Google
Absolutely delicious bakery with indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend the oaty chocolate chipwich. If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, stop here.

Google
The place is super cute but the food doesn’t match the cost. It was quite expensive for some low tier food. I feel that grocery store cakes are much better than this unfortunately. The service wasn’t great and she put my cupcake in a paper bag which resulted in a mess.

Google
Visited this place for the first time. Everything in the display looked amazing. I got a couple cookies that were some of the best I’ve ever had. Big, chewy and just enough crunch. The staff was so helpful giving us suggestions, they even gave us a cupcake to try out for next time. Though next visit I really want to try one of the massive ice cream cookie sandwiches. I highly recommend this place for a sweet treat fix, prices were reasonable.

Google
Delightful little bakery with cute vibes and a phenomenal selection of treats. I first fell in love with the Georgetown location of Bakeshop for its variety of vegan and gluten-free items, and the Clarendon spot is no different. They offer a ton of standard, vegan, or gluten-free cookies, cupcakes, and cakes; each one is as delicious as the next. However, if you're in the mood for something savory (and distinctly non-vegan), their breakfast sandwiches are also delightful. I passed the Clarendon Bakeshop location on my way to the metro station on a Friday morning and decided to stop to treat myself to a nice, warm breakfast. I got their everything croissant -- which is perfectly flaky and comes studded with plenty of everything bagel seasoning -- and added a scrambled egg and slice of cheese. The egg was perfectly soft and fluffy, and the melted cheese helped to bind the whole thing together. You usually have to wait for a few minutes for the breakfast sandwiches, but the space is nice and cozy, and it's a good opportunity to peruse their pastry selections.

Ordered delivery for a co workers birthday. They delivered perfectly to downtown D.C. and everyone raved about the taste and presentation of the cake! Excellent experience 👏

Google
I come here pretty much every weekend. They have absolutely one of the best vegan cupcakes. My favorite is double chocolate. Their service is fantastic, nice cozy place. If you are in city, check this place out. You won’t be disappointed at all. Atmosphere is amazing. Never had bad experience here. A must place for cupcakes. They taste good, cost is low.

Google
Variety of desserts! I just like this place with no specific reason. When I feel moody, I go there and it helps me feel better. Highly recommend banana pudding, chocolate pudding, grilled sandwiches and Vietnam coffee!

Google
I have walked by here everyday since I moved to the area in December and finally decided to pop in. Well now I’m mad I waited this long!! My husband and I got a croissant and a cookie and both were so delicious. Cant wait to go back and try some of the cake slices!!

Jessica K.

Yelp
I ordered two dozen vegan chocolate chip cookies, half a dozen vegan confetti cupcakes, and half a dozen vegan double chocolate cupcakes from the Arlington location for a work party. My colleagues loved the cupcakes but were absolutely obsessed with the chocolate chip cookies. I will add that the majority of the party attendees were not vegan, but vegan desserts were ordered as the party honoree was vegan. These desserts, especially the cookies, were some of the best we have ever eaten. None of party attendees were aware of Bakeshop prior to this party but are now going to be repeat customers at all Bakeshop locations!

Yelp
Love this place! It's one of my go to places for cupcakes in the area. The other is Baked and Wired but this one is easier to get to. There are a lot of options from cupcakes to macarons to cake slices to cookies and more. Also they offer vegan versions of most cupcake flavors which is amazing because it's hard to find tasty vegan treats for my friends who subscribe to that kind of dietary restrictions. Also the staff is really friendly. It can be hard to hear when there are a few people in there trying to order. The acoustics are not great so then you have to yell and everyone is yelling but like in a friendly way lol. They're pretty quick and if there's a line it's usually because the customers are having a hard time deciding which of the yummy treats to get...and fighting themselves from buying everything. This place is also next door to a chocolate shop I really like as well. It's not a cheap one so think gourmet...or artisan since that's what they call themselves. You can easily pop from one to the other. Anyways, I highly recommend this place even if the door is super heavy and hard to open...I get a workout each time but you get greeted by friendly people, service, and delicious smells. I've been here many times and plan to keep coming back. I hope they don't move though they could use a bigger place. This location is so convenient for me and they do offer Uber eats delivery but it's not possible to select flavors the way you can in person. Check it out!

