouse. I got there when they had sold out and the owner was very kind enough to check the back of the house and get some pastries for my sister and I completely free. They all tasted amazing and we will definitely return.

Yelp
Off the chart baked goods - friendly staff. I was also blown away today when the owner came out to talk to the people in line. He said that one item was not available as they did not like how it came out. And that if you had come for that item to tell the staff behind the counter and they would give you a free item or a coupon for that missed item for the future. Amazing move.

Yelp
One Place to Check Off my Foodie Bucket List Among local foodie, this bakery has become legendary. It's been on my "foodie bucket list" for a while. You have to go at the right day, at the right time of day. It has be plan with precision, to achieve baked goods rewards and success, I woke up at 7 AM on Sunday, and phone a greedy little foodie friend, who'd be game. We set out for Frederick, Maryland, the next county over and about an hour away. Parking can be difficult in Historical Frederick but there's a parking garage. Sometimes, if you are blessed you find street parking. Once you arrive, you get on the line that snakes out the door, into the sidewalk. You wait patiently, then it's your turn so be ready with your order. I used my yellow notepad in my iPhone. The menu is posted once a month, plus you may encounter a "special item." My only advice is be ready with the order, arrive early. The baked goods are legit out of this world, I got cruffin, coffee cakes, Gouda and Prosciutto, jalapeño flavored pastries, and the best dessert of them all, strawberry shortcake. The service was excellent, friendly, amazing, quick and fast. The bakery is a beautiful store front that gives the feel of an old house. In my long dessert eating experience, the baked goods were delicious, incredible and sublime. Some real show stoppers. On the side of the building is a commission piece of art of a famed jazz musician, Lester Bowie. I find that art can inspire you to learn about the past and/or a new perspective or culture. All-in-all, it was an excellent way to spend a Sunday.

Yelp
Been here about 5-6 times. First time I came after noon and didn't realize they sell out before then typically. Owner gave me a couple free item coupons to use for a future visit. Been hooked since then. Probably the best bakery I've ever visited. Really friendly staff and prices are very reasonable given that the baked goods are huge. Lines are long so I suggest getting there at least 20 minutes before opening. Street parking outside is easy and free if you park before 9am.

Yelp
Such a great minimalistic store with really nice pastries. There was a good size line that got longer as we waited. The line moved surprisingly slow really with all the food already prepared sitting out front and the amount of staff. Clearly the quickness wasn't an issue by the amount of people willing to wait. The wait lended itself to conversation with strangers which may or may not be by design. The selection was small, not too small, but with a nice variety. We left with wayyyy too much. The scones, the cinnamon popover thing, the croissants, the almond croissant....it all was just a little different than we've had before. Different in a good way too! Not a great selection of beverages but there are some. For us this little unassuming gem was well worth a little the little detour. *****forgot to take photos but these are the items we got and looked just like that!

Yelp
Great!!! Bakehouse is absolutely delicious, beautiful space, and a great team of people delivering excellent service make this place my favorite bakery!

Yelp
I had a sweet coworker stop by bakehouse to buy some pastries for me. She ordered the crème brûlée cruffin and the chocolate croissant. Both were delicious but the cruffin was to die for! The custard was the perfect amount and the sweet sugary outside was delectable. I need to take the hike to Frederick on a weekday to stop by the stop because I can't stop thinking about it.

Yelp
where do I begin? This place is a gem here in Frederick. There's a line always so get there early. Everything ran smoothly, even though there was an extremely long line and excited customers ready to consume the baked goods. it's so quaint and welcoming. The baked goods were out of this world. It truly reminded me of being in Canada and visiting French bakeries. I'm so glad I have a place near home that I can go and get amazing baked items. It's reasonably price for what you get. may find the prices a little bit high but I feel they are moderate for the items being sold. Open until sold out well that doesn't last long. If you're in the mood for fresh because Thursday through Saturday get up early, start the line!

Yelp
The staff is a step above other places in customer care. The kindest people ! Very spacious and beautiful atmosphere! I went to just order three things and she threw in extra freebies, and I just was blown away since she did not need to do that at all! Make sure to bring cash to tip since they don't have a way to take credit card tips!! thank you for the delicious treats, and kin
google avatar

Yelp
Worth the wait so get there early! Check their Facebook page for the monthly selections but the classics are always there (until sold out).

