"Breakfast and lunch at this cheery spot is the equivalent of a mini trip around the world: the menu is equal parts New Zealand and America—huevos rancheros, incredible fresh-baked pastry, and a ton of fresh juice options—while the bright interior (the living wall is definitely a focal point) is a nod to one of the owner’s Brazilian roots (the other is from New Zealand). In true Kiwi tradition, the flat whites are on point. There's a second location in Kadijksplein. "

The food was delicious and it's the best coffee I've had in this neighbourhood! I don't eat beef or pork, so they swapped the pork in my eggs Benedict with extra avocado. The ingredients were fresh, the flavours were amazing and the flavour pairings from the Brazilian and Kiwi cultures were incredible. One of my favourites! The staff was super nice. Even though they're reservation system was temporarily down, and I had to wait for 45 minutes before I could find a table, the staff was super nice and offered me a spot to relax in the waiting area. They also helped me with my luggage. Great experience in general, totally recommend it for brunches and breakfasts!

An experience to repeat 💫 Beakers & Roasters is one of those places that grab you from the first moment. The place is simply beautiful: carefully decorated, cozy atmosphere and a relaxed vibe that invites you to stay. Everything is designed to make you feel at ease, and they succeed. The staff is another great plus. Friendly, attentive and with an incredible energy. You can tell they like what they do and that is reflected in the service, which was impeccable from start to finish. I tried the Cuban sandwich and it was spectacular: tasty, well balanced, with quality ingredients and that special touch that makes it stand out among others. Undoubtedly, one of the best I have ever tasted. A place that combines good taste, excellent service and delicious food, I will come back without thinking twice!

Despite a waitlist, the service was quick and efficient. I’m usually not a fan of vegan food or flavors but I tried their new vegan dish and it was absolutely fantastic. The portions were generous and I left feeling full and satisfied. Great value for money and definitely worth a visit!

Google
The breakfast portions were generous, and the menu offered a great variety of options. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. I truly enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. A lovely spot that I’d definitely recommend!

Google
Very very good breakfast - we loved both huevos rancheros (great taco, lovely beans, perfect pico de gallo) and the cuban sandwich (was afraid of pork, but could not be more wrong), which were super fresh and made to perfection. When you enter the waiting list, they say it's worth the wait and I agree.

Google
This place truly lives up to the hype! The food is exceptional, made with fresh, top-quality ingredients that you can really taste in every bite. It’s a delicious experience that’s definitely worth seeking out. There’s a waiting list—so you can also reserve in advance.

Google
Nice brunch spot, if the waiting time is not too long. Keep in mind it’s usually really busy and they don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait for a while. The food is nothing too special, but the service is quick after you get seated, the staff is welcoming and the atmosphere is nice.

Google
This is one of the best breakfast with some great vegan options available I ever had. Reminds me of our kiwi breakfast with potato’s and eggs benedict on top with a great toast.Good strong coffee to start my day with bakers and rosters.

Yelp
Food was delicious and its a dog friendly place so that was a plus. You have the option to sit inside or outside so depending on the weather you can decide. The filter coffee was the beat i had in Amsterdam but i am American so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Pancakes had the right amount of syrup and fruit. Id def comeback here but hopefully by then i have a furry companion to come with!

Yelp
Phew finally some good protein! As a visitor from the US one can only have but so much bread so we went on the hunt for eggs and this place did not disappoint. It's pretty small inside and there was a waitlist to get on when we showed up. Since we were a party of two the time went by fast. They had great coffee options as well as a few cocktails. My friend had an espresso martini and I had a cappuccino. My friend had pancakes meal with eggs and sourdough. The pancakes looked amazing . They were the fluffiest pancakes I've ever seen. His food was amazing. I had a the power breakfast with chicken, black beans, egg whites, cottage cheese, and brown rice. I added some avocado. The meal held me over for the remainder of the day. They had so many things on the menu I wanted to try including their desserts. Definitely a place I would return to.

Yelp
Very nice breakfast/brunch spot. We got the Dutch and vege breakfast plates for lunch on a rainy day. We had about a 15 minute wait on a weekday afternoon for lunch, guessing this place gets reallly popular over the weekends. It was close to the museums and the Heineken experience, so we made a pit stop here for lunch. The food was great, clean and fresh! Since they were so busy, it took forever to get the food. So if you are trying to keep an appointment, think twice.

Yelp
Stunning food - that's all that needs to be said. Outside of the complicated waitlist system (refreshing in the hopes the waitlist opens so that you can quickly type in your name), the rest is absolutely wonderful. I had the Eggs Royale and Pancakes and they were both so good. The smoked salmon is so flavorful.

