Bakersfield Nashville

It is opened till midnight that is a huge plus. We drove into Nashville about 10pm for a conference and wanted Mexican so the hours are amazing for what you get both in food and atmosphere. If you have seen any of my reviews I was fortunate to live in St. Louis which has an amazing Mexican community and a vibrant culture of authentic Mexican cuisine. So when they said $3 tacos with some of the menu items including fish tacos I was excited and I was not disappointed, but I was not gliding on that magic cloud that you get when you bite into a delicious street taco. I had pork tacos as well and they were tasty. I think the winner was some kind of bbq pork taco and that was amazing. Also so the beans and rice were some of the best I’ve had although they were a bit $$$ they were worth every penny. Go here try it get margaritas we did. A pitcher of pineapple $45 but strong and there was a lot. We also really liked our server and the bar was beautiful. Check it out.

Bakersfield is a cool Mexican Restaurant with lots of great cocktails and food choices! The space is a wide open with a wrap around bar! Our server made good recommendations and provided friendly service! The starter of chips and salsa had warmed chips..always a nice touch! The cocktails…The Old Fashioned & Cranberry Ginger Margarita were flavorful! The Rice and Beans and Tacos were a good portion size! Quality food at reasonable prices! Do yourself a solid and make a visit to Bakersfield..you’ll be happy you did!

Great tacos and tequila place. Tacos are very tasty although they do cost $4.50 for 1 small corn tortilla soft taco. Salad portions big and guacamole is fresh and chunky.

Nice spot to hang out in Nashville downtown. The food it decent they have a Mexican menu and the tacos are like 4.5 $ per taco guess regular Nashville pricing. The pastor is good. Ambience is rustic and has a good vibe. The drinks are decent as well with friendly bartenders. If u want a lot of options on food and super hungry then this is not the place.

A great find in the heart of Nashville. Tacos were amazing. AI was glad to find a place that sold mezcal as well. Jeff gave next level service. He was charming and witty. I hope he gets his hickory tower up and running!!! Will definitely be back when business has me in Nashville

Absolutely Amazing food and our Cocktails were made to order. This would be amazing in Cartersville, GA. We need this custom tacos tequila and whiskey. Our tacos were so delish!! Guava Tequila was aged 8 years and simply hands down incomparable. Go Bakersville and Staff you were super amazing and e will be back.

Solid taco & margarita spot. The service here is good. The food here is also good. Got the chicken torta and a few different tacos along with the chips and guac. All very good no complaints at all

We had a memorable birthday experience at Bakersfield. Our server matched our energy and went above and beyond to make our experience the best possible. We will definitely be back and it is in big part to the amazing service from Kailyn!!

The service was honestly really great! I wish I would've asked our waiters name but he was awesome! The queso and guacamole were both excellent. We also got the salsa trio. Our son for the cheese quesadilla off the kids menu and it was good! I got the pastor tacos and they were tiny, but great! It was a relaxed atmosphere and we felt fine dining here in casual clothes. They had a full bar and there was no wait on a Thursday night! I would eat here again.

We wanted something quick, nothing fancy and didn't really want to pig out. Our concierge recommended Bakersfield. We walked quite a ways from our hotel when I asked my husband how much farther. He looked at me and said that they had given me the directions. He knows better than that - the single worst fight we have had in 35 years was because of my inability to read maps. (Thank heavens for waze but even that I can mess up) Once he looked up the address, it was super easy to find. It was 7 pm on Friday and the restaurant was busy but really not too bad. There were plenty of open tables. But, alas, the tables were only for reservations. For speed, we decided to just eat at the bar. We still had the full menu, the bartender was right on top of things and we met a couple of young couples who were our kids ages. They shared pictures of their little ones while we shared grandbaby pics. It was a lot more fun than we would have had at a table by ourselves. I ordered a pineapple margarita with a sugar rim. It was great and it was strong. I also ordered the queso (though I meant to order short rib queso) and an al pastor taco. My husband had a modello and one fish and one shrimp taco. We weren't extremely hungry but we didn't order quite enough. All three of our tacos were good but the queso was difficult to eat - it wasn't the creamy, dippable consistency that we are used to. We pretty much had to cut the cheese with the provided spoon and then lay the cheese on top of the chip. I did say we left a little hungry but we didn't finish the queso, it was just too hard to eat. When we were leaving, I looked around and still saw quite a few empty tables. The bar worked out well for us but it wouldn't have worked for a group. I'd like to come back for another pineapple margarita - maybe during our next year's weekend in Nashville.

