Google
San Diego, CA. Leslie brought us to this cool area and said she loves this store. They give samples of flavored olive oils. They also carry vinegars and…puzzles? I asked why the puzzles. The staff person said, “Pretty much everything here is what the staff likes. And it sells, so…” Well, I loved their puzzles! Steve got one about national parks for Charles. Fun place!

Google
There were so many kinds of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and it was very nice because it was a tasting test system with friendly explanations and taste.I bought a large bottle of 12-year-old balsamic vinegar with a peach flavor. In three bottle sizes, each can be purchased as much as needed and is given up until the year. With this, salad sauce.I'm thinking of trying it because it's rotten with carbonated water.I want you to go and choose something that suits your taste.

Google
This is one of many near small box shops on the historic shopping district of San Diego. They let you sample all the unique olive oils and they DO have very unique tastes! They have other cool stuff too, especially the hardwood cutting boards. It’s hard to walk out without making a purchase…so there, you have been warned! ;) VictorB

Google
Great spot for olive oils, vinegars and other cute kitchen items. Love it for presents! Very generous with tastings and they gift wrap for free. Great location within the public market, in the back closest to Stone.

I like the sweet oils. You've got to try them.

Google
Great selection of olive oils and vinegars! Love their different infused flavors! They have something for any cold or hot dish! The staff is excellent, professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable! I definitely recommend this place! There's plenty of parking across the street. Thank you to the staff, for what you do!

Google
Baker & olive got me hooked on their balsamics. Loved their Pomegranate balsamic. I mostly use it on my salads. Delicious!! I order this product on their wedsite and paid thru Amazon. It's easy a d trustworthy.

Google
Great customer service. Knowledgeable about their product. Little pricey but worth the splurge. Their Espresso Balsamic Vinegar is the most mind blowing, life changing, yumminess (let's just say I was neutral to balsamic before this). Edit: 5 years later and a move across country... And I still special order their Espresso Balsamic to be delivered to my house. Strawberries, brown sugar, espresso balsamic and mint, over mascarpone cheese. You'll lick the bowl (I have, unashamedly.)

Yelp
This place is a chef's dream! Every time I stop in, there are incredible products to sample and a friendly, knowledgeable staff ready to share the background on each vinegar and olive oil. Sarah has done an amazing job with this location -- she's always such a pleasure to visit and has the best insights into the products. She's introduced me to so many delicious new additions I never would've tried otherwise. Their local section is fantastic, and it's actually where I found my new favorite -- "Choil" from Spice is Life. I've probably recommended this place to at least 30 people because it's perfect for anyone who wants to take everyday flavor to the next level. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This business is located inside Liberty Public Market. Baker & Olive specializes in olive and balsamic oils. Small gifts available as well. Sampling cups are located by each dispenser. I found my taste buds were enjoying the fruity olive oils. Free outdoor shared parking.

Yelp
This place has such an incredible selection of olive oils and vinegars! The best part is, everything tastes exactly as advertised! Samples are free and you can try as many items as you'd like, within reason. In particular, their fruit-flavored balsamics are some of the best in the business. With some of the other flavored balsamics I've tried one really struggles to make out the claimed flavors. I was flying out of San Diego Int'l so I had to limit myself to one 100ml bottle in the fear of TSA confiscating it but I would have bought one of each flavor otherwise! They are also happy to ship orders for free over a certain order minimum. I plan on contacting them to see if they can ship me a case of vinegars -- they are so good mixed with a bit of still or sparkling water!