Yelp
Bakers & Roasters was so good, we went two days in a row! The portions are huge so my fiance and I shared a meal both times. For food, we had the Huevos Rancheros the first day (really good but more like a tostada) with the breakkie potatoes. We tried the Navajo Eggs the second day with sausage and their breakkie potatoes. This was our favorite meal. Everything was delicious and fresh. Their fresh sour cream is so good! For drinks, we tried their mimosas, margaritas, and White Russian. All were consistently good on both days. The White Russian was my favorite - they added caramel/toffee pieces on top which were so good! They get pretty busy, so arriving early is recommended. The service was fantastic - everyone was very friendly and the food/drinks all came out quickly. We sat on the patio both times to enjoy the nice weather. They were super dog-friendly, too! We will definitely be back! Meals, drinks, and the outside patio area are pictured below.

Yelp
Very nice on first impression! Greeted and seated in less than 2 minutes. This is a nice breakfast/brunch spot for two. The seating inside is really tight yet it still didn't feel overcrowded or too noisy. There were some good selections on the menu but I decided on the French toast with a side of scrambled eggs. The French toast was amazing! Good enough that I'll likely go back before leaving Amsterdam. There were a few different servers in rotation and they checked in often. There were no delays in service at all. I did have an espresso martini which paired very well with my meal.

Yelp
Really solid brunch place in a convenient part of town. Portions were generous, but nothing felt too heavy; every component of our dishes felt fresh and healthful. I'm not vegetarian but the veggie brekkie sounded delicious, and it was! Staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was both calm but energizing; it was a great way to start the day.

Yelp
Came here for brunch one morning when I was in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago. I came early enough that there wasn't a wait, nor did I need a reservation. I got their vege brekkie along with an iced latte. My food came out pretty quickly and I was pleased with my selection - the toast was amazing, the ingredients fresh, and all the components of this dish came together great. My coffee was quite good, and service was very attentive all throughout my time here. I have a feeling that you probably can't go too wrong with any of their items, and I'd certainly recommend anybody to come by here if they happen to find themselves in this part of town.

Yelp
Found this place online when i looked for best breakfast places. It didn't disappoint at all. The food was really good. The banana nut bread was sweet and didn't require any more syrup.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to try Bakers and Roasters for brunch on our last day of our trip in Amsterdam. We arrived right at 10 on a Sunday morning and it was a steady crowd, but there was a wait by the time we left. We were in and out of the restaurant in under an hour and it was some of the fastest service I've seen in Europe. The food could not have been better and we both thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. We also enjoyed our drinks. The waitress was very friendly as well. My only pet peeve that could have made the meal better would have been to of had another foot of spacing from the other tables in each side of us. My wife and I were laughing about the discussion the people next to us were having after we left the restaurant. Would happily eat here regularly if I lived nearby.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and the service was GREAT! Come with an appetite because the portions are huge and delicious!! Please see pics because how great they are - is how great it ALL tasted!!! It is touted as brunch all day, so come on down and start your day off right!!

Yelp
Loved my eggs Benedict and green juice. Nice little brunch spot in Amsterdam. Will come back again when I visit.

Yelp
Amsterdam, May 2023, early lunch for 2. Cute, little place near museums part of the city. Very popular, dont take reservations. There is an online waiting list you can add your name on and wait outside to be called in. We waited 40 min. Very friendly service. Food is ok. I got salmon with eggs Benedict on a gluten free toast. Toast slices were very thick, with very modest, almost unnoticeable layer of butter and very thin salmon, paired with very little sauce on the eggs, made the sandwich very very dry, unbalanced in taste and not enjoyable. My partner had bbq pork bowl with a total opposite - pork meat was lost in the sea of way too sweet sauce. Overall, i don't get it what the whole hope is about. Perhaps we ordered wrong dishes. Definitely was not worth the wait

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp on a trip to Amsterdam. Food was fantastic. Had the kiwi breki and staff were very friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, good pricing! Coffee was delicious as well. you have to scan a QR code to get on their waitlist. Definitely a good spot for lunch when near the museums!

Yelp
Had a great experience here! We put our name on the waitlist and they provide and estimated time to be seated which was nice. I tried the porridge which was good. The place was very busy and the service was timely.

