Bakers of Paris Wholesale Bakery Closes in San Francisco   - Eater SF

"Bakers of Paris, one of the largest wholesale bakeries in the city, plans to close on Friday, March 20, Hoodline reported first. Owners Lionel Robbe-Jedeau and Gilles Wicker came from Paris before founding the company in 1981 and went on to have a nearly 40-year run, supplying the city with baguettes, rolls, and croissants. The company opened storefronts in the Haight, Noe Valley, and Parkside, but later focused on wholesale to hotels, delis, and stores like Safeway and Whole Foods. They faced challenges, including opposition from the Teamsters union, but succeeded in popularizing daily fresh bread in the Bay Area." - Becky Duffett

This place has recently re-opened under new management. Our family love their Raisin Swirl (made by Baker of Paris, of course) but for the past few days, we did not have much luck in getting this favorite (either not delivered yet, sold out, or only one left!). So we wind up having to order lots in advance. I know the store is new, but its young manager needs to act fast to keep customers happy and satisfied, or they may drift away. Best wishes!

Croissants are fresh and traditionally-made. This is an early morning take-out place for me when we want something different for breakfast. Pastries are good too. They also have traditional french breads.

JUST OPENED AFTER THEY'VE BEEN CLOSED FOR 08 MONTHS REMODELING.( UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP ) BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR DESIGN. IT'S A LOT BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS LOOK. THEY CARRY ILLY'S COFFEE ( MY FAVORITE ITALIAN BRAND ), GREAT SANDWICHES. PASTRIES & BREAD ARE FROM THE SAME BAKERY AS PREVIOUS OWNER BUT MORE VARIETES. ( MUST GIVE THEM A VISIT ) FRIENDLY & GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, DEFINITELY COMING BACK.
