I was happy to make it to Lorraine’s Bakery. The atmosphere was great, nice customer service. The pastries were delicious and outstanding coffee. The breakfast sandwich on the other hand was a big disappointment. Too much salt on the eggs and Turkey couldn’t even continue eating my sandwich. I thought it was probably just me but my guest agreed it was way too much salt. It’s definitely going to compost and even my dad said it wasn’t acceptable. With that being said just easy on the salt. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Way too much money for coffee and a danish since the rest wasn’t edible. Last note the bathroom sink needs cleaning overall great place.

Yours truly

Google
This was a cute, quaint spot. Their coffee was not my favorite selection. But the coffee was not bad. I believe the majority of people come here for their baked goods. And baked goods is what I got. I will say that their pastries that are supposed to be flaky or extra flaky and delicious. I was not the biggest fan of us their cinnamon bun. However, they have a wide variety of baked goods. I am excited to continue to try them all.

Google
Bad attitude at the counter, pastry wasn't warmed up and cold, waited 10mins to get our coffee, tables were dirty, last time I came it wasn't this bad. Also, there are not many choices in coffee flavors. The wait staff bringing out the food were definitely working hard! Kiddos to them! That's the only reason I'm giving service a 5 star.

Google
I went to get two boxes of macaroons that were a request from a friend. The staff was very friendly. Both Gabby and Aaron helped me with my order and had great customer service with my many questions and requests. I didn’t know if I like macaroons but was given a sample and definitely wanted more. I will return or send others

Google
The first time I came here, all of the pastries were sold out so I was super sad! I came back today and was so happy that I got the last kouign amann lol. I have been wanting to try this for a long time! It was big and fluffy and had a yummy lemon cream filling inside. It is coated in something sugary and sweet so your hands will get sticky. It wasn't warm but it was still really good! Lots of seating inside and outside. The line to order went by really fast and was efficient.

Bakery Lorraine – A Delightful San Antonio Gem If you’re in San Antonio and looking for an exceptional bakery experience, Bakery Lorraine is the place to be. This spot is a true treasure, offering an array of amazing pastries that are nothing short of perfection. Each pastry is crafted with care, delivering a wonderful balance of flavors and textures that will leave you wanting more. As well delicious hot Matcha latte But the highlight of my visit was their crustless vegetable frittata. These were simply divine – creamy, flavorful, and satisfying, showcasing a creative twist on a Southern classic. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast or a midday treat, Bakery Lorraine promises a memorable experience filled with deliciousness. Highly recommended for pastry lovers and anyone seeking a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with food that feels like a hug for your taste buds!

Google
Large line of people at noon 1/23/25 at Lorraine Bakery. Finally got through the line and ordered two bowls of tomato soup. 35 minutes later they told us they ran out of soup and we would have to wait until they fixed another batch. We got a refund. One lady ordered and paid for soup and sandwich. She got half a sandwich, no soup and no refund. Others said the salads were not worth eating. Find somewhere else!

Google
I completely forgot to take photos inside cause I was in a hurry but we enjoyed the treats we picked up! We bought a croissant that my daughter said was delicious, a chocolate chip cookie which was a little hard but was still good, and a strawberry vanilla bean pannacotta that my daughter and I shared and really enjoyed!!! The staff was very friendly, it was around lunch time which was pretty busy, will stop again to try coffee and different pastries next time!

Celeste N.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this bakery while visiting the Pearl and I am so glad we did. I got a chocolate croissant, BL BLT sandwich and a brown sugar latte, all of which exceeded my expectations. I asked for the croissant to be warmed it and it was super flakey and buttery! The BLT definitely stole the show for me. I loved how the bacon was thin and crispy, how thin and chewy the bread was and the perfect amount of avocado. We came in on a Sunday about 11am and it was getting pretty busy, most of the tables were taken. I didn't know they had one in Austin as well so I will definitely want to see if it tastes the same, I had a great experience here!

