"On North Lamar, next door to a Maudie’s, there’s the new Mediterranean bakery/pastry shop Baklava House. There’s a whole variety of pastries, including baklava, barazek, knafeh, and maamoul. They also serve Manakish, the pizza-like Lebanese flatbread, with toppings like za'atar, muhammara, and cheese and spinach." - Raphael Brion

I stopped by Baklava Home for a quick coffee, but the experience was anything but ordinary. From the moment you step inside, the stunning decor and presentation truly impress. The comfortable seating invites you to linger, and the enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries will definitely whet your appetite. Ahmed crafted a delicious latte that struck the perfect balance between rich espresso and creamy foam. Choosing from the array of tempting baklava and pastries was a delightful challenge, with each option looking more delicious than the last. The prices are fair, especially considering the high quality of service and products offered. I highly recommend Baklava Home for anyone looking to enjoy a remarkable cafe experience!

The dessert here was amazing. We got the Baklava With Pistachio and it was so sweet but it went really well with coffee. Because of the sweetness, it is hard to eat more than one or two, but it was perfect because I went with two other people and we each got to eat one. The inside of the bakery was very spacious and we went at night so there weren't that many people and it was quiet. It was a great place for a cup of coffee and to talk. The servers there also came to us directly with a menu. I thought we were supposed to order in front, but they were sincere enough to offer us the menu first.

Just had breakfast here and everything was delicious! we often visit Turkey and know what a Turkish breakfast is. The only thing is that there was only 1 waiter for the whole cafe and the service was a bit slow (but I won't take off 1 star for that). Inside this cafe it is clean and cozy

Saw a video online of Baklava with Gold coating and ice cream and couldn't wait to try this… Walked in and asked for Baklava with Ice Cream and other stuff and that is the best Baklava I've ever had!! Thank you so much to the Girl at the front who was kind. Service was pretty good no complaints and atmosphere was normal. Will definitely be coming back!

Incredible Turkish breakfast that is light but filling, delicious yet affordable. This place is for the win in every imaginable way and sets you up for a great day! FOOD The breakfast plate is a must, it's about $25 but can feed 2-3 people. It includes healthy amounts of cheeses, eggs and sausage, breads, delicious spreads, salad and fresh veggies. It's not just delicious but nutritious I can stress this enough, it's perfect in both taste and nutrition. A breakfast that won't weigh you down and your body will thank you for! Also, the hazelnut coffee is just out of this world. SERVICE Not all staff speaks english, but just point at the menu and it's great. Service is fast and quick. They really take care of you like a family member as they provide service with a smile and don't skimp on the good stuff when you ask. Very friendly ! ATMOSPHERE Spacious interior with big tables that can accommodate bigger groups. The place echoes a little bit so it's not the quietest but people keep to themselves. The place also feels very cosy for being so big. It's also a great place to post up with a coffee and a laptop to get some work done. Highly highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I discovered this place on Instagram, and as a huge fan of Turkish desserts and coffee, I just had to check out this "little slice of heaven" in Paterson, NJ, today. The place is so lovely, and the vibe is so inviting. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. And the baklava and Turkish coffee are out of this world! Cold baklava was top-notch!🤌 I can't wait to go back again and again.

Do NOT eat baklava here. Terrible experience. We came here as a group of 5 Turkish people who grew up with eating baklava. None of us like it. The baklava in the picture looks good but the taste is terrible. It wasn’t crunchy. They warmed it up and served it. Never seen that before. Their kunafa is good tho. It is 9 out of 10. Rice pudding was not good. It is 5 out of 10.

A hidden gem!! Service was beyond amazing, very welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. I don't usually give a 5 star rating bit this place earned it.

Yelp
Big dessert spot. Super clean. Nice modern seating. Waitress was patient and helpful. Trilece, chocolate mousse pastry, and Turkish delight were all very good. The pistachio kunefe made to order was awesome! Great texture and flavor! Enjoyed all of that goodness with a delightful cup of tea! Yet another excellent dessert spot in Paterson!

Yelp
Today , stopped in for a Turkish tea and breakfast visit. Was disappointed to learn they don't make Kunafe Cheese on Sundays, nonetheless food was delish. Service was on point today. This time tried the mixed omelet and my fav eggs with sujuk. Tasty and flavorful! I love that the omelette was served with a side of salad and veggies.

Yelp
Such good, crispy, cheesy konafa! The pistachio konafa comes filled with stretchy cheese with a perfectly crisped konafa exterior. The chef prepared everything in front of us and he was so friendly. Wait staff were also friendly and informative. Ambiance is perfection. So cozy and well decorated. I crave that konafa weekly! And I'm not even a dessert girl

Yelp
I stopped by Saturday night for some dessert with a few friends after a long day at the pool. To start off the place itself is very nice and clean. The baklava looks amazing. They have a good assortment. The quality and taste were truly impeccable! The service could be better. It was my first time and I wish the lady at the counter was a bit more transparent about the procedure for ordering and the cost. We ended up getting a small box with about 6-7 pieces of baklava for about $22. It is on the pricer side but it is totally worth it in terms of taste and quality. I will definitely return!

