It's only the beginning of January, but I think I found my new favorite place for 2020. We went Friday night. I'd heard about this place from some friends and remember the staff at One Broad talking about it before it opened. We really wanted pizza and were stuck between trying this and another, more expensive pizza place downtown.
We decided on this one (well I decided because I was hellbent on trying it out). We found metered street parking (it's January, downtown is kinda quiet, even for a Friday night). I could smell the pizza through the grates on the ground, but couldn't find the entrance. We ended up asking the valet person and he directed us to the door on the right (around the corner).
We went downstairs and immediately noticed the chill vibe. No phones allowed, so I didn't take any pictures. It was actually a refreshing change of pace to see a place where everyone was laughing, talking, and didn't have a phone shoved up in their face.
It's seat yourself. We got there around 6:30 and it was already pretty packed. The place is smaller, so it packs up fast. We found a seat a high top next to the bar. They don't have a huge staff, like maybe three people working front of the house max. Be prepared to wait a few minutes to get served, but the wait wasn't terrible.
We ordered drinks and food all at once to cut down on the wait. The beers are cheap (like 10 years ago Charleston cheap). The pizza's are relatively inexpensive as well. We ordered a large Proscuitto pizza (18" big enough to feed two hungry adults, possibly three, or two adults and two kids, although I wouldn't really bring kids here). A pretzel (which was as good, if not better than one we've had in Germany, and was only $3).
The food was fantastic. Like legit, best pizza in Charleston. Our bill was $50 including tip for 4 Miller Lites, One Glass of Wine, Large Pizza, and Pretzel. That's a steal for Charleston standards.
I'm already planning to go back this weekend :)