Yelp
13 Dec 2024 Went in today after we ate dinner at Best Quality Daughter. Yeah I know, we're pigs. Not really. We took our pastries home. We took with us an almond croissant , cinnamon roll and a triple ginger cookie. The server asked us if we would like some free slightly cracked items. Sure! We ended up with a small sack of various macarons!! For free! What damage? Thanks. Go there.

Sicily H.

Yelp
Their stunning pastry display make it hard to choose, but the S'mores Tart stole the show. With rich chocolate ganache, gooey toasted marshmallow, and a buttery graham cracker crust, it's a gourmet twist on a childhood favorite. I'll definitely be back to try more.

David G.

Yelp
My absolute favorite place to visit for a coffee, almond croissant, or lunch. Great options for snacks, breakfast or lunch.

Destiny L.

Yelp
I found the Bakery Lorraine while I was killing time in the Pearl district. I was already caffeinated from enjoying one of the nearby cafés, but decided to grab a snack. I tried the cheesecake which was really interesting. For the most part I enjoyed the slice, but it did taste a little stale. If I went back, I'd probably try something else. Overall, it was very busy, but things seem to move for other fast. Service was fast and friendly and they had good wifi access.

Yelp
Bakery Lorraine is a must when visiting The Pearl! This amazing bakery specializes in French pastries ranging from macaron, cakes, viennoisseries, and breakfast pastries. Besides their amazing pastries, they also have a fabulous breakfast and lunch menu which is a must. Some of my favorite items from their menu are their avocado on toast, BLT sandwich and Cuban sandwich. If you are not that hungry, you can never go wrong with a box of their delicious macaron! Also, if you are looking for some pies for your thanksgiving dinner, make sure to check out Bakery Lorraine! They have some amazing thanksgiving pie options and you can always place your order a couple weeks in advance (I believe that's what is preferred). Last but not least, I really love how Bakery Lorraine partners with different local nonprofits to give back a portion of the sales of a specific baked good to help them. It is so nice to see that they are staying true to our local values and finding ways to always give back to the community through their amazing food.

Xochitl G.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to WFH. Service is fast, and coffee is good. Seating is a bit tricky when foot traffic is high, like any other coffee shop. They have a small window for pastry orders - sometimes it's open.

Cristina B.

Yelp
Stopped by for an afternoon pick me up before lunch at the Pearl food court. I ordered an iced chai tea latte, the best I ever had. My friend ordered a matcha latte, and my mom ordered a regular house coffee. We were all very satisfied with our order. Very inviting and lively ambiance! Indoor and outdoor seating and a "to go" window to order from. Staff was friendly and service was great/prompt! Definitely coming back to try their pastries and other menu items!

Vy T.

Yelp
Would definitely recommend. The coffee was hot, the overall vibe of the cafe was cozy in a cute way, and the service was attentive and friendly as well. The location is amazing as it's right in the Pearl area. The seasonal fruit tart, a popular menu item, was A+++. So good and fresh!

Daphne S.

Yelp
Was craving a tiramisu and was in the pearl. Decided to stop in. Was also wanting a chocolate croissant but they didn't have any. The shop was beautiful and lovely. The service was good too. A bit expensive!! The tiramisu was tasty and similar to what I had in Italy.

Carree W.

Yelp
A cute small bakery located at the Pearl. I love their selections of pastries. Decided to try their Kouign Amann and enjoyed it! They were busy the day we were there, but the line went by fairly quick. Sadly, they were out of their french toast which is something my daughter wanted. So we will go back for that and try out other pastries.

Annie H.

Yelp
I went to get two boxes of macaroons that were a request from a friend. The staff was very friendly. Yelp
Amazing service, staff made my day and the macaroons are delicious with unique flavors, location set in a very cute upscale square.

