The tacos were good but can be better: 1. Fish or shrimp taco: 3/5 - good but toped the shredded plain cabbage without any sauce, thought it was supposed to be a slaw some sort... 2. We stopped in for a late lunch and were seated right away. While the hostess wasn’t particularly welcoming, she did get us settled quickly. Our server, Delaney, was warm and attentive, which set a great tone for the meal. We started with the chips and guacamole (10/10) — fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight. We tried a variety of tacos; while most were just okay, the short rib and Baja shrimp stood out as our favorites. All in all, it was a good experience.

One of, if not the best taco spot in Nashville. The Taco’s are all top tier. But my personal favorite are the chicken taquitos. The queso, chips and dip are top tier also. Of course the margaritas hit!

We were quickly seated by the waitress and had the premier table. Anna was our waitress. She was fabulous. We had a Paloma and Margarita along with the pollo, carnita, short rib, and El Pastor. We also did the salsa trio. All were fabulous! Would recommend!

Coming from Texas, my expectations for Mexican food are pretty high, and while the food here didn’t quite hit that mark, it wasn’t bad either. The shrimp taco was definitely the standout, but the others were just okay. What really made the visit enjoyable was the exceptional service. We were helped by Maddy, Kenny, and Sarah — all of whom were kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Maddy was holding things down on her own behind the bar when we first arrived, and she handled it like a pro. Even solo, she made sure we were taken care of without missing a beat, and once the rest of the team joined in, the service only got better. Overall, while the food didn’t blow me away, the great service and welcoming atmosphere made for a solid experience.

What an incredible place for some tacos and drinks! We went on Tuesday for the 3 dollar tacos and 3 dollar shots of Tequila! Marshal was the absolute coolest bartender and really brought the best energy to the bar. My overall experience was a 10/10! I definitely record coming here if you want an awesome vibe and delicious food.

The service was honestly really great! I wish I would've asked our waiters name but he was awesome! The queso and guacamole were both excellent. We also got the salsa trio. Our son for the cheese quesadilla off the kids menu and it was good! I got the pastor tacos and they were tiny, but great! It was a relaxed atmosphere and we felt fine dining here in casual clothes. They had a full bar and there was no wait on a Thursday night! I would eat here again.

We wanted something quick, nothing fancy and didn't really want to pig out. Our concierge recommended Bakersfield. We walked quite a ways from our hotel when I asked my husband how much farther. He looked at me and said that they had given me the directions. He knows better than that - the single worst fight we have had in 35 years was because of my inability to read maps. (Thank heavens for waze but even that I can mess up) Once he looked up the address, it was super easy to find. It was 7 pm on Friday and the restaurant was busy but really not too bad. There were plenty of open tables. But, alas, the tables were only for reservations. For speed, we decided to just eat at the bar. We still had the full menu, the bartender was right on top of things and we met a couple of young couples who were our kids ages. They shared pictures of their little ones while we shared grandbaby pics. It was a lot more fun than we would have had at a table by ourselves. I ordered a pineapple margarita with a sugar rim. It was great and it was strong. I also ordered the queso (though I meant to order short rib queso) and an al pastor taco. My husband had a modello and one fish and one shrimp taco. We weren't extremely hungry but we didn't order quite enough. All three of our tacos were good but the queso was difficult to eat - it wasn't the creamy, dippable consistency that we are used to. We pretty much had to cut the cheese with the provided spoon and then lay the cheese on top of the chip. I did say we left a little hungry but we didn't finish the queso, it was just too hard to eat. When we were leaving, I looked around and still saw quite a few empty tables. The bar worked out well for us but it wouldn't have worked for a group. I'd like to come back for another pineapple margarita - maybe during our next year's weekend in Nashville.

The tacos are pretty good but the rice is flavorless and I wasn't a big fan! The beans were good though. Our server was super friendly and had great service. It's a smaller establishment and it isn't too loud. You can easily carry a conversation and the crowd was pretty good. I enjoyed it but I wasn't crazy about it. May or may not be back!

The short rib queso was really good as well as the chips to dip in it. For tacos I got carnitas, short rib, and al pastor. Didn't like the spicy pineapple marg! Food: the salsa trio or trio sampler which had two salsa and guac. The guac and salsa verde were delish! The red salsa had a smokey taste to it. The chicken taquitos were crunchy and delicious. Had great flavor and texture. The tacos overall were delicious and small size which was filling with the taquitos. My friend and I got two each. I would skip the portabella taco which could be seasonal as it seems like menu has changed. Also got the pollo verde, pollo rojas, and al pastor which were all delightful and tasty. I would def go back to try different tacos!

Stopped in for lunch. Service was 10/10 Love the overall vibe of this place We shared the chorizo queso. Good portion size. I had the seasonal margarita- cranberry ginger w/ blanco tequila. I had 2 and I never drink margaritas. Get one, get 2 even 3...they are soooo good! Split the carnitas tequitos. Good not exceptional. We loved the fish taco and the shrimp taco. The short rib taco needed salt. (No salt or pepper on the tables nor worth the ask for one small taco)

This is a pretty small taco restaurant that had a good little vibe. It does not scream Mexican food though from the outside or when you first step in. We happened to go here on a Tuesday which meant it was taco Tuesday! $3 tacos were great. We got the chips and salsa and queso as appetizers. The salsas were good but not typical. One was very smoker and the verde was very mild. The queso was extremely thick. Tasted good but it was hard to eat because of the top cheese layer. For tacos I got the short rib and carnitas. Both were good but both had a cinnamon or nutmeg type flavor which isn't my favorite. Service was 10/10. She did great.

