The best beef around!! I love this place. The best Beef Jerky I ever had with very little salt in it. They got everything from local pork, beef sticks, breakfast sausage etc. they also have their own local beef from the farm such as steak, ground beef, etc. you can also buy wholesale and the service here is always great! Stop on by!

I felt that they were very expensive when I first walked in. Some items I passed on and I felt I did leave with a lot of meat given the amount I spent. However, I experienced the quality of the meat after it was cooked. In comparison to supermarket meat, Baldwin meats were clean. I usually suffer from inflammation and other side effects when I eat meat that is not of quality however, Baldwin meats just left me fat and happy. The Italian sausage there is very good.

I’ve had beef from ALOT of places in my time traveling. Go make the stop in! Always friendly staff, clean facility, cows grown right in front of you, BUT ABOVE ALL ELSE….the best flavored beef you will have according to my taste buds. No salt or pepper needed, just cook it up and enjoy every bite! Know that the prices of things are higher than your grocery store, for good reason! Pay the extra few bucks per LB and enjoy.

Super friendly service. Lots of cuts of meat you rarely find in regular supermarkets: hanger steak, beef heart, etc. Don't expect chic, snooty surroundings. It's basically a room with a series of meat freezers and very nice, helpful people.

True confession time. I am a secondary vegetarian. As their sign inside the store says; cows eat grass..I eat cows. I am often on 86 as its a nice ride to Yancyville for that VA gas. I have often passed Baldwin thinking 'oooooo...what sweet cows!' I looked for the calves every year. Something about the cute snowy whiteness just makes them cuter than their Angus counterparts down the road. I never thought to stop...till Covid. When it became so important to support local farms and businesses. Also be ause some cuts of beef are hard to come by now. I promised a friend I'd make her a beef bourguignon for her bday and finding a decent top round or chuck right now that wont have you mortgaging your house is very hard. Enter Baldwin! I went to their online store to check the prices and was pretty pleasantly surprised. I decided on a HUGE 5lb sirloin tip roast that only cost me $27. I also got some lovely boneless pork loin chops for $8. Not a bad haul frankly. They are absolutely frozen solid so there is no worry about bringing a cooler with ice. The store is pretty basic. You walk in the main freezers are on the right and there are 4-5 standing freezers with a selection of sausages, pork, hamburger etc. Everything to make a meat eater deliriously happy! There was no sign about masks but the girl in the store had one on. Stop by if you are hunting for some yummy charolais beef. You won't be disappointed and you will help keep a local business running during this trying time.

The beef is horrible and overpriced. The owners do their own reviews and Yelp will not remove them. They do remove negative reviews apparently at the demand of the owner of this business. Go elsewhere for grass fed beef in the VA and NC area. Yes, I went to this business myself and Yelp keeps taking my reviews down. What's up with that?

The best grass fed beef in NC! The steaks and burgers are delicious and pretty healthy as well. I highly recommend you try it!

Sorry to see the silly reviews mentioning their Trump signs. Last time I checked...politics doesn't effect the quality of the beef. This is truly a gem that is close enough to the Triangle that we visit periodically for a supply of various cuts. Great people, great service, and the best damn beef around!! If 'woke' people need to get their food in other places... God Bless you. Enough of us know what we have with Baldwin Beef to keep them running for years to come!!

People are too political. (And stupid). We're selling beef here. The beef is excellent. If you don't like it you're cooking it wrong

For the last 10 years, every trip to my Grandmother-in-law's has involved passing Baldwin Farms. It was not until our last trip to Virginia at the end of March that we decided to stop, and boy were we missing out! Some of the most beautiful grazing land dotted with creamy colored cows surround this little shop/country house. When we pulled around to the back of the house we were promptly greeted by Peggy Baldwin and invited inside the warm and cozy "shop". There were the bare necessities of a register counter and walk-in freezer and Peggy helped us to purchase ~5lbs of ground beef and a pack of NY Strip steaks. All of the Baldwin beef products are frozen immediately and kept that way for freshness. If you are already a fan of local, grass fed beef (happy cows) then you may recognize the Baldwin name from Whole Foods locations or the Chatham County farmer's market. The only down side to stopping at Baldwin is what to do next? Burgers, chili, meatballs, kafta.... The possibilities are endless!

I don't think most folks quite understand what is going on at this ranch. They raise Charolais beef - the finest there is (other than those weird Japanese cows that get fed by hand) in a humane, responsible manner. The Baldwins are hard-working Christians who actually Live their Faith! They have a devout Muslim butchering their cows - which are killed in the most humane manner possible. The meat, therefore, is Halal and makes a wonderful holiday (Eid) present that makes Muslim co-workers happy, if you happen to have any - which I do. While it is true that you have to cook the meat more carefully until you are used to it because of its (extremely healthy) lower fat content, this is a small price to pay. You are eating BEEF - not a cow and corn sandwich. I live in PA. My son went to UNC in Chapel Hill. I don't cook a lot of Beef - but when I do, It's Baldwin Beef whenever possible. I have never written a Yelp review before and probably won't again but... Nice people of Faith who are doing the right thing deserve our support.

Two strikes and you're not out, you're dog food. The only thing we've found good about this place is the frozen dog bones. My first try was with two very pretty looking strip steaks, vacuum frozen as is all the beef in the shop. I grilled them medium rare and we found the flavor OK, but they were tough as nails. The retrievers got more than half of each for their next breakfast, because they just weren't fun to eat. When I went back for more bones I mentioned the tough steaks to the young lady, who blandly accused me of over-cooking them. (I've been grilling for over 50 years, and consider myself a grill-meister.) Next bone trip I decided to try two fillet mignons. When thawed, they each resembled not your typical fillet cut but a piece of beef flat on one side, domed on the other, with a grain that matched nothing else I could determine. I grilled them flat side down first, then the domed side, again to medium rare (which took significantly longer than normal because of the lack of marbling), and again finding them surprisingly tough, more than I can ever recall for a tenderloin. The taste was mediocre at best, and again the dogs had a gourmet breakfast. Sandy and I both suggest you stick to the frozen dog bones.

I make it a point to stop by Baldwin Farms Beef Outlet everytime I'm in the area. I enjoy seeing the beautiful cattle grazing on the rolling hills of the farm. My family loves Baldwin beef and the fact that it is certified grass fed. We've had their chuck roast, ground beef, beef patties, beef fillets, beef links, and beef ribs. All are exceptional! Karen S.
