"The Heights has a lot of kolache options vying for attention, and Bakery Donuts falls on the low end. Even though kolaches here are still tasty, the dough feels dense and tastes like a warmed-up dinner roll. Bakery Donuts works great as a regular donut shop, a place to grab a few dozen early mornings without waiting in line. photo credit: Liz Silva photo credit: Liz Silva photo credit: Liz Silva photo credit: Liz Silva photo credit: Liz Silva" - Chelsea Thomas

This is the worst donut shop I have ever been to. My children and I walked in at 5:18am the donuts were dry. How are donuts dry if you just opened. No mention the price is outrageous. I ordered three pink glazed donuts, one large kolache and 2 drinks. Totaling $20!!! I only tried this one out because my normal donut shop is closed on Mondays. I will never return not to mention the kolache was cold and when I asked if it could be warmed up she said it was warm enough. I'm very disappointed with the customer and the food itself. Please do not waste your money. I should have read the reviews before going.

Donuts are fresh everyday, and taste great. Always consistent! Customer service is amazing! And love their custom orders.

20 bucks for four dry donuts and two little juices is insane. Nothing jumbo, nothing fancy, just the little colored glaze donuts and 2 tiny croissant kolaches. Oh, and two capri suns. This was a last minute trip because the kids were hungry or I’d have gone to my regular place. I almost walked out.

We really had high hopes for these but was very disappointed! We decided to order donuts from here because their photos show great work and the donuts and shop are always so pretty. We ordered 12 flower donuts for our grandmother’s 90th birthday. We asked for bright colors, pink, blue, purple ,red and so on . We did not get that! I showed up to the donut shop and was told they would be picked up at 11. No big deal, that was a miscommunication on my part with my cousin. Told them no problem she’ll come back and pick them up at 11. She then comes back around to say well. You can take them now, but they’re not done! I said again no, it’s no problem she will get them later . we bought and paid for a kolache’s and left . 15 minutes later, she called my cousin, and says the donuts were ready. So I’m assuming that’s why these donuts look awful! They were rushed to be made! We bought 12 of these and paid $50 for them! How can you show such a great work and produce something this. We will definitely not be returning to tHis donut shop.

I asked for the picture on the left vs what I got. It’s my baby’s first birthday and this is what I have to present! When I came up to the store to please have them fixed she said no they look fine get out my store! Yelled at me in front of customers. I took the donuts and left. Terrible service and heartless!

I received excellent service. I was able to buy 4 dozens of donuts with no hesitation. Both ladies help each other put together my order. I will be coming back!!!!!

Google
I live right down the street from this donut place and ever since they’ve hired this new girl (I don’t remember her name) I’ve been coming more frequently. She is so friendly And conversational. She’s short and has glasses I wish I could remember her name!!! But I’ve been coming here for about two years and just now writing a review for her because she deserves appreciation

This place is absolutely amazing. My son and I have been coming here for over a year. The ladies are very friendly and the donuts are so delicious. Fluffy and delicious. They also have a huge selection and offer letter shaped donuts for birthdays or celebrations. Do yourself a favor and stop in. Our favorite is the maple eclair (no cream).

Yelp
I just moved to the area so I wanted to find a donut place that would do a good birthday donut for my son's class for his birthday. Since we didn't know how the donuts were here, he wanted me to pick some up so that he could do a taste test and figure out if he wanted to order donuts or cupcakes for school. Wednesday I picked up 4 donuts and paid around $6 for different kinds that had icing on them. My son liked them so we decided on these. The person I spoke with said that usually they have to take orders a couple days in advance I asked whether it would be OK if I called the next morning to order. I called Thursday morning and spoke with Roxanna. She told me that they were unable to get the letters done without at least 3 days notice. I told her what their employee said and she did not care. She said that they could make custom icing ones with the blue and white that I wanted for the next morning. She also said that I could only get 12 when I needed 24. She said that on Friday they bake extra blue ones so I would be able to buy those. She asked me if it was OK to charge me because it was a custom order. The total for 12 donuts $45. Well, I still wasn't getting the birthday donuts and I was only getting 12. I thought this price was a little bit high and I asked her about it. She said for the custom they are more and it's about a dollar and some change less for the ones that are already pre-baked when you walk in same donut. I needed these donuts for school, so I just went ahead and paid the $45. I planned to get some extra to take to the school. I ended up calling another couple of bakeries to get birthday letters. I ordered them and they didn't take a pre-payment. They got all the information for me and told me they would be $27 that was at Park Place donuts. So already I knew that I was being ripped off with the $45 because I wasn't even getting the birthday letters. When I got in to the store the next morning, they had my order ready and there wasn't orders all over the place like she had said the day before and that's why she could only give me 12. I only saw my order sitting on the counter. She told me that she used the ones from the tray that were already baked instead of giving me what I ordered. I asked about being charged for Custom when you didn't do custom ones. She said she still had to spend time putting birthday decoration on them. Well, there was only one birthday decoration on 1 donut and the rest were standard donuts that they make for the day. So had I just walked in and ordered donuts. I would've paid over a dollar less per donut which would still been high given that I was getting birthday donuts for $27 down the street. I still goy extra because she could only do 12. I was charged $16 no discount for overcharging on the order for 5 extra donuts. These donuts were decorated in a fish theme. So I didn't have time to argue about a discount or the fact that I was overcharged for some custom donuts that I didn't get because I had to get to the school and I had to have donuts. I left there knowing that I was going to leave this review to warn others about this place because I looked them up on yelp. They had decent ratings with good pictures. I am yelp elite, and I trust in the reviews that are on this site. I do not want someone to run into the same issue that I did, and get really over charged for donuts for a birthday when for the price I was charged over $60 for 17 donuts I could've gotten sprinkles cupcakes, nothing Bundt cakes... So many other things that were more costly than just donuts. The place wasn't busy when I walked in but when I got to the other donut shop that actually did the letters it was busy and I had to wait in line. I get up to the lady and she told me that she just finished my donuts and they were beautiful. She had some with gummy candy on them, Oreos, graham cracker, different, icing, and sprinkles. She really put time into those donuts unlike this place. Then I proceeded to get a few glazed in case some of the kids didn't like all the icing. That other donut shop gave me free donut holes. All I got from this one was overcharged two times and an attitude. I will never go here again and I should've looked closer at the one star reviews to know that they have done this before over the years. So here's a current review regarding this business and their practices. And I must reiterate that these donuts were like any of the donut places around town, they were not special or laced in gold. They weren't even custom like I was charged for on the order. They were just the standard donut for Friday in a fish, aquatic theme. however, I had already paid and then had to overpay for the additional five donuts. Terrible customer service and questionable business practices. I will not be back!