Yelp
I got the B&R Special, which includes eggs (choice of poached, scrambled, or fried) on toast with bacon, along with a mini stack of pancake plus syrup. I chose scrambled eggs and they were the fluffiest eggs I have ever had. The toast was great too, it was so fluffy and healthy because I think it was multigrain. The pancakes were done well too; a little bland but the texture was amazing (these are American pancakes, so fluff is key). I also got an iced latte which was just a hot latte in ice; would recommended a normal hot latte because the iced was a little watered down. Overall, a popular place to stop by. They have a virtual wait list so you do not have to stand outside and wait.

Yelp
We went here on a recommendation and because of the approach they take towards fresh local ingredients. We were a party of four and asked ahead of time if they excepted visa and if they would mind splitting the check since we are not one family. They said yes to both so we were seated and ordered. The food was delicious and did not disappoint. Our whole group enjoyed their brunch choices and the coffee was delicious. I had the Chorizo burrito and the wife had the Huevos Rancheros both were great. Our friends both got the The B and R special and were pleased. The portions are large and I was able to bring half of mine home for lunch. The restaurant is not very big so get there early especially if you have a party larger than 4. I was also impressed with there bakery section. Not a large selection but what they had looked very good. The reason for the four stars is because at the end as we were trying to pay our bills the server told us that it was policy to not split bills and that she wouldn't do it. Frustrating since I had asked before we sat down. Otherwise great experience.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the Eggs Benny I ordered was quite bad. The bacon used was so salty that it overpowered everything else, and the egg was hard poached with lumpy hollandaise. Very unfortunate.
google avatar

Bianca L.

Yelp
My husband and I had Bakers & Roasters for our first breakfast in Amsterdam. Our dishes were delicious! It was the best way to kick off a long day of exploring Amsterdam. We'd highly recommend them and would love to revisit whenever we travel back!
google avatar

Aurora S.

Yelp
Delicious, nice atmosphere, good service. The pancakes in the B&R Special were very fluffy, and not too thick. The syrup was authentic maple, and the bread was a nice balance of thick crust and soft inside. Heavy salt on the rim of the Salted Caramel White Russian, but with a good sip it's a nice accompaniment.

Yelp
We had a spectacular breakfast here. Arrived around 10:30 on a Friday, and while busy, we were seated right away, and provided with menus. Our server came over a few minutes after we were seated, and took our drink and food order. While waiting for our food, and eating, we were both amazed by the efficiency of this place. As soon as someone leaves, the table is wiped/cleaned and reset. Our food came out fairly quickly, and everything was very generously portioned. I went with the eggs Benedict that had smoked salmon vs bacon, hollandaise and avocado, on thick-cut country style bread with lots of butter. It was delicious. Bob ordered the fruit bowl, which was a generous portion of fruit, with juice in the bowl, a side of yogurt and toast. I had a latte - the coffee was delicious - very flavorful/robust beans. There's also a surprising about of seating out front, inside, and out back. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
Friendly and efficient service. Very helpful on allergy info. They ask everyone and give you a consult if needed Various egg dishes were all good. Cake a bit on the sweet side my poached eggs with salmon and toast was cold though. Wonder if they usually rely on the Hollandaise sauce to warm everything-- which I held. Also the avocado was a bit tasteless. But I'd still come here again. When you arrive add your name to the waitlist using the QR code out front ( or do in advance of your arrival). Even on Sunday it wasn't too bad. Bathroom: 2 stalls labeled male and female. This is a queer friendly restaurant. Why don't you make both these 2 "any gender" ?!?

Kaela S.

Yelp
The White Russian and Bloody Mary were soooo good! Whatever my husband got to eat was delicious, breakfast burrito was ok. Server was nice and spoke English.
google avatar

Alice C.

Yelp
Very hip brunch place in the hip De pijp neighborhood of amsterdam. Highly recommend their kiwi brekkie, good portion size and the sausage is very tasty. Feels on the pricier end, but does nothing to discourage the crowds waiting to try