Yelp
TLDR: a small gourmet shop in Liberty Public Market offering delectable in-house olive oils and balsamic vinegars in dozens of flavors! Baker & Olive is a must-try in the SD area if you like unique oils and vinegars that you can use for dressings, sauces, pastas, baking, etc. They have a wide assortment of flavors, the option to sample as many as you like, and sales on select bottles during holidays (might be year-round). For the variety of options, convenience of location (there's so many other food, beer, and souvenir vendors in the market), and uniqueness, I found the pricing very reasonable at $9 for 3.4 oz, $14.99 for a 6.76 oz, and $19.99 for 12.7 oz. I picked up three small bottles and I rate them in order: - Espresso balsamic vinegar: coffee flavor mellows out the sharpness of the vinegar for a smoother, richer finish - Peach white balsamic: I do have a preference for white balsamics and this one incorporates the sweetness of a juicy peach well - Fig balsamic: sweetness of the fig also mellows out the vinegar but I couldn't taste the fig note as well as the other two That said, the flavors are subtle, meaning all the balsamic vinegars do still taste as they should - tangy, sharp, and acidic. By the time I was done choosing, I was probably half blood, half oil/vinegar, but no regrets LOL. I am happily making good use of the three I brought home, and the next time I am in SD, I will 100% be back to buy gifts for friends and more for my fam as well. + also would like to note that some reviews complain of the lack of service, but tbh as a major introvert, I appreciated being left alone to try all the flavors I wanted at my own leisure without someone constantly breathing over my shoulder (so you do you dude!)

Yelp
Love this spot. I come here for olive oil for my personal kitchen, and they have the best tasting and can refill your jars. The staff is always helpful and professional.

Yelp
I visited this shop while I was on vacation in San Diego from Arizona. I bought one of the 4 pack samplers called the "San Diego Box" for my wife. Everything was fine, I brought the gift home three days later. I looked on my bank statement and noticed my card had been charged twice for the single transaction. My receipt only shows one box with a total of $34.99. I have tried calling them and left messages and nobody has called back, acknoledged, apologized or anything. I know it was PROBABLY just an oversight, but $70 is a ton of money for four tiny bottles. If they contact me and reverse the charge, I will gladly take down the review, but it stays until they do! I try not to think the worst of people, but can't help but wonder if she noticed I was not from California and disputing the charge will be difficult. Time will tell...

Yelp
I loved this little store in the market! I just saw that they offered samples of a huge variety of oils and balsamic vinegars! These were aged and had such a depth of flavor I loved trying them all! The pricing was $9 for a 3.4oz bottle, $14.99 for a 6.76oz bottle, and $19.99 for a 12.7oz bottle. I bought two 3.4oz bottles of different balsamic vinegars, peach white balsamic and apricot balsamic. The staff were so friendly and also had some knowledge to share about the products! Love love love the vibe of the place too! It is so aesthetically pleasing! Posted many many photos of what everything looked like! Make sure to check in for an extra 15% off! Support this business! I know I'll be back on my next trip to San Diego!

Yelp
Excellent products! We popped into Liberty Public Market and I couldn't help myself. I had to taste the different olive oils and vinegars. I did walk away with a lovely bottle of white balsamic and a delicious Eureka lemon infused olive oil.

Yelp
First time trying a white balsamic. It was delicious. Seasonal Pumpkin spice white balsamic.

Yelp
The olive oil here is awesome! However the staff ISN'T very warm and friendly. They never say hello when I walk in. I've been in the hospitality business for 17 years . It doesn't make me want to buy anything - Feels cold. I was going to buy some Xmas gifts today- however, once again, I got that cold feeling from the staff. A smile & a hello would go a long way. Again, the olive oil & products are really good.... It's just a lack of customer service...

Yelp
I really liked walking into this place, another gem in the Liberty Public Market in San Diego, Really liked the ability to taste both the extra virgin oils as well as the aged balsamic vinegars (including white vinegars). A while back, I had tasted a pomegranate dark balsamic vinegar somewhere. Cannot recall where but have never forgotten the experience. So much so that we bought a small bottle (it was pricey). And I have been searching for a place ever since. So imagine my delight. I did some tasting. There are numerous infused balsamics to taste. I settled for a bottle of the pomegranate dark balsamic vinegar. It is aged for 18 years and made from grapes in Modena, Italsy. A 375 ml bottle is $19.99. Grab one and you will ascend to another culinary planet.