Yelp
Having gone to Bakery Lorraine a couple times, this has definitely become my go-to bakery whenever I visit San Antonio. There are other coffee shops nearby, but if you are willing to wait in line then I personally feel you might as well go to Lorraine as I am a fan of their drinks and their pastries. The service is always very friendly and it is a comfortable spots to sit around in. The wait can get a bit long during prime hours, but it is worth it to me. I enjoyed their cuban sandwich, almond croissants, and hazelnut tarts the most. In my last couple visits I also ordered the chai latte and iced mocha and they were one of the better beverages I have had in my trip. The hazelnut tart was also one of the best tarts I have ever had. The rich hazelnut flavor and the texture was so perfect while not having an overpowering sweetness to it. Their almond croissants are pretty popular also as they were sold out when I came during my most recent trip, but it was so good. 10/10 for everything. I highly recommend a trip here if you visit the Pearl.

Tammie R.

Yelp
The delightful macarons are a true treat, perfect for any occasion. The assorted 12-pack is ideal for sharing, and guessing the flavors together is a fun game we do with guests that visit us. If you're a macaron lover, you won't be disappointed! PS: They offer Military Discounts. Thank you, Bakery Lorraine, for supporting our Veterans!

Gyu S.

Yelp
one word: delightful. soo glad this bakery offers a student discount because WOW it has the best pastries, cakes, and cookies. the interior is very cutesy and the workers are very sweet to me. if you're there, GET THE GRAPEFRUIT TIRAMISU!

Yvette K.

Yelp
Not sure why this is so highly rated. Maybe the sandwiches are good. We came here for baked goods to have with coffee. Unfortunately, they had a dismal variety! We opted for a cheesecake muffin to split and a cookie Both looked good. Sadly, they were dry tasteless and not even very sweet. Terrible. Especially if you love cookies as I do! I literally threw it into the trash The coffee wasn't any better All in all a big disappointment. The two stars are for the cuteness of the place and its location. Really nice area full of little shops and families

Jamison G.

Yelp
Incredible. The gold standard for bakeries in all of the US in my opinion. Great coffee, great pastries, great breakfast and lunch entrees.

Joshua R.

Yelp
The food was so amazing and coming from a guy. The French toast should the called better then sex French toast!!

Amanda R.

Yelp
We ordered a coffee, cheesecake, and the fresh fruit tart. The pastries were beautiful, and tasted amazing! The staff was friendly, and the view of the people passing by, and children playing was a cherry on top.

Cassie H.

Yelp
Friendly staff, and their offerings are quite plentiful. Macarons were airy, tasty, and fragrant. The little box they pack them in is a small work of art, so I had to get some for my daughter back home. I just wish their coffee were a little stronger, so get that extra shot.

Sameh A.

Yelp
We ran across this French bakery while exploring the pearl, they have a good selection of pastries and macrons , I ended up getting the rum cake which was fantastic , not too sweet and had walnut pieces inside. The rum flavor was a bit heavy but really enjoyed it. I also got a matcha latte which was average, I like it stronger but the flavor was not very prominent. Service was great and people were friendly. Ambiance was ok and I wasn't a fan of the seating areas, they were uncomfortable and tables were wobbly. Good pastry shop overall

Thomas D.

Yelp
Boring, undercooked, and inconsistent. Bakery Lorraine continues to disappoint, not because they aren't capable of producing great food but because they can't get reliable quality at their Pearl location. Please refer to the picture attached, the potatoes are lifeless, underseasoned, and undercooked, this is fairly obvious based on the picture. The quiche, their namesake Quiche Lorraine is runny and undercooked. It's been consistently disappointing over the last year, I've had all of these items and they CAN be delicious. Also, about the croissants, sometimes they're amazing (flaky, pulls apart, layered) but most times they (have internal bubbles, are overcooked/bready, or with internal bubbles). Chef, please re-evaluate the quality control at your Pearl location.

Brandie B.