Yelp
Nice "large" shop for a bakery. Very pleasant people that work there. They often have -LONG- lines, even when the weather is cold!! Be prepared to come early and wait perhaps 30 minutes. Good fresh pastries and they are pretty good about posting once they sell out (specifically referencing instagram). Try them out!
google avatar

Yvonne Z.

Yelp
Got here right before they opened, and there was a line already formed. I absolutely love the space. It is filled with plants, greenery , and an amazing baking scent. Every single bite of all of these was amazing and not only that, all of the servers. I will be coming here more often to see the new seasonal choices.

Yelp
So what do you need to know about Bakehouse? Other than the pastries are exceptional, they sell out fast, and the coffee is actually pretty good. Well, here's some other tidbits about this bakery that you might want to know. They're open from Thursday through Sunday from 8 am until 2pm (or until they sell out). It is definitely worth it to follow their Instagram to see their monthly menus as well as finding out if they're sold out if you're heading over there in the morning. Pre-orders are not accepted here but the staff tells me that they generally sell out a baked goods by 10 AM on weekdays at 9 AM on weekends. So the early bird definitely gets the morning bun here! We went on St. Patrick's Day, and ordered an embarrassing amount of pastries . Some of my favorites were the almond croissant, the everything cream croissant, and the monkey bread parentheses which is available after 9:30 AM. I love a good croissant, and the reason why they're so good here is because not only their flaky, but they are jampacked with filling. You don't have to work your way through all that bread to get to that sweet juicy stuff that they put in the middle. The monkey bread was very large in size and it had tons of caramel that had crystallized so it had a really good crunch to it. It was messy to eat, but so very worth it. The staff was friendly, and I especially love that they packed the refrigerated items separately from the items I could sit out on the counter. This is especially helpful when your order was as big as ours and required several boxes. They also have a do it yourself coffee bar. We ordered an iced coffee. They gave us a cup with ice. We went over and filled it up with the iced coffee cream, and they even had simple syrup! After grabbing your coffee, there are several chairs and tables to sit out inside and outside with a doggy water bowl as well. Another noteworthy tip is that they don't except electronic tips on cards. So please be sure to bring cash if you would like to tip the staff. There were lots of families and strollers in this establishment, and I highly recommend if you're an early bird come in here and grabbing a cup of coffee, some pastries, and just hanging out. And it's very close to the trail by the waterfront so if you need to burn some calories, that's there as well after you stuff your face.

Yelp
This amazing pastry shop is worth waiting in line. My friends said I had to try this place out-- apparently they usually sell out! Soo get there early! We didn't follow that advice but happen to luck out in a ton of different ways. 1) We got there about 10am-- a fellow came out and said we only have a few items left... oh shucks. BUT a few people in front of us abandoned the line. #winning 2) By the time we reached the counter, they still had two almond croissants and a regular croissant and some focaccia left over! #winningagain 3) Because they didn't have much left over, they gave us pepperoni focaccia on the house. 4) They had two cinnamon rolls left in the back which were smaller than the others and asked if we wanted to have them... UM YESS PLEASE!!! #winning The staff is super nice and chill. And let me tell you, the buttery and flakey goodness is scrumptious. The crunch is delightful to hear as you sink your teeth in. I would definitely get another almond croissant. The cinnamon roll was so tasty-- the three of us devoured it. Covered in powdery sugar and icing on our fingers, well you can't go wrong! Such wonderful treats! ** All of us lived-- did not go into a sugar coma! Key: share your treats! :)

Yelp
This is by far the best bakery in Fredrick. I have been dying to come here once I saw there is always a line out the door before they even open. I was determined to make it inside without having to wait too long. I finally got my chance and I was soooooo pleased. The inside is beautiful with plants in every window sill and some limited seating if you wanted to dine in. I ordered almond croissants, mini blackberry croissants, sugar bun, and a pecan shortbread cookie. The croissants are the best I've ever had in my life. The flakiness and the butter were just amazing! Every bite was crunchy and oh so delicious. Staff were super friendly and extremely quick service. Heads up if you are going it's best to go early. They open at 8am. I arrived at 7:50am and there was already a line. Took me about 20 minutes to wait and get my order but it was all worth the wait.