Tacos were delicious, drinks and service were great, clean inside. Not much more you can ask for!

The tacos are pretty good but the rice is flavorless and I wasn't a big fan! The beans were good though. Our server was super friendly and had great service. It's a smaller establishment and it isn't too loud. You can easily carry a conversation and the crowd was pretty good. I enjoyed it but I wasn't crazy about it. May or may not be back!

The restaurant was pretty quiet and not crowded for taco Tuesday (all tacos were $3). We got a pineapple margarita which was really good and not short on the alcohol. The short rib queso was really good as well as the chips to dip in it. For tacos I got carnitas, short rib, and al pastor. All the tacos were pretty good I think the Al pastor was may favorite followed by the short rib the carnitas was a little dry.

This spot was pact and loud when we got there. The waiter was helpful in giving recommendation. Overall this is a solid 3.5 ! Drinks: strawberry rose margaritas was good but can get sweet. Didn't like the spicy pineapple marg! Food: the salsa trio or trio sampler which had two salsa and guac. The guac and salsa verde were delish! The red salsa had a smokey taste to it. The chicken taquitos were crunchy and delicious. Had great flavor and texture. The tacos overall were delicious and small size which was filling with the taquitos. My friend and I got two each. I would skip the portabella taco which could be seasonal as it seems like menu has changed. Also got the pollo verde, pollo rojas, and al pastor which were all delightful and tasty. I would def go back to try different tacos!

Stopped in for lunch. Service was 10/10 Love the overall vibe of this place We shared the chorizo queso. Good portion size. I had the seasonal margarita- cranberry ginger w/ blanco tequila. I had 2 and I never drink margaritas. Get one, get 2 even 3...they are soooo good! Split the carnitas tequitos. Good not exceptional. We loved the fish taco and the shrimp taco. The short rib taco needed salt. (No salt or pepper on the tables nor worth the ask for one small taco)

The service was phenomenal for our group! Loved the craft tacos here and the chips and salsa. We had several different craft cocktails and margaritas here and everything was great. Really glad we stumbled upon this place and gave it a try. If you are looking for high-quality tex mex in Nashville give it a try! The vibe is really great for small groups or even dates.

This is a pretty small taco restaurant that had a good little vibe. It does not scream Mexican food though from the outside or when you first step in. We happened to go here on a Tuesday which meant it was taco Tuesday! $3 tacos were great. We got the chips and salsa and queso as appetizers. The salsas were good but not typical. One was very smoker and the verde was very mild. The queso was extremely thick. Tasted good but it was hard to eat because of the top cheese layer. For tacos I got the short rib and carnitas. Both were good but both had a cinnamon or nutmeg type flavor which isn't my favorite. Service was 10/10. She did great.

First time here. Everything was fantastic, our server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. Super cute decor for Christmas, wish we were in town for their special events.

Found this place by accident. We were just walking around and wanted a place to eat but not directly downtown with all the live music. Popped into this place. The atmosphere is very rustic and nice. Lots of places to sit. We were server right away and told it was Taco Tuesday and tacos were $3 and certain beers were $3. So we took advantage. TACOS WERE AMAZING! We had 3 each. Shrimp taco, fish taco, chicken one, and short rib. My fav was the shrimp, but the others were very close seconds. Great service. Great food. Great location.

Order a beer and the shot of the day to get your afternoon started in this lively bar/ restaurant. The tacos are solid and the staff friendly. Even though the bartender was busy he had the time to have a brief kind exchange while I was ordering and checked back in after I inhaled the tacos. . Solid Nashville bar with good food near the hotels in downtown.

We stopped in here on a whim heading back to our hotel. Wow! What a great stop. The food looked awesome. But we were here to drink! Beer and whiskey were had by myself. They have an amazing Tequila collection too. Great service at the bar with a lively crowd made for a fun night. Great place to drink and I would love to try the food sometime too.

Came by for dinner on a Sunday with a party of 7 & no reservation - they were able to get us a table for 4, and split our party so the others ate at a standing table. It was OK. I'm glad they squeezed us in but PSA if you have a large party I would definitely recommend a reservation. Food was really good! Tried two tacos (you pay per taco) & the chips and quac. Everything was full of flavor and I was really happy with all the food. Service was good & bathroom was clean. There's paid parking lots nearby - no street parking.