Yelp
They pissed me off today!! I've been in there many times, ordered salads and sandwiches. They tried to screw me before on my salad and tell me their blue cheese is their white cheese. Lied! I've had their blue cheese before, and it was blue cheese they gave me crumbled cream cheese. She came back with a small bowl of blue cheese and said sorry after I showed her my pic of my salad, the say before. This time, I ordered grilled cheese sandwiche with bacon and asked for fries in substitution of the chips. They wanted to charge me $24.00. They've never charged me $24.00 for that order. She told me it's $5.00 for fries. I asked how much the fries were separately, and she said $5.00. That's not a substitution that's an additional charge. I told her I should then be getting fries and chips then. Her reply I'm just doing what I'm told to do. Wth! Then I waited 45 mins for my order, and I got the worst grilled cheese sandwich served crumbled cheese and 1 slice of bacon, it didn't even hold the bread together. Wasted my time 45 mins, and they didn't even say sorry and offer to remake it. They just refunded my order and stayed silent. Additionally, The Cellars need to find someone else to garnish their complimentary breakfast this place isn't worth funding! I walked myself to the Boiler House after this screw up. They've always served me right! I wish I had taken pics of the sandwich, but I was so pissed off that my time was wasted. All I wanted to do was get out of there and get good service and food somewhere else. People make sure you ask questions and pay attention to the prices. Desperation shouldn't turn into scamming people behind the counter. You insult me, and you'll get a review accordingly!

Lauren S.

Yelp
Popped in for a few baked goods, we got the pain au chocolat and strawberry pop tart. Both were a hit! Cute ambiance and quick service.

Nicole C.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food here. It's fresh, tasty, and wholesome. Service wasn't too bad. The ambiance is similar to any cafe. The pastries were absolutely my favorite part.

Shahrzad Y.

Yelp
I keep trying it in the hopes of liking it and i guess its just not for me. Granted i only try the pastries and coffee. The coffee is ok but the pastries are just not what id like from a place with Bakery in its name. Staff are always friendly and plenty of room to sit. Must say that their pastries are generally sold out so i know that sooooome love it. But if you want, for example, French tasting pastries, this place isnt it. American style pastry? Yes!

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Great location and cute place! Located in the center of the Pearl it's a perfect place to grab a cup of fancy joe on your walk around the riverwalk. They have breakfast as well and delicious desserts which includes macaroons. Although quite busy, so plan ahead, or get there early, staff always has a smile.

Victoria V.

Yelp
I rarely go to Bakery Lorraine in the Medical Center these days. Sometimes I want coffee and a plain croissant, but the croissants are STALE. Shouldn't that be one of BL's signature items? Also, not long ago I ordered a full breakfast. The eggs were greasy, not fluffy. For the relatively high prices BL charges, the food should be much better. One thing I do appreciate about BL is the employees. They are unfailingly courteous and provide good service.

Mackenzie M.

Yelp
I love Bakery Lorraine. Every time I am in SATX, I make sure to hit up this bakery for breakfast. The seasonal fruit taste is perfectly sweet with a vanilla custard. I also recommend the Quiche Lorraine if you are a fan of caramelized onions. You can get a side salad or potatoes, I went for the salad which was fresh and lightly dressed. I've never had anything disappoint me from here

Rhonda P.

Yelp
Drinks & desserts all look great here! Tried a few & enjoyed, the staff here are friendly and helpful

Tatyana F.

Yelp
Those. Chocolate. Croissants. Seriously, best thing ever outside of Paris. And no, do not share, those croissants. Yes, they are huge but totally worth it. Also, great spot for coffee. Get some of those macaroons to go, they make good gifts. One small caveat: this is a popular place day and night, so prepare for long lines and somewhat slow service. Don't go there if you are in a hurry.

Lori V.

Yelp
STAY AWAY!! Regret not taking a photo!! My sister and I both ordered quiches that were way undercooked and runny on the inside...actually even noticeable on the outside. Extremely mushy! After requesting they remake it and receiving it undercooked again I asked for a refund (which they did). The manager was very rude and without him knowing I was listening, I overheard him tell kitchen staff " I'm just gonna tell them it's cooked"- this was before receiving the meal the second time. He didn't care to even inspect the quiche for himself and insisted to me that it was cooked correctly. Also never apologized! I have eaten quiche here many many time at 2 locations, I think I would know when the quiche is undercooked! This place has gone downhill and definitely not worth it!