Yelp
I got the funfetti cake (my fav flavor) and it was a very dry and bland cake. The cake tasted like it was left out for days. The frosting just tasted like stabilized whip cream. I bake regularly, and this is how my cake would taste if I left it out on the counter for about a week without storing it properly. I am very surprised by the raving reviews - it must be for something other than the cake. The cake slices are stored in the fridge - which is a big no no in the baking community because it dries them out.

Yelp
Food - 2. Service and ambiance - na as it was a pickup order and I didn't see the place. I am surprised at the positive reviews but I would be willing to try their other menu items. We had the cupcakes only and they were very dry. The equivalent of cupcakes that have been left out on the counter for days without a cover. I could only trying one bite because it did not taste good. We got six different varieties and one of the chocolates was marginally better than the others but not by much. The frosting tasted like nothing - it was not sweet, or buttery, or flavorful. It tasted like what a crisco based frosting would taste like. I have tried many cupcakes and feel confident I know what a god cupcake should taste like. But again - bake shop does get a lot of glowing reviews so I do wonder if I just need to try other items on their menu.

Yelp
NEAR PERFECT PIE!! I ordered a Snickerdoodle and Key Lime Pie slice through Uber Eats. They ended up giving me a sugar cookie which was good. The key lime pie was near perfect in my opinion. It had the perfect amount of crust, the filling wasn't too sweet or tart (if it was a touch tarter I'd call it perfect), and it had whipped cream which I prefer over meringue. Overall, if you're a key lime lover, you should definitely try this place.

Yelp
I searched this place up and it showed it was the top bakery in Clarendon so of course I had to try it while in the neighborhood! The store is super clean and while small, but super neat and organized! It has a normal cafe cozy vibe and the workers were so nice and attentive. They ensured everything was the way I wanted it to please me and that the goods were packed correctly. They were very thorough in making sure I received everything I paid for as well. The desserts looked delicious, super soft, and tasty!! They had so many different options with flavors like red velvet macaroons and brownie cookies (brookies that were so fluffy and soft!). I loved this place and can't wait to visit again. Keep up the good work! Also recommend this place for cakes if you have an event. Their cakes were large, tall, and tasty! Grab a huge slice for $7 to try it!

Yelp
While the galore of baked goods are appetizing and alluring, they are dry and stale. The cookies/bars aren't that fresh and can be up to 1 week old. Both times (2019 and 2024), I got a Oreo in a Blanket (Oreo stuffed cooke), the cookie was stale and a disappointment. The Brookie with Brownie Batter was brittle and also didn't taste fresh. The Samoa Bar was my pick and similar to a Carmelita and coconuty Twix bar. The Lavendar Lemonade was refreshing and delicious! I ordered a custom deep dish cookie cake for my birthday a few years ago, and sadly it was pretty dry with crusty buttercream frosting and not worth $25. After taking a few bites, I threw away the cake. The $90 Xtreme Cookie Dough cake looks amazing, but I'm apprehensive to order it based on my past experiences and similar Yelp reviews on dry cakes. I might come back to try the ice cream sandwiches and pies.
google avatar

Shruti A.

Yelp
I got my friend vegan cupcakes from here and I was surprised by the number of options! Her favorites were the "chocolate love" and "cinnamon cereal" cupcakes. They also had some doggy treats to purchase and got my pup a few treats!
google avatar

Yelp
Sweet little coffee shop and bakery in Clarendon. This place is a cutie shop with hr nicest staff. I have come in here a couple times for their cookies and have not been disappointed. Great alternative to the pricier coffee shops down the street( looking at you Tatte )
google avatar

Julie L.

Yelp
A great option for the gluten free vegans in our community! It's a family go to for desserts including beautiful vegan birthday cakes that delighted all guests. Theses desserts definitely "pass" as standard desserts
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
The place was neat and looks cozy. They have only indoor sittings and mostly people stop-by for takeout than dining in. Staff were eager to help and really help to provide recommendations for your likings. We had their ice cream which is the cookie vanilla sandwich and the Macaron Red Velvet ice cream. For sweet tooth go for the cookies for the mid sweet, go for the macaron. The combination was so good! We will surely go back to this place!
google avatar

Shayla M.

