The moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed by the signature aroma of freshly made Bengali sweets—warm, comforting, and utterly irresistible. The counters were beautifully arranged, each item looking like it had been crafted with patience, care, and deep-rooted tradition.
We tried a mix of classics and modern favourites, and every single item stood out for its quality and flavour:
🍮 Baked Rosogolla – The undisputed star of our visit. Soft, delicate, and infused with a gentle caramelised flavour. The texture was heavenly, almost melting in the mouth. Easily one of the best baked rosogollas we’ve ever had.
🥭 Mango Doi – Smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced with natural mango sweetness. Not overly sugary—just rich, pure flavour. A dessert you could keep going back to without feeling overwhelmed.
🥤 Aam Pora Sherbat – Refreshing and delightful. The smoky mango notes with just the right tanginess made it the perfect palate cleanser between sweets.
⚪ White Rosogolla – A timeless classic done to perfection. Soft, spongy, juicy, and soaked in perfectly balanced sugar syrup. Simple, elegant, and proof that they excel equally in tradition and innovation.
What elevated the experience further was the overall atmosphere—clean counters, well-organised displays, and patient, courteous staff. Despite the shop being busy, they took time to guide us through the options and packed everything neatly for takeaway.
As a family travelling from Bengaluru, this visit felt like much more than just a sweet stop. It was a beautiful introduction to Kolkata’s heritage and craftsmanship, where every bite reflected tradition, consistency, and passion built over generations.
We left with full bags, happy hearts, and a promise to return on our next trip.