Gill S.

Yelp
Came in at the last hour of operation on a Saturday night. They closed their kitchen for hot foods fairly early that night, so I stuck with only trying out their macarons. All their macarons were delicious, except for birthday cake. Pina Colada, Honey, Cassis (berries), Triple Vanilla, and Raspberry were full of flavor and fragrance. The birthday cake didnt taste like much of anything. A few of these flavors I got for free, as they decided to give me some additional broken ones close to closing time. That was nice of them.

Alexandra P.

Yelp
I tried this place months ago and never stopped thinking about their butter cake. It is truly something special! So soft, moist, and sweet in a way that is not over powering. Was visiting San Antonio this weekend and made a point to stop here and get some of their butter cake again along with a few more things. Their butter cake was just as delicious as it was months ago. I also got to try their lemon cake and fruit tart. Not only are they beautiful pastries, but they also taste amazing. This place is really worth a trip to San Antonio! I am already dreaming of going back!

Arianne Victoria A.

Yelp
I remember when Bakery Lorraine was on the opposite side of the Pearl in a quaint home. Now it has blown up and for good reason. Their bakery is everything. Full of flavor and creativity, stopping here never gets old. They might get so busy that the staff may seem rushed and a little off putting. My experiences here did feel that way lately, but it has not stopped me from raving about the pastries. The Pearl location is the busiest and coming here on a regular Tuesday is much more manageable and probably the best time to go.

Renée M.

Yelp
Met up with a friend and her baby on a dreary, overcast day. The sun came out after about 2 hours but with the wind, it was still a bit cool. I couldn't decide what to eat so we just got Matcha Lattes while we settled down and chatted a bit. Our Matcha Lattes were a bit too sweet. I had mine with Almond Milk and hers had regular milk but she requested vanilla syrup. I don't know if the Matchas are already sweetened like they are at Starbucks but these were too sweet. I ended up using hot water to dilute mine. After perusing the menu, I ordered a Morning Bun to go and French Fries w/the garlic aioli to eat at the restaurant. I was a little disappointed at the fries as they were limp and lukewarm. The aioli was tasty, though. Service was inconsistent as servers would serve us but not remove our order numbers that were on the table? We weren't asked if we needed our plates/cups removed so I bussed it myself and brought it up to the counter to ask where I could put them? A server took them from me when I asked her where to put them? The pastries, Macarons & cakes looked delicious as usual so I think I'll stick to just the core items since I know they're tasty.

M C.

Yelp
The food presentation was really eye-catching. I just returned from Paris but missed trying the almond croissant. So, I came to Bakery Lorraine for a French almond croissant. However, having just tried superb French croissants at boulangeries in Paris, the one I tried here didn't quite impress me. It wasn't crunchy on the outside and extra soft on the inside. Thinking of having it reheated since I ordered this at 3 PM, heating it up might improve the quality of their croissant. However, they said that didn't happen because the food had been in the common area already. Heating it up wasn't offered for our food before they handed them to us. I commend Starbucks because they do a better job of heating up sandwiches before they are handed to the customer. This almond croissant is disappointing. The service was good, quite attentive and helpful. Customer service receives a positive feedback. Today's ambiance is better than previous visits.

Abigail L.

Yelp
Our visit to Bakery Lorraine during a field trip to the San Antonio Museum of Art was an absolute delight. The students' enthusiasm was palpable as we indulged in a variety of pastries, including red velvet, cheesecake, macarons (vanilla and earl grey), moon pie, chocolate cookie, and chocolate croissant. Despite the busy lunchtime crowd, the service was outstanding, and we appreciated the refreshing water. The overall experience was amazing, leaving us thoroughly satisfied before our stroll back to SAMA.

Hongsuk S.