Yelp
I always believe that you should save room for dessert. I was excited to see this bakery after visiting a nearby restaurant. As soon as you walk in there is a freezer and a cold case filled with frozen ice cream sandwiches and cold desserts like banana pudding and cake slices. Behind the counter is the display case of cookies, cupcakes, macarons and various other dessert items. I had a hard time deciding what to try first. I went with two cookies and a cupcake. The cookies were very large. The peanut butter was flavorful but had a dry aftertaste. The chocolate chip cookie was made with brown butter which brought out the sweetness in the cookie. There were two options for the red velvet cupcake. I chose the buttercream option. The cake part was light and airy. The cupcake was on the smaller side. The icing was not overly sweet. The bake shop was not crowded when I was there which allowed me a chance to see what other options were available. However I could see if the place was busier, I would have felt pressured to pick things quickly so that I would not be holding up the line.

Brad M.

Yelp
I am crazy impressed with their everything breakfast croissant. It's a really unique take on crossing an everything bagel with a croissant. You simply must give it a try.
google avatar

Vivian Z.

Yelp
The best bakery for special cakes/desserts! They have a ton of interesting flavors to try and have a solid cake ordering system as well that lets you customize the flavoring and stuff. I ordered a cake for a goodbye party and everyone was raving about how good it was. This is a spot you can't miss out on!
google avatar

Ellen D.

Yelp
This shop is very unsuspecting... My friends and I were on our way to another bakery when we walked past Bakeshop- we didn't think much of as it was a small and cozy shop; but I am so glad we tried it. They offered a lot of non-basic flavors for macarons, and a lot of cupcake options. They also offered cookie sandwiches as well. Taro Macaron: 3.8 of 5 - it tasted "sweet with a hint of taro" Pandan Macaron: 5 of 5 - I loved this macaron so much, the taste of the Pandan really came through with each bite I highly recommend checking out this bakeshop; I would definitely come back for their Pandan and to try other macarons!
google avatar

Nina L.

Yelp
Cookies and vegan cupcakes are excellent (we're not vegan but we prefer their vegan cupcakes to conventional ones). Peanut butter pie is excellent. Service varies, can be aloof but I focus on the baked goods. High quality treats!
google avatar

Megan T.

Yelp
I've never been to Bakeshop, but my sister ordered a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing, and it was delicious! While not the moistest cake I have had, the flavor of the red velvet was great, plus the cream cheese icing was some of the best that I have had - it was definitely cream cheesy, which I absolutely loved! The next time I am in town I hope to stop by one of their shops to try more sweet treats to give a proper review, but until then, I will be thinking about that delicious red velvet cake!
google avatar

Yelp
I got a vegan cake from here for my best friends housewarming and let me tell you! It was a fan fave! The turnover was super quick so thank you for saving the day for my last minute request. They were super friendly and super helpful and helped me every step along the way. It was also ready at pick up time. Thankful and will have my business again!
google avatar

Yelp
Nestled away in Arlington, you can find this delicious bakery. With a massive assortment of desserts, it is hard to decide what to get! The employees were super friendly and gave great recommendations on their personal favorites. Tried the snickerdoodle, browned butter and peanut butter cookie. The snickerdoodle and browned butter were delicious. Unfortunately the peanut butter one was extremely dry and a disappointment Would definitely come back here and recommend the snickerdoodle or browned butter cookie. Would not recommend the PB one.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
The staff here is so sweet. Their sweets are amazing. I fell in love with their key lime pie. But I recommend eating their pies the same day or within 48 hours because the taste and texture changes once you place it in the fridge over a day. I love their vegan treats! I got to share my experience with someone who is gluten free and she absolutely loved it! They have cookies, brownies, pies, cupcakes, and macaroons. I'm not a huge fan of their macaroons but overall everything is solid for a little sweet tooth fix. The ambiance is hip/ adventurer vibes.
google avatar

Whitney S.

Yelp
I just had the ice cream sandwich it taste good but it was hard and tough to eat. My friends got some cookies and baked goods I think overall the food is okay nothing gourmet or worth having again
google avatar

Sonia K.