Yelp
So yummy! Fig and white peach balsamic was great!! Christine was so helpful and educated us!!

Yelp
Great products. I have only good things to say about their products , but cashier who was there one afternoon last week was extremely rude and gave off a bad vibe from the start. Didn't acknowledge anyone, seemed irritated when asked for help, and made a snide remark as a customer was walking away. So unprofessional, that I'm not sure I want to go back and deal with her unwelcoming attitude.

Yelp
Fantastic selection of unique and flavorful balsamic vinegars and Olive Oils. The service is fantastic and it's fun to taste test Vinegars

Nathaniel S.

Yelp
Great service and selection. I really recommend the white truffle oil. I used it all in one night on some steaks.

Yelp
Went to the market on Saturday and was looking for some fig balsamic, and I noticed that there weren't any employees around. I went around the market to get something to eat thinking that maybe they'd come back by the time I was done ordering my food. When I got back, the girl and boy employees of B&O were at the Olala Crepes store by their POS and it looked like they were grabbing something under the monitor which looked strange because the crepes employees were busy making food, and the 2 had mischievous faces the whole time. As I was about to inform one of the crepe gals that they were behind the register, she turned around and was frustrated as she told the pair to stop entering their store. The immature employees ran away laughing, and I heard them talking negatively about the crepes gals. I've purchased products from here before, but it must've been when the owner was the only one there because I've never seen such phone-addicted, immature employees be in charge of a store like this before. Going to similar stores in Europe that sell said products, people take balsamic and oil very seriously as they're very expensive to make and sell, and all it takes is the foolishness of employees to tarnish the image/brand of a company.

Yelp
Great selection of Olive Oil and Vinegars. Customer service is great and they are always willing to help you and offer recommendations. They just started doing happy hour ($1 off) 4pm to 6pm Mon-Fri I believe. Hey save a a buck to spend on some more great oils? No problem. Just go in, try some oils and some vinegars, let your creative imagination flow as you debate which to pair together to make a great dressing for your salad or which vinegar to marinade your steak in. Won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Best traditional Balsamic ever. Try pickling freshly cooked beets with it . It will blow your mined

Ernestine B.

Yelp
One of the best Purveyors of Extra Virgin Olive Oils and Balsamic! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable on their wide variety of products in which you may also sample while visiting. If you are ever at Liberty Station, you must visit this hot spot!!

Yelp
Awesome shop and awesome employees! Some of the best oils and balsamic we've ever had. Server ce with a smile in the middle of liberty station market!!

Yelp
Baker & Olive balsamic vinegars are truly special. They are super flavorful. Alex has helped me two years in a row put together gifts for our clients. One year we did their wonderful spices and this year we are doing the fig & peach balsamic vinegars. Alex is a rockstar, he goes above & beyond with his customer service. I'm so grateful to him and all the staff at Baker & Olive for their care & attention. Plus, their amazing gourmet products. This is an excellent place to buy a unique gift or special products to make your next meal a gourmet treat! Thank you!

Yelp
Baker and Olive is such a cute shop in Liberty Public Market! My mother and I bought the Blood Orange Olive Oil as well as the Mediterranean Olive Oil and they were both very great for cooking. The customer service was awesome and I am looking forward to going back soon!

Yelp
Okay, from the moment I ventured in until the moment I left, everyone in this shop was incredibly welcoming and helpful. There is a large table of balsamic vinegars and olive oils from around the world that you may sample. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about all of these items. I left with a fantastic bottle of olive oil from Spain. The store also has other items, like spices and honey, that range from very affordable to aficionado-price. :) I recommend venturing through here as you discover the Market and you never know what you will fall in love with.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place while trying to walk back to my car. The multiple tastings then drew me into the little shop. I've always love balsamic vinegar and you can try so many types of it here. It's like Costco but just for balsamic vinegar! I especially liked the espresso flavored balsamic vinegar. Sounds like a weird combo at first ended up being the one I thought that worked the best. The others were also good but too fruity/citrus-y for my liking. I ended up getting 2 bottles. The espresso and traditional balsamic vinegar for $17/each. I am not sure if it's a great deal or not but I thought I'd give it a try since I am rarely in SD. They also have a website so you can order it online. Also, they had an offer when you can refill an empty bottle for $1 off your purchase. I am excited to get some bread to start slurping up the vinegar! Oh yea, what goes well with balsamic vinegar? Olive Oil! (Which you can also test out and purchase as well) I have yet to use the vinegar but I must say, I think it was worth it!