Yelp
Came for a weekend brunch that coincided with an outdoor farmer's market and it was super busy. Line moves pretty quick though but good luck finding seating indoors. Quiche Lorraine - $9.50 - 4.5/5 Excellent quiche that came with a fresh clean salad on the side. Little heavy on the price for just one slice of quiche and a small salad, but I would get this again. Delicious. Almond Croissant - $4.00 - 3.5/5 I can see the almond croissant being very good if it were fresh. I would imagine the croissant being warm and fluffy. Unfortunately, by the time I got mine, it was hard and crunchy. They did add a sweet honey mixture on the inside which was delicious, but not enough to counteract the pain the roof of my mouth suffered on a $4 croissant.

Truc N.

Yelp
Super cute bakery at the Pearl. All the pastries looked amazing. We ordered our food and drink at the counter, they gave us a number and we sat outside waited for our food. We ordered the following: - seasonal fruit tart: super yummy and good amount of sweetness and tartness. I really enjoyed the mascarpone cream. - Cuban: stuffed with meat and veggies. Very tasty. - salmon on everything croissant: dill cream cheese was delicious. - croissant sandwich: sausage and eggs sandwiches. The croissant nice and flakey. - latte: pretty good. Nothing special. Definitely come back here for the food and maybe try another drink.

Kirstin B.

Yelp
Best macaroons I've found in San Antonio so far! I'm from New York. The seasonal fruit tart was divine and love how festive the pastries and cakes get for the holidays!

Dana K.

Yelp
Stopped in here with my daughter for brunch. It's at The RIM and close to UTSA. It is a little on the pricier side, but as is everything in The RIM. The only thing we wouldn't order again would be the Pain au Chocolat as it didn't seem fresh and was dry. Overall very good and we'll be back.

Islandgirl G.

Yelp
I'm so impressed with how their bake goods are so fresh and sweet on the eyes. And to be open mid day? Checking all the boxes. Customer service is so gracious. It's a bit pricy for some baked goods but well worth the experience.

Preston W.

Yelp
Usually this place is great but the new management is doing a poor job with training employees. I wait over 30 minutes for an iced coffee. When I went up to the register to inquire the employees realized they forgot my order and then placed me back in the queue for another 20 minutes. They could have easily made my iced coffee but instead had me wait longer. Poor poor management. I'll look for another place for my coffee

Aaron S.

Yelp
The only thing disappointing about this place is the line to wait for amazing baked sweets and delicious food!

Doretta W.

Yelp
A fresh review is in order. I really love watching the Pearl wake up in the morning ... getting ready for the farmers market. Bakery Lorraine is a great place to grab a coffee, pastry or breakfast plate. Today was quiche Lorraine with bacon and cheese and a side.of potatoes. The quiche was light and fluffy. The potatoes could have used more flavor, but they were cooked perfectly. At the cost of just $12 I was surprised how much was on the plate. The coffee is always good and nutty. I added a half dozen macaroons for later. The service was fast, friendly and polite.

Jess T.

Yelp
Snagged a table before the weekend crowd sprang into action. My sandwich was massive and wasn't exactly prepared for that. Wasn't sure too much about the set up but had to grab water and napkins on my own. Wasn't a huge fan of the hazelnut tart and the macarons were ok. I enjoyed people watching and sitting in the sun while brunching.

Christine J.

Yelp
I came here for lunch with a friend. We decided we wanted to try a few things and landed on splitting the tomato soup, croque madame and turkey pesto sandwich. There were a few open tables and the way it's set up is you order at the counter, take a number and they bring you your food. They had a wide selection of macaroons that looked decadent but I did not order any due to a recent diet. My negative note regarding this place is the slow service. It took a very long time to get our food, I thought they might have forgotten about us. But eventually it did come. Below are my food ratings: -tomato basil-5/10- this wasn't anything special, I don't think i would order it again. Wasn't bad but didn't stand out to me. -croque madame-10/10-incredible dish! I loved it everything about it. The sauce was amazing, so creamy and filling. Ham tasted fresh, get this item!! -turkey pesto-8/10-solid sandwich, I'm not the hugest fan of red peppers but the pesto was very good and the way they toasted it I really enjoyed. I would come back for the croque and possibly try the macaroons.