Yelp
Usually takes a pretty bad experience for me to post, and I felt this place would be great based on the amount of positive reviews. Today's experience had several issues. For starters, when we were seated, it took an eternity for our server to greet us and take a drink order. The business had just opened 15 minutes prior to our arrival and it seemed like staff was just not connected on who's doing what. What we did hear was conversations about who is going on break. When we finally met our server, she poured us some water, then disappeared for probably 15 minutes. When she finally returned, she asked if we were ready to order. I guess this is where we order our coffee, along with our breakfast? When our coffee arrived, my daughter asked if she could have a packet of sugar. This was met by a disgusted look by our server. I'm sorry, did we insult you? She returned with a bottle of brown sugar. No white sugar packet at all and no addressing what was asked for. That's fine if you don't have what I am requesting. Just please communicate and not be passive aggressive. Our food arrived, and now we transition to the next issue, the cook. I ordered the Eggs Royale and my wife had the B&R Special. Both came with a poached egg. My egg was soft boiled and not what I would call poached. I didn't think my meal could be topped but my wife's poached egg was actually soft boiled with runny egg white. I didn't think this could be possible? Her pancakes that came with it were runnier than what her egg should have been. The texture was rather doughy interior. At this point, we knew this experience was a bomb and it was time to cut our losses and run. We went to Locals Restaurant right down the street to salvage our morning breakfast experience. I get that this was a Sunday, but it was early (before 9 am). I wouldn't want to see what this place looks like in a couple hours. Another fun side note: A family with 2 young girls followed our lead and ate at Locals also. They were denied sitting at a table until there entire party arrived. They took their business elsewhere. I would do the same.

Emily C.

Yelp
All of our food was EXCELLENT. Every part of the meal was so flavorful and came together perfectly. Would come again. Green juice was so fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
Quick service, I ordered the breakfast burrito and was very satisfied, chorizo was good and the tomato salsa inside was really tasty!

Yelp
We were visiting Amsterdam and was really craving a good hearty breakfast. Did a little Yelp research and found this place! They don't take reservations but when you get there you can scan the QR Code and log in to put yourself on a wait list. This place is busy so be prepared to wait a little bit but it's worth it. I ordered the Kiwi Brekkie and my other half ordered the classic Eggs Benny. Let's start off with the coffee it was nice and hot and strong! The Kiwi brekkie had a bit of everything but what stood out for me was the mushrooms in a creamy sauce! So delicious and went with the eggs so nicely. Also served with some sauted spinach and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The Eggs Benny has so much yummy bacon!! Eggs were fantastic, bacon crispy and served on a really yummy bread. Hollandaise was delicious of course. we really enjoyed the breakfast and highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
This was such a cute little breakfast spot. I was in Amsterdam in March of 2020, got so lucky to travel one last time before the pandemic hit. I loved the vibe of Amsterdam so much, and i think about it often. This was one of my last meals before returning home and it did not disappoint. Everything was so fresh, presented beautifully, the juices were made to order, coffee spectacular. I consider myself somewhat of a Benedict afficionado and this one is up on the list of one of the bests I've had. It came with bacon instead of the traditional Canadian bacon, but I've learned I prefer Benedict's with bacon, and I appreciate whenn you ask for crispy bacon, it comes crispy and not as a pile of rubbery fat. I hope to visit Amsterdam again, and would not hesitate to return here.

Yelp
b&r special was so yum and the eggs were beautifully scrambled. we sat outside and they turned on the heater for us and gave us blankets so kind
google avatar

Susan W.

Yelp
My friend & I lucked upon this place because the Avocado Show didn't open til 10am for breakfast. We felt we were meant to come here after meeting Michael the manager (?) from Dublin. He gave us great travel info for Dublin. We both went with the Kiwi brekkie with eggs scrambled well done. They were perfectly cooked. And WOW! What a plate of food. We both couldn't finish it and we got our sausage &/potatoes to go. I will come back and recommend to all my friends and coworkers.

Rena B.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! We had a Hot Toddy and a Bloody Mary. They were exceptional. The Toddy was hot, spicy and fresh and the Bloody was simple, spicy and delicious...not overdone. We ate Huevos Rancheros and Eggs Florentine with gluten free bread and a side of bacon. Everything was exceptional!
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
I totally thought I wrote this review already but it just shows you that this place is so good I thought to randomly look at their yelp 5 months after coming here. I traveled to Amsterdam in March and the breakfast I had was amazing. I honestly think about it every so often it was so good. I wish I had a place like this by me.
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
Incredible taste. Great atmosphere. Well designed. Good coffee. One of the best breakfast spots in Amsterdam .
google avatar

Ciara B.

Yelp
What a gem! While in town visiting, a friend recommended we stop here for breakfast. There is not a ton of seating so be prepared to wait. Luckily, we were able tog grab two seats at the bar area. The wait staff is friendly and very attentive. They run a good ship there. I ordered the Kiwi Brekkie. It's a hearty meal that will fill you up! It comes with the most delicious mushrooms in a cream sauce that I hope to find a copycat recipe for. Aside from the food, I loved the apple juice. It's freshed squeezed and you can totally tell in the taste how much of a difference that makes. It was so good!
google avatar

Jeanette D.