In Nashville for fun and stopped into Bakersfield since it's around the corner from where we're staying. The atmosphere is casual and I liked the openness of the windows onto the sidewalk. We started with The Trio (chips, guacamole and 2 salsas) and my favorite was the guac! Chunky avocado and fresh! The chips were light and crispy, just as I like them. Since we were there they on Taco Tuesday it seemed appropriate to try theirs. I had a carnitas taco and a shrimp taco. I didn't care for the carnitas. There was a spice in it that seemed 'sweet' to me. The shrimp taco was delicious! Our service was not great. She was friendly enough but we were wanting salt (for our chips) and another time, in need of water for quite awhile. We couldn't catch her eye and she even waited on other people at our communal dinner table, but didn't look to our end of the table. Other than being a little disappointed with our server, I would stop in here again.

Had a great experience here. Cute place. Our server was Kailyn and she's fantastic! Super friendly and made great suggestions! I had a yummy cranberry margarita to start. We ordered queso, some tacos and a Johnny salad. The salad was so good!! I would go back just for that salad. The carnitas taco was my fave and the queso was delicious. We will definitely return if we are in town again. Thank you Kailyn for your great service! :)

So, the food is pretty good. Good gourmet tacos with most of the options you'd want, good guacamole and queso and salsa. Prices are really good too, especially compared to most of their competitors. A solid place particularly given its location. My only real dislike is the overall vibe/atmosphere. Dining is at picnic tables with groups seated right up against other parties and the music is played at what seems to be max volume. I love music. But, if you plan on having a conversation over dinner here you're going to struggle. For a place to grab affordable (but quality) carryout, or a spot to grab a quick lunch this works--but it strikes me as a herd them in, rush them out sort of spot not great for groups/dates/convos.

We came here before an event at the nissan stadium on a Saturday night. I made reservations online which worked out perfectly! I was able to get a NA margarita (pineapple) which was delicious. We got the Salsa trio and Papas Bravas. I really loved the Papas Bravas. Absolutely delicious. We got the short rib taco, chicken taco and shrimp Taco. They were all good but the shrimp was my favorite. We will be back soon!

This place is amazing! I've been there twice and both times the food was incredible and the service was fantastic. It is pretty loud in the restaurant, just a warning. You kind of have to yell to hear each other talk. Both the music and other people in the restaurant were pretty loud both times I went. I will definitely be back though because the food is that good!

Good food & service. A great place to start or end your night. Tasty Tacos & tequila! Their chips were delicious. We made reservations, but they had ample seating & were empty on the Saturday night that we visited at around 9.

This is a nice bar in downtown Nashville, TN. They've a nice tacos and beer, little bit of appetizers and very nice margaritas bar in town. Service is excellent, I recommend you to reserve table for weekend or if you walk-in for bar area, that is fun too. All foods and drinks is nice for us, and fasting service.

Keeping it very real with you about this place if you're in the mood for the best damn short rib tacos and the short rib queso... I literally can't wait until I come back. Walked in on a weekday for a quick lunch after leaving Vandy and sat at the bar. The service was top notch, the place was pretty spacious and busy. I sat at the bar and the bartender was incredible, made great recommendations. I wish I had gotten his name but I can report he had really pretty hair, maybe that will help! Needless to say if you're hungry for Tex-Mex style food, great service and quality food in a clean atmosphere in Nashville, give it a go. The drinks looked good too and they had tons of different tequilas but I abstained. I will be back!

Spicy Marg, queso with chorizo and the esquites were delicious! Service was friendly and fast. It's a little on the louder side, I didn't mind it but I know that's a thing for some people.

What is happening over there, Bakersfield?! This has been a delivery favorite for years, but our last two orders have been disappointing. The short rib queso is different, and the difference is not good. The guac is brown and looks/tastes old. Tacos taste good, but one has a hair in it :(

I had no expectations when visiting this restaurant & ended up being pleasantly surprised. It's in the downtown area & was right near our hotel. We got the guac, queso, a torta, & some tacos. All was really delicious! We went during happy hour & the queso & guac were $4 each! I will say it seemed like they were short staffed but the gentleman that helped up was really great! Overall I enjoyed the food!