Yelp
I stopped by here after hearing about their macarons and they did not disappoint! I was so intrigued by their flavors it was difficult not to try them all. I ended up getting the birthday cake, pumpkin spice, and taro. All of them were good! They also offer many other delicious treats here like cupcakes, pie, cookies, breakfast items, and coffee beverages. Items include gluten free and vegan options. It is clean and there is some indoor seating. The staff is super friendly and offer great service. I definitely want to come back here to try more of their macaron flavors!
google avatar

Ronald N.

Yelp
I recently visited the Bakeshop and was impressed with their fantastic baked goods. I tried the oatmeal cookie, various cupcakes, and bars--all were delicious. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, and I was pleased to see vegan and gluten-free cupcake options. The service was good, but the ambiance was just okay. I would recommend not playing hip hop club music at 11 in the morning. Everything was delicious, and I would definitely come again.
google avatar

Zack G.

Yelp
Cute little bakery with a ton of both classic and unique baked creations. In addition to their baked goods they also have drinks, a variety of vegan options, chipwiches and ice cream sandwiches between giant macaroons, and a few savory options as well The place is small, but there's plenty of seating I came with my GF for breakfast, and we each got latte's and their "New Yorker" breakfast sandwiches. Our drinks were fine, but nothing to write home about, and our sandwiches were extremely salty. We'll come back to give their baked goods another shot though - they looked delicious!
google avatar

Wilton P.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try their baked good for a while and finally got around to it recently. I ordered their hostess cupcake, red velvet, and I think the last one was an apple pie flavored cupcake, if I remember correctly. They all tasted amazing and were moist and fresh. The staff were incredible friendly and helpful. I look forward to stopping by again soon.
google avatar

Megan H.

Yelp
Y'all. SO tasty. We came in later in the day and they still had a good selection. The server was sweet and very honest about her opinion/recommendations which we appreciated. We got an M&M cookie, a vegan cookie wrapped Oreo, a birthday cake macaron and an oatmeal cream pie. We don't typically eat vegan desserts but the cookie wrapped Oreo was still excellent. The macaron was the right texture and very accurately birthday cake flavored. It also didn't taste like food coloring (which is often the issue I run into with macarons in the US). The oatmeal cream pie has a great hint of cinnamon, very soft cookies, and the right amount of a light cream center that really pulls together perfectly. Finally, the M&m cookie is so moist and the cookie dough base is just excellent. All of the positive reviews really do live up to the hype. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Vegan baked goods? Haven't tried them? Maybe you have and didn't like them? Want to help save the planet? You must stop by this wonderful place. The shop in Georgetown is now 100% Vegan, amazing. Oh, and best Vegan on the planet? You be the judge. Moist, choices, presentation is beautiful. Try Vegan, try Bakeshop.

Chris Z.

Yelp
Bakeshop has been our go to for treats for a long time in Arlington, and we made the fantastic decision to use them as a vendor for our wedding cake. We worked with Monica and her team to coordinate what cakes would work best for our needs, customizations to the cakes, and delivery. Everything was super easy and went off without a hitch - and most importantly, the cakes were beautiful and tasted delicious!
google avatar

Dee D.

Yelp
I must say this place hit a home run! The counter persons were super friendly and welcoming. I had a hot steaming Americano because decaf is the only way for me. They only drip regular coffee and not decaf. Still a solid experience. The red velvet cupcake was super moist and yummy. The cream cheese frosting is tasting and is super sweet, so I couldn't eat all of the icing. The have a large variety of vegan baked good and that was a major win for one of my friends. We sat at the counter and had a nice conversation after the brunch we had nearby. They also have macaroons, ice cream sandwiches, cookies and assorted baked goodies. Check this place out when you can.
google avatar

Lindsay F.

Yelp
Fave neighborhood sweet treat spot. Only got a 4 out of 5 stars because the treats aren't consistently amazing in my opinion. Most of the time everything is tasty but there'll be a time or two that I get something & it is so lackluster. Service is wonderful & everyone is so friendly!
google avatar

Esther S.

Yelp
Cupcakes: fluff, moist, and delicious! The butter cream red velvet was my favorite but all of them are great that I've tried. Cookies: there's a broad range between the cookies in terms of taste, size, texture. Tried the pb brownie and it sucked: hard, crumbly, tasted bad. The Oreo was delightful, and I love the oatmeal choco chip
google avatar

Carl C.