Yelp
First there was Taskin Bakery (in Paterson NJ). Taskin taught us that we need not settle, we deserve a better Baklava. Then came Antepli 2 and Sultan Artisanal Bakery, both took the baklava game in NJ to another level, especially Antepli which hails from Gaziantep (Turkey), the home of Baklava, Pistachios, and extra ordinary cuisine. Designated as a City of Gastronomy by UNESCO in 2015, Gaziantep has a thousand Baklava joints. Even the mid 100 Baklava joints in Gaziantep are better than the top Baklava establishments anywhere else. After Antepli 2, it seemed that this was as good as it can get. But along came Baklava Home at 1022 Main Street in Paterson NJ. This is the new standard for premium Baklava. For the moment things cannot get any better.

Yelp
The baklava is great! I love the packaging. Service was great. I would go back! The place is classy and clean. A must visit if your in the area

Yelp
I suspect that "Baklava Home" is an awkward translation of Baklava evi and that the aforementioned dessert shop may have been better served under the title "House of Baklava." And yet the warm feelings conveyed by the current name are not misplaced, and I would certainly recommend Baklava evi to anyone who is looking for a nice sweet treat and glass of çay after dinner in Paterson.

Yelp
One of my new favorite spots. Right in the heart of Paterson. Plenty of tables and the desserts are delicious! Highly recommend their baklava with a scoop of ice cream and their cheese and pistachio Kunefe. Yum!

Rija K.

Yelp
Love their Turkish tea! Came here almost every day just for it when I was visiting my parents place. Chocolate baklava is also very good. Cute ambiance to meet up with friends!

Yelp
Literally one of the nicest coffee shops I've been to. I love the baklava it is so good. The vibes are 100! And the owner is so nice, he will let you try anything you want. You need to try this place !!!!

Muhammed Y.

Yelp
It took 15 min to get 1lb of baklava. 2 of the workers acted like I was never there. Dessert's might be ok but customer service is awful. The owner did not even care there were customers and waiting for that long. It was not even rush hour! Your workers need to welcome people. They act like they are robot who only get orders. Also, you guys need parking lot, too!!!

Lisa L.

Yelp
From the moment you walk in til the time you leave, the hospitality is impeccable. The delightful mouthwatering baklava will have you wanting to taste every single one. It's the best I have ever had.... Freshly made and absolute total perfection!

Jojo S.

Yelp
Delicious borek, Turkish tea and coffee. Lots of vegetarian options and fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Can u guys add the chocolate with knafeh and pistachio butter. I wanna try it so badddd

Jessalyn S.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Sunday and was delighted to find the best knafeh I've had ever! I've been coming to Paterson from NY almost every other weekend to get delicious Palestinian food with my family and this is by far our favorite knafeh. Parking in the area can take awhile but on the street but we've always been able to get a spot. The place was fairly busy with a steady stream of people but enough tables to be seated immediately. Service was prompt and fast with our orders being taken. We had to get the made to order knafeh which I've never had it made to order anywhere else. It was delicious, crispy, and had an amazing cheese pull. A must get. We also got the breakfast plate which was a good assortment of bread, cheeses, and a salad. Easily fed the three of us. Turkish coffee is a must and like usual comes with a small sweet. Definitely my favorite place for knafeh now and will absolutely be back again.

Yelp
I did not come here for the baklava lol I love love love this place for their chocolate and their selection of teas. I dont like pistachio, but had their chocolate pistachio brittle and it was so good, highly recommend. They have these chocolate mushrooms things that have different fillings inside depending on the color. Those were meh. The dark chocolate balls are the ones that you want if you love chocolate. The staff is really sweet (haha) and wont judge you for sampling treats.

Yelp
Hello, the price of one pound of şöbiyet Baklava is 45 dollars. Such a thing cannot happen. Such a thing is impossible. Sorry about that. No matter how flashy your place is, a pound of Baklava cannot be $45.

Enass M.

Yelp
I had a horrible experience: The customer service is poor! It was not my first time being at that place, and I am aware of the slow service and very cold reception. I made my order to have kunafea with pistachios and cheese; however, it came without pistachios. I informed politely the waiter that this is not what I have just ordered and if he could please get me what I wanted. He took the plate and came back in one minute with exact same wrong order and he added a spoon of grounded pistachios on the top. I told him this is not what I ordered and I think this is the same exact wrong plate he said "Yes; and if you eat it I can give you a discount." What kind of wok ethnic is that by him trying to fool me [wrong plate is already less expensive than what I have ordered so technically there is no discount]. If this was my first time being at the place how would I know the difference between the two types of kunafea? If I didn't ask does that mean I will be charged more for something I can get with less money. When I decided to leave the restaurant, the lady behind the counter said she doesn't have enough staff. So, I asked her that I didn't want to be in her shoes; and I said "If you are overwhelmed you should let me know that your kitchen is closed and I can leave." She basically called me a rude person. I would like you to know that customer satisfaction is a must for any business. A word to that restaurant manager: Please take customer feedback about your bad customer service seriously and try to improve your customer service; this is a huge weakness and I'm not sure if your business can survive with the failure to meet customer expectations.

Yelp
Best baklava I have ever had. Been to numerous locations to eat baklava. It was so fresh and the staff was awesome. Me and wife will definitely be going back again. The place was super clean and luxurious. The feel was modern but authentic. Sorry I don't have pictures. We ate the stuff up before thinking about a review.