Yelp
We were in Amsterdam for only one morning and yelped local breakfasts and found this one at the top of the list. This place does not disappoint and it may be one of my favorite breakfasts' of all time (a big statement, I know). My boyfriend got an incredible pork (different for breakfast, I'm also aware) with a mango salsa, chipotle aioli sauce, freshly made eggs and toast and the flavors combined so well together. I got the B&R special because I couldn't decide from all the goodness. It was a mix of pancakes, eggs, toast, and bacon. We also shared a side of fruit which was incredible and it was probably the best cappuccino I've had yet. Can't recommend this place enough!
google avatar

Khatereh M.

Yelp
It was a good place for brunch, although we had to wait for 40 min to get it after putting our name on waiting list, their service was amazing but i had a expected more for their pancake but it was just a regular pancake, but we enjoyed our brunch time there!
google avatar

Leemor Y.

Yelp
Really great veggie breakfast with halumi, avocado, and eggs. A bit of a wait but they have a very organized process for the waitlist.
google avatar

Sophia D.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place so much and it was seriously one of the cutest brunch places I have ever been too. Tucked away in a little street but easy to find. The wait was fairly quick so that was a plus. Also it's located by the Heineken factory so great place to eat at before you go there. I ordered the power shake and the kiwi breakie to share with the boyfriend. The power shake was so good. You would never know it had protein in it besides the peanut butter and I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter but it didn't taste too peanut butter for me and loved the banana. As for the breakfast it was too good and perfect to share with one other person as I don't really eat breakfast or eat too much. I loved the bacon, potatoes and everything else it came with. The egg was poached nicely and the spinach it cane with was good too. This place is a must in Amsterdam to try! Also great for Instagram too
google avatar

MIk W.

Yelp
Great food, ambiance, and customer service. We were very pleased with our menu selections as the foods were tasty and served at proper temperature. The Kiwi Plate, Huevos Rancheros, pancakes and eggs royal were tops on our plates and pallets. Even the caipirinhas were yummy. We plan to be back! Be sure to sign in from the waitlist on the kiosk when you arrive.
google avatar

Tim K.

Yelp
OMG this place is fantastic, and not to be missed. I lived in the Southwestern US for 10 years and never had huevos rancheros as good as they serve here
google avatar

Gerard Y.

Yelp
I ordered Eggs Royale and a side of Chorizo. The chorizo tasted great and went well with the perfectly toasted sandwich with and egg on each with lovely smoked salmon Plenty of dining choices for breakfast in the area, but I'm glad I chose this place. This is probably the 1st restaurant in Amsterdam where I received great customer service from the wait staff. They checked on me from time to time.
google avatar

Aybige K.

Yelp
We had such an amazing breakfast, I didn't want it to end. The eggs were so fresh and tasty, bread was delicious. The healthy and freshly blended carrot and beat juice was an added bonus to our breakfast.

Eliza P.

Yelp
Delicious food and really cool and varied menu. Brunch goodness. Casual and not fancy at all. If i lived in Amsterdam, I would be here all of the time. Yummy desserts to go.
google avatar

Bran L.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast. Went here twice while in town for three days. Absolutely coming back next time
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
I came in for breakfast on a Friday morning and was seated after a very minimal wait. Even though it was probably not the thing to get, I ordered the Huevos Rancheros because it sounded the most appetizing at the moment. I was not disappointed. It was a simple combination of eggs, beans, avocado, tortilla and salsa, but I was satisfied. Paired with a matcha latte (for the wake up) and a salted caramel white Russian (for fun...it was Friday after all), I was quite happy with my breakfast at Bakers & Roasters. The design scheme was clean, breakfast place and it was busy but I felt like I got everything in time. Service was efficiently friendly and I paid with a chip card. I would come back to try the other coffee options. They appear to be coffee experts, so I'd check that out.
google avatar

Katerina Y. Y.

Yelp
Wow. Ambiance was amazing- service was jaunty and the food was delicious. Would love to come back and try and give it 5 stars but since this was a one time trip- can't really judge. Pretty epic tho.
google avatar

Kelsey B.

Yelp
WOW! Bakers & Roasters brunch is top notch! Their coffee and espresso drinks are wonderful and their breakfast dishes are delicious and filling. The fresh squeezed orange juice was also a treat. What we tried and enjoyed - a mocha, a flat white, the veggie brekkie, and the B&R special. Other pros - Friendly service and frequent water top offs. A+ experience!