Yelp
Super friendly folks found here! First time at this location on a Sunday afternoon, and I was not disappointed by the service or products. I tried their seasonal French toast latte, cheddar scone, and taro cupcake. The scone was satisfying and savory enough to gratify any cheese lover. Also, the taro cupcake was surprisingly flavorful! The latte was not too sweet, either. Several folks picked up their online orders, and I noticed quite a few folks ordered vegan options, too. It's a very good neighborhood shop without any pretense or angst.
google avatar

Lea G.

Yelp
Bakeshop is an awesome spot! Incredible pies (my favorite is coconut cream) and cookies. I especially love that you can place an order online. This is so convenient for planning celebrations ahead or just swinging by when you are busy.
google avatar

Kimya P.

Yelp
Vegan cupcakes and donuts are great. My kiddo has an egg, nut, and sesame allergy and we are so thankful that these vegan products are safe for him and delicious! Bathroom on site. Limited indoor seating and some patio seating. Lovely staff. And solid coffee.
google avatar

Christine T.

Yelp
Another quick trip to their shop! Bought some cake slices (taro, coconut cream, and funfetti!) Macarons? Always a winner too. Cookies? Can't go wrong.
google avatar

Annie S.

Yelp
Love this place! They have the best desserts ranging from cookies, cupcakes, pie, and ice cream sandwiches. I have tried many of the cookies, cupcakes and banana pudding, all delicious. They even have vegan and gluten free options. There is some indoor seating if you'd like to eat there.
google avatar

Rohit R.

Yelp
Our favorite bakery! They sell a variety of treats from cookies to macaroons to banana pudding. Whenever I go, I always have to at least get their Oreo in a Blanket which essentially a chocolate chip cookie with an Oreo inside. So good! For those lactose intolerant or vegan, they also offer a bunch of vegan options that are just as good as the regular!
google avatar

Ailun H.

Yelp
My friend and I were craving ice cream during tonight's super hot and humid day and decided to check out Bakeshop. I'm glad I got the chance to go because it's been on my list of places to check out. The bakery is pretty homey and inviting with minimal seating inside but there are some tables outdoors as well. Bakeshop has a good variety of baked goods (cookies, macarons, cakes, pies, ice cream sandwiches - and lots of variety within these categories, too!) so you will definitely be able to find something here that will satisfy your sweet cravings. There's also plenty of vegan options, which is fantastic! That being said, the pricing for the baked goods aren't cheap (a regular sized cookie is like $3.25). ICE CREAM COOKIEWICHES - 8.50 The size of the cookie ice cream sandwich was the size of a burger slider but we weren't expecting it to be that expensive! I wish I asked for the pricing before bringing it up to the counter, but hey, treat yourself! I got the "Oaty Chocolate Chunk" cookie sandwich with strawberry ice cream in between. I love a good oatmeal cookie and the chocolate chunks added a good amount of sweetness. I love a good chocolate, too! Strawberry ice cream is one of my favorite "basic" flavors and the strawberry chunks within the ice cream provided fruity and juicy bites. While it was a nice treat in the humid summer night, it was also an extremely heavy dessert option so I wasn't able to finish the whole sandwich. Taking it home and saving it for another day was also not an option since I didn't want my hands sticky from the puddles of melted ice cream and soggy cookies. They also sell coffee here (using beans from Vigilante - local MD coffee roaster) so I'll definitely have to try it the next time I'm back. I'm also a sucker for blueberry based pastries so I'd have to pair the coffee with an Oatmeal Blueberry cookie.
google avatar

Hunter B.

Yelp
I decided to walk in when I was nearby and it did not disappoint. They have a ton of sweets and it was difficult to choose but I decided to play it safe and get the chocolate chunk cookie. It was a fantastic cookie, soft and full of flavor. It was easy to walk in and grab whatever you want, although the people working there were not the greatest. Great sweets and I would go back to get more.
google avatar

J P.