Yelp
One of Frederick's wonders not to miss! Artisan, organic, fresh, yummy, creative, and the team is so friendly!

Richard G.

Yelp
I got several to go items and they all were good. Very busy place but the staff was friendly and helpful. They seemed use to the rush and could maintain efficient and courteous service

Yelp
The cutest, yummiest and friendliest little shop! We came in on a Saturday around 11 and a lot was already sold out. We got a few different things to try! We had the pina colada croissant, monkey bread, coffee cake and coffees. The two girls behind the counter were so kind, and helped us decide where to eat and what to do while we were in town. The food was so good. The girl also topped off our coffees as we were leaving. We would def recommend and tell everyone to come EARLY! They def know what they're doing. Everything was so yummy! The shop was neat and tidy! Def worth the 5 stars it has earned.

Yelp
I was so excited to try a few pastries from Bakehouse. I heard great things about the bakery leading up to my recent trip to Maryland. I tried carrot pineapple cake, monkey bread, chocolate cranberry oatmeal cookie and an almond pastry. Oh my! Everything was so delicious! I never eat carrot cake but can say I enjoyed it. It was moist and didn't have an overpowering carrot flavor. The monkey bread was sweet and tasty and the almond pastry was divine. Stop in and give them a try and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
Just always my favorite and first choice. Kindest ownership!! Croissants are first place!!
google avatar

Todd S.

Yelp
Every time I visit Bakehouse I have this thought: That was one of the best things I ever put in my mouth! A must stop for locals, and well worth the drive for non-locals. Get there early because they will sell out.
google avatar

Yelp
Finally able to make it in person- the famous bakery in Frederick, md! Have tried multiple of their stuff from a coworker and was advised to always arrive earlier as their goodies run out pretty quickly. Intended to come in at 8am ofc didn't happen. We got there around 9:30 and probably was just lucky that was only 2-3 groups of ppl in front of us. I was able to get monkey bread (omg yum), focaccia bread, both cinnamon sugar/morning buns, croquet monsieur, prosciutto and Gouda croissant and oh they're all so good. My favorites are croquet monsieur and monkey bread! Yum yum yum! They take your order and they reconfirm prior once they're all boxed up. We took ours to go although there are few seatings available inside. I shall be back!
google avatar

Yelp
As we were walking to breakfast, we passed by the Bakehouse and immediately smelled the amazing pastries being cooked inside, and told ourselves we'd stop by when we walked back. That was the first mistake: because of how good their pastries are, they were almost sold out of everything by noon! I really wanted to try their coffee cake, which looked amazing as I eyed it on our first pass by. But we ended up getting a MASSIVE cinnamon roll that was super flakey and flavorful! It was so hard not to just eat the entire thing in one go! They are only open a select couple of days during the week, so definitely be on the lookout! The ambiance in there was super cute! Definitely a quiet cafe with not many tables, but would be the perfect spot for a morning date! And the service was really friendly: they were giving us recommendations on what was super popular, and what we may like based on what they had available!
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
Bakehouse is seriously one of my favorite places in frederick! They have a delicious selection of monthly rotating pastries and other desserts. However you have to get there early bc they usually sell out around 10am and there is always a line (but it moves quickly). Pro tip: you can usually check their Facebook page to see if they've sold out for the day. I've always loved everything I've gotten but the almost crossiants are a delicious staple! The prices are very fair considering they are baked fresh daily and the portions are HUGE! Even if sweets aren't your thing, they usually have some more savory options such as pepperoni focaccia. There is some seating inside, but i enjoy eating my pastries sitting on one of the many benches along Carroll Creek. Last time I was there, I heard someone inquiring about a custom cake... which im sure would be amazing! I'm going to have to check that out as an option for my next birthday function.