If you've been looking for The Spot this is it! Pineapple margaritas are totally the best anywhere in town, is their specialty along with street tacos. The street tacos are really authentic and creative, so far pastor has been my favorite. Carnitas and fish tacos are top shelf also. Short rib taco next Have a bit of everything on the menu, I've had the taquitos and they're pretty darn good too The atmosphere is really relaxing with tv's and full bar, service has been off the charts good!! Thanks for great experience each time Don't miss out on the pineapple margaritas!!

Came in for dinner on a birthday trip to Nashville. I ordered two tacos and the chips and salsa platter and all were amazing! I also ordered the seasonal margarita, cranberry ginger and it was amazing too! The place is cute and the bar has hooks and chargers! The server was quick and friendly. Overall very impressed.

Another year later and another awesome dinner at Bakersfield. I recommend this place to all my friends whenever they ask for places to eat downtown. This CA girl loves Bakersfield, it tastes like home. I stopped in with some coworkers after an event at the Wildhorse Saloon. We shared all the tacos (how can you not). I even ate a second meal when a third coworker stopped in. Highly recommend trying all of them and getting the corn.

We loved the tacos at Bakersfield. Came here after a concert and they were Lifesavers considering it was midweek and most places downtown were closed. I tried the Seasonal margarita which is as delicious, and my husband got the caballero old fashioned which he enjoyed. We got an assortment of tacos to share and were very satisfied at the end of the night. Ashley was our waitress and she was amazing!

Yummy street tacos! Flavors are well balanced and ambience is fun and casual. Highly recommend if you are looking for something other than barbecue while in Nashville!

Happened upon this bar after hitting the small convenience store across the street. The bar looked very warm & inviting, unlike the madness a couple blocks over on broadway. The decor isnt overtly cheesy mexican, so I was pleasantly surprised to see their menu. Tacos and margs always hit the spot! Sat at the bar solo until my friends arrived. Felt very comfortable & attended to, without being rushed. I enjoyed a crisp tangerine beer on tap as I sat in the comfy stools. Bonus for hooks and charging outlets under the bar- absolutely love that! Tried the guac and shrimp tacos- honestly prob the best thing I ate in nash all weekend. The shrimp were plump and very lightly breaded, with lots of veggies & flavorful sauces. I also enjoyed the pineapple marg which the bartender recommended as I wanted a marg on the sweeter side. It was slightly sweet, honestly perfectly balanced and very enjoyable. The best surprise was how reasonable my bill was!

Ordered delivery for 4, got a taco kit which came with soft tortillas, got to choose 2 out of 3 meats, got the short rib and pollo verde (carnitas was the other option). Got a hongos taco and a huitacoche taco as well, and the trio appetizer (chips, guac, green salsa, red salsa). Esquites (corn) too. Delivery was seamless although the website doesn't allow for scheduling orders in advance. All the meats were fine, not amazing. The hongos and huitacoche were both quite flavorless. Liked the esquites because of its crispiness but again, not super flavorful or amazing. Red and green salsas were probably the best part of the meal, both had good flavors and were sufficiently spicy, guac was good too with fresh guac but again, not much flavor, just mashed avocado with a few slices of radish. $73 pre-tax, pre-delivery, pre-tip. $85 post-tax (~$7), post-delivery ($5). Quite pricey for what it was.

Service was FABULOUS, and tacos were pretty good. Would love to have a corn tortilla option, the flour over powered some of them in my opinion.

So Yummy! Queso was delicious 10/10 Tacos to die for 15/10 Rice&Beans 4/10. I would try another side item. Overall great service and cute place.

Been here more times than I can count. Never had a bad taco- really recommend the short rib and shrimp tacos, and they have the best guacamole in the city. They are always fresh tasting and delicious. Service is always from good to great. Beers hit the table quickly and refills right when you need them. Sure, this place gets a little loud, but what do you expect? It's downtown Nashville near Broadway!

We came here for dinner with a group of 12. We asked our waiter what's the best shareable option, but they actually have one on the menu! It's $20/per person for a few appetizers - chips and several types of dips, and then the 5 types of tacos. Honestly, it didn't seem like a lot, until it became a lot. The dips were all so good. The tacos were delicious too. I love that there's 5 different types of tacos and it was all throughout the table so no one was hungry afterwards.