Yelp
This THE BEST donut shop in town. My son will not go anywhere else (we've tried!). They even did his birthday donuts for his school! They are kind, patient, but efficient. They have a variety of donuts and they are so beautiful! They are creative, but so delicious as well! Try their jalapeño bacon croissant!! It's the BOMB! Great customer service, can't ask for better experiences!

Yelp
I was told the cheddar Kolache's had cheese in the sausage by the worker. There wasn't any cheese in any of them. I will continue to go to the Paris Bakery for 1. They actually put cheese. 2. They don't charge 1.79 each for something that isn't true.

Yelp
These folks are awesome!!!! They make super hero donuts for little boys and girls!!!! Spell out HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Michael M.

Yelp
Bakery Donuts 1 offers the freshest handmade donuts in town. They also offer sausage rolls, sandwiches, and a variety of soft drinks and freshly brewed coffee. Stopping by Donuts 1 is definitely worth it.

Yelp
Over priced and a huge scam!!! When questioned about prices, ladies lost it and went on a tangent. Screaming and yelling, if your prices were fair; you would have no reason to scream irrationally. I never raised my voice. If you've got money to blow, this could be your spot!! If you are like me and a teacher or another working class citizen; go elsewhere for your kids. Deserves ZERO stars!!! Other truly amazing donut stores around the corner on Arkansas; behind the middle school. And QT even has a good donut hole! And yummy donuts. No threatening crazy women there.

Christine P.

Yelp
Man, I love giving out 5 stars when I can. They close at noon. Being the terrible person that I am, I called at 11:45 am to request customized donuts to pick up THE NEXT DAY (oops). But no worries for them! They're flex is strong and greatly squeezed me in. The lady I spoke with over the phone was very kind and helpful in finalizing the decorations and details of my order. The donuts turned out SO CUTE! I wasn't going for anything too fancy, so these were just perfect. My order came out to ~$38. Payment was taken over the phone, so when I popped into the store to pick up my donuts, the lady just handed me my box and I was out the door! Great service, great donuts, and great designs :) 100% recommend their services

Yelp
The donuts here are just satisfyingly good. Came here a got a bunch of their glazed donuts and they were delicious. The best thing about this particular donut shop Is they have cronuts that is just amazing good and you won't find that anywhere else. The prices here are decent and the staff are extremely nice. They even give you free donut holes when you leave. I mean, come on now!!!

Jen B.

Yelp
This is the cutest little donut shop donuts have super hero unicorns and all kinds of cute decorative donuts the girls that work there are super nice so glad we decided to go here

LaTashea C.

Yelp
I ordered some decorative donuts literally at the last minute for a graduation breakfast. All I told them was the school colors. When I picked them up they exceeded my expectations. They were so nice we didn't want to eat them!! I'm definitely placing an order ahead of time for the next function to see what they have up their sleeves for creativity!!

Taviana W.

Yelp
I know you can see the softness lol ! They are always so good , I've been to many donut shops and this one definitely stands out on products and personality alike. The staff is always friendly and, if cleanliness is next to godliness, they are right behind! :) I walked in and the first thing the woman behind the counter did, was wash her hands and greeted me. Even though they didn't have the exact donut I usually get. She did show me some great replacement options that I found rather enjoyable. Thank you again for the wonderful service and the delicious soft donuts !!