Found this place by accident. We were just walking around and wanted a place to eat but not directly downtown with all the live music. Popped into this place. The atmosphere is very rustic and nice. Lots of places to sit. We were server right away and told it was Taco Tuesday and tacos were $3 and certain beers were $3. So we took advantage. TACOS WERE AMAZING! We had 3 each. Shrimp taco, fish taco, chicken one, and short rib. My fav was the shrimp, but the others were very close seconds. Great service. Great food. Great location.

Came by for dinner on a Sunday with a party of 7 & no reservation - they were able to get us a table for 4, and split our party so the others ate at a standing table. It was OK. I'm glad they squeezed us in but PSA if you have a large party I would definitely recommend a reservation. Food was really good! Tried two tacos (you pay per taco) & the chips and quac. Everything was full of flavor and I was really happy with all the food. Service was good & bathroom was clean. There's paid parking lots nearby - no street parking.

In Nashville for fun and stopped into Bakersfield since it's around the corner from where we're staying. The atmosphere is casual and I liked the openness of the windows onto the sidewalk. We started with The Trio (chips, guacamole and 2 salsas) and my favorite was the guac! Chunky avocado and fresh! The chips were light and crispy, just as I like them. Since we were there they on Taco Tuesday it seemed appropriate to try theirs. I had a carnitas taco and a shrimp taco. I didn't care for the carnitas. There was a spice in it that seemed 'sweet' to me. The shrimp taco was delicious! Our service was not great. She was friendly enough but we were wanting salt (for our chips) and another time, in need of water for quite awhile. We couldn't catch her eye and she even waited on other people at our communal dinner table, but didn't look to our end of the table. Other than being a little disappointed with our server, I would stop in here again.

So, the food is pretty good. Good gourmet tacos with most of the options you'd want, good guacamole and queso and salsa. Prices are really good too, especially compared to most of their competitors. A solid place particularly given its location. My only real dislike is the overall vibe/atmosphere. Dining is at picnic tables with groups seated right up against other parties and the music is played at what seems to be max volume. I love music. But, if you plan on having a conversation over dinner here you're going to struggle. For a place to grab affordable (but quality) carryout, or a spot to grab a quick lunch this works--but it strikes me as a herd them in, rush them out sort of spot not great for groups/dates/convos.

We came here before an event at the nissan stadium on a Saturday night. I made reservations online which worked out perfectly! I was able to get a NA margarita (pineapple) which was delicious. We got the Salsa trio and Papas Bravas. I really loved the Papas Bravas. Absolutely delicious. We got the short rib taco, chicken taco and shrimp Taco. They were all good but the shrimp was my favorite. We will be back soon!

You kind of have to yell to hear each other talk. Both the music and other people in the restaurant were pretty loud both times I went. This is a nice bar in downtown Nashville, TN. They've a nice tacos and beer, little bit of appetizers and very nice margaritas bar in town. Keeping it very real with you about this place if you're in the mood for the best damn short rib tacos and the short rib queso... I literally can't wait until I come back. Walked in on a weekday for a quick lunch after leaving Vandy and sat at the bar. The service was top notch, the place was pretty spacious and busy. I sat at the bar and the bartender was incredible, made great recommendations. I wish I had gotten his name but I can report he had really pretty hair, maybe that will help! Needless to say if you're hungry for Tex-Mex style food, great service and quality food in a clean atmosphere in Nashville, give it a go. The drinks looked good too and they had tons of different tequilas but I abstained. I will be back!

I had no expectations when visiting this restaurant & ended up being pleasantly surprised. It's in the downtown area & was right near our hotel. We got the guac, queso, a torta, & some tacos. If you've been looking for The Spot this is it! Pineapple margaritas are totally the best anywhere in town, is their specialty along with street tacos. The street tacos are really authentic and creative, so far pastor has been my favorite. Carnitas and fish tacos are top shelf also. Another year later and another awesome dinner at Bakersfield. I recommend this place to all my friends whenever they ask for places to eat downtown. This CA girl loves Bakersfield, it tastes like home. I stopped in with some coworkers after an event at the Wildhorse Saloon. We shared all the tacos (how can you not). I even ate a second meal when a third coworker stopped in. Highly recommend trying all of them and getting the corn.

