The 11 Best-Value Restaurants In Central London

"The legendary kosher pita spot’s Clerkenwell location on Leather Lane is a godsend for any lunchtime falafel enthusiasts. The falafel—crisp and fresh out the fryer, fluffy inside, and steaming with green herbiness and spices—is paired with a combination of fruity amba, punchy zhug, and cooling tahini, and carefully packed inside a steaming, pillowy pitta. It’s pretty much takeaway-only (save for a window counter you can lean up against). " - jake missing

The Best Lunch Spots In Holborn

"There are many things to like about Balady’s second location on Leather Lane, not least the fact that we find it markedly easier to get to than the kosher spot’s original one in Temple Fortune. Of course it’s all about their falafel: crisp and fresh out the fryer, fluffy inside, and steaming with green herbiness and spices. All of which cry out for the combination of fruity amba, punchy zhug, and cooling tahini that lines their soft pittas. That will always be the number one appeal, closely followed by their fantastic hand-cut chips." - rianne shlebak, jake missing

Was brought here by a friend after she recommended it a few weeks earlier. Absolutely fantastic. I'll be returning for delicious Israeli falafel in pita sometime soon. Service was also very friendly and attentive. Something about the chips was very moreish. Overall a great experience.

Amazing vegetarian kosher food. Huge selection to choose from and generous portions. You MUST try a topped hummus dish when you come.

Recently tried their delivery, and it was a satisfactory experience. The pita was generously filled with falafel, maybe a bit too much. A touch less falafel could've allowed for a better balance with more sauce and salad. Nevertheless, the overall taste was enjoyable. The homemade chips were indeed flavourful and had a satisfying crispiness. I recommend giving this place a try; although, the in-store experience might offer a little extra charm.

Fresh, delicious, Israeli fast and healthy food with plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. I just wish they sold that perfect pita bread to take home 😋

With three sterling restaurants in Temple Fortune, High Barnet and Hatton Garden, it’s a delight to see Balady spreading the joy to Camden. The falafel is unsurpassed, the sabich will melt in your mouth, and the hand cut chips should be illegal!

Best falafel I’ve had maybe ever! Come out of your way for it. Yummy

Google
Off the beaten Camden tourist drag strip find this bijou middle-eastern-centric eatery The rudimentary interior a cursory Middle Eastern gesture and frankly, risible. Cauliflower (firmly rehabilitated from culinary obscurity) and mushrooms centre stage Vegetarian calling card. The inescapable falafel/ hummus the raison d’etre. And it’s good. The basics measure up and stand their ground here: though plain+simple+basic it be. Portion realistic, quality above average, price within reason. But nothing exceptional.

Excellent Falafel, great Hummus and Pitas, good service!