Yelp
This place is pricey for what you get - at least in the birthday cake department. Not sure if my borderline experience will have me coming back to try anything else. The cake was pretty good but nothing outstanding, and for the amount ($$$) you pay for a NON-custom cake, I expect to feel beyond satisfied by flavor! It was aesthetically pleasing but tasted like something I could've easily made myself. For those who feel good about earning points as a customer, their rewards system left me feeling deceived - usually you get points for the amount SPENT, however, when I logged in, the reflected points reflected a pre-tax amount?? what in the world?.... I like to get the most bang for my buck. That combined with being a sucker for a points rewards program usually has me buying what you're selling on repeat. Unfortunately, I can't say that this place has secured this spot in my pocketbook.
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
Had bakeshop delivered on Ubereats and it was exactly what I needed. The funfetti whipped cream cake is nice and light. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was soft, delicious. I also tried the coconut cream pie and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely be getting all my sweet treats from here in the future.
google avatar

Priyanka D.

Yelp
I had heard really good things about bakeshop so I went to try them for their macaroons and I had their pistachio macaroons and I thought they were average - I will definitely be back to try their other sweets (like their chocolate chip cookie dough, still optimistic that I might like other items in the bakery!)
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
At this point I deserve a frequent flyer card or something for how much I'm at both VA locations. I add it as a stop for every family/friend visiting me and have used Bakeshop to serve treats at housewarming parties, work events, etc. My favorite items over the pst few years: - Pumpkin chocolate chip bread, I order this by the loaf. There is no shame. It pairs perfectly with my morning coffee. - Chocolate peanut butter and gingersnap cookie. - Pudding - I LOVE the chocolate Oreo and just recently tried the banana one. Both are amazing and don't make it past the car ride home. - Macaroons - they're not a staple in my rotation but I always make a special stop to try the seasonal/ holiday flavors! - Cupcake - they made a pear or apple spice cupcake for the fall and I will not stop dreaming about it until it returns again. SO good. Is it crazy to think I need to work there part time just for the employee discount? Happy to see they've expanded into Georgetown and can't wait to visit!

Scott V.

Yelp
Ehhhh. Pulled out cash and was treated like someone with issues. Was told they only take CC. Noting posted until after you order then it states this by the register. Sad.
google avatar

Jamie J.

Yelp
The best spot to get a mix of treats. The staff are really kind and super patient while waiting for you to pick from all their amazing goods. Great for people who like unique flavors as well (i.e. Ube)
google avatar

Krithika S.

Yelp
I literally go here all the time to secure a brookie. Its a brownie and a cookie combined, literally one of the best combinations ever. I even bought a cute bakeshop shirt so every time I go I can get a free cookie or cupcake. The pie slices there are unique flavors like taro, Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai tea! They are literally SO GOOD, but I can't get those every time because health, but I really wish I could. The baristas as so friendly! We bring our own coffee mug with us for cold brew and they'll fill it up for you! Yay for being eco friendly! The place is pretty small but there's indoor and a little outdoor seating. I recommend the outdoor seating if you want a serotonin boost seeing all the neighborhood dogs. Run don't walk to bakeshop! It'll be your go to bakery & coffee shop from the moment you try it once!

Yelp
A bakery that everyone needs to visit while in town! They have a location in Arlington and DC, so there's no excuse not to. I highly recommend ordering online if you can. They were starting to run out of things by mid day. Cupcakes - Small and delicious. Honestly I thought they were the perfect size compared to all the massive cupcakes running around. They cupcake edges had that nice crisp which I love. The Taro flavors shined and I loved the unique options. Macarons - Macarons were light and crisp. The filling was packed with flavors. I got the cookies and cream and champagne. Both were amazing, but the champagne felt like popping a bottle on new years day. Must tries for sure. Cookies - Probably my least favorite, but still delicious! Raspberry Orange and White Chocolate was good, but overly orange. Oreo in a blanket was good, and they even had a vegan version.

AJ D.

Yelp
Ice cream sandwich and every flavor of cupcakes we got were delicious. Eager to try all of their flavors and their macaroons

Yelp
Good assortment of cupcakes and baked goods at a lower price than other nearby bakeries and cupcake shops. Service was not great. I ordered through Uber Eats and the Bakeshop missed a dozen cupcakes that were supposed to be for a birthday celebration. When I called, their solution was to reorder them rather than delivering the original order.