Yelp
Amazing! Amazeballs!! Man I got suckered in. Stopped by with a friend to refill her bottles of vinegar and started sampling oils and balsamic with my wife.. we became drunk with passion for this high end establishment. We began grabbing big bottles little bottles, sampling peach balsamic, coffee balsamic, garlic evoo. In love with their products and staff.
google avatar

Sol C.

Yelp
Wide variety of olive oil and balsamic vinegars to sample from. All self serve too. The fruity balsamics like blackberry, pomegranite, lemon were a bit too sweet for my taste. I'd stick with the traditional types. Wife got the peach balsamic. The garlic EVOO was tasty also. Definitely come for the samplings!

Monica H.

Yelp
Fig balsamic. OMG. Best I have tried for veggies, outstanding quality. The service is great here too. Refill your bottle and save a buck. I have three bottles so one is always full. Addictive and so worth the price.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Love this place. We get all of our salad dressing oil and vinegar here- so tasty. We also got a lot of our Christmas gifts from friends and family here.
google avatar

Desmond F.

Yelp
Definitely a small boutique type of place. A 375 ml of oil or balsamic vinegar is going to run you almost 20 bucks. So more expensive than the local grocery store....but what you're getting is unique selection and the chance to try them all. Although I personally don't think I could try everything in one day without getting taster's fatigue, it's not for lack of trying. The last time we were here we had the cranberry white balsamic and it was so good we just ended up buying it, even thought we haven't finished our balsamic vinegar at home. I will be returning to get everyone I know who might even be remotely interested in unique flavors holiday gifts!
google avatar

Annette T.

Yelp
OVERPRICED. This is vinegar for heaven's sake! Yes, it's really, really good...but in my mind, in the end, it's vinegar. What has happened to people's values that anyone would think that it's OK to pay over $20 for a small bottle of vinegar? Some people have too much money and not enough charities to donate to.
google avatar

Cindy T.

Yelp
Excellent selection of items to cook with such as infused salts, infused olive oils, infused balsamic vinegar. They have excellent regular balsamic and regular olive oil as well. Those were really the only things I looked at, but there were lots of other things. I've bought balsamic vinegar from the grocery store only to be disappointed by the flavor, so I love being able to sample the infused items before purchasing. I ended up buying a bottle of pomegranate balsamic vinegar. It was $17 for 350 ml (I think). It's got excellent flavor and goes well in a salad. I'm going to try putting it on duck next. My boyfriend loves the pomegranate balsamic so much that I catch him taking small sips of my vinegar and he kind of puts it on everything. Definitely will be coming back when I run out.
google avatar

K T.

Yelp
What a great find! I believe I tasted every Balsamic and EVOO flavor that was available. I walked away with four bottles and if I had more room in my luggage it would have been more. I can't wait to use what I bought. Since we're on the East Coast I was relieved to know I can shop online.
google avatar

Carrie R.

Yelp
Love this store!! Samples before buying and good prices. Basil oil and the cilantro/roasted onion are the best! The lemon white balsamic is also delicious.

Yelp
I love this place! I work at Point Loma Sports Club in Liberty station and wandered over to look around at lunchtime. Liam was so nice and very helpful with any questions I had. Also very knowledgeable about every product. I went with the traditional balsamic vinegar to top off for my salads when I'm at work. Very rich in flavor and would highly recommend!