Yelp
I'm going to go against the grain and give 4 stars. I went a couple of weeks ago and ordered several items to try (chocolate croissant, almond croissant, mini blackberry cream cheese croissant, rosemary garlic breadstick twist, cinnamon sugar bun, cardamom coffee cake). Everything looked and tasted great. The croissants, while lovely, didn't have that buttery bite that makes them taste like croissants. To be fair, I didn't order any plain croissants, but I assume the croissant is the same as the filled ones. The coffee cake had no cardamom flavor; it tasted like a coffee cake I can make at home. Of everything I tried, the only thing that would lure me back "just because" (vs. a special occasion) was the cinnamon sugar bun. It was buttery and flaky and phenomenal. The two other people who tested everything agreed. Fast forward to today--I decided to go and just get some of the cinnamon sugar buns. They tasted completely different this time. No buttery flavor, just cinnamon sugar. While it had a nice texture, it wasn't enough for me to order it again. They change their menu monthly (though I don't know how drastically it changes). I'll take a peek at the menu next month, but I don't think this will be a frequent stop for me.

Kelly M.

Yelp
First day I tried to go here the sign said sold out and I can see why. Came back the next day and there was a line out the door but it moved decently fast, maybe 15-20 min. People were leaving with whole boxes and we did the same. The maple pecan roll was incredible and topped mile high with pecans. Also loved the cookie - crispy edges but perfectly chewy and soft on the inside. Shoutout to the worker who gave my friend 2 free cookies!
google avatar

Gloria N.

Yelp
On my list of bakeries to visit in Maryland and did not disappoint!! We went around 11 am on Sunday and there weren't all the offerings so definitely come in earlier if you want more selection. We got the almond croissant, early gray citrus tea cake, and orange marmelade cream cheese croissant. They were all so good and worth the drive!! Employees are also super helpful and make ordering easy. There are a couple tables around the shop if you want to sit down and enjoy your baked goods. I would definitely recommending visiting this bakery :) Note: they change their menu up and you can check their Instagram for the menu offerings!

Yelp
I just moved to Frederick with my husband and we are such a sucker for a good morning pastry, I found this on yelp and could not wait to walk to Bakehouse. The ambiance in the shop is so cute and clean, there was a line when I got there but when I say the team worked quickly and were beyond friendly! I am not ashamed to say I had an almond croissant and their everything bagel croissant which is amazing!
google avatar

Mj O.

Yelp
Oh bakehouse let me count the ways I love you, but also let me count the ways I am disappointed in you. I am always disappointed I cannot get everything that they have on display nor am i ever late enough to get the monkey bread (i show up early on the weekends in order to get my order and be out of there in a timely fashion). Every time I have been here, since i tried it, I get an everything bagel croissant with the cream cheese. The boy likes the gouda and cured meat croissant so we always get that.. and then we get a variety of "what catches my eye today". Some days its their chocolate sea salt flaked cookies, their cakes, their brownies.. shall i continue? The line moves fast and there is always a staff member bringing out new things. We don't go too often because the calories... but every time i've been I've not been disappointed in the selection. I was a fan of the pumpkin cheesecake but not quite as big of a fan of the gingerbread cake.. The boy and his brother liked the peppermint brownie.

Yelp
Excellent croissants, the closest to Paris bakeries. I would like they carried 'pain aux raisins' but french style. Their cinnamon rolls are huge and delicious, I just wish they wouldn't come with the sugar coating (glaze) but I figured that is what sells.
google avatar

Jacki E.

Yelp
So good that it made me want to move to Frederick. The almond croissant was crispy, buttery, and just plain delicious. The service was friendly and efficient, and they threw in 2 free pastries and a free coffee. Suggest going early. Many items sell out.
google avatar

Robin C.

Yelp
This was arguably the best bun I have ever eaten. It was like a croissant and a cinnamon roll had a baby. Run, don't walk because you will not be disappointed

Carter L.