Happened upon this bar after hitting the small convenience store across the street. The bar looked very warm & inviting, unlike the madness a couple blocks over on broadway. The decor isnt overtly cheesy mexican, so I was pleasantly surprised to see their menu. Tacos and margs always hit the spot! Sat at the bar solo until my friends arrived. Felt very comfortable & attended to, without being rushed. I enjoyed a crisp tangerine beer on tap as I sat in the comfy stools. Bonus for hooks and charging outlets under the bar- absolutely love that! Tried the guac and shrimp tacos- honestly prob the best thing I ate in nash all weekend. The shrimp were plump and very lightly breaded, with lots of veggies & flavorful sauces. I also enjoyed the pineapple marg which the bartender recommended as I wanted a marg on the sweeter side. It was slightly sweet, honestly perfectly balanced and very enjoyable. The best surprise was how reasonable my bill was!

Ordered delivery for 4, got a taco kit which came with soft tortillas, got to choose 2 out of 3 meats, got the short rib and pollo verde (carnitas was the other option). Got a hongos taco and a huitacoche taco as well, and the trio appetizer (chips, guac, green salsa, red salsa). Esquites (corn) too. Delivery was seamless although the website doesn't allow for scheduling orders in advance. All the meats were fine, not amazing. The hongos and huitacoche were both quite flavorless. Liked the esquites because of its crispiness but again, not super flavorful or amazing. Red and green salsas were probably the best part of the meal, both had good flavors and were sufficiently spicy, guac was good too with fresh guac but again, not much flavor, just mashed avocado with a few slices of radish. $73 pre-tax, pre-delivery, pre-tip. $85 post-tax (~$7), post-delivery ($5). Quite pricey for what it was.

Been here more times than I can count. Never had a bad taco- really recommend the short rib and shrimp tacos, and they have the best guacamole in the city. They are always fresh tasting and delicious. Service is always from good to great. Beers hit the table quickly and refills right when you need them. Sure, this place gets a little loud, but what do you expect? It's downtown Nashville near Broadway!

We came here for dinner with a group of 12. We asked our waiter what's the best shareable option, but they actually have one on the menu! It's $20/per person for a few appetizers - chips and several types of dips, and then the 5 types of tacos. Honestly, it didn't seem like a lot, until it became a lot. The dips were all so good. Serve at the appetizer. The best part are tacos! There are total 10 different types. We order everything except the short rib flavor. All of them all pretty tasty and good. Average recommendation is 3-5 Per person. We left 2 Taco Because We already so full. The amazing part is each Taco really have a totally different flavor and texture. Some restaurant will only chanhe the meat type and veggie. Overall the sauce is same. But This one is not. Some crunchy and tropical, some rich cream and juicy. Price is fair also. Each Taco is 4.5 dollars. So Average will be 30-40bucks/person. The drink menu looks pretty good as well! A lot of selection. But since we have plan after so we didn't order it. The service is awesome. Overall ambience is chill and enjoy. The time I pick(5pm) is very quiet and not busy. I am assuming after will be more loud.

Super good and fast service! Love that this place serve the food so fast and at the same time it feels really fresh and full of flavors. We have tried pretty much every taco on the menu and they are all great. My favorites are the shrimp and the el Pastor. The lodes queso is really great as a starter too. Super close to the Bridgestone arena so a good choice for a meal before a hockey game or a concert. The ambiance is relaxed and they have large tables if you are a bigger group too. Definitely recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here on a Sunday morning around 11, and we really enjoyed it. I got a pineapple margarita, he asked for a Bloody Mary. The esquites (corn salad) was delicious with tortilla chips. I got one Baja shrimp taco and one carnitas taco - both delicious. He got the chicken taquitos which was also very good! We came at a time where it was nearly empty but by the time we left there were lots of people. Nice restaurant with nice bathrooms too.

Bakersfield!! I love this place. I went to the original back in Cincinnati so when I moved to Nashville I was happy to see it. It's pretty spacious! We went over the weekend around 4 pm and we were able to be seated for 5 people. We got the queso, which is just delicious. It's not like other queso at Mexican restaurants. It's a bit creamy, tad Smokey, and lots of ooey gooey cheesy. Our service was speedy. When we checked in, servers said they had a reservation for later in the evening. So I guess you can make reservations. Don't come here expecting to watch sports. They show old westerns! It's unique. I would definitely go back. They also have drink specials daily that vary based on the day.

Their queso is different but so good especially if you get a side of pickled pepper with it! You have to get the margaritas if you come here as they have one of the best in Nashville in my opinion and I am a margarita snob for sure. My husband really enjoyed his chicken taquitos and I got several tacos to try as they are smaller sized. I would say the shrimp and pork ones were my favorite. Short rib is good but's a lot of meat.

Decor/service: clean setup and a very nice bar area. Service was a little bit of a let down. We only ordered waters and we got our appetizer and entrees prior to the water despite asking the waitress again about our drinks. 2/5 Food- Chips and queso: chips were nice and crispy but the queso was just middle of the road for me 3/5 Tacos- tried an assortment of tacos. I felt they went light on the crema/sauces. Each taco had pretty good flavor but just need a little more punch. 4/5

Went for cinco de mayo! They were really busy, as expected. But the hostess was so accommodating to our large group. She gave us a standing table where we could order drinks and apps and told us she even moved some things around to get us seated earlier than predicted. When we were seated, service was quick, and all the tacos we ordered were yummy. They were very small, especially for the price, but the presentation was very creative and everything tasted great. Would recommend for a girls night out or date night!