Sharon S.

Yelp
I called the morning of asking if they could make a custom order to pick up in a few hours. They were able to, gave me a great price, and took the time and gave me options of how I wanted my donuts to look like. They even made a peanut butter cup donut on the spot for me when I asked if they had any PB flavored donuts available. Highly recommend this place for service and food! Their cronuts are amazing!

Allison C.

Yelp
This place was awesome. They took my order and payment over the phone and emailed me when they were ready! Happy birthday donuts were a success! Thank you for making these for my daughters birthday they loved them.

Kim N.

Yelp
Over priced happy bday donuts and rude customer service! They have more than doubled the price from last year. I should have ordered a fondant cake for that price. Don't go here to go get ripped off! I went to another shop that charged me $19 for the same order!

Yelp
Service - 3 Stars Donuts - 4 Stars Apple Fritters - 5 Stars Tiny little donut store, that also sells lunch food, located at Matlock and Arbrook, near Costco in Arlington. I've never eaten their lunches, because I don't want to displease my stomach. And I've only eaten their donuts because my stomach makes me. I don't want to, I try to be good and eat healthy, but with me, my stomach is HE WHO MUST BE OBEYED. They've got great donuts, the kind that have lots of icing. It makes a sweet crust around their caked donuts, so they're almost crunchy on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. They have all kinds, of course, but if you don't go early, you only get the leftovers. Like going to a garage sale on Saturday that started on Friday. My particular favorite is the Apple Fritters. They should establish an International Standard for Apple Fritters, because the variety of fried dough products professing to be Apple Fritters can run from as flat as a dime to as thick as a hamburger patty. They can be from the diameter of a regular donut to the size of a good chicken fried steak. It's very frustrating for us connoisseurs of the Donut. So I hereby nominate the Apple Fritters made at Donut & Lunch in Arlington, Texas as the benchmark by which all other Apple Fritters are to be henceforth compared. This place makes them about 9" long and about 3/4" thick. The size is important so that the dough can soak up more of the fried oil and sugar frosting, almost carmelizing these into the fritter. It is also a must that there be large enough apple bits in the batter so that you can see and taste them in every bite. An apple fritter made like this is a work of culinary art, a monument to human gluttony and the direct precursor to obesity and heart attacks. But don't blame me, blame that damned stomach of mine. He's the one who's the boss around here.

Mackenzie F.

Yelp
It was amazing service and the donuts tasted really really good. All around 5 stars please go and help yourself!

Tonita C.

Yelp
This shop is right by my kid's school, so we drop in often to have a quick breakfast before school starts. I've noticed the selection of donuts has increased within the last year, as have the prices. From my experience, they are priced moderately higher than other shops within the area. Based on this, we haven't been as frequently. On the plus side, staff is always friendly and welcoming!

Michael S.

Yelp
I picked up a cinnamon-something frosted cake donut, a croissant-donut (their name in the display case -- I know what they're usually called), and an apple fritter. All three were GOOD, but there was nothing "special" about them. This place is close enough to work, though, that I would probably drop in again. So, yeah, I'll say I'm a fan. :)

Cyndi R.

Yelp
Very unprofessional, poorly managed and overpriced. Placed a customized order to be picked up at 6 am the following day. When I showed up, the workers said it will not be ready until 7 am. So owner did a very quick and plain decoration. WAS NOT WORTH THE MONEY, we won't be back.

Amelia P.

Yelp
Wow what a selection here. I'm a kolache girl myself and there are like 10 different savory options. For sweet lovers, they have donuts with fresh fruit on top, designs in the icing, even some kind of lighted donut with a small light on top. Highly recommended!

Kate C.

Yelp
Went here on my visit to Arlington as part of my quest to visit a donut bakery a day, and this place didn't let me down! Light, fluffy donuts; fresh coffee; and very friendly service. My son loved the decorated donuts. Well worth a trip!

Janelle S.

Yelp
Always stop here to pick up donuts for my employees. The staff is super friendly and one of the main reasons I continue to frequent here...plus the donuts are delicious the jalapeño and cheese kolaches are the bomb

Shelby V.

Yelp
Best donut shop in Arlington. The people who own it are just as sweet as there donuts. The kolaches are to die for! I love the sausage and bacon ones and the plain. The strawberry glazed donut is also sooo good. Whether you like cake donuts or traditional glazed, they have it all. As a student, this place is the right price and best breakfast.

Madison M.

Yelp
This quaint donut shop really caught me off guard. They have these kolaches that are wrapped in a croissant rolls and they are the best I have ever had. I'm also not a huge plain glazed donut gal, but my friend got one and I took a bite and they are AMAZING. Every donut I had was really good and I will definitely be going back. I'm a UTA student and this has become my new morning stop for delicious donuts and kolaches.