Yelp
The first time I went to Bakehouse I was working in Frederick and i couldn't decide if I wanted a biscuit or a cake slice so they let me buy the cake and gave me the biscuit for free. Some of the best desserts you'll ever have, with some of the best customer service you'll ever have. Only downside is the incredible lines they rightfully attract but I'd say the staff is good at keeping thing's running smooth. If you're up before 10 in Frederick, Bakehouse is 100% the best there is.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
We have learned our lesson- go early on the weekend so we can have our picks. There are some street parking if you are lucky enough to grab one. If not, a parking garage is pretty close by. The line will be out the door and down the street so be prepared to wait. Sometimes it seems like the line is not moving but be patient. They do take extreme care with each patron and packaging the selections. It will be all worth it. The menu changes every month. There are some standard items but definitely different items every month. Their croissants are exceptional- buttery, flaky, crisp on the outside and texturally perfect inside- best in the area. They even warm up nicely. There is usually 1 scone flavor - sometimes couple- could be sweet or savory. They also have the best cookies! The cookies will freeze will too- just a little tip. There are many more options like cakes, tarts, hand pies, etc. Go early if you want a variety. Be patient- it is all worth it.

Yelp
Not only do they have amazing products but awesome personal and customer service! Thank you

Yelp
Best pastries and baked goods in Maryland. I challenge you to find a better bakery. Flaky, buttery, flavorful, and fresh. The croissants have crispy buttery layers of flaky pastry that are loaded with flavor. Baked to perfection and always perfectly moist. Just try one of everything! Tip: get there early because you will find a line of 20+ people waiting before they open at 8am.

TrueReview Z.

Yelp
Great pastries and even greater people. An awesome business and their baked goods are worth every penny.
google avatar

Melanie H.

Yelp
The absolute best baked goods in Frederick (possibly the entire state of Maryland). They do get very busy and sell out early most days, but if you plan to get there early you will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Aron S.

Yelp
Wow, this place doesn't disappoint. They serve food until they run out, and they did the day I went there for coffee. Although they ran out, they still will sell some baked goods that were misshapen, but still incredibly delicious. If they do this, tip them! Their baked goods are absolutely worth it! Best croissant bear claw I've ever had! Their staff are young, dedicated, passionate, and hardworking. The store is clean and very inviting. Be sure to come by early because the line is usually out the door and around the block, and for good reason. Remember to tip them!!

Ellen B.

Yelp
Excellent bakery. Really made me feel like I was back home. We drove an hour to get there. It was worth the drive.

Yelp
Bakehouse not only offers top notch pastries and baked goods but has THE BEST customer service! I have never seen more compassionate, helpful and kind employees. I was little jittery and dropped the cup I was going to fill with coffee and the employee ran and got me a new cup right away and then helped me with the lid. Another employee ran in the back to get me an almond croissant when I thought they were out. I will be visiting this bakery every single time I come to Frederick.

Yelp
Oh my Goooooood! I'm in love with this Bakery! It's in a small downtown of Frederick, MD. ITS FRESH, crispy, some savory, and some/lots SWEET.

Large portions of perfect pastries! Get there early, lines are long but they move quickly.

Yelp
I have never seen a bakery that was "sold out". Their sign states "sold out or until 2 PM". Wow I had a croissant and discovered why. One bite took me back to my days when I was an assistant to a French Pastry Chef at a Maine resort. The exterior was flaky and the interior was soft and elastic. The flavor was buttery and rich. Sufficient buttery taste without being greasy. Their cake was of similar quality. Both flavorful and moist without being seasoned with too much sugar or cinnamon like many American baked goods. Nice balance of flavors. This bakery is real gem and worth the wait. But get in early.

Yelp
The hype was real. We arrived at about 830am on a Saturday...there was a line out the door. Probably waited 10 minutes in line. It was well worth the wait!!! Wow. Just awesome. We had such a hard time not picking one of everything because it all looked so good! The croissant dough was perfectly flaky and not oily at all. It was so darn good! The everything croissant was not overly salty. The crumb topping on the raspberry almond was crunchy and i wish I had purchased triple because it was so good. The pecan sticky bun and cheddar scone was just as amazing. I will be coming back ASAP and happily stand in line again!!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing pastries and the nicest staff! I was expecting to wait in line after reading the reviews but it moves quickly enough and is well worth the wait. Will definitely be back soon!
