Baldwin Creek Lodge

We stayed in the lodge. We had four couples stay and had plenty of room for everyone. Beautiful dining table for and evening of card playing. Great view of Baldwin creek. Would highly recommend!

Great rooms and cabins. Easy to book. Fantastic to deal with. Clean, cozy and accommodating. Not far from most fishing locations. The owners, staff and guides are the absolute best. Highly recommended. Just not on my week there. Thanks for a great week. All the comforts and amenities of home. They treat you like family.

Great place to stay. Very convenient to grocery store and river and Baldwin. The only issues I had that there was no heat! Furnace does not work! The kitchen was spacious but in need of new cooking items such as pans and skillets. Time to upgrade kitchen items or bring your own!!! The staff was very helpful.

My spouse and I are from Canada and we were travelling through. We looked up this place to stay a couple of days before we got there. I spoke with the owner Mike B. He made everything very easy and once we got there (easy to find), checking in was as simple as punching in a code for our room. To our surprise (based on the fact this is a fishing/hunting lodge), the room was amazing! Perfectly clean, awesome decor (again fishing theme, but very well done), and very comfortable. I seen Mike (owner) the next day and told him that I really liked the room. We began talking and he told me about these wonderful trails, folk music in town, rivers, etc… So my partner and I decided to stay another night (she loved the place more than I did). We met the room cleaner on the first morning and she was a delightful person to speak with. Long story short, I am getting my “non-resident fishing license” for Michigan State and coming back to Baldwin Creek Lodge.

My two friends and I stayed at Baldwin Creek Lodge for a two day motorcycling trip, and we found the place awesome. The staff is great and the beds are so comfortable that I felt like I was in my bed at home. I forgot to unplug my battery bank, and the staff/owners reached back out to me and even mailed it to me. Outstanding customer service! Absolutely would recommend this place for anyone coming to Baldwin for Fishing/Biking whatever!

We stayed in motel room #7. The room was dusty and had a dirty floor upon arrival. The thin bedspread was dirty with recent marking on it, unwashed. We put the bedspread on the floor for the dog to use since the floor and bedspread were dirty anyways. The bathroom had a 1x2” bar of thin soap. No mini shampoo, conditioner, body wash or lotion in the bathroom. On our second day housekeeping came in. They don’t provide a do not disturb sign for your door knob. We came back to our room to find that the dirty bedspread was placed back on the bed. Towels were adjusted in the bathroom and beds were made. No cleaning of any kind was done. The beds are uncomfortable, dirt in the bed, unwashed bedding. We saw house keeping the next morning and told her not to come in our room to “clean”. Her response was “Okay, sweet!” Very disappointed with this room. We will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

I’ve stayed here quite a few times with my boyfriend. The Batcke family and staff are always very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with a rustic feel and are very clean. I just recently started fishing and Steve is great guide and always makes sure I have an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend staying here and using their guide services.

I was looking for an interesting place to spend the night on our trip to the UP. I noticed Batche's was on the Baldwin River and was hoping to get a river view room. The proprietor was very helpful and understood my wish as opposed to the best appointed room. We were not disappointed. Although small, the room had the basics and the rustic lodge decor was delightful. We were able to take a very short walk to the rickety stairs down to the river and the sturdy bridge across it. Enjoyable!!