Before all the Taco I normally eat all street type. This time is more exquisite Mexican restaurant it is located at nashville downtown 3rd street. Goggle review 4.5 with2192 comment。 The queso is one of the must to order(pic2). Which means cheese In Spanish. It have original flavor, short ribs flavor, etc. Mainly pick chips and dip with it. Serve at the appetizer. The best part are tacos! There are total 10 different types. We order everything except the short rib flavor. All of them all pretty tasty and good. Average recommendation is 3-5 Per person. We left 2 Taco Because We already so full. The amazing part is each Taco really have a totally different flavor and texture. Some restaurant will only chanhe the meat type and veggie. Overall the sauce is same. But This one is not. Some crunchy and tropical, some rich cream and juicy. Price is fair also. Each Taco is 4.5 dollars. So Average will be 30-40bucks/person. The drink menu looks pretty good as well! A lot of selection. But since we have plan after so we didn't order it. The service is awesome. Overall ambience is chill and enjoy. The time I pick(5pm) is very quiet and not busy. I am assuming after will be more loud.

Super good and fast service! Love that this place serve the food so fast and at the same time it feels really fresh and full of flavors. We have tried pretty much every taco on the menu and they are all great. My favorites are the shrimp and the el Pastor. The lodes queso is really great as a starter too. Super close to the Bridgestone arena so a good choice for a meal before a hockey game or a concert. The ambiance is relaxed and they have large tables if you are a bigger group too. Definitely recommend this place.

Might be my favoring Mexican place in Nashville. You will die for the pineapple margaritas. Tacos are street taco style but SO good. Great place, great atmosphere

Food was fair. Super small portions for price. Service was absolutely awful. Ambiance loud, western movies play instead of current sports games.

The atmosphere was very nice with ambient lighting. The service was wonderful. We enjoyed the Baja Shrimp tacos with the perfect flavors. The portion sizes are meant to order a variety which is great for experiencing the food. The margarita had a nice fresh and smooth flavor.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here on a Sunday morning around 11, and we really enjoyed it. I got a pineapple margarita, he asked for a Bloody Mary. The esquites (corn salad) was delicious with tortilla chips. I got one Baja shrimp taco and one carnitas taco - both delicious. He got the chicken taquitos which was also very good! We came at a time where it was nearly empty but by the time we left there were lots of people. Nice restaurant with nice bathrooms too.

Bakersfield!! I love this place. I went to the original back in Cincinnati so when I moved to Nashville I was happy to see it. It's pretty spacious! We went over the weekend around 4 pm and we were able to be seated for 5 people. We got the queso, which is just delicious. It's not like other queso at Mexican restaurants. It's a bit creamy, tad Smokey, and lots of ooey gooey cheesy. Our service was speedy. When we checked in, servers said they had a reservation for later in the evening. So I guess you can make reservations. Don't come here expecting to watch sports. They show old westerns! It's unique. I would definitely go back. They also have drink specials daily that vary based on the day.

We absolutely love this place. It's far enough from broadway that it isn't too packed and the vibe is very unique and warm. Every server we have ever had here is very friendly and informative. Their queso is different but so good especially if you get a side of pickled pepper with it! You have to get the margaritas if you come here as they have one of the best in Nashville in my opinion and I am a margarita snob for sure. My husband really enjoyed his chicken taquitos and I got several tacos to try as they are smaller sized. I would say the shrimp and pork ones were my favorite. Short rib is good but's a lot of meat.

Decor/service: clean setup and a very nice bar area. Service was a little bit of a let down. We only ordered waters and we got our appetizer and entrees prior to the water despite asking the waitress again about our drinks. 2/5 Food- Chips and queso: chips were nice and crispy but the queso was just middle of the road for me 3/5 Tacos- tried an assortment of tacos. I felt they went light on the crema/sauces. Each taco had pretty good flavor but just need a little more punch. 4/5

Went for cinco de mayo! They were really busy, as expected. But the hostess was so accommodating to our large group. She gave us a standing table where we could order drinks and apps and told us she even moved some things around to get us seated earlier than predicted. When we were seated, service was quick, and all the tacos we ordered were yummy. They were very small, especially for the price, but the presentation was very creative and everything tasted great. Would recommend for a girls night out or date night!
